I also had the pleasure of speaking to her one on one and she told me she majored in fashion studies which suits her perfectly seeing as she's so good at her job. She deserves all the praise and more seeing as she helped me find my dream wedding dress. My day is going to be magical because of her, because I'll look my best in something she helped me pick out. I came for 2 appointments. For my MOG dress. That was quick and painless. My assistant was great. She picked excellent dresses and I picked my dress for his wedding. Now for the bridal appointment. That started late. We didn't get an update. We had checked in on time, because we were already there for my appointment. The attendant for my daughter was very nice. I just didn't like the wait. I was a walk-in with no appointment. They were busy but were able to accommodate me and provide excellent service and guidance on finding a bridesmaids dress in such a short time frame. I walked in knowing exactly what I was looking for and they were able to quickly show me what was readily available. My experience was wonderful and rather quickly as I fell in love immediately with the first dress I tried on. I chose not to do my alterations there since all I needed was a hemming done and I was taking the dress to my own seamstress. Everything else fit perfectly. The thing that drew me to Seng Couture was their selection. They have 3,000+ dresses and 25+ designers. They had plenty of dresses within my budget, unlike other shops with a much smaller overall selection. They had a wide range showing me dresses for as little as 1k. According to their website, prices range 1-6k. Jaclyn was a dream to work with! I am not a big fan of shopping and trying on dresses. Jaclyn made the whole process so easy! She listened to my feedback and helped find me not only 1, but 2 dream dresses over the span of 2 appointments. She knew the inventory so well that she would hear the smallest comments I made and have a new dress suggestion in only a few minutes. I highly recommend her and Seng Couture! The facility was clean and really comfy for both my mother and mother in law to sit and enjoy the dress trying on experience. I went during the week which was a nicer, quieter experience. I highly recommend a Monday-Friday appointment if you can swing it to avoid the chaos of the weekend. Another big perk they have is a discount off your second dress, discounts or 2 dresses for family or friends, free basic alteration. The free alterations was a MAJOR draw for me, since alterations can get very pricey. I had a fabulous experience with Yvonne, and she did not rush me. She is a ray of sunshine, and was careful to stay in my dress budget. I love that Seng has so many dresses-- one caught my eye as I passed and was able to try it on- It ended up being over budget-- and was asked if it was okay to pull more similarly priced dresses, which was fine. That first dress i pulled ended up being a serious contender but I ended up going with another that I am in love with. Sometimes reps from the designer are there to get bride feedback, and by luck I was able to talk to her about if I should customize the dress or not, which I decided against (you dont know how it wil look). read more

With mom, grandma, aunt and cousin in tow we all headed out to see what my niece picked out to wear in her special day. upon entering the store we were greeted by Anthony. I was so excited to come to Seng Couture. I brought my mom, future MIL, sisters, and bridesmaids and for a big group it was a great space to do so. There is a curtain that divides the bride from their guests which makes the reveals of each dress so fun and dramatic. After trying on several dresses and getting a better idea of what I wanted, the women helping me brought out some more for me to try on and my whole group fell in love with a gown. I began to speak about logistics of committing to this dress - timing and price, which is where my experience went downhill. They said they didn't know the price and had to check the tag when I got out of the dress and with just a curtain separating me from my whole group they read the price to me which was over my budget. I was so confused because when I booked the appointment I had to confirm my budget, and they reached out to me only the day before to confirm it again. I asked why they would show me dresses outside my budget without informing me prior? It felt unfair and I was extremely disappointed, especially when we checked the other dresses they had brought to me which were even more expensive. They consulted management that provided a discount but I was still very upset with how this was handled and that no one in management spoke directly to me. This was the 5th store I have been to and all others have been extremely respectful and mindful of my budget which is how I assumed they all would be. This ended up being a factor in choosing a different store to purchase my dress from and I wish I had a better experience to write about. read more

