I bought a new set of tires and wheels about 3 weeks ago because the tires on the car i was going to fix up was rotted and one of the wheels were bent. I later wanted to just cut my losses and sell the car so I asked if i could return the wheels and tires so i could put on another set that were not new and cheaper i could buy online. The sales associate Eddie who first helped me with my initial purchase told me to my face that I had 30 days to return the wheels for a full refund as long as they weren't damaged and the tires I would be subjected to a restocking fee since I have been driving on them. I said no problem! I went and bought a used set of wheels and tires off facebook marketplace and went to this discount tire to return my wheels and and tires. Only this time I was told that I could not return "anything" they would have to throw the tires away and I could only exchange my wheels!!! I said it had been within 30 days and they said no. On their website it says returns can be made on eligible items, I asked the manager what these eligible items were, and he couldn't tell me about a single item in that shop that was eligible for a refund! Only that refunds are decided on a case-to-case basis!! So apparently my case wasn't the correct case. I have purchased sooooo many tire purchases for mine and my wife's cars in the past form discount tire you'd think they would be willing to work with a very long and loyal customer!!!! This is just in regards to the specific Discount Tire in Mesquite because the one in Virginia was amazing. My son bought a set of tires for his car shortly after we moved here and they told him they would be in within a couple days. A week later when we still hadn't heard anything, I called due to my sons crazy work schedule. The person I spoke with sounded annoyed that I would call to find out the status of our order. He then informed me that they had to ship them from another location and they should be in the next day. Four days later my son calls to find out what's going on and they tell him, oh they are here. Communication is absolute crap at this location. Original salesman Alexis was very helpful, everyone else we dealt with was rude and acted like it was a bother to have to do their job. read more

I just went in to the location off 30 after getting off work they helped me even though they were closing up, I hit a pothole and had to change my tire to my donut, when I got there he noticed my spare was flat and aired it up and checked for nails. Full disclosure: I hate the political positions of the company itself, but I love their customer service. I've been going to Discount Tire for 24 years, off and on. So I went in with a flat tire. I was pretty sure the tire wouldn't be repairable - I'd driven on it a bit while it was low on air, and had already spotted sidewall damage. Unfortunately, they took one look at it and said yup, they won't be fixing it. It could PROBABLY be fixed myself with a patch kit, but I really wouldn't feel safe driving on it with the sidewall damage. And I drive for a living, I can't afford to have my car down. However, the tires on the car had come with the car when I bought it a couple of months ago. They prorated the tire based on tread wear anyway, as apparently it's a tire exclusive to Discount, which was a huge help for me. They decided to do this before they even looked up my phone number (so they had no idea about my long history with Discount). In the 24 years that I've been going to Discount, I've only had a few negative experiences with various Discount locations, and corporate always made sure I was made right when it was brought up. Discount, as a whole, definitely takes care of their customers. This was only my second visit to this particular location, but they definitely took good care of me. read more

Its 5:58 on a Friday. They close at six. I need a patch. I have just arrived, and I'm leaving town tomorrow. They take me, but they can't find my car in the system and I'm hesitant to pay for the patch out of pocket because I'm sure I bought the extended warranty last time. Went in for a screw. I know the tires were pretty worn and was budgeting for them soon. However when they took the tire off to patch... well it was bad news and could have been worse on the highway when I had a bubble blow out or it shredded as I was driving 75...ok 80 mph. Both were options upon seeing the inside. Forced my upgrade to 4 tires :(. But Jose and Greg took good care of me. Offered the current specials on the tires I needed and even ran up to north Plano on a Friday afternoon to get that 4th tire to get me out of there quickly. Boom! Bam! That tech had all 4 tires and lug nuts on and aligned in 20 minutes. All told about 1.5 hours. I really appreciated the care concern and treatment in making an unexpected 4 tire purchase. I was treated with respect, not taken advantage of bc I was a woman. I recommend this team to anyone. read more

