If you think this Walmart sucks, you obviously haven't been to the one in Union on US-22--now THAT one is terrible. For the most part, items here are stocked well and properly. I don't recall seeing any clothes dropped on the floor or items on the wrong shelf or metal hanger. The main thing that bugs me is that there are a lot of items that have such a thick layer of dust on them, especially in the automotive section. Employees here actually work, are friendly, and are helpful. Those are overly ambitious expectations and hell of a lot more than what I could say for the Union branch. Can you tell how much I despise that location? I feel like my IQ decreases each time I'm there. Okay, how about now? The checkout lines can be slow since the cashier's seem to be very calm, which is actually nice. However, I recommend the self checkout since they can move a little too slow at times. I seriously don't know why I do it. I always end up in a Walmart and I always end up regretting it. I feel I spend so much time hunting for what I need and dodging everyone and their inability to push shopping carts, that when I'm at my breaking point, I have to talk myself down from just running out the door. I do love the wide variety of products I can get here, at great prices, but my sanity is severely tested in any one of these stores, but this review is about a specific location, so here we go. For some reason, I felt like the store was sideways. Weird analogy, but I don't know how to explain it. It was a big store, but I feel like the aisles were super narrow in a lot of places. I could barely squeeze by another customer and her cart in the chip aisle. Then, when you get to the end of a merchandise aisle, there is a ton of products blocking the main flow of traffic. So , while it's normally impossible to navigate through the stores, this made it even harder. There was me and my cart going one way, someone in front of me with their cart, two sets of people/carts coming the opposite way. A family of 5 decided they didn't want to wait and squeezed through the middle of our carts. All while 3 associates were waiting in line to get through the same way. Really??? I'm sure there has to be some sort of fire hazard violation the way the non merchandise aisles are set up. When I got the the register, the lady was soooo slow and was more concerned about her conversation with the other cashier than she was with turning the register display so I could see the total. Yeah, she didn't tell me the total. She just kept pointing to the backwards display, so I had to walk around my cart to see it. I despise this place! read more

This was one of the most unorganized Walmart's I have ever been to. Everyone has been to Walmart before, but this was not like the others I couldn't even find the things I needed because it was so unorganized that I ended up just leaving. The employees are young and I'm incompetent. They were doing nothing but messing around with each other, laughing and cursing meanwhile the store was a complete MESS. Bathroom was filthy as well. Very clean though most Walmart's in central NJ have achieved this same cleansiness standard even the much older ones as this one is only ~4 years old. Very convenient on Rt 27, less crowded entrance is on Rt 27 not off Vineyard Rd to avoid Costco Gasoline's frequent backup. Next to Costco but not shared parking lot. The reason for my 5 stars is because of a specific employee Stacey-Anne she was down in the clearance section pricing things and I was with my sister and stumbled across some facial stuff. We had a 10 minute long convo about facial products and which ones she has used and highly recommend. She stopped what she was doing to attend to our needs and walk us over to the section where they had all the facial treatments and explained the types and even looked at the active ingredients and tell us what it does. I have never received customer service like this at any Walmart. Kudos to Stacey! I never had a problem with any employee they all are attentive when being asked but Stacy didn't just point us in a direction she stopped what she was doing and walked us there and sometimes that takes people a long way. read more

I have been a happy Walmart customer for YEARS!!! I HATE the 'new trend' in the Edison Walmart of still having 2 Registers Open for speedy(max 20 items) BUT only 1 Register Open for the rest of us(with a cart full)!!! The attempt to funnel lines of customers with these full carts to the 'Self Checkout' lines is insulting and very bad business!!! I did comply about 3 weeks ago, it took me much longer...there was someone there to help, but they were there to help ALL 8 registers! I shop during the week in the middle of the day...happened again last week and then yesterday! SO...the MORE you BUY the longer the line you wait in, OR... do the Work of checking and bagging yourself out! I don't understand how this makes sense to Walmart Management! The best and only thing I can say about this location is that it's close to my house. Customer service is the worst. At checkout, no one seems to have any URGENCY. Long lines and they're offering people to get a Wal-Mart credit cards. Add never enough cashiers. They always try to steer you to the self checkout. No. I am not doing their job. Give me like 10%...maybe I will. One out of two people you ask for help, you're lucky to get a the right answer from one. Trying to find a manager or someone in charge is in impossible. I went try some shirts on and needed the changing room. The doors were locked and no one around. Finally after walking around looking someone helps me then when I go back again she leaves. The auto department is always an issue. No one ever around to help. You stand at the counter just waiting for help. No one ever comes out. The store is useful. It has everything you need. On March 1, 2013 I bought a Dell Laptop Computer at the Edison NJ Wal-Mart. I took the Computer home, and a little later on in the day, opened up the box to begin setting the Computer up. Now mind you, this is not my first Computer, and in fact, my Desktop I normally work from, I refer to as FrankenComputer, as I have stitched it back together so-to-speak, with assorted components I have installed, leaving little in it untouched. That said, as I started to go through the initial set-up of my new Laptop, all of a sudden, it's asking for a Password, and not letting me get to the Desktop screen. So I think, okay, maybe I might have made a mistake, so let me call Dell, and see what they have to say. When I got through to the Dell Customer Service Rep, I told them what the problem was, the Rep then asked me for the Express Service Tag number, and the serial number, which I gave the Dell Rep. The next thing the Rep says is-"Oh, so you bought this Computer in January 2012, and it's out of warranty." I replied with-"no, I bought this Computer only 8 hours ago." My next move was to pack up this bargain, and return it to the Store, explaining why I was returning the Computer to the Wal-Mart Customer Service Associate, and also the Electronics Dept Associate. When I told the Electronics Dept Sales Associate what the Dell Rep told me, his response was-"We don't sell refurbished or used Computers." I responded with-"well, if you don't believe me, call Dell yourself." The Sales Associate rather tersely replied that he wasn't calling anyone. Thanks to the wonderful treatment I received from the Wal-Mart Associate, I took my refund, and went to Best Buy to get my new Laptop. read more

