I really like this TJ Maxx! The store is clean, well-organized, and usually has a great selection of clothes, home décor, and beauty products. The staff is friendly and helpful if you need assistance, and checkout lines move fairly quickly most of the time.I've found some great deals here. Especially in the fragrance and home goods sections. Sometimes the shelves can get a little messy during busy hours, but overall, it's a pleasant shopping experience and one of my favorite TJ Maxx locations in the area. read more

This large well-stocked store made shopping fun with my Yelpies mom.It had ample items to find winter fuzzy boots and specialty Peanut themed Hot chocolate. Gifts for her grandchildren like designer dresses with matching fuzzy handbag . Spending time together and laughing through the store was the best part. Christmas shopping can be stressful and coming here was nothing like that. Their huge selection and cleanliness throughout the store made it easy to navigate through the departments. A few days ago, I went shopping at TJ Maxx. During checkout, the cashier told me that if I applied for a rewards card, I could get a 10% discount. I thought this was just a regular rewards card like other retailers offer, so I agreed to apply. Everything seemed fine, and within three minutes, they informed me that my application was approved. It was only then that the cashier mentioned that this was actually a credit card with a $300 limit. I was furious because, during the entire time she pitched the rewards card to me, she never once mentioned that it was a credit card. Her attitude was dismissive, as if she didn't care about my concerns. I asked to speak with her manager, only to find out that the manager had been standing right beside her, witnessing the whole thing without intervening. The manager also told me, with a helpless look, that the credit card had already been issued and that they couldn't help me cancel it on the spot--I would need to call the credit card center myself. This is a complete scam, and based on how smoothly they handled the situation, it's clear this isn't the first time they've done this. They are repeat offenders. I unknowingly opened a credit card that I didn't need. Even if I cancel it, the fact that I opened a credit card will have a lasting negative impact on my credit score. Both the cashier and the manager at this store are deceptive. I am extremely disappointed, and there's no way to undo the damage done. My trust in TJ Maxx has been completely shattered. read more

I like this store and often feel they have good deals. The holidays and weekends though, the lines can be quite long. The selection here is ok, service is on point. I usually never have problems when I come in. Just don't come in during peak hours and times to avoid long lines. read more

We usually come to this branch every Sunday after Mass and on Sept 17 my daughter and I were here and bought some clothes. When we were at the fitting room, there were hardly carts available and when we saw one, I told my daughter let's just leave your bag on it (by the fitting room CART Parking) because it didn't have valuables anyway since she only had her water bottle in it. Lo and behold after we tired on the clothes and returned to the attendant at the fitting room, our cart is gone with her bag. (Which is a Calvin Klein bag we bought at this same store the week prior) I asked the attendants if they saw our cart but apparently didn't see anything, I asked the cashiers in front and they said no one has turned my daughter's bag in there as well. At this point I just kept looking around for people with their carts and possibly my daughter's bag on it. I asked the manager for help like to pull up their camera that way I can see who am I looking for out inside the store but they said SECURITY is OFF ON SUNDAYS (wow, really?!) and all I can do was file a police report. Well before we left the store, when I was about to pay our stuff at the cashier, I just instinctively said let me check one more time for people by the cashier and voila, saw a man with our cart and my daughter's bag and when my daughter asked for her bag, he just said: GO AHEAD take it. We just got lucky we found the bag. When I told the manager to maybe put a face on the man who got my daughter's bag to warn them of future situations he just told me it's a police matter and that the important thing is that my bag came up and we retrieved it. Unfuckinbelievable. So be warned people: There's no security on this branch on Sundays. Be careful with your stuff, never leave them unattended You will not get any help from the management in this store. read more

This is one of the better TJ Maxx in Central Jersey. It's bright, spacious, very neat, and organized. I get dragged into these type of stores often when with my wife, so I know. Other locations, most times the items are out of place or off their shelves, where employees can't be bothered to return them (this is seen early after opening). You can find home goods, small furniture, men's and women's clothing, children's clothing, since and perfume, jewelry and watches, handbags, and women's shoes. Sadly there isn't children's or men's shoes here. Still, they offer some good deals on these items and their clearance items have even better prices, albeit there may be issues like, out of box, out of season, opened, or slight damage. Also, brands sold here are not as high end as a nordstrom rack. This location offers a nice shopping experience for those looking for bargains whether personal or for gifts. read more

Went to this store today , a customer went in without a mask on and I notified the staff there. Give her the credit that she chased after him, but only came back saying the he doesn't want to wear it, another employee said that he came in without mask all the time. If you are okay with combing through racks of 'surprise clothes' (as in you never know what you will find) this is the place for you! The staff try to keep the place as clean as possible. They have a great bag section at this location (not a very good shoe section). They also have a jewelry counter full of gorgeous pieces (not every Marshalls/TJ Maxx has this). One of the most organized and clean TJ Maxx that I have been to! It has everything from kids wear, house wares, accent chairs, pillows, women's purses, jewelry and more! All the employees were super friendly always greeting me and saying have a good day which is atypical for my last few Marshall's/home goods experiences! Definitely a decent size store! read more

