I am so happy to see Bridgewater Commons coming to life again! I grew up a stone's throw away from this mall, had many an after school hang out here, had my first date EVER here, had lots of shopping trips here of course... It holds a special place in my heart. The past few years, it felt like a ghost town walking around. There was so many closings, no stores I was excited to go to, it was just not on my radar. But it really does feel like it's having a renaissance! I stopped in last week to make a few returns and was so excited to see so many new stores and a mall full of shoppers. From Pottery Barn, Vera Bradley, Jcrew, a brand new Anthro, and so many other noteworthy shops. I left with a few bags in hand. If you miss your mall shopping days as much as I do, Bridgewater Commons is officially back and worth a visit. read more

This department store is a solid, reliable stop when shopping at the mall. It has a wide selection of clothing, shoes, home goods, and accessories, making it easy to knock out multiple shopping needs in one place. The store is generally well-organized, with clear sections and helpful signage, and most items are easy to find without wandering too much. Staff interactions were mostly positive--available when needed without being pushy. Checkout was smooth, and there were decent sales running, which always helps make the visit feel worthwhile. A few areas could use improvement. Some sections felt a bit crowded or outdated, and inventory in certain sizes or styles was hit or miss. During busier times, lines can build up quickly, especially at customer service. Overall, it's a dependable department store that does what it's supposed to do. Not a bad mall I have been coming here for years. It has a decent selection of store as far as clothing and accessories goes and there's ample parking around the place. Most of the stores are priced moderate to high end. With plenty of well know corporate stores. I find their food court selection not as good as Menlo park mall in Edison. But they do have decent stand alone restaurants like California pizza kitchen and fogo de chao. Overall it's a great place to kill time and get your walking in. read more

I've been coming here since it was built around 35 years ago, so I will always have a soft spot in my heart for this mall. Hundreds of stores have come and gone in the last three decades but the anchor stores Bloomingdale's and Macy's are still here and good to shop in. Mostly I come here for the Apple store these days. Other popular stores are Athleta, Lululemon, free people, and Lucky Brand. In the food court, you can choose from a wide variety of sweet and savory foods. For an older mall, it is well-maintained. The landscaping looks good. The parking lots are big, free, repaved, and well lit. The parking deck was re-done recently. I think this mall has done a good job in keeping up with the times and is a fun place to shop or visit for their special holiday events. read more

A nice mall located in Bridgewater, the outside parking decks might feel like they're aged a bit but the inside has been nicely kept up with green, big open spaces and a food court off to one side upstairs. Plenty of current shops like Lego and L'Occintane, and bright and open spacing inside make it feel modern. read more

I'm not a huge fan of mall shopping anymore. Having grown up in central Jersey in the heyday of malls, I just don't find them to be as fun as when I was a kid. That said, Bridgewater Commons is a pretty decent mall. Three levels of floors, ok food court with additional locations in the mall, and there seems to be something for everyone...even us guys. I didn't end up buying anything today, but daughter and wifey did...so that's a bonus. This isn't close enough to us to become our go-to mall, but it's not too far away...we can make the trek...and probably will again before Christmas read more

Was in the area for a soccer game and took the opportunity to check out this mall. They have a Bloomies, Macys, the regulars such as Express, Hot topic, Spencers etc. Not very large but decent size. Pretty decor, clean, not super crowded for a Sunday afternoon. Large parking and decent food court. read more

With Bloomingdales, Lord & Taylor and Macy's as the anchor stores, and lots of mid range (Michael Koester, Tumi, Everlane, Madewell, Free People) and low end (Payless, Francesca's) stores, there is something for everyone. The sleek Apple store is always busy even when the rest of the Mall is empty. This seems to be the case with Apple stores everywhere. I just don't get it! The Michael Kors store is modern and sleek, always well stocked with the lates styles, different selection than you find in the anchor stores. Love all the small specialty shops. There is no better card store than Papyrus. The patterns and colors are just exquisite. Uniqlo was has some great clothing basics for the entire family at affordable prices. The mall is clean and bright. Of course there are many food choices, the typical food court regulars and chain restaurants - California Pizza Kitchen, Maggiano's Little Italy, Cheesecake Factory) and some standouts like Yong Kang Street Dumplings and Season 52. They even have a movie theatre with a restaurant. This mall has certainly upgraded since I lived in the neighborhood 19 years ago. Whenever I'm back in NJ visiting friends and family, I stop in. We don't have Bloomingdales or Lord & Taylor in Portland, so I like to peruse the anchor stores and the mall to find styles that don't ever make it to the PNW. read more