Went in to try and patch a tire. Sales man told me they couldn't patch it due to the thread. He then recommended me to change ALL FOUR tires when the other tires are still in completely new (was told by a different salesman at another location). Very disappointed, lucky I went to a different location where the sales man did the very best he could do. I eventually bought one tire from the other location. This Discount Tire is new and fancy and much easier to get to than their old location on Broadway. I like these guys because they don't give you a run around. They didn't do all of this "I wouldn't risk it...the next thing on that tire you'll see is steel...you're putting your life in jeopardy by driving on that" ballyhoo. I HATE that. I mean, really, sometimes I just can't pay for $400 tires. Understand this. The guys at this location seem to. Before, they worked with me and comped me the warranties on the tire. I think the staff gets that people can't always pay for everything RIGHT THEN when they're finding all these problems you didn't know about. And, they are upfront with costs. At some other Discount Tire locations, they rolled the cost of the warranty into the total cost of the tire without telling me. At this place, they tell you. I also showed up on a Thursday afternoon. Got there 3 mins. before telling them I had another flat. I had bought a used tire from another DT location. My rear left tire was flat & they replaced it. When I got home I noticed that the replacement tire was flat again, so I called this location & they told me to bring it over. Jose took care of me despite the near closing time & he fixed my flat in no time. He was also apologetic on behalf of the other location. Jose was very prompt & professional. It took 10 minutes to get served after being second in line. Told an hour & 15 minutes. It took two & 15 minutes. I had to get up and ask when will they get to my car at hour two, and young man said I was next. That was after two people after me received their cars. Ugh, maybe normal, but not happy! We've done business for eight vehicles now through them and really can't remember this long a wait. They had 5 or more bays going and this was the worst of the experiences. I got here about 15 minutes before they opened. They waited until after 8 to unlock the doors. I told the guy I had two tires (that are brand new) that had nails in them. I told him we tried to plug them the night before, but it only held on one tire. I asked if they could patch both tires, and they took my car in. 30 minutes later, some guy came out and told me that since we tried to plug it ourselves, it was their policy that they couldn't do anything and they recommended I buy two new tires. It wouldn't be a big deal if they would have told me from the beginning that this was something they would be unwilling to do, and I wouldn't be as mad if they didn't try to get me to pay hundreds on new tires when a place down the street patched them both for $30. My car alerted me that my tire pressure was low. I stopped into the discount tire in Mesquite. The staff greeted me and let me know they would be with me shortly. They thought there might be a leak in one of my tires. They had me sign for $0 so they could check my tires out. As it turns out, the tires only needed air, so they filled me up and sent me on my way with a smile. The staff was professional and friendly. I am a long-time customer of this location and drive well out of my way to come here now that I have moved. However, I will continue to drive out of my way because of the stellar customer serice of the guys at this location. I come at off-peak hours and have never had less than speedy service. Everyone has always been informative and attentive, and super pleasant. I never feel as if someone is trying to get one over on me and up sell something I don't need. I brought my car in today to have the tires rotated. The tires are supposed to last 75,000 miles and currently have 40,000 miles on them. They have been rotated several times since being put on. I had taken the car into another location a few days ago to have them rotated and was told they wouldn't do it because they were bald. They tried to get me to get new tires then and there. I declined and left. My dad, who has worked on cars all of his life, checked the tires and assured me they were fine. Today I went to this location and was again told they were too bald but given COMPLETELY different measurements for how bald they were. Then I was taken in and showed the same stupid infographic in the lobby that they were showing everyone else. Everyone else was buying into their BS and getting the new tires. I was told I would have to have new tires put on to have them rotated. I was also told that inexplicably they had no record of me ever having had those tires rotated and was therefore not eligible for any credit on new tires. I let them talk to my dad on the phone and they tried to take him for a few hundred dollars, too. He informed them that we would be taking this car and our other six cars elsewhere. The man helping me hung up on my dad on my phone, threw away the paperwork he was using for my car and never said a word to me. My dad took it to his good friend, who is a mechanic and as a friend has a vested interest in our safety, and was told that this is DT's new corporate schtick. He's had tons of complaints come in recently over this new policy. He assured my dad the tires were fine and directed him to a new place to go. We took the car there and they independently agreed that the tires were more than fine. read more

I have used Discount Tires for the past few years. I'm new to the DFW area (moved from Houston) and this was my first trip to this location. I had a nail in my front tire that Firestone told me they couldn't patch. Apparently, Discount Tire found a screw in another tire. I new I had a couple or 3 tires that were from Discount tire but I wasn't sure which ones, and I didn't have proof regardless. I went in with the expectation that I was going to have to most certainly buy a tire (according to Firestone) and that even if it were a tire from Discount tire, "surely they weren't gonna be honest so that'd I'd have to pay for one." My bad guys! And I do apologize! They patched both of the tires (one which was not a tire from Discount tire) and I paid absolutely nothing! Zilch! Also, when Firestone rotated my tires, they didn't reset the sensors. Discount tire fixed that problem as well, free of charge. Thanks Discount Tire!!! I will DEFINITELY be using you in the future! I bought a set of tires from this store, I was out of the state and got a nail in one of the tires, these tires were special order. I called the store to order a replacement, they told me I could not order a tire over the phone. I told the I would give them my credit card # and would pay for it now. They said no. I called another tire store which I've never used before and ordered that tire with nothing down. Once they sell the tires, they couldn't care less about you. Never shop there again. read more