I've worked at Walmart before and CSM should be located at the registers and self checkout, however, at this one, there is no CSM by the self checkout and my family had to make an extra trip to get onto the register line to pay for our things all because of a gift card. Place is clean, things are easy to find for the most part. You can.virtually find whatever you need within reason, and in a pinch if nothing is open in the area, you can actually do all your grocery shopping here. All though there is a ton of parking here, spaces are tight. I also recommend avoiding this place on weekends as it's next door to Costco and also a Petsmart is almost completed making it even more congested. I love this walmart. It's clean, located very conveniently to my home, and carries a wide array of items without being overwhelmingly big like some walmarts. Another awful experience with the Site-to-Store pick-up. I checked in on the Walmart app as soon as I parked at the lot. Then, I pressed the call screen when I got to the pick-up counter. Lastly, I called the customer service number multiple times to get a live body to this counter. Even with all these steps, it still took over 10 minutes for someone to show up! No wonder most people hate Walmart! -------------- Awful customer service especially if you order an item online and need to pick it up in the store. This is my poor experience on multiple occasions. There is never anyone waiting at the pick-up area. Ringing the service bell did not summon anyone. Although this pick-up area is next to the employee break room and the rest room, no employee ever offers to help find someone to help with the pick-up. Even when approached, the employee would defensively say "I am on break. It's not my job!" and walk away. The store manager should be fired for such poor management. read more

My friend and I were in Walmart yesterday morning. There were grossly unsanitary conditions in the store. I went to use the men's room and found there was no soap in all 4 soap dispensers. Keep in mind that this establishment serves food. There's a Subways and you can do your food shopping at this Walmart as well. No soap? How do employees wash their hands when they finish their bathroom business? I immediately reported this to the manager and she could not be so bothered. But it gets better... Right after speaking with her, my friend and I resumed our shopping. As we approached the automotive section, we started smelling something horrid. When we got to the section where the bulbs were located, we were shocked to discover feces smeared on the ground. Clearly either a diaper had leaked or something and people had stepped in it and tracked it throughout that section and adjacent sections of the store. I pointed this out to the nearest sales person. He didn't even attempt to cordon off the area. People were still walking into the area, tracking this mess throughout...unbelievable! I went back into the men's room to clean off the bottom of my sneakers. Twenty minutes had elapsed since I spoke to the manager and I thought by then, she would have arranged for the refilling of the soap dispensers. Not so much! They were still empty! We got out of there...the last thing I wanted was to get sick from these grossly unsanitary conditions. read more

Wow, just WOW @ the Customer Service here, I feel like I was in the ending of the movie BeetleJuice, waiting for my Death Certificate Number to be called, I had picked number 4, but someone (most likely a Walmart Employee) stole my number & gave me the number 9,750,678 instead (Sorry the Millennials won't understand this)... I understand that it's Holiday Season & all, but come on, seriously, I bought a product online, to be picked up @ this location & they even confirmed a pick-up time, when I got there, they gave me nothing, saying that I should be receiving an email about a cancellation soon & a refund in a few days?!? Cancellation Email? A refund in a few days? What kind of Operation are they running here?!? I called Walmart.com to explain this situation to them & the lady was sorry & said that the most she can do is give me 10% on my next purchase! Well they can keep their Darn 10% because I'm taking my business elsewhere... Oh yeah & the little girl, who by the way, is on the Nice List, that wrote this letter to Santa, will be receiving an Empty box for Christmas this year! I bought a brand new playstation 4 for this particular Walmart in 2220 State Route 27 Edison, NJ 08817. As I opened the package, to my surprise, the console was already used (with previous users logged in) and the console has visible scratches! In addition, it wont even play games as the cd reader is broken! I opted to return it but the customer service wont honor my request and the manager even had the audacity to blame me that I had another ps4 and replaced it! This was my first unit and I was soo frustrated! Luckily I went to another Walmart place and exchanged it succesfully. It was a nightmare and I thought I wouldnt get my money back. I bought a brand new PS4 in gamestop and it was brand new! BEWARE OF SHOPPING FOR ELECTRONICS in this Walmart (Rt. 27) as they might be rigged and replaced by second hand items! In all honesty, this Walmart is always clustered inside and out. There is always a customer with a family of 5 taking up the entire aisle that you can't get through even if you say excuse me. They continue on with conversations ignoring you and in the meantime, their allowing their kids to Rome around the entire store and having family gatherings in the middle of every aisle were you can't get through even with saying excuse me. Constant traffic jams outside because they don't know how to drive, think they are above law and can park wherever they want. One Sunday I literally walked in and grabbed power steering fluid, went to self check out and drove home which is only a 1/2 mile away. What would of took me maybe 15 minutes turned into 2 hours. Out of all the employees, only 1 of them is polite, courteous, and helpful. I don't know her name all I know is shes American, appreciates her job and customers. Works in customer service/returns She deserves 5 stars for showing appreciation to all customers. But the store is lucky to even receive a rating of 1 from me.
