Clark Commons is a nice shopping Center which opened 10 years ago (August 2015). Whole Foods is the Anchor store in this shopping center. There are 4 entrances and 3 exits & sufficient parking; however, the aisles are narrow & congestion is a problem when it's busy. The 27 stores surround the parking lot. There is a nice choice of stores. Many are Chain Stores and Restaurants. I wish they had a Vegetarian or Vegan restaurant. This is a nice outdoor shopping plaza. There are a few places to choose from for dining- Clark Bar and Applebee's for a restaurant vibe, or quick eats like Blaze Pizza, Panera, smash burger, and Panda Express. There is a nice variety of stores as well; Carter's/osh kosh Bgosh, Torrid, Ulta, Hallmark, Petsmart, HomeGoods, Michaels, and others. Also a Whole Foods, so it's a good one stop shop if you shop at these stores and live or commute nearby. There are a ton of great stores outside of the plaza as well, a Barnes and Noble, Target, Hand and Stone, and plenty of good food options are all within a 2 mile radius. The stores are all fairly new and well maintained and the plaza can get a bit busy but there is plenty of parking. This plaza has some good stuff in it. Unfortunately, every time we come here there are randomly a bunch of kids/teenagers trying to be cute always being disrespectful yelling out slurs and even following people antagonizing them, not knowing the trouble they could potentially cause. It's happened twice to us and parents in this area need to teach their kids how not get themselves into something they might not be able to get themselves out of. Thank god that some of our parents have actually raised us well and taught us how to be decent, respectful, and civil human beings, plus not to react and feed into trash-like behaviour. This is especially dangerous for an adult, these kids will potentially get you out of character and a bunch ill mannered entitled kids are never worth it. If you are of a different lifestyle or color, be aware this plaza might not be for you. read more

Back in the 90s (and even before I was born!) and 2K, a factory sat in the spot that is now taken over by this strip mall. The factory was operational, and then they were out of business. Once the factory was torn down, plans on what to do with the open space varied from the unknown, to housing, and recently, to retail! The stretch of Raritan Road that is in front of this complex from ShopRite to Walnut Ave was fun to drive on at high speed with no traffic lights in-between. But everything changed, when this modern new strip mall came around, known as Clark Commons. Driving at high speed on that particular stretch of Raritan Road is gone. Because a new traffic light rests in the middle of that stretch, where the main entrance is located. A separate entrance is also available for those who were coming here from the Central Ave intersection (right turn only). Another entrance is available on Walnut Ave as well (right turn only). The structure that is parallel to ShopRite Drive contains Noodles and Company, VisionWorks, Sleepy's, LA Fitness, and Party City. The main structural unit that's parallel to Raritan Road houses Modell's, Five Below, Michael's, PetCo, Whole Foods Market, Carter's and OshKosh, Dress Barn and HomeGoods. The unit that parallels Walnut Ave houses Hallmark, Ulta, The Vitamin Shoppe, Red Mango, Smashburger, and Blaze Pizza. Applebee's and Panera Bread were situated in separate units. For those who wanted to relax, a small gazebo was available right by a water fountain. Ever since this strip mall opened up, we browsed through Modell's, Petco, Five Below, and HomeGoods. We patronized Whole Foods Market, Applebee's, and Panera Bread (these experiences will be reviewed separately). We also relaxed at the gazebo briefly and looked at the nice, man-made, water fountain. We really loved the close proximity of these retail establishments. I take one star away because of the 4-Way Stop Sign in the intersection of the parking area near the main entrance/exit. I understand why they made it that way. However, we have noticed some very impatient drivers who were trying to eagerly get out of the strip mall, or get in to find a parking spot. For that, they kept driving through the stop signs without stopping. This usually sticks a key into the ignition for accidents. Keep in mind that if you're trying to make a left turn onto Raritan Road, you can only do that at the main exit with the traffic light. Other exits will only make you turn right. The fact that these places are very close-by is a HUGE plus, because this saves me the hassle from driving a farther distance in order to patronize these chain businesses. My favorite place to shop. Home Goods is my favorite. Every store is an asset to this area. Very happy it is so close to me. Very busy on saturdays and Sunday's. Hard to park sometimes. That's when you know it's top notch. There should be a cop or two walking around there. I have seen parking traffic jams and some fender benders. I love this new shopping center. We finally have a closer craft store (Michael's) than on Route 22. Tha Hallmark store is always great, too. I could spend days- and way more money than I should- in there. Always a well kept lot, too. The flowers and landscaping is kept up nicely. read more
