Yei to all auto care center personnel who took care of me today: Michael, Karl, Adriana, John, the gentleman who changed windshield wipers and an extra shout out to Dawn who has been there a while. You all made my day! The oil change with extras was under 1 hour which I used for shopping and then windshield wipers were an extra 15 min; and yes they got super busy and some people had longer waits. I suggest making your appointment in early am. Per my observation - not enough people in the car shop but every interaction was super professional and pleasant. -2 stars to the management for understaffing the auto care center. read more

Do NOT take your car here. I went on a Sunday to have a flat tire repaired, only because other options were closed. I waited nearly TWO HOURS for them to come back and tell me the tire was not repairable, that I needed a replacement. My car hadn't moved an inch in that time. They said they could order a new tire, I could make an appointment to get it changed. I agreed to do it, came back on Tuesday at 4:00 for said appointment. The tech said it would take about a 1.5 hours. I couldn't see adding on even more wait time, so I took the tire and left (took 1/2 hour total). Called Discount Tire, they said sure, they'd install the tire, bring it in. I did so, was told it would take less than an hour (they would see if I needed a new tire or if they could repair the old, then make the call). I went across the street to relax, was called within 25 minutes, job done! They had to replace the tire, said... No charge! Now, that's service! read more

I had a good experience with getting my tires replaced here, so i figured I'd give the oil change a try. BIG MISTAKE. They had my car for an hour, called me to let me know they couldn't get the filter off. My dad usually does my oil change, so it's not that tight. They claimed to have to have use other measures and it still was too tight. The gave me the keys without verifying the numbers. I took it to my dad, he took the filter off with his own force, no machinery. It wasn't tight. The oil plug was overly tightened and stripped. I have to get a new plug and possibly a pan bc it's so tight, and a mechanic told me this. My dad didn't do that, strip and tighten so tight an impact can't get it off. I call Walmart Auto Manager, he looks into it. Claims 4 mins was spent on my car, he can tell they only went lefty loosey from a camera. I don't see how? As they claimed to have used powered tools too, so explain that. Also, if it only took 4 mins then why did I wait an hour? Why not use an extractor? Manager says they only worked on the filter, but the oil plug is stripped, and needs an extractor. It doesn't add up. They aren't taking responsibility either. Don't trust these losers. read more

Went in for an oil change and now my car smells like burnt rubber and is leaking... no appointments so I hope they can still take me to fix their mistake. read more

I highly recognize Ramon for his honest and hardworking service. I come to this location because I really like Ramon's work. One time I came at 7 PM and he immediately helped me and changed my oil. Today I had a flat tire, and Ramon fixed it himself quickly and with care. Also, Fred at the front who took my car information was very polite and helpful -- great customer service from the start. They are both great guys -- please take good care of them, encourage them, and give them the reward they deserve. read more

Lazy workers, doesn't want to do oil changes even though it is their job. Complains that it might take a few hours to complete when there's no cars in the bay or waiting in queue. SMH. If they are lazy to help there will be something that they won't end up doing correctly! Be weary read more

My husband brought his truck in for a simple oil change. Three hours later...he's still sitting around waiting. So...there were only two cars ahead of him, which makes the wait seem awfully long unless there's only one person working. (Not sure what the deal is there.) He then watched as the guy who was working on his car stopped and talked to another employee for about 30 minutes. 5 minutes after he checked in, another customer also checked in. That person's car still isn't in a bay...we're now beginning the fourth hour of waiting... read more

Had an appointment today at 9:30 am, was told max, wait time would be 1 hour and 30 mins. It's now been 2 hours w no update. My last visits here have not been pleasant. Last I came I was rudely asked "if I had an appointment" when I wasn't aware that this system was put in place. No winning, damned if you do damned if you don't. Anyone have any recommendations other than this place for an oil change service? read more

Absolutely the worst customer service in the entire world. The guy working the front to check people in on 7/31/25 at 8am at this auto shop is insanely rude and was mistreating everyone who came in this morning. We all have rough days but there's no room for someone to be so blatantly disrespectful when just asking for help. read more

I recently discovered auto service options at Wally World. They're NOT at every store location, but there should be a location relatively close enough to help your routine maintenance budget. ++ Friendly counter & check-in service. Clearly posted menu prices. No additional labor charge with new battery purchases ++ + Open layout and service bay visibility. They can even do a light vacuum of the inside front carpeting if the floor area isn't cluttered and you're not hoarding garbage. Work completed within time quoted. Available shopping and nearby food options within walking distance to pass the time + - No appointments available - First come, first served basis - Just drive up by the garage past the garden center entrance. There's usually a greeter there to check your vehicle in. Afterwards, they'll give you a ticket that you bring inside for the cashier to confirm the work order. They'll call your name before calling your phone when it's ready. Settle the tab and bring your invoice back outside to get the your key. Easy peasy. An oil change and battery replacement took less than 2 hours turnaround on a weekday. Pricing is competitive without the need to remember dated coupons or promotional codes. The bonus was a $0.00 labor charge to change the battery. With some newer model vehicles, access can be a challenge for less savvy DIYers, even with the help of online instructional videos (insert rant with working on Year/Make/Model). Keep the shiny side up, and don't overpay for automotive maintenance work. Knowing is half the battle. read more

