We had a good experience at Khajana - we were not aware that we needed to make an appt so the first day we came, we didn't have one, but they did let us try on one piece each. Their pieces were unique and beautiful. We then proceeded to go around to all the shops in Edison. We didn't find the same quality except at Sajda, but those very 4x the price. So we went back to make an appt at Khajana for the next day but they said we had to do it online. So we made it online (there is a $35 charge for the appt). When we came to our appt, they didn't have it in the system and they weren't very welcoming at that point but we showed that we did pay so they helped us and we ended up buying 4 pieces. I think their selection is one of the best in Edison but they could have overall been more warmer and more friendly is my only feedback. I think they were more friendly once they knew we were buying but it would have been nice to be received that way from the start. read more

I bought my primary wedding lehenga from here, but I didn't end up using it -- that means that I spent over $3K on an outfit that wasn't usable in addition to $2K spent on travel expenses to purchase this outfit - that made me down $5K from the experience. I had come from out of town to purchase a lehenga. I liked the look and color of a lehenga here, but it was a "one size fits all" lehenga. For their tailor, we specifically asked for each kali to be reduced in width (these are the individual triangles that make the big lehenga shape) to make the effect like it was custom made. We purchased the $3K lehenga, we were assured by Shaina all kalis would be kept and slimmed, and then when we got the lehenga back, we learned that this approach wasn't taken - instead 2-3 kalis were removed altogether. This completely eroded the look of the lehenga, making it pouf out less, and not look great. Furthermore, this is a problem, because the outfits aren't returnable after they do tailoring that doesn't follow what was agreed upon. My other wedding lehengas were purchased from Sabyasachi, Anita Dongre, and Sajda (in New Jersey), so I grew to learn what a high quality lehenga looks like. It is a result of this learning that I realized how odd the look of the Khajana lehenga was. My Sabyasachi was purchased at a boutique in Delhi that holds many designers. The tailor there knew that an "off the shelf" lehenga must have each kali individually slimmed and kalis must never be removed, just as we had prescribed to Khajana. Additionally, at Khajana, I saw that there was an "Anita Dongre" lehenga there. I showed a photo of this merchandise to Anita Dongre herself, and she confirmed that this was a fake, and she was able to point out the flaws and differences. Of all the wedding shopping I did for months, Khajana was the most disheartening and overpriced experience. My recommendations for brides: 1. Within New Jersey, check out Sajda 2. Given the high cost and lower quality of the New Jersey selection, it's actually more affordable to fly to Delhi or communicate with a real designer in India your design and body size dimensions and have it all made from scratch - especially lehengas which require a design that accounts for the specific dimensions of the person wearing it My recommendations for Khajana - I would have liked a refund after spending several thousand dollars on an unusable lehenga. Rather than writing back a defensive response to this as you've done with others, I invite you to explore how you can create a better customer experience than what I had for brides who are already under plenty of stress read more

My mother, sister, and I came looking for bridal outfits for my sister and myself. We used to come here for outfits as children. As soon as we walked in, the 2 women were very dismissive and seemed to not want us there. The overall atmosphere of the store was unwelcoming, with staff members seeming more preoccupied with chatting amongst themselves than attending to customers' needs. We told them we were looking for bridal lehengas and they said we were only allowed to try on one piece each and no more. My sister selected a piece to try on and immediately the two sales women started talking to each other about how my sister was too big for the piece and that it wouldn't fit her. Not only was this comment completely uncalled for, but it also reflects a lack of professionalism and basic respect for customers. They were VERY rude and judgmental. Their wedding lehengas are priced at 3K+, so I expected much better service and attitude. Needless to say, we left Khajana feeling insulted and frustrated, with no desire to return in the future. They left a bad taste in my mouth, and I would much rather spend my money elsewhere. Do not go here if you value respectful and considerate customer service! read more

I don't like to dwell on bad service, let alone review on it, but this truly was a horrible experience. I hope it was due to a bad day she was having, otherwise this will really hurt any business especially during times of Covid (maybe why the store was empty on a Saturday). I liked the window displays so I walked in and was greeted by a lady with long bleached hair who asked what my budget was. I politely told her that I'm willing to spend whatever need be if I find an item I liked, something simple. I guess I rubbed her the wrong way with that answer because she made a face and defensively replied some things look simple but are "very expensive". This is a high-end boutique so anyone that enters isn't necessarily cost conscious so her focus should've been on finding the right outfit. She showed me a few items that were the opposite of what I asked, and I kindly told her these are a bit too flashy. After showing three outfits she lost patience and so I wandered the store and found an item I liked. She snaps at me said she "would've shown me this but I didn't like the other items." I'm not sure why she took personal offense to me not liking some pieces. She continued to linger behind me with her face pouted like an immature child. I continued to look at their nice displays of saris. I asked if this was hand embroidery and she rudely replied "all Kashmiri embroidery is handwork" in a tone as though I asked the stupidest question. She was incorrect. As a Kashmiri myself, I know that Kashmiri stitch work can be machine-made. At this point I could've stooped to her level and corrected her in the same rude manner she replied but I remained silent. At this point it was evident she wanted me to leave. On my way out I still thanked her despite the worst sales experience and she completely ignores me. Wow, I thought her feathers must have been ruffled for I'm not sure what reason. Another staff member embarrassed by her petty behavior, said thanks on her behalf. I went on to another store and ended up finding similar items. It's a shame because they could have had those sales if it wasn't for her rude behavior. I shared the story with my other bridesmaids who will also be avoiding going to that store and girlfriends in the WhatsApp group. Working in the service industry myself, kind behavior goes a long way. So I really hope this review comes in the form of an area of improvement and she gets the training she needs. There was a beautiful lehenga in the window and I fell in love with it immediately when I tried it on! Not wanting to make a decision too quickly, I went to tens of other shops in the area but nothing could compare to Khajana in style and quality and service. The shop owner was so kind when I returned to take my measurements and they worked closely with me to design a custom blouse style for the lehenga exactly how I wanted it.
