The oil change with extras was under 1 hour which I used for shopping and then windshield wipers were an extra 15 min; and yes they got super busy and some people had longer waits. I suggest making your appointment in early am. Per my observation - not enough people in the car shop but every interaction was super professional and pleasant. -2 stars to the management for understaffing the auto care center. read more

Do NOT take your car here. I went on a Sunday to have a flat tire repaired, only because other options were closed. I waited nearly TWO HOURS for them to come back and tell me the tire was not repairable, that I needed a replacement. My car hadn't moved an inch in that time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They said they could order a new tire, I could make an appointment to get it changed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I agreed to do it, came back on Tuesday at 4:00 for said appointment. The tech said it would take about a 1.5 hours. I couldn't see adding on even more wait time, so I took the tire and left (took 1/2 hour total). Called Discount Tire, they said sure, they'd install the tire, bring it in. I did so, was told it would take less than an hour (they would see if I needed a new tire or if they could repair the old, then make the call). I went across the street to relax, was called within 25 minutes, job done! They had to replace the tire, said... No charge! Now, that's service! read more

I had a good experience with getting my tires replaced here, so i figured I'd give the oil change a try. BIG MISTAKE. They had my car for an hour, called me to let me know they couldn't get the filter off. My dad usually does my oil change, so it's not that tight. They claimed to have to have use other measures and it still was too tight. The gave me the keys without verifying the numbers. I took it to my dad, he took the filter off with his own force, no machinery. It wasn't tight. The oil plug was overly tightened and stripped. I have to get a new plug and possibly a pan bc it's so tight, and a mechanic told me this. My dad didn't do that, strip and tighten so tight an impact can't get it off. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I call Walmart Auto Manager, he looks into it. Claims 4 mins was spent on my car, he can tell they only went lefty loosey from a camera.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I don't see how? As they claimed to have used powered tools too, so explain that. Also, if it only took 4 mins then why did I wait an hour? Why not use an extractor? Manager says they only worked on the filter, but the oil plug is stripped, and needs an extractor. It doesn't add up. They aren't taking responsibility either. Don't trust these losers. read more

My husband brought his truck in for a simple oil change. Three hours later...he's still sitting around waiting. So...there were only two cars ahead of him, which makes the wait seem awfully long unless there's only one person working. (Not sure what the deal is there.) An oil change and battery replacement took less than 2 hours turnaround on a weekday. Pricing is competitive without the need to remember dated coupons or promotional codes. The bonus was a $0.00 labor charge to change the battery. With some newer model vehicles, access can be a challenge for less savvy DIYers, even with the help of online instructional videos (insert rant with working on Year/Make/Model). Don't bother going to the Santee, California Auto Service. I was told they would can my oil. Came home with just barely over half full. Asked if they check whisper fluid. Oh yes we check all Fluids. Came home completely empty. Asked them to check my tires since my sensor was saying low pressure. only live a couple of blocks away. Came home parked for the evening and woke. Asked them to change my filters but didn't bother getting my clothes dirty to check because chances are they didn't change those as well. I'll be talking to the manager tomorrow and copying this to corporate but I doubt nobody does their job there as well. read more

My boy Scotts 1-1/2 hours service ran 3 hours, so that sucked, the nice young lady at the cashier may need so more training as she appeared to be struggling at the start and then when I returned, that or the system sucks, took 10 minutes + to just check out. Went to Walmart Auto Care in Santee. First they wouldn't change the battery on my Range Rover Evoque because "they didn't carry that type of battery." When I pulled up a screen shot of the battery I had found on their website, it then became they couldn't change it because "the strut bar over the battery is a liability." I suggest you take your business elsewhere, can't trust mechanics who can't take off a few screws without calling it a "liability." read more

I was about to sell my car and wanted to do one last oil change, this was my closest location* I called a day before to ask if they had the filter for my specific year and model of car. Man on the phone said "Sure we do!" Even when I asked again. I could tell he did not actually look it up, but I trusted him. Waited about 15 minutes before someone could check my car in. The gal then says "we don't have the filter for this year car" Arg!! She blamed it on the new employee. I then had to then drive to an auto shop, buy a filter and then bring it back. They were visibly busy with tons of cars so it didn't matter when I picked up my car. Was probably 10AM and she said it would be ready probably 2 or 2:30. I told her I would be back around that time anyway. They called me at 12 (not the time she said) but I said okay and that I would be by later to pick it up. Finally was able to pay and get my keys back and I found the Walmart employee parked my car in the handicap parking space!!!!!! I do NOT have a handicap sign and there was NO reason for him to park my car there as that side of the auto area has TONS of parking! I was so upset, I still am! Of course some a-hole left a nasty note on my car (as I would have also) They are lucky I did not get a ticket... Do NOT recommend this place. I came here a few days ago and the service writer told me that it would take too long to wait without an appointment. She set up an appointment for me and when I showed up, she said they were low on technicians and that it would take a while. The appointment was at noon and I didn't get my car until 2:30pm. Had I known that an appointment would potentially be this long, I would have gone somewhere else or just dropped off my tire with a different vehicle. At least they still dumped my used oil for me. The tech that changed my tire worked pretty slow, maybe due to age. I believe that she did everything she was supposed to do to include using the torque wrench at the end. The cashier seemed a little frazzled when trying to handle the payment at the end. I don't think it was worth the cost for the wait. I didn't even bother asking for a discount because I was ready to go. If your time is valuable, then don't come here. read more