Don't bother going to the Santee, California Auto Service. I was told they would can my oil. Came home with just barely over half full. Asked if they check whisper fluid. Oh yes we check all Fluids. Came home completely empty. Asked them to check my tires since my sensor was saying low pressure. only live a couple of blocks away. Came home parked for the evening and woke. Asked them to change my filters but didn't bother getting my clothes dirty to check because chances are they didn't change those as well. I'll be talking to the manager tomorrow and copying this to corporate but I doubt nobody does their job there as well. read more

Mark was on spot but today with service, very polite and cheerful. My boy Scotts 1-1/2 hours service ran 3 hours, so that sucked, the nice young lady at the cashier may need so more training as she appeared to be struggling at the start and then when I returned, that or the system sucks, took 10 minutes + to just check out. Everyone was super polite but unfortunately I felt like crap and didn't feel like wasting any additional time in the store than needed today since I wasn't planning on spending 200$ on last minute repairs. read more

Adriana was very helpful and gave me updates on the progress along the way. She was very knowledgeable and organized.

Ordered tires on the 9th of October. Received confirmation appointment for installation for 7am on Oct 14th, that fit my schedule on the calendar. The whole week my tires were in stock. Then this morning at 5am I get an email that my order was cancelled. What the hell Walmart! I basically flew in a day early from my vacation to take care of this before Monday before work! Could you have at least gave me a better heads up than an email 2 hours before my appointment. " SORRY A REFUND WILL BE PROCESSED". YOU DIDNT VALUE MY TIME! I WILL WRITE CORPORATE AS WELL FOR YOUR LACK OF CONSIDERATION! SO MUCH FOR ALOHA ! read more

Went to Walmart Auto Care in Santee. First they wouldn't change the battery on my Range Rover Evoque because "they didn't carry that type of battery." When I pulled up a screen shot of the battery I had found on their website, it then became they couldn't change it because "the strut bar over the battery is a liability." I suggest you take your business elsewhere, can't trust mechanics who can't take off a few screws without calling it a "liability." read more

Amazing service ! Everything was organized and went smoothly.... staff was helpful and they tell u everything u need to know

I was about to sell my car and wanted to do one last oil change, this was my closest location* I called a day before to ask if they had the filter for my specific year and model of car. Man on the phone said "Sure we do!" Even when I asked again. I could tell he did not actually look it up, but I trusted him. Waited about 15 minutes before someone could check my car in. The gal then says "we don't have the filter for this year car" Arg!! She blamed it on the new employee. I then had to then drive to an auto shop, buy a filter and then bring it back. They were visibly busy with tons of cars so it didn't matter when I picked up my car. Was probably 10AM and she said it would be ready probably 2 or 2:30. I told her I would be back around that time anyway. They called me at 12 (not the time she said) but I said okay and that I would be by later to pick it up. Finally was able to pay and get my keys back and I found the Walmart employee parked my car in the handicap parking space!!!!!! I do NOT have a handicap sign and there was NO reason for him to park my car there as that side of the auto area has TONS of parking! I was so upset, I still am! Of course some a-hole left a nasty note on my car (as I would have also) They are lucky I did not get a ticket... Do NOT recommend this place. Employees are not very competent but I guess that's what you get when you work at Walmart.... read more

I came here a few days ago and the service writer told me that it would take too long to wait without an appointment. She set up an appointment for me and when I showed up, she said they were low on technicians and that it would take a while. The appointment was at noon and I didn't get my car until 2:30pm. Had I known that an appointment would potentially be this long, I would have gone somewhere else or just dropped off my tire with a different vehicle. At least they still dumped my used oil for me. The tech that changed my tire worked pretty slow, maybe due to age. I believe that she did everything she was supposed to do to include using the torque wrench at the end. The cashier seemed a little frazzled when trying to handle the payment at the end. I don't think it was worth the cost for the wait. I didn't even bother asking for a discount because I was ready to go. If your time is valuable, then don't come here. read more

I went for an oil change on Febuary 28, a week later the engine made weird sounds o checked the oil level and there was no oil. I took it back to them and they admitted that they Installed the wrong filter and assured me that they were going to repair it. The next they changed their story and said there was a hole in the housing and they weren't responsible. Don't trust these people! I had to add 1 star to post this. read more

Told me they close at 7, I'm literally here at 6:00pm an hr before! And they couldn't do an oil change, they have a whole hr to take me for me to wait, horrible service! Anyone reading this... do not come here for an any auto services. read more

Normally I don't write reviews, especially negative ones. Everything I saw online said "first come first serve" "no appointment needed." Normally I change my own oil but I figured I'd give it a try. Arrived 20min after they opened, 2 cars inside the garage already. Sat there waiting for 5min then the service tech came up and asked "what do you want?" Told him I'm looking for an oil change, he then told me "well it's going to be a couple hours, you can't just show up and expect us to take you right away." Which again, I wasn't expecting anything other than waiting which I had no issue doing. But after that 1min interaction I went inside, bought oil and left. Terrible attitude from that guy. read more

