Itemize invoice page 1 (ultimately decline additional "recommended repairs"
    Bethany H.

My family has always chosen Ford and trusted the dealerships as my family has worked at their headquarters as engineers, however I was not impressed when I went in for my oil change this time. I went in for a The Works Oil Change which includes tire rotation and inspection. The initial interaction was fine, I had prepped the car by clearing out the trunk, pulling out the wheel lock, and bringing in the keys. After checking in as a walk-in, I requested as an addition to the works oil change for them to check all the tires and inflate the spare tire as well, and at the end if they could run it through the car wash. After waiting for a bit (no worries, I arrived during their lunch break and I brought work to do and they have wifi) they informed me there was an additional $8 charge for drain plug as it was torn and would leak oil. Fair assessment, no problem. After a few more minutes, when I am 2 minutes from hopping on a work call (headset on and logged on to the computer and wifi), I am handed an itemized invoice totaling about $1000. The "concerns" included replacing the air filter, both rear rotors and brake pads, and the front engine mount. After a phone call with the engineer in my family, I had to request the Vehicle Inspection Report where everything is ranked with a green, yellow, or red check based on if attention is required (see attached photo). All of the items had green check marks except for the air filter and cabin filter (only one of which was on the itemized invoice and I can easily replace at home). The brake pads that needed to be replaced were even green and measured well above the 6 mm for a good brake pad (as advertised in their waiting room - see attached photo). Ultimately, I accepted the drain plug replacement and the works oil change I initially came in for and declined all additional services. I then signed off that I had "declined the additional recommendations for my car". I cannot say I plan to go back to this Quick Lane Tire and Auto Center.

Carlos was friendly. Waiting room was clean and AC was super cold. Coffee was great. Wifi was not too bad. Oil change service was quick just like the name, QuickLane. I'm a repeat customer and I'll keep coming back if they continue this easy experience. Thanks!

My Tesla Model 3 20" wheel had a slow leak after traveling down here on a road trip. Took it to a…read moretire shop for a patch and they found out there was a small crack on the inside rim instead. They quoted me $350 to send the wheel for a weld/repair or $950 for a refurb oem. After reaching out to several shops a few of them who couldn't do the repair recommended American Factory Wheel. I gave them a call to see if I could do same day even though it was afternoon already. The person who picked up the phone was very nice and told me the soonest would be the next day morning and I could book through their website. As soon as I hung up I immediately received a text with a quote and link. Booking through their website was fast and easy. Came in today for my 9:30am appointment and Darren helped check me in, drove it into the shop and within a few minutes confirmed the crack is repairable with a cash/card quote and about 2 hour turnaround. They finished at 11:20 just under 2 hours. Cost was $242 OTD with card. Easy, fast, great service, good price

These guys are honest and reputable, and I'd recommend them time and time again! I've recommended them to many of my friends and neighbors. If our garage could trust this company with repairs on wheels off of very rare [irreplaceable] exotic car wheels, you can rest assured that you can trust them, as well!

The Good: Points for being fast. I replaced four tires and got wheel alignment for a little over…read moretwo hours. Some understanding during our communication when I pointed out a price discrepancy. The Bad: Nickel and diming. I've been going to Firestones since 1999 and every location I've gone to just applies all the active, applicable coupons. No games. It's why I've kept coming back even though the prices have steadily gone up (it's gone up to $270!). This location did not do that. I bought 4 destination tires, which has a coupon for a $70 discount. Because I spent over $600, another $100 was deducted. Because I bought the wheel alignment, there was a coupon for a $40 discount. Total discount: $210. Josh initially applied only a $40 discount to the tires. When I showed him the $70 coupon, he was about to say something but ended up just applying the the $70 coupon. He then indicated that he applied the extra $30 off. When I picked up the car, I was told I would get an email with the invoice and Josh indicated again that the extra $30 was applied. The following day I called for the invoice and saw the invoice only reflected $180 off. I called Firestone and spoke to someone who put me on hold for about 10 minutes then transferred me to Josh. When I pointed out the discrepancy, he stated that he applied the extra $30 discount by removing a TPMS Valve Kit charge, which was $30. There was no reference to this TPMS Valve Kit Charge on the invoice. I told him that this was not reflected anywhere on the invoice and asked how a customer would know that there was an accurate deduction when there was no reference to this charge that was removed and instead said a $180 discount was applied. When I asked why he applied the $40 coupon instead of the accurate $70 coupon, he did not have an answer and just said he would send a different invoice to show what he did. Josh then emailed a separate invoice that looked like it was made on the spot that applied two "PRT-DISC Customer Expectation Discount (Promise not met)" discounts totaling $140 and the TPMS Valve Kit Charge for $28 ($7 for each tire), which was not discounted and therefore made the invoice $30 higher. I thanked him for the explanation but noted it caused me to waste my time because he never explained what he was doing in the shop or on an invoice and I, instead, had to call because it looked like I had been cheated $30. He replied that he hoped he would get the benefit of the doubt that he was being honest and I responded that this isn't a reflection of my thoughts on his character but no one gets the benefit of the doubt. We're strangers making a transaction, this is why invoices exist. He then said he had to do it this way because could not apply the correct $70 coupon because he had already entered the $40 coupon in the system and that he went above and beyond for me. I explained he didn't do anything more than he was supposed to do: apply the applicable discounts and accurately process the transaction. If we're being 100% accurate, he didn't do these things or even explain what happened until I called, which is why I wasn't happy with the experience.