I did a review almost 2 years ago what a great experience I had which was true. ABSOLUTELY RUN FROM THEIR ALTERATIONS DEPARTMENT. from my first fitting to my second one they didn't do any adjustments. I spent a total of 3 and a half hours there going back and forth with me about changes that need to be made and by the end the dress was still hanging off of my body. You could completely see down the dress even after I asked many times to take it on the sides so it fit on my body. The seamstress' response was to "use fashion tape to hold it down". I ended up having to take the dress to a different seamstress to actually make the changes so the dress fit me and so you couldn't see down the dress. My mom bought a dress from them that came with a jacket. They made her pay more for a smaller jacket. When the dress came in she went to try on the dress and jacket and they sent the larger jacket instead of the smaller one. They said the manufacturer made a mistake and ordered the smaller one for her. When the smaller one came in it was a different dye lot and the dress and jacket were to different shades of black. The manager came over and showed no consideration that there was an issue with the different shades of black. She played it off as there was no issue and me My wife, and my mother also saw that it was a different shade. She said that there was nothing she could do about it and that she would reimburse us $75. It wasn't even for the money. It was just that they showed no consideration or care about the issue. Very poor customer service. Do not recommend this place at all. Only looking to take your money. read more

Although this is a beautiful store with alot of inventory,the owner did not stick to my price point of under 1,000 and showed me dresses that were 2100 to 2700 and honestly nothing really special and to my liking and body type.I am petite and was told ,you need a custom dress which i found offensive since I am a 4petite in regular clothing.After showing me some dresses,the owner said,I think we are done for today.I agreed but her saying it was kind of rude and made me want to get out of there as quick as possible.Interestlingly enough,I found a beautiful dress at Castle Couture and was not made to feel like a freak due to my size. read more

They used to have a great shop, very personal. You felt like they really cared about you. Then they moved to this big strip mall shop and became just like all the rest. Fake. Overpriced for bad gowns. My daughters gown looked beautiful, but the gown "grew" and stretched out within an hour. The bustle buttons all broke off so her bustle didn't stay. We had issue after issue with the "removable" sleeves and not only did I buy one pair for over 300, but I had to buy a 2nd pair because the first pair was altered totally wrong, and they made me pay for the 2nd pair!!! The $750.00 veil was not pressed and was wrinkled and the bridal party had to steam it at the wedding venue. Also...not us, but while my daughter and I were there for a fitting, we heard the young woman next to us trying on dresses. The person helping her was downright mean. DO NOT go here. You would be better off at a little shop that will give you the care and kindness and individual attention that all brides deserve for their special day. read more