On our Service Order we arrived at 11:16am and our van was completed at 12:01pm. We sat in a VERY uncomfortable waiting room until my wife went to the counter to check on our LACK of service. At 1:55 on the receipt a rather harried young lady got around to taking a modest amount of money for what should have been a fairly complete service! Since I'm a pilot the first thing I noticed was the lack of called for window washing, that I had skipped since I used surface streets to get there. My big mistake was that after three hours of waiting on a steel bench and hearing an unrestrained metal door pounding after every entry and exit, I wanted to get home and some sort of normality! read more

I was amazed with how considerate and quick the team is here at Walmart auto center in Santee. I had a flat and needed a new tire urgently at 5pm on a Friday. Everywhere I called wanted to charge me over 150 and didn't want to squeeze me in. Adrian promised me i'd get seen and sure enough, by 7 I had a whole new set of tires for a fraction of what I would've paid. I am so very impressed and grateful for the attention. Thank you all! read more

Slowest service ever. Walmart needs to hire more people to work in their auto department this poor woman is the only person working on 12 cars. I had to wait 40 minutes in my car just to get seen and then was told to go inside to sign the papers and no one was at the counter for another 15 minutes. What a waste of time. After waiting 2 hours for an oil change and a tire rotation I'm told that I need new tires even though I bought my vehicle from a dealer a year ago. This crap happens every time I go to Wal-Mart with tire issues. I'm not and will never buy tires from Wal-Mart ever again. I don't handle BS well at all. Discount Tire I'm coming your way in two years or so when this vehicle needs new tires. So, tomorrow I will have to rotate the tires myself. read more

Took my car for an oil change. Took almost 20 minutes to get any of the five men standing around inside to even come take my keys. Gave me a timeframe of 2 hours. Four hours later I finally called to check the status. Wouldn't you know; they were just finishing up. Refused to do a battery check (car is less than a year old I wasn't concerned) due to it being "unsafe". What does that mean? The car is not even a year old. It has less than 4K miles on it (thanks pandemic) and under the hood is pristine. I am fairly certain "unsafe" is code for "I don't want to do my job". I usually take my cars to my dealership and now I remember why. read more

It's a total shame. Called in advance for a 3 yr battery replacement, women checked plenty of inventory. I bring my car in 20 min later I receive a call all they have is the one year battery. Well after wasting my morning I agreed to go with the one year battery. It's a shame, I would've paid for the battery in advance. I guess there inventory is wrong in the computer. Next time I call I will have someone check the shelves, lesson learned don't trust computer. read more

If your time is money don't take your car for tires installation here. It will take 3 hours at least to get it done. I was the second car if the morning. Super slow motion movements. Hi Yelp people. My husband took the car to Walmart to get an oil change. He dropped the car off at 11am and it Finished at almost 2pm. You know must be good because there was lots of cars today. Our battery was needing urgent replacement, and I know less than zero about cars. I relied on Walmart to replace the battery ASAP. After calling around I was sent to this Walmart. It was the best way to ensure I had a car for the day (or at least be able to pick my kid up from school). I called ahead of time and was told they would be able to take care of the battery with perhaps a 2-3 hour wait. When I arrived at 8:30am - with my 2yo in tow - I walked around the whole place for a while until I found someone to help me, this person told me he wasn't taking any more cars. I said that I didn't even know if my car would turn back on for me to go home, and that I had called ahead of time and that was the only reason I came all this way. The worker begrudgingly agreed to change my battery, but told me I'd have to wait all day. I just had to pick up my kid from school, he said "well hopefully it will be done by then." I waited for a couple of hours, then decided to just buy the battery and rely on good ol' YouTube to help me install it - I couldn't see myself waiting the approximated 5+hrs with my 2yo. I went back and asked another worker to let me see if I could turn the car on - then cancel my order. This man - ADRIAN - says "oh, I can change your battery in 10min." Whaaaaat!!! He dances his way to my car and in less than 15min I drive home with a new battery. If you go here, make sure Adrian is working - I'm not even sure he exists, or maybe he was our angel for the day, but I appreciated the miracle. Thank you so much Adrian!!!!! read more

I purchased my tires online from their website , they have a bigger selection and the ones I wanted had to be shipped , with Walmart everything is Transparent you dont keep negotiating and going back and forth , they dont force you to buy the complete installation package with road hazard and every other option to get the buy 2 get 2 free like competitors , basic tire installation is $12/ tire which Includes [[ tire mounting, valve stems, lifetime balance and rotation every 7,500 miles and 50-mile lug re-torque ]] you can add $10/tire for road hazard , I called Evans tire , discount tire and its frustrating , they dont give you the best price unless you find it cheaper and tell them , with the promotion you are forced to buy almost $150 installation package sometimes more , I did my research and good quotes , Walmart saved me $100 on my purchase which was $260 with 4 hankook tires for my Prius and thats great deal , I watched them working on my car , they took their time to make sure balance was excellent , If you are reading this comment then on next tire purchase visit Walmart , its the best , dont waste time getting those false buy 2 get 2 free promotions ! its all fake , YES FAKE ! read more
