It's feels like Macys has cut back on overhead costs at the expense of customer experience in the store. Not only are there fewer registers to service the different departments but the recently added self checkout machines don't even work most of the time. There are also fewer price check stations, and the mens shoe dept is in desperate need of some TLC because boxes of shoes are mismatched and disorganized. The one saving grace for Macys that keeps me coming back is their Star Rewards program. They do a great job of offering deals at 15%-25% off regular priced and sale merchandise and even sent me an extra 30% off coupon for my birthday, and when I get to redeem my Star Rewards points it's like cashing in on even deeper savings. read more

Now by living with what has become the new normal, it is commendable on how these businesses and public places continue to remain open and cater to the general public by following the safety standards. It is now all the more important that we as customers, support these heroes during these dark hours to mankind. This Macy's is part of an extravagant mall, the Woodbridge Centre. The store has three levels and look humongous with a stock well kept and ready for the Holidays sales. The store is typical Macy's with a standard MAC and a range of different clothes, brands, shoes, perfumes and accessories. We have never visited a Macy's Backstage and was curious to check it out. It was in level 3 and looked like we were suddenly transported to a TJ Maxx. The items looked little less pricier and the shop was neat for the most part except for the kitchen items section. Very very very slow billing . Out of the 10 billing places only 1 is being used . Even with crowd they don't open other billing stations. Average experience overall. I have not been to a Macy's to shop in a while, but two Saturdays ago Mini-Me was in the Prom 2018 Dress Fashion Show, so I found myself shopping for some new items to add to my closet, while she did her thing. Prices were not what I expected, they were reasonable plus they were having a 20% off sale on many items from slacks and skirts to dresses and blouses even the jackets for work ensembles that were so cute, stylish and modern. Honestly the store is set up well and easy to navigate, the customer service was welcoming and helpful. I will definitely be back and I can't wait to see what the upcoming sales will be offering!! read more

Came into this store today and remembered why I vowed to shop at other Macy's stores going forward - and not this one. I had items to return that I bought at the Herald Square, NY location where you can pretty much return clothing items in any department/ floor/ register where women's clothing are sold. Here in Woodbridge, you have ONE register on the first floor where you can return items (customer service) and ONE line where you can pay for items (the Checkout line). It's ridiculous for a store of this size. The ladies on registers are friendly and doing the best they can, but overall customer service has gone down over the years. I made an online order for Polo Ralph Lauren Boxers. It came in a four pack. After a long day at work I just arrived home approximately one hour ago. I was excited to see that my package arrived. This order was shipped from the Woodbridge Center Mall Macy's location by the way. I got immediately proceeded to open my package and to my surprise In the package was a different brand underwear that was old and stained. In addition there were two polo brand underwear's that were polo brand but were damaged, looked old, ripped and used. One of them even had a yellow stain.... I don't think I will ever order an online item from macy's again. If I need something I'll just go to the store so that I can view the item myself before purchasing it. read more

Recently I wanted to pick up some new work clothes, but I had been putting it off for weeks. When I saw an ad in the paper about a men's clothing sale, I decided to trot on down to this Macy's (a short drive from me in Elizabeth) to check it out. I went on a weeknight, mostly to avoid potential crazy weekend crowds and in the hopes that some sale items would actually be on the shelves. Connected to Woodbridge Mall, this Macy's has little to rival its Herald Square counterpart, but it is a good satellite store with nicely laid out areas dedicated to various brands. In general I found most of the store well organized that night, though the sale items were all kind of tossed on one rack without much regard for size order (something I believe is common in most clothing stores). As I wandered around gathering clothes to try on, I was asked by a couple sales associates if I needed help. At the time I didn't so they went about their business as I used the nicely organized dressing rooms. When I came out, I decided to try to find one more item, but they did not have it. Every employee I ran into made it a point to try to help me find this mysterious item (a vest that was available online, but not in the store). Fortunately, the sales associate who rang me up was cool enough to search the inventory database of the entire metro area from New York City to New Jersey to see who may have it in stock. When it was determined that I would have to order the items, he worked with me to get me the maximum discounts, essentially canceling out the shipping cost. I was very appreciative of his help! A good staff, good environment and I found most of what I had hoped to. I guess this could be different on crazy shopping weekends, but this Macy's gets a thumbs up from me. read more

This review is mostly for customer service but I came to this store to make a purchase and was pressured into getting a new Macy's card on the spot. I had an old one and wanted to check if it was still valid first. The employee trying to get the commission - I imagine - coerced me into signing up for a new one saying the old one probably isn't valid. Since then I've called Macy's.com probably over 100 times in a month regarding several issues. The staff are rude, incompetent and uncaring. They hang up on you, give you incorrect information and are completely useless. I've wasted so many precious hours and I'm no longer enthused about Macy's because of this experience. Macy's needs to train the right employees and remember that SALES is not the only thing that keeps customers. read more

The good: The sales staff was nice. The cell phone charging station near the checkout by the escalators was very nice. The not-so-good: The ladies restrooms. Excellent selection of dresses for my daughters. Prices were affordable without gimmicks like the gauche "cash back," which I truly despise. Then went to Boscovs- what a different experience. Plenty of registers and organized shelves. Salespeople around and willing to help.
