First of all, I wanted to thank Brian and Matt for an awesome job on my bend rim. I was looking for a place to repair my bend rim, which there are many in my area. But charge too much just to fix one of my rim. So I saw this place on yelp and decided to check them out. I worked with Brian on getting my wheels back to its original condition. I wasn't in a hurry and I told him to make sure it's done properly rather than cutting corners going with the cheaper route. But instead, it was worth the wait while still managing to not break the bank too much! I brought my own set of tires and he was nice enough to transfer over the tpms sensors off my old set, install the tires, balance, and mount on my vehicle. This time I brought my set M Series wheels. They fixed the scratches (it had a LOT), bends, and one that had a crack. Let me start off by saying wow! Amazing customer service and quality work Brian greeted me as soon as I pulled up and almost felt like I've known him forever. Brian was very knowledgeable and knew exactly what he needed to do. I Had a small crack on a 19x8.5in wheel I showed Brian the crack that I found, he saw it and right away told me don't worry we'll get it fixed, that was a relief to hear. he priced me at $100 that's including dismounting of tire fixing the crack and remounting and balancing. I needed to repair cracks in my wheel to stop air leaking so i could sell my car, I almost ended up buying a brand new set of wheels which would cost me $500 per wheel since i have low profile tires 19'' . There is an assumption that if you own an expensive exotic car that you will think nothing of paying unlimited amounts of money for service. That is so wrong. People that are intelligent will always shop around for better prices. The car company that will remain nameless was going to charge me $9000 for 4 new wheels and tires, maintaining that the aftermarket wheels were unsafe for the car. We did some digging and found out that there was nothing wrong with any of the wheels. A tire had blown and there was a crack in one of the wheels. OVER PRICED - I was searching for a wheel shop to start a relationship with because I often need wheel repairs, modifications, and powder coating for cars that I build. When I saw all the good reviews, I instantly contacted them for quote. Which is where I decided I won't be using them for any of my projects. The average cost to repair a bent wheel is between $50-100 - US Wheel Repair quoted me $150 per wheel. Which is more than the cost of the wheels. I got the wheels for $27 each at the junk yard. it's not like they were bent super bad I just wanted them to be perfect before I paint them. I also had them quote me for powder coating a set of 20 inch wheels. (I just had them powder coated for $500 but wanted to see what their prices were) The average cost to sand blast and powder coat a set of 20" wheels is $400-700 on the high end. US wheel repair quoted me $900. The average person probably doesn't know any better but after dealing with wheel shops for many years all over California, I know that this place is over priced. The only logical explanation for charging that much more (+$400) for powder coating is that they don't do them in house so they are up charging. ‍ read more

So I bought some new rims on OfferUp and took them to Brian to fix the curb rash only to find out that all 4 wheels were either bent or had the starting of cracks. Instead of taking my money he told me to not waste any more money on these and take my loss. Super cool dude and very honest. He did have another set of wheels same brand that he had and would sell them to me but told me I should stay with the stock wheels because they're made for the car. It's very far and few where you can find a honest person who will steer you in the right direction and not steal your money! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH US WHEEL.... TRUST ME! Save your precious time, money and travel to another wheel repair shop that delivers. Why? I've had work done two times with US Wheel around 2008-2009. Back then, I was working with the Paul. He's the father of the son who's running the business now. Paul is the owner of the business. When I was working with Paul then, I had no problems. I received my wheels in time as promised, the price was fair, and customer service was great. I was a happy customer then. However, the tables have turned now that Brian (the owner's son) runs the business. I dropped off some wheels with Brian about 6 months ago. The work to be done was to refinish my wheels and paint the centers. Brian brought to my attention that due to his current workload, he wouldn't be able to finish my wheels in 2 weeks, maybe 3 weeks tops. I told him that would be fine and was okay with that. After 2 weeks, my wheels were not even touched. I visited the 3rd week and same situation. I then gave Brian the benefit of the doubt and checked in a month later (60 days) and my wheels were not even half way done. Just to make a long story short, it was just one excuse over another. The excuses were endless, the shop is super busy, Brian is out sick, he has to take care of his sick mom, he has Charger game to go to, he was out of the office that day, he couldn't find the paint that I was looking for, he couldn't polish my lug nuts even though he promised he can do so, he's not at the shop because he has to deliver stuff, etc. 6 months later, my wheels were finally finished. Before the day I picked up the wheels, I text messaged Brian that I wasn't a happy with the long wait. His response as a business owner wasn't even sympathetic. It's true with the other reviews say, his customer service sucks! His response was that he did not want to continue to do work with me, I guess because I offended him. I told him that I'm a customer, and you know what they say, the customer is always right. I told him my intentions were to help him and his business by giving him feedback but he did not want to hear it. Also, I told him I referred a lot of people to his shop over the years and he didn't even appreciate that. I didn't want to argue with Brian so I told him I would take my time and money elsewhere. Please don't support a local business that's not going to support you. Again, read some of the horrible experiences on the reviews here. I'm taking the time out of my busy lifestyle to warn you or anyone else that's thinking of doing business with US Wheel. I'm sure there are other unhappy customers who haven't gotten a chance and / or just don't have the time to communicate a similar experience here on Yelp..... that's what's Yelp is for, to communicate and inform others whether a good experience or a bad experience. Bottom line, businesses like this shouldn't exist. There are many wheel repair shops in San Diego that can do the same job without a headache. Take your time and money elsewhere. I TOTALLY agree with Chau P. These guys don't care about customers at all. I dropped off a rim and had to keep calling them to find out the status. I came by to pick it up when they said it would be ready...still not done. It took them over 3 weeks to spray my center cap! Three times they told me they'd drop it off at my work when it was done (I work about a mile from them). The only reason to go here, is because you need it done CHEAP. I was quoted $215 and $250 to fix the bend in my 18" wheel! US Wheel did it for only $90! I want to bring them another set of rims I picked up to be spares/winter sets (I run super sticky tires in the summer...absolutely horrible for wet driving). But, I cannot seem to go back. They are so cheap it's hard to find somewhere else. I've had two of the rims I need fixed in the back of my trunk for 3 weeks now...but every time I drive by, I just keep driving because they pissed me off so bad. If I was you, I'd avoid them at all costs. If you just can't afford it...I hope you can wait, because they absolutely do not care if you have to wait.