I've been coming here since 2008 before the AMC was a dine-in movie theater. The mall has changed a little bit since then. The economy downturn has forced more than a few stores to shutdown permanently such as Bose, Microsoft, etc. but they're gone everywhere in every single mall so you can't fault Bridgewater Commons for that. Unfortunately they replaced McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant with Uncle Julio's Mexican Restaurant which is just so-so. The food court is still in great shape with most restaurants I like. Unlike King of Prussia Mall there aren't 4 different food courts, you need to make due with just one here in New Jersey. The stores they have are somewhat high end. This is about as good as it gets in NJ unless you want to step up to The Mall At Short Hills and risk getting car jacked and murdered. What do you expect? It's a Jersey thing!!! read more

Good size mall. They have AMC dining theatre there. 2 1/2 floors of mall and good food court. Parking is free. I used to go there when I was living in west NJ. They also have more stores on other side of main street, too. Its located at nice and easy location which is easy to get to. Near 278, 22 and 78. I haven't been here in a couple of years. Mall has changed with the times. I would say it's geared to the younger shoppers. I enjoyed checking all the shops and strolling from floor to floor. It's always clean and pleasant to shop here. I wasn't looking for anything in particular, really for exchanging a gift at soft surrounding. I would come back around early spring to catch up on the spring colors and fashion. read more

Bridgewater will always hold a special place in my heart. We've been coming here ever since I was a little kid. Over the years, Bridgewater has made some changes, including solar panels on the parking garage, revamped food court, and a fancy movie theater with alcohol and comfy chairs. I used to see Bridgewater as the cool place that kids from Immaculata High School would go after school, especially on a half day. The mall has gotten a bit more "upscale" and bougie over the years, but still has the core stores that you might want at any mall. I always have to make sure to make a stop here when I'm in town. read more

This is actually a pretty decent mall! So I decided to come here on a Saturday evening since I've never been here before and I was pretty impressed. This mall has a lot of the stores that are pretty popular like "Apple", "Express", "Victoria Secret" Bloomingdale's" & "Macy's." The surprising fact is that on a Saturday evening a few weeks from Christmas- this place wasn't even crowded! The mall is very clean, there were some pretty decent sales in here and also about 3 floors. There are also other stores outside of the mall from what I seen but within the same parking lot such as "Crate and Barrel". Additionally, there is plenty of parking outside although you may have to circle around the lot a few times if you are trying to park near the main entrance. Overall, beautiful mall and not as crowded as you would expect on a weekend! Also, it is diverse which is always a great thing- I would come back if I am in the area. read more

I was walking in the mall with my husband and saw the gigantic screens for a store called, "adore me. Personally, I thought the ads were in incredibly poor taste, and inappropriate for children and young people. Why does the mall allow that type of advertisement? It isn't the same thing as models in the window. Those are easily ignored. But those gigantic screens are not. read more