NJ BRIDES BEWARE MAJOR DRESS MALFUNCTION My rant is long and was hard to write but here is a brief summary to get the message across : **I bought my wedding dress and got my alterations at Seng Couture in Fanwood, NJ. The bodycon fit of my dress came undone in the party bus on the way to the church and left terrible, very noticeable stretch marks on my dress. I discovered what had happened seconds before going down the aisle and held off the wedding by 20 min trying to fix it. I told them a few days after my wedding and Seng Couture blamed me, didn't even exercise the thought that it could have been their fault.** Seconds before my ceremony, the priest was helping me find binder clips so that the stretch marks could be pulled back enough to not have noticeable. (Crazy yet desperate attempt) Seng couture definitely messed up. They messed up even harder when they did not own up to their mistakes and make things right between us. Seng couture will claim that it was wet flower stems, okay, if so why are all the dots so perfectly spaced apart? Why is the pattern going across my legs? Seng couture will claim that I lost weight so that's why it wasn't fitted...but I told them the whole dress changed form that day. While getting ready at my parents it fit like a glove. When I got to the church, I could feel that the dress changed form. Here's what really happened: The material was stretched while it was pinned back for alterations. Giving me that super fitted feel. Once undone, the stretch marks (from pulling the fabric) came out like bumps all over the section of my legs that I had taken in with the seamstress so much. I realized in the mirror that my dress had lost its form in the back, instead of being fitted to my hips (and backside) it laid as a bag, showing no figure. I was devastated. Seconds before the biggest moment of my life, I felt devastation. I emailed Seng to tell them what had happened and how I expect compensation for spoiling my mood moments before getting married. A wedding dress needs to be danced in, jumped around in, it can't come undone from one party bus dance on the way to the church. They had every alibi ready... saying I must have messed up the dress with water or lost too much weight (what drop 10 lbs in 2 hours?). They were not willing to hear me out or even sympathize with me. They wanted me to bring the dress in (an hour drive for me) and have it inspected by one of THEIR people to tell me whether it was my fault or not. Without any promise of potential compensation. My fellow brides, PLEASE avoid Seng Couture at all costs. Yes I got my dream dress. But I realize, what really matters is buying your dream dress from the right place. One of the worst possible things happened to my dress. This already makes me wish I chose a different place. Then on top of that, they didn't give a shit and told me in (many ways) how it must have been my fault and that they are firm in doing nothing about it. I want to get the word out there so that no bride has to feel the way I felt. Learn from my experience!! Don't think it can't be you! I never thought my dress would go wrong. Out of all the possible scenarios I played out in my head of what could go wrong, my dress was the last one. Wedding planning is all about preventing many things from going wrong, because unfortunately something will go wrong... Just don't let it be that crazy expensive dress you had your heart set on. Seng Couture came through for me! I had purchased a mother of the bride dress from a very famous bridal shop in New Jersey, there were problems with the dress they had ordered a larger size and messed up the alterations. I had three weeks until the wedding, I needed to get a new dress. I called Seng Couture and asked if they sold samples off the rack. I was told to go on their website and dresses with the green tag were dresses that are in stock available to purchase. I made an appointment for the next day which was a Sunday, send them five of my choices and they would be available and ready for me to try on for my appointment. I arrived for my appointment 15 minutes early, they told me that I could look through the rack and pick out any additional dresses that I may like to try on. When I found the perfect dress, they made an appointment for my alterations the next day. Everything went smoothly I went back to pick up my gown there were some minor adjustments needed, I went back the following day put it back on and everything was perfect. Seng Coutur saved my daughters wedding for me I would recommend them to anyone who needed a mother of the bride dress or gown for a formal occasion. I bought a mother of the bride/groom dress at Seng Couture in N. Plainfield. I told the salesperson that I wanted a certain color and wanted to keep it under $1,000. She brought in several and I chose one of them that was just around that price point. When I was sized for it, I was told I measured 2 sizes larger than my normal size. I said I was surprised by this, but was told that it was important to go with the measurements. I trusted the process, figuring they were the professionals. I asked about alterations and was told that their seamstresses were very reasonable and that any necessary alterations would be easy to do. When my dress came in, I tried it on and questioned the salesperson about the fit because it was way too big. I was assured that it could easily be taken it. I wanted to go to my own seamstress and so I took the dress with me, after needing to sign for it before being able to take it. My seamstress told me that the dress was ordered 2 sizes too big and that it would need extensive work due to both the size and the lace and beading on it. She gave me a quote of just under $800!!! She also said that I was going to need several fittings in order to make it right because we were basically reconstructing the dress. I called over to the store because at this point I had no interest in going forward with this dress. I was told that I had signed for it and that they would not take it back. A manager asked me to "give them the courtesy" of having the opportunity to give me a quote for the alterations. So I went in and was told there that they would charge me a bit OVER $800! The seamstress was very nice and could understand my frustration. I said that I really didn't want the dress anymore and would appreciate it if the store would take it back, giving me just a partial refund. I honestly just wanted a few hundred, that way I would accept partial blame, but would not be out the full cost of the dress... and they would then be able to sell it and make money off the whole situation. The seamstress said she thought that was a fair request and then went and asked the manager about this. She came back and told me that they were not willing to give me anything for it, accepting no responsibility at all! The good news is that I ended up finding a similar dress at Nordstrom in my correct size that only needed to be hemmed...and only cost me a fraction of the cost of the first dress. Unfortunately I still have the first dress that I am left with having to try to sell. I am so very disappointed in this store. I honestly felt so stupid. The manager just kept repeating that I had signed for it. To that I said that yes, I signed for it because it was the only way I could take it to have my seamstress look at it, and that I TRUSTED the women at the store who helped me. I felt totally misled and there was no concern from the managers about the situation I was in. They had gotten their sale and then washed their hands of me. read more

