After my recent trip to Japan I was bummed I wouldn't be able to restock on my favorite products anytime soon until I came across this place! Between the pink shopping carts, claw machines, and overall set up, this place radiated good vibes!

Even the packaging for everything was so cute that you didn't want to open it! In the future, I hope they can add better signage because it can be tricky to find what you're looking for. Stop by to shop if you're looking for any of the following: *Asian cosmetics- They have everything from makeup to skin care to hair care. There's a few well-known Korean and Japanese brands like innisfree, peripera, and more. Testers for makeup products are available! *Asian snacks- Towards the back of the store, you'll be able to see aisles of ramen, mochi, candy, chips, drinks, etc. There's a lot of unique snacks for good prices. *Toys - There's a small section selling character collectibles from popular Japanese culture, plushies, claw machines, and more. There's a bunch of other miscellaneous items like slippers, luggage, silverware, etc. Oh... and they have pink shopping carts! I'm a sucker for pink.

This location specializes in action figures, statues, retro home consoles, and other keepsakes. As I entered the store, it had the feel of a museum because many items are not available in retail stores. I was especially impressed with the detail of the action figures. The characteristics of each trait are handcrafted perfectly and I can guarantee you will instantly recognize each specific trait. There is a diverse variety of additional merchandise in True Believers. An entire wall is filled Funko Pop! vinyl figures. Although I don't collect any cards, there are many Pokémon trading cards available; they are surprisingly valuable. The video game systems will also keep you entertained. Engage in the Game Boy or neutralize the bad guys with the Nintendo Zapper; now you are playing with power! Although I currently am not in the market for any novelties, it was still a neat experience exploring this store. It is a must visit for true believer that is young at heart. #truebelievers #menloparkmall

If you are not sure if they have a certain item, you can always ask them, and they can tell you. Items: They have a lot of anime items such as plushies, figurines, collectibles, cards, Funko Pops, and so much more! They have anime items such as One Piece, Naruto, Dragon Ball Z, Initial D and etc. They even have some stationary items as well. They also sell snacks and drinks in this store. Pricing: The prices here are decent and some items are actually cheaper than I thought they would be. The prices can range around $5.00 and up depending on what item you are willing to purchase. Overall: I would definitely come back here to purchase some other items that they have in stock. I am so glad that they opened this anime store in New Jersey instead of me driving all the way to New York. Also, I hope they keep up with this wonderful customer service.

I want to tell you about a holiday kindness done for my family by a local business…read more My family is a comic book loving family. I donated my old collection of books and graphic novels to the high school, we hit all the movies, etc. Of course this makes us supporters of the geekery here in Matawan. So much so, I follow them across social media. Well at the start of March when the pandemic was starting to get noticed, I lost my job as a private company school bus driver because of school closures and my son became very sick, not covid related. Worryingly sick. We were at the ER three times, ended up with a specialist at Children's Hospital in New Brunswick, and finally a diagnosis with an autoimmune disease, something terrifying during a pandemic. It's been hard and scary, and now we're stuck inside like my son is the boy in the bubble, and I've talked about this on Twitter over the past month. Well the geekery reached out to me on Twitter. They noticed its been a hard time for us and how sick my son has been and asked if they could bring him an Easter basket to brighten his day. Less than 5 minutes later there was a package on my back doorstep. Thank you to the geekery for offering something fun and unexpected! It's good there's still kindness being shared during this frightening time. I hope when this is all over and we can start going out to the shops again, the geekery is still around filled with heroes both fictional and very real.

In addition to that, they also bring the trending bommais of every year here. Ramji sir is very helpful in selection, and shares media or info promptly. Last and most importantly, their shipping is impeccable. They have shipped various clay (more fragile) and paper mache bommais with great care and packaging without an incident. If you're looking to purchase Golu in the US, look no further. This is the best place I know of and can personally recommend. UPDATE on 9/23 after two packages received within a week, feedback as sent to Mr. Ramji - Received all the Bommais today and just undid the packaging. All looking exquisite and of beautiful craftsmanship. Thanks for the Bulletproof packing, can't imagine how painstaking it was but it's even better than what you would get from India My turmeric packets from NJ are growing as well, it's a sweet traditional touch. Also really appreciate the extra large trash bag, it's an instant motivation to clear up what we would usually end up procrastinating!

Note: This shop is currently located at 105 N Union Ave, Cranford, NJ 07016 (they moved across the…read morestreet from 102 years ago). I have submitted this change and their updated hours to Yelp to change this listing. I grew up going to comic shops almost weekly. I have fond memories of going to places like Forbidden Planet's original two floor Manhattan location, Jim Hanley's Universe near Herald Square and Bill & Bob's in Brooklyn. As a young Nerd these were formative experiences that I treasure. Sadly, as the digital era encroaches on publishing, comic shops are not as common as they used to be. There was a time were almost every other town or neighborhood had one, but nowadays they are few and far between. I used to go to Classic Comics in Rahway but they went downhill at top speed a long time ago (and have since closed). When I was hunting for a new shop to park my pull list Rogue Comics came up in my searches and I'm so glad it did. While I originally went to the location across the street, not much has changed with its new location. This is a medium sized comic shop, so not as big as say, the current Forbidden Planet in Manhattan but it doesn't need to be. A lot of the goods here are condensed, almost to the point of clutter at times but that just means there are plenty of treasures to be found. Roughly the layout is Transformers, blind boxes, DC, Marvel and Diamond Selects stuff towards the front. Then a wall of Marvel and DC comics with new releases in the middle. Towards the back are more obscure comics and a Star Wars section. Lining the upper shelves near the ceiling are higher end items like HasLab vehicles or Hot Toys/Sideshow style figures. At the main counter are lots of statues on display (and of course, for sale). Pete, the owner is awesome. One of the things Geeks love to do is "talk shop" about the latest goings on in the world of scifi/fantasy and comics and he is a font of knowledge. If you need something he doesn't have, he is more than happy to see if he can get it for you. I have my pull list set up at Rogue and I rarely have issues with it. Maybe once in a blue moon an issue may be missing but I just look through it, ask about it and most of the time it's in the box somewhere so no big deal. The prices at Rogue are fair given that it is a small business. For action figures, don't expect Amazon prices, but given they often have stuff you won't find in stock at say, Target, the extra few bucks are well worth you burning gas to find the figure all over town. I love Rogue Comics and recommend it to anyone interested in scifi/fantasy collectibles and comics.
