I walked in here and was immediately greeted by Alfred, his badge listed him as a commercial driver, but I told him what I was looking for, he asked all the same question I was asked at woodside only more politely, and when the question came up about when my truck was manufactured and I told him I wasn't sure he helped me figure it out! Alfred was super polite and helpful and I'm glad I walked in here today. Side note, as he was helping me he still took the time to greet others walking in and letting ppl know he'd be right there to assist shortly. Went for a new battery. arrived before 4 pm. They said they needed an hour to charge the old battery to test it. By now it was 430 they said come back in an hour walked around for an hour came back had to get a new battery but because now it is after 5 pm they would not install it and made me do it in the parking lit in the dark!!!! A stripped lug nut on Becky's Mustang needed to be replaced. I jumped onto the Santee AutoZone website and easily found what I was looking for. I took a screenshot and headed to the store. The website does not specify an aisle or bin location (as the Home Depot site does). Upon arrival I walked in and showed the screenshot to the young man behind the counter. He took me right to the location and handed my item to me. We returned to the register, I paid and was on my way. Back at home I replaced the compromised lug nut. The fitment was perfect. Lost me as a customer for good. Came by to get my battery tested and the employees seemed reluctant to help with the free battery test (as if I was a nuisance to them). Turns out the battery was bad and they referred me to Oreillys because the battery seemed too hard to switch out for them. When I tried to leave my battery was now completely dead....I asked if they could help with a jump and I got zero help. One employee said they didn't have a jump start and another said they couldn't help me for liability issues. Both BS. You guys suck. read more

Came here yesterday to get windshield wipers for my car. I had called in prior to give my car information to see if they had the correct wipers for my car as I had previously ordered off Amazon and the wrong wipers for the model of my car was delivered. When I entered the store the gentlemen at the counter provided me the wiper however I asked him to verify if these were the correct wiper for my car so I instead provided my VIN. I've really had good help over the past few years at this autozone and today I needed my battery checked and the gentleman that helped me was great however they were not able to help me change my battery as they were short handed. The other guy said since it was a replacement they don't change them for the customer, I was willing to pay to have it changed because they are so much faster but I ended up doing it myself. The gentleman that helped me was willing but was told that I would have to wait at least 45 minutes so again I just did it myself. I've always been providing with great customer service but after today's experience I will take my business elsewhere. Called the Santee store after Roadside assistance had to jump start my car because my battery was dying and asked if they had a battery in stock for my car and could they help me put it in when I got there. They said "absolutely". When I got there, it was a very different story! I told them that I had called ahead to make sure they had the battery and the guy behind the counter went to get it. He returned with no battery and said, "Well, we have a battery for you, but it's still on the pallet, so it won't be available until tomorrow. I can see if we have any other batteries that might work." He then proceeded to try and UPSELL me on a battery that was $130 MORE than the one he quoted me at $244. Then he went and got the original battery and placed it on the counter. Before paying, I wanted to confirm that someone could help me install it and he just plainly said, "NOPE! Not today! We don't do that." I responded that I had asked that question when I called on the phone, so is there ANYONE that could help me? He responded again. "NOPE" I walked out! HORRIBLE Customer Service. The check engine light came on today and I panicked! So I went right over to AutoZone here in Santee and the very nice young gentleman behind the counter said, "no problem, I'll check the light for you". He came out, hooked up a sensor, brought it into the store gave me a print out of what was wrong (which thank God is not critical!) and told me to take it to my mechanic, so that they would know what needed to be replaced. Then he asked me who my mechanic was. I told them deep's garage. He said he knew them well, they are a customer and highly recommended them. And then I asked to speak to the Manager because the associate was so nice and polite and really gave good customer service and we talked for about 5 minutes about how they just wanna help the customer. I highly, HIGHLY recommend autozone here in Santee. They're out to help the customer, not Necessarily charge the customer or upsell. I will be a frequent customer here from now on!!!!! read more

She was happy to take a look at our battery and after realizing we had a leak or spill (I honestly don't know what its called when the juice started spilling out), she explained why she couldn't check it and gave us items to look into getting to fix the problem. Went in to get my key fob battery replaced just to have the gentleman tell me they don't touch them anymore due to them breaking a few and being held accountable of doing to. That I understand but He couldn't even try looking up the type of battery used on the computer to help assist me so I could make a purchase. I have never had issues going in for them to replace my key fob, my wipers, or battery. So if they are going to be implementing said rules maybe have signage's stating that they are no longer assisting costumers. read more

My car battery needed to be replaced. I happened to be in the home depot parking lot when it died. I got a jump so I went over to the AutoZone in same parking lot. I am a 68 year old widow trying to take care of my car that my husband always had. The lady behind the counter toke a look at my battery and refused to help me because the battery 6 years ago was from Riley's auto store. I asked her to please give me the battery and she said if I bought it there was no one to put the battery in my car. There were 3 employees there I said. She then tells me that they were all going home at that time. I had never seen such a cold person. I shopped a lot from AutoZones but I will no longer be a customer of theirs. I don't like people bullsh!tting me. I bought something with a debit card but needed to return it. The clerk refused to give me cash as a refund, even though it was done as a debit transaction. Every other store, including other Autozone does this, but this kid couldn't wrap his brain around the difference between debit and credit transactions, do now, need to go to the bank. He said it must be refunded to the card. That is the bullsh!tting, cuz it isn't true. He doesn't know how. So irritating to be told something isn't possible, when in reality it's just something they don't WANT to do. read more

It is a rare treat for a store to display such excellent customer service and far surpassing expectations of care. For whatever reason my little yellow Honda Fit finds great joy in not giving any warning that my battery is low so for the second time in 3 years I've found myself with a dead battery and at my local Autozone desperate for help. Since I lack any skill in automobile care I have to rely completely on your staff to assist me. David J. was quick to greet me as I walked in and started getting right to work helping me get the right battery. David was quick, valuing my time and had a great attitude, it was obvious that he was passionate about the job. He exceeded my expectations removing and installing my battery all while providing knowledge on what he was doing when I asked questions. At one point a homeless man was near us aggressively yelling at no one and wielding a large stick. While I'm sure he was harmless it was concerning nonetheless and David told me if the man came over to us for me to walk into the store. His concern for my safety was just another layer of the 5 star customer service. His outstanding customer service was truly appreciated and while I don't need any car parts on a regular basis I will be back for a new battery when it's needed. read more

I am doubling my original review of 1 star because i got proper customer service from this store recently. bought ac compressor here that i installed on my van a few years ago. the clutch went out and luckily i still had the original box because i lost the receipt. the parts service person looked up my history and ordered the compressor. i did have to purchase the compressor to get it ordered and return my old compressor to make it all work which was a bit of an unnecessary pain. but all worked out in the end. keep up the good work and you'll be able to earn favorable reviews. unfortunately once trust is broken it is much harder to re-earn that trust. read more

This is a pretty good Autozone and larger than some of the others I've been to. I came in looking for an air filter my car. My car is fairly new, so I was not surprise that it was not on the shelf. I went to the counter inquire and the attendant looked it up, I learned that it need to be special ordered for a fairly high price, higher than I seen it on line, I decided to go that route instead. Given I was there, I picked up some window cleaner and micro fiber towels. The window cleaner came to around $3 and the towels around $4. The cashier attendant was friendly enough and efficient.