The store is beautiful and the inventory is wonderful. They told me they could make me a certain style sleeve and did not deliver. I had to find a shrug to wear because I did not want sleeveless, their idea of sleeves was to give me thick spaghetti for two hundred dollars. The alterations were horrible , around my breast area was way to big. She would not take it in. She told me they would and each time the took the dress back just didn't do it. At the last fitting I was given all kinds of excuses why it cannot be done. The alterations are very expensive here they are overpriced. I had to find a seamstress to take it in. What a difference it made to the dress. I suggest you find another place that knows how to do alterations. Alterations can make or break the gown. read more

When I walked in and met Armanda I was instantly relieved. She was such an amazing soul & so good at what she does . I'm so grateful for making my dress experience so fun and light . I can't believe all the bad reviews that I'm reading! My daughter got her wedding dress here and everything was amazing from start to finish. Alanna was her stylist and she was very nice, interested in what we had to say and took her time with us. They measured my daughter perfectly! The dress needed little alteration and the alterations they did were perfect. One fitting and done! Stress free! I had the exact opposite experience at Castle Couture with my other daughter a few years ago. Worst experience ever but I won't get into that here. Seng's store is beautiful! Many headpieces to choose from as well! Everything went smooth from start to finish. Please check out this store for yourself. Just one note: they say alterations are free but what they should say is " basic" alterations are free like a straight hem or taking up the shoulders. The worst experience ever!!! They do not live up to what they sell, my brides was ruined. She paid $1300 for alterations that were done incorrectly and incomplete where the day of the wedding at the reception hall. We had to go to the store to get a box of safety pins just to have her gown fit, right, they sell you the world extremely expensive, and do not deliver the day you pick up your gown, and when it was brought to their attention with videos and pictures, they want nothing to do with us basically take your money and don't call us. They made our wedding day. Very stressful. I wouldn't go to them for a Girl Scout outfit. read more

I purchased a mother of the bride dress and they ordered a size 12 and I argued that I'm an 8 and they said it has to be bigger for better alterations. So since it my first time I purchased the dress and they said it would take 3-4 months and it took 6 months!! A week later I went to get it altered and basically had to get it all nipped and tucked. They ended up putting in a sort of bustier to keep the dress up and hem so much if it that I could have made another dress for a child. Ridiculous. I told them not to order me such a big size. Anyway the alteration ended up costing me another $600. Omg I was so pissed off. I paid it course because the wedding was in 2 weeks. Fast forward here I am at the wedding and within an hour the hem fell apart and the plastic wire in the bustier dug into my stomach and scared me for life. After the wedding I went into the shop and complained and they basically blame it on me and refused to take the blame. After a while they told me that the owner will call me and it's been two months and still I haven't received a call. This is the worse bridal shopping ever and would never recommend it to anyone!!! Prior to my appointment they sent a link for me to choose a few dresses for them to have ready for me to try on. Upon arrival, they had the dresses ready and Allana was very attentive. She asked what I liked and what I didn't like and would pull additional dresses that I might be interested in. She was very knowledgeable of what the alterations would be to the dresses and was so nice and easy to work with! Given that my wedding is on March 19, 2022, I bought a dress off the rack to ensure I would have it in time.