I'm totally surprised I'm the first to review my childhood mall where I literally spent so much time over 30y. Whether as a teenager or a young adult living locally still or a moved out (to 65mi away) adult visiting my folks, this mall has evolved through all the eras of my life, the economy, and retailer's customers' tastes. The wide range of food, retail, services, and community needs served here (primarily events such as holidays and the popular morning walk program) are During COVID, in my 2 visits here since its start, there is an eerie profound silence and inactivity which reminds me of so many YouTubes of waning malls though I note the Commons is far from waning and hopefully only temporarily suffering. It almost feels like the majority of people are staff and workers here tending to a mostly quiet day which incurs emotions from wistfulness to nostalgia to worry to elation at the spaciousness. The reliable NJ Transit bus to/from NYC PABT sits there forlorn and driverless as usual which takes more poetic merit now-a-days. The parking lots where so many energetic families, especially mothers on weekdays, formerly unloaded kids are now exceedingly available. The mall security guard in his/her usual Ford Escape is more bored and lonely than ever. The doors which have seen so many generations pass are now cleaner than ever as they sit too quietly. It's a very emotional experience to behold. Going through, I've recently visited the Apple Store mostly and they've one of the longest lines (due to appointment only and capacity restrictions and higher demand on remote work hardware) of any store. I wrote their review up separately. The foot traffic is very light, primarily folks quickly making their way to their needed deeds only without wandering and loitering, but the spaciousness is more concerning than enjoyable. After such focused, worried time inside, I have to wonder what has happened to life so preciously enjoyed in these spaces for so many decades. I am so happy to see their retail mix adapt to the current era where there is more urgent care, ad-hoc healthcare, online-affiliated retail (experiential over distribution), services (telecom and such), branding retail (Lego store being an early entrant), etc. I remember when I first moved away almost a decade ago, the Commons made radical significant edits to their retail mix away from the classic staid tenants and emphasized a new wave of such retail which pays off especially today when demand is so precious. The interior is the historic classic Commons style of light grey tone tile and thin steel ecoutrements, much a precursor to so many Simon-managed properties (Simon took over some 2 decades ago, early in their US mega-expansion), and I'm happy they've maintained it so well as to look still new amazingly after 30y. Salud to all the designers, maintenance staff, and admin who make this happen thanklessly. In closing, it's a superb mall, come and have a great time, support our local businesses for many are locally owned franchises on which many depend despite flagged as major multinational brands. read more

I love Bridgewater Commons. It's such a chill mall as long as you don't come around the same time the kids must be getting out of school. There's a nice selection of stores and food. It is really the only mall in the area, but I would rather come here than consider driving to Menlo or Woodbridge Mall. Some years ago, they added an outdoor strip area called The Village which is great to visit especially when the weather is nice. A nice bonus is that both The Village and the mall itself have their own Starbucks. The difference is that The Village Starbucks has an outdoor seating area and is hardly ever as busy as the one inside the mall. Bridgewater Commons has three floors but isn't an outrageously large mall. It's always clean and well-kept, and the mall also has a nice seating area, across the street in between the parking lot, on the side of McCormicks & Schmick's. There are rest areas all throughout the mall if you just need a break. Some restaurant highlights include the newest addition, Seasons 52 as well as the Cheesecake Factory. There's also a food court, but there are many other places to eat throughout the mall also. The main department stores located at the end of each wing are Macy's, Lord & Taylor, and Bloomingdales. A side note for all M.A.C. lovers, there are two locations, one is in Macy's near the juniors section and the other one is located in Bloomingdales near shoes and perfumes. I prefer the one in Bloomingdales, especially since I think the majority of people are only aware of the one in Macy's; therefore it's never really busy at the Bloomingdales location. Great mall, good choices, and they seem to be constantly evolving in regards to their choices of stores and services. read more

High-end Mall with Upscale stores! This is a nice mall with not too many teenagers running around. I've been here about 3-4 times and i usually find deals in Macy's. The highlight of my experience is the scarce Nathan's Hot Dogs. I grew up eating Nathan's on the Atlantic City boardwalk, so when i find one somewhere, i get excited. read more

Pretty decent mall with great department stores such as Macy's, Bloomingdales, Lords & Taylor. They also have my faves clothing stores like uniqlo, Francesca, madewell, Victoria secret, Starbucks, Eddie Bauer, Apple, etc. The mall has 3 floors of stores and food court is on the third floor. There's plenty of eatery options including but not limited to Chinese, Japanese, Thai, American, etc. There are also restaurants such as Cheesecake Factory. Overall, the restrooms are clean. There is also a dine-in amc theatre here right off the 3rd floor entrance from the parking deck. I liked the fact that there is deck parking and it is convenient when the weather is bad out whether rain or snow, you, the kids and your vehicle are covered under the deck which is a plus in my book. read more

