I didn't feel safe driving all the way back to Las Colinas and taking the highway and highway speeds on a near flat. So I drove around and stopped at FOUR separate gas stations only to find none of them had a working air pump. So I stopped in to see if they could fill my tire for me. No wait, was immediately asked to pull up and the worker named Adam was so quick and friendly and refused to take any kind of payment or tip because I'm "an essential worker" (I am a nurse and was still wearing my scrubs). He also thanked me for working during the pandemic- and said he just wanted to get me home safely. Adam- What you didn't know is that I had a crappy day at work and had worked an 8 hour shift with no lunch or other break. I was tired and in a hangry mood, and just wanted to go home. And you helped get me there quickly. You and your kindness are much appreciated. However, I recently sent my son there for his vehicle registration, and he was told there was an issue with his OBD connection that prevented them from completing the state inspection/registration process. He was told it would cost approximately $135 to fix. I told him not to authorize the repair and to take the vehicle to the Ford dealership for a second opinion. Ford checked the vehicle, told him there was nothing wrong with the connection, and completed what he needed in about 15 minutes. What concerns me most is that a younger or elderly customer might simply assume they have no choice but to pay for a repair like this. When my son told the employee he was going to Ford instead, his reaction made the situation even more concerning. I can only speak about our experience, and I'm not saying this happens to everyone. But in our case, we were told a repair was necessary, and the Ford dealership subsequently told us it was not. My advice: If you're told that something needs to be repaired before your inspection or registration can be completed, especially if it involves an additional charge, get a second opinion before paying for it. Businesses performing state inspections should be very clear about whether the problem is actually with the customer's vehicle or whether additional verification is needed. Customers shouldn't feel pressured into paying for a repair without having the opportunity to verify that the repair is actually necessary.

The shop rep, John, said they could do it but would need to charge a labor rate of $225.00/hr. They would charge a labor rate of $140.00/hr if they supplied the parts. I asked why such the difference in labor rate for the same effort, and he stated they needed to cover overhead cost and profit factor of parts is how they able to offer a lower labor rate of $140.00/hr. Having that stated to me, I won't be doing business with them and anyone wanted to take their vehicles in for repair should understand their business model.

went in for a front end alignment.... jarrel at front was great. when hte alignment was done,…read morejarrel had left and another person (young guy) tried to ring up the sale. little to no english. finally got through it. go in truck and drove away. seemed better than it had been.. tough to tell on local rodes at 30 mph. noticed that my tpms was no longer registerintg any tire pressure. did not correct itself. drove it next day, highway speed. not working. front end not as i had hoped. still swaying and drifting on highway. called mavis and spoke with andy. primary focus was tpms not working.. "not our fault" .. proceeded to assure me that with his yiears of experience and knowledge there is no way that a front end alignment could affect the tpms system. i suggested that maybe a wire had come loose or gotten pinched. andy was adament this was not possible. said it must be the sensors (all 4?) went in on saturday. spoke with jarrell. again, very professional. explained the scenario. brought out one of the techs.. explained the whole scenario to the tech, only to find out he spoke little english. but he spoke enough to say it wasnt their fault. seems to be a common theme.. oh well... i'll tell two people who will tell two people who will tell two people. seriously, the quality of people working on your cars now a days is pretty horrible. no oversight. anyone who can turn a wrench is hireable... pep boys, firestone, even dealerships (richardson dodge is the worst) good luck... rob h. carrollton tx