This is one of the biggest, organized and cleanest Tjmax I ever been in. The bathroom was like none I've seen in a department store as far as cleanliness and smell. I'm here and there with TJ Maxx. But, here, I was a little disappointed. They have a great number of selections of things to buy, but there isn't a huge variety here. They do sell good shoes, and everything here is at a good low price. Sections are too small, and it didn't make me want to buy anything. The variety is why I give it an extra star. The clothing here is also pretty good, Good variety of shirts. Nothing else in the store is that big. The store isn't super clean, and the staff seemed okay. Stopped in after I finished class because I normally don't get over this way too often. This was my first time visiting. When I first walked into the women's section , the racks seemed a bit scattered, so I figured it was going to be a quick trip. As I started digging a bit deeper though, I started to see that they actually offered a bigger selection than the East Brunswick location. Tons of skirts and business wear. Lots of jackets and just more of a selection in general. Perhaps because of this volume, the store was a lot messier than the EB store. The shoe section was a decent size and they had more of a choice for size 5, which is rare! Another struggle of being so tiny and trying to shop retailers. The home section wasn't too extensive and the Halloween section was non existent. Which was a huge bummer. I ended up leaving with nothing, but that was because it was really hot in the dressing rooms and I thought I might pass out, so I left. I will be returning! Love TJ Maxx! read more

Hate all the drama the girls behind the register talk about. Like literally I don't need to hear about how an employees family member called and how many problems that person has. On another occasion they were talking about their own colleagues work performance. How about a "hi, how are you?!" "Did you find everything you needed today?!" Or if you have nothing professional to say don't sit there and talk about other people and complain. Other than that this place can use some remodeling. I typically find what I need and just have a habit of buying everything else extra because I'm obsessed with the prices. Btw they can use some help dumping out all the garbage in the clearance section. There's broken items things, missing parts, make up section has open products that are empty. The door is very eclectic in regards to what it has. For clothing, the jewelry, to some foods, kitchen stuff. Prices are fairly reasonable. Usually staff pretty well for someone to assist you. I prefer Marshalls but this TJ Maxx is not bad. The store could use an updating as far as their lighting and the shoe department here is tucked away in the corner. You definitely have to pick through each hanger but there are a couple quality brand items throughout the store if you take your time. Let me just start off by saying that I have been regular and loyal TJ Maxx/Marshalls shopper for various items from things for myself and gifts for others for the past 2 years. As for selection and uniqueness of items and the price, the store chain itself gets a 5 star rating from me. I'm always pleased with the purchases that I find and experience at the stores. This review is based on a single customer experience that I had at TJ Maxx in Edison that really caught me off guard and made me feel disrespected by an employee named Ann. I had been in the store the day before and saw a nice nail polish in the racks as you wait in line. I didn't pick it up bc I wasn't sure about it, but the next day I thought I'd try and see if it was still there and if it was I would get it. I walked in 5min before closing time and the doors were open and I thought great! I'll see if it's there really quick. As I walk in, I had already made it to the beginning of the line where other people were entering as well to check out and was on my way to the polish section when the woman Ann said to me from the register "Ma'am, we're closed. You have to leave." I looked around and saw other ppl still shopping all over the store. Mind you, I'm not at the door or even in the area before the line - I'm already IN THE LINE. I then tried to explain to her and say what I was there for and I said "but the item I'm looking for is.." She VERY RUDELY cuts me off and says "Didn't you just walk in??" I said, yes, but I'm here for", and she proceeds to speak very loudly over me and say, "AND WE'RE CLOSED. YOU HAVE DON'T HAVE ANY TIME TO SHOP". Since she was at the register and I'm on line, she is now talking loud enough for all to hear and everyone is looking at me. And then I continued very calmly and said, "Yes, but the item is in the checkout.." and before I could even finish she put up her hand up at me as if to say 'whatever, shoo be gone', turned her head and walked away as I was still speaking to her. I was like what just happened. This woman was SO. NASTY. Not only was I embarrassed but I felt very disrespected and uncomfortable being in the line. What did you want me to do Ann, walk out of the line that I'm already in? Are you going to tell the other shoppers who weren't in line like me to walk out too? There were still customers shopping all over the store! If you were not taking any more customers you should have closed your doors or had someone at the door turning people away if you wanted them to stop coming in 5min before you close. That's not my fault. This review is more for TJ Maxx than other customers bc let's face it, at the end of the line we just want to check out with our purchases. I don't think it's right to treat anyone with such disrespect. She could have acknowledged that people were still able to walk in and sent someone to the door to close it after me or at least heard me out without continuously and VERY RUDELY cutting me off with her nasty attitude when I was speaking to her. I don't know if others have come across a rude experience with this person Ann or if she treats other employees this way too but if she does at least TJ Maxx is aware that they have this type of person on their team. I don't care if you're the store manager or whoever you are it's not even about customer service, it's about common courtesy. Shame on you Ann read more

Although I usually like to shop in TJ Maxx I just had an experience that has really disappointed me and will think twice about shopping there in the future. I purchased 2 jackets years ago and still like them and wear them. Several buttons have been lost and I am having a hard time replacing them or finding anything even close. Called customer service and asked if I could contact the manufacturer to see if they had similar buttons available. I said I would pay for them. I was told to send an email to TJ Maxx customer service and they would decide if they couId help. I did so and received an email from someone named Maddalena who obviously did not even read my email--she spoke about finding the jacket not about the buttons. She completely blew me off. The manufacturer ( Lucy and Laurel) is still providing clothing to TJ Maxx so is still in business and a vendor of the store. How difficult would it be to pose the question to them about the buttons- especially if I am willing to pay for them. If they can't help, that's fine BUT maybe they can------so why not make an effort for one of your customers. Very disappointing experience!!!!!!! read more

This store is a hit & miss. The shoe department is terrible. They don't have a good selection of cloths compare to a few years ago. The hand bags are the worst. The store need more stylish and variety of wear. read more