I went for an oil change on Febuary 28, a week later the engine made weird sounds o checked the oil level and there was no oil. I took it back to them and they admitted that they Installed the wrong filter and assured me that they were going to repair it. Normally I don't write reviews, especially negative ones. Everything I saw online said "first come first serve" "no appointment needed." Normally I change my own oil but I figured I'd give it a try. Arrived 20min after they opened, 2 cars inside the garage already. Sat there waiting for 5min then the service tech came up and asked "what do you want?" Told him I'm looking for an oil change, he then told me "well it's going to be a couple hours, you can't just show up and expect us to take you right away." On our Service Order we arrived at 11:16am and our van was completed at 12:01pm. We sat in a VERY uncomfortable waiting room until my wife went to the counter to check on our LACK of service. At 1:55 on the receipt a rather harried young lady got around to taking a modest amount of money for what should have been a fairly complete service! Since I'm a pilot the first thing I noticed was the lack of called for window washing, that I had skipped since I used surface streets to get there. Took my car for an oil change. Took almost 20 minutes to get any of the five men standing around inside to even come take my keys. Gave me a timeframe of 2 hours. Four hours later I finally called to check the status. Wouldn't you know; they were just finishing up. Refused to do a battery check (car is less than a year old I wasn't concerned) due to it being "unsafe". What does that mean? The car is not even a year old. It has less than 4K miles on it (thanks pandemic) and under the hood is pristine. I am fairly certain "unsafe" is code for "I don't want to do my job". It's a total shame. Called in advance for a 3 yr battery replacement, women checked plenty of inventory. I bring my car in 20 min later I receive a call all they have is the one year battery. Well after wasting my morning I agreed to go with the one year battery. It's a shame, I would've paid for the battery in advance. I guess there inventory is wrong in the computer. Our battery was needing urgent replacement, and I know less than zero about cars. I relied on Walmart to replace the battery ASAP. After calling around I was sent to this Walmart. It was the best way to ensure I had a car for the day (or at least be able to pick my kid up from school). I called ahead of time and was told they would be able to take care of the battery with perhaps a 2-3 hour wait. When I arrived at 8:30am - with my 2yo in tow - I walked around the whole place for a while until I found someone to help me, this person told me he wasn't taking any more cars. I said that I didn't even know if my car would turn back on for me to go home, and that I had called ahead of time and that was the only reason I came all this way. The worker begrudgingly agreed to change my battery, but told me I'd have to wait all day. I just had to pick up my kid from school, he said "well hopefully it will be done by then." I waited for a couple of hours, then decided to just buy the battery and rely on good ol' YouTube to help me install it - I couldn't see myself waiting the approximated 5+hrs with my 2yo. I went back and asked another worker to let me see if I could turn the car on - then cancel my order. This man - ADRIAN - says "oh, I can change your battery in 10min." Whaaaaat!!! He dances his way to my car and in less than 15min I drive home with a new battery. If you go here, make sure Adrian is working - I'm not even sure he exists, or maybe he was our angel for the day, but I appreciated the miracle. Thank you so much Adrian!!!!! read more

Hi Yelp people. My husband took the car to Walmart to get an oil change. He dropped the car off at 11am and it Finished at almost 2pm. You know must be good because there was lots of cars today. He was very happy with the oil change and the car doesn't make that weird sound anymore thanks to him getting an oil change. I purchased my tires online from their website , they have a bigger selection and the ones I wanted had to be shipped , with Walmart everything is Transparent you dont keep negotiating and going back and forth , they dont force you to buy the complete installation package with road hazard and every other option to get the buy 2 get 2 free like competitors , basic tire installation is $12/ tire which Includes [[ tire mounting, valve stems, lifetime balance and rotation every 7,500 miles and 50-mile lug re-torque ]] you can add $10/tire for road hazard , I called Evans tire , discount tire and its frustrating , they dont give you the best price unless you find it cheaper and tell them , with the promotion you are forced to buy almost $150 installation package sometimes more , I did my research and good quotes , Walmart saved me $100 on my purchase which was $260 with 4 hankook tires for my Prius and thats great deal , I watched them working on my car , they took their time to make sure balance was excellent , If you are reading this comment then on next tire purchase visit Walmart , its the best , dont waste time getting those false buy 2 get 2 free promotions ! its all fake , YES FAKE ! read more

Thank you Sarah,Julian & John for great service today. They are an asset to the company. We appreciated the integrity of not changing an air filter when not needed. The oil change & battery terminal corrosion repair along with all other check ups were done as well. Also John the technician went above and beyond & vacuumed out the tree debris from under the hood. Sarah is the perfect "Walmart greeter" of the auto center! Very knowlegable as well. Julian at the desk kept us informed of van progress. The only thing negative was it took longer than quoted.