This mall is a great alternative to the super-busy North Jersey malls. From Hoboken/Jersey City take 78 West to 287 South and you'll be there in about 40 minutes. It's a mid-sized mall with many of the mall retail regulars (J. Crew, Banana Republic, Starbucks), a few surprises (Uniqlo, Crate & Barrel) and solid anchor stores (Macy's, Bloomingdales, Lord & Taylor's). Only absence I noticed was the Gap. There is an AMC multi-theater on premises, a modest, but satisfying food court, and the big restaurants would be Cheesecake Factory and Maggiano's. In my opinion, the desirability factor is that the mall seems to never get crazy-crowded on weekends, unlike others closer to home. So if you're up for the ride, this is an excellent shopping spot. read more

I love coming here. This mall is a hidden Jen among all the other malls locally. All the big name retailers and a lot of fun small businesses. When I'm here I stop at the iCity iPad repair people and I always stop at the bananas healthy shake stand in the food court. Love the muscle builder! Also another secret is Gloria's coffee up stairs by foot locker. Parking is easy. But people are dumb. Lol! read more

I grew up in Bridgewater back in the 1960s and 1970s, moving there is 1966 and leaving for college in 1978. Since 1984 I can probably count the number of times I've visited on one hand. Back in the day, we had no stores in Bridgewater. We had houses, churches, synagogues and municipal buildings. There really wasn't anything else. I remember talk way back when of building an airport to divert traffic from Newark, but it was voted down. I also remember very clearly discussion of building a large mall. If I recall correctly, they wanted to call it the Bridgewater Triangle. From everyone's reactions, I never thought I'd see it in my lifetime. But, between 1978 and today, Bridgewater has changed dramatically. The wealth has certainly gone up - corporate headquarters abound. Hotels, car dealerships, boutiques and big box stores are all over. And, then there is Bridgewater Commons. They placed it where were used to roam fields and forests; streams and brooks. The mall is massive - three levels and as far as I could tell, there were no stores empty. Macy's, Lord and Taylor and Bloomingdale's are the anchors. They seem to have everything. If upscale is your thing, this is the place. We did a little shopping, but didn't end up buying anything. We enjoyed a coffee at Starbucks and had lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. As far as malls go, this is pretty good. Not being much of a shopper I'm sure others of you might go there and drool over all of the fabulous things to buy. Me? No. I like walking the mall and people watching, but I'd rather do my shopping online. None the less, it's nice, but I'd rather see the forests. read more

I love this mall! Three floors to choose from. Large assortment of stores. Parking is very easy! I've been coming here since they first opened many years ago. There is something here for everyone. Macy's, Lord n Taylor, Bloomingdale's and all the other independent stores . There is a nice food court to sit and have a bit to eat. The bathrooms are kept clean. I find all the staff at the Bridgewater mall to be very friendly and courteous. There is also a wonderful movie theater on the premises. One that is geared for adults because they serve alcohol, along with food and the regular one. Both very comfortable, and they play the latest movies! It's a great way to get out and spend a leisurely weekday or weekend ! read more

It's funny that I was staying within a mile of this mall in 2005 and I never went into it, even though I went over to Menlo Park Mall. I was always somewhere near U.S. 1. I happened to be returning from Fort Lee/Edgewater and Rutherford and my path took me right past Bridgewater Commons on U.S. 202. Since it was about 5 p.m. and rush hour (how did I manage that?), I thought it might be better to waste some time, instead of beating my head on the steering wheel. The mall seems a fairly simple design and it's great to have Macy's and Bloomingdales as anchor stores. It didn't seem massive the way Menlo Park Mall feels to me, but it felt more distributed. I think I'd probably spend just as much time trying to find stores but I'd spend more time trying to find where I was at Bridgewater Commons. There were so many stores to see, and I happened to park near the outdoor AMC logo, so there must be a massive multiplex. You could probably stay busy for days. Does U.S. 202 get as much traffic as U.S. 1? I keep comparing the two malls. I'd think for people in-between, they're probably going the opposite direction for all the other things. That may keep Bridgewater Commons more exclusive. read more

