However, my GMC was in need of more repairs. It has almost 100,000 miles on it so it wasn't surprising. So, yes, I had to pay more when I left but my car is running so great now. Not only that, Mark had the mechanic save all the failing/older parts so that I was able to see what was done. I didn't feel as if I was being taken advantage of. I have recommended Brake Zone to a few people already and will be taking my other car in for general maintenance too. My cooling fan cover ended up missing; he replaced a turbo that was already new and gave me a defective one. When I took the truck back because it was having electric issues and problems with the new turbo (all the work was supposed to be covered by the warranty), come to find out he had an apprentice diesel mechanic do the work. Mark told me to get a second opinion, and I did. He also advised he would honor the warranty and have the new mechanic do the work and reimburse me because it was out of their wheelhouse of what they are capable of doing mechanically. So I did, and when I brought the invoice, he refused to honor the warranty. This is one of the most horrible shops, and I would not recommend it to anyone. After almost $10k spent, I took it to another shop, and they fixed all the issues that Brake Zone did not, and the new mechanic did not upsell me on unnecessary work or parts. Very bad EXPERIENCE!!!! I went in for an oil change and was considering purchasing tires. I asked the service associate and was provided a cost estimate for two tires. I informed the associate that I had Ford Pass Rewards that I wanted to use. She looked in the system and told me I had enough rewards to pay for the oil change and the two tired. I was astonished and asked her to check again and she said it was correct after discussing it with a coworker. I agreed to purchase the tires along with the oil change and left my car there. Two hours later I was notified that my car was ready. When I arrived I was told by the associate that she had miscalculated my Ford PassRewards value and that her supervisor would explain. The Supervisor told me that the associate had made a major mistake and that my bill was going to be $789. I told him my decision to purchase the tires was based on the original verbal estimate she had given me. I told him I didn't want the tires at that price. He tried to get me to apply for a credit card to pay for the cost and I declined. I hav the money to pay but didn't want the tires. I said put my old tires on and I would pay for the oil change. Thomas the supervisor said I could not have my old tires back and pressured me to pay for the tires. I refused and told him I wanted my old tires back and would only be paying for the oil change because I had been duped about the value of the Ford Pass Points. After awhile Thomas reluctantly agreed. I got my car back with NO EXPLANATION OR APOLOGY for the situation that the poorly informed associate created. I wasn't satisfied with the lack of clarity and couldn't help wondering if I wasn't the victim of a poorly executed bait and switch scam. I asked for the name of Thomas's supervisor and went to the main office at Kendall Ford to speak with Jorge. Jorge seemed uninterested and distracted. He didn't ask questions or offer explanations. He just wanted me to leave. No help no concern if anything he didn't seem to think there was a problem which likely explains the poor communication and customer service in the Quick Lane he oversees. I asked to speak to the manager and was able to my experience with the Genery Manager Derek. Derek was wonderful. He listened, took notes and was completely flabbergasted that this had happened. He couldn't explain why Alex had provided inaccurate information and that Thomas had denied my request to put my old tires back on the vehicle while pressuring me to pay for the tires. He seemed disappointed that Jorge took no action to resolve an issue under his management. He apologized for what he deemed a complete failure by his subordinates and offered me discounts on future service. I respectfully declined because I really felt that this kind of bait and switch activity might be more prevalent than he was aware of. Derek listened and promised action. Luckily the drain plug was not left loose or cross threaded but still irritating and I will find a new place to spend my money next time for sure.