I would say one mall is the same as the next, but Bridgewater Commons is great. They have a wonderful variety of stores and restaurants. Since they added the Promenade more stores have been pouring in the doors. My family has been coming to this mall for as long as I can remember and it is really nice to see it evolve through the years and still remain clean and safe. You can find whatever you are looking for (minus a Walmart or Kohls). read more

Ample space to walk around for the exercise if you do not want to shop. Plenty of dinning options to choose from. Overall there is a good selection of stores to choose from. I really do like this mall! It's not the cleanest in my pinion, but it has a great variety of stores, and is very easy to get around, despite it's large size! The mall has your usual stores, such as Hot Topic, Hollister, Abercombie, Spencer's and more/ It has a really large food court with many options such as Saladworks, Master Wok, Thai Kitchen, and more. Has some good sit down restaurants as well. such as Cheesecake Factory, and California Pizza Kitchen. It even has a Dine-In movie theater which is a plus,even though the DIne-in part is usually the bad part, of when going to a dine-in theater! I like this mall a lot. Yeah, time for a revamp. The rating stays the same, though. This mall has been around for a long time. It's easily located off of US-22 (via Commons Way) and US-202/US-206. This mall has three levels filled with stores, with one of them containing a food court. There's also "The Village", which is separate from the main mall unit (but still on the same property) that contains a tiny mix of eateries and boutiques. This mall is anchored by Macy*s, Bloomingdales, and Lord and Taylor. There's also the AMC theater as well. Most of the stores consisted of clothes, shoes, and jewelry. Other stores included electronics and pricey specialties, such as Apple, Microsoft, Brookstone, Godiva, and Swarovski. Once in a while, we come here to look around. We used to buy some stuff in the past, but not anymore. We would end up looking at Macy*s, GameStop, Microsoft, and Apple. Then we would just simply walk around. I remember when the Lindt Chocolate store used to be here. Almost every time we went to this mall, we would end up buying some truffles from them. It's a shame that's long gone. Much of what they have in this mall is quite expensive. Also, even though this mall has three floors, this isn't a big mall. If you were to walk from one side to another on each floor without stopping, then you would be done in a very short period of time. If you're like me, who likes to walk around big malls, then you may not like this mall. The property itself also has a small area called "The Village". This area consists of a mix of upscale clothing and bath & beauty stores. There's also the Crate and Barrel store here too. Finally, there are some restaurants in this area too, including Maggiano's, Starbucks, and Chipotle. Overall, even though this mall has some stores that are worth visiting, there's just nothing too unique about this place. read more

Wow, I haven't been here since I was probably a teenager and boy has it changed. The Commons was always Hot Girl Central when I was a young punk mallrat, back in the days when the mall was rumored to be "sinking" into the ground, not long after it first opened. Today, while the mall itself is still fairly nice with a few good high-end stores, it feels completely soulless from the mall I remember. The Menlo Park Mall is much nicer, cozier, and elegant feeling compared to this. And at least the Freehold Mall has a few options for entertaining the kids. And if you really want high end, well, you of course go to the Short Hills Mall. Yep, I'm a Jersey Boy. I know my malls. And this ain't one I'll be rushing back to. TIP: Park in the parking deck and kick your shopping trip off with a martini or three at the bar at the AMC movie theater when you first walk in. Can't promise any hot girls, though, other than maybe my female Yelp friends who still like coming here. read more

This mall has gone way down hill. The variety of store's are not great. Better off going online. I like to walk around though, try things on....be reminded of how poor I am...Gaze at the window's of most of the clothing store's and, realize I need to loose 40 pounds to fit in half their stuff. Of course I love bath and body works. Secondly there is a t mobile on the second floor which is cool.
