First off, I want to say that I'm a customer who has very little knowledge about wheels and tires,…read moreso I trusted the professionals to guide me and do the job correctly. Last September, I went to this shop to purchase new tires. The price was decent, and I thought I had found a reliable place. Everything seemed great at first. Fast forward to the beginning of May--I brought my car back in because it was shaking and the steering wheel was swerving. The gentleman there told me my alignment was off and that I needed new tires again. I was confused because I had just purchased tires from them only a few months ago. When I asked for my service records, I found out they had only balanced my tires the first time--they never did a full alignment. As someone who doesn't know much about tire maintenance, I didn't realize that was something that should have been done or at least recommended. Because the alignment wasn't addressed, all four of my tires wore down unevenly and had to be replaced after only six months. I ended up paying over $200 more for new tires and an alignment on the front tires that could have saved me from this issue in the first place. Wanting a second opinion, I went to Les Schwab, where they did a full inspection and explained everything in terms I could actually understand. They told me the previous tire installation appeared rushed and poorly done. My tires were not properly balanced, and even the alignment dots on the tires were not lined up correctly, causing unnecessary wear and tear. Honestly, what upsets me is the carelessness. This is people's hard-earned money, and we trust businesses to provide quality work. I've now spent close to $600 fixing something that should have been done properly the first time. Lesson learned: do your homework, ask questions, and make sure you understand what services are being performed. Quality work may cost more, but poor workmanship can cost even more in the long run.

As I now write this my driver front tire is completely flat. Looks like possibly valve stem failure, but the tires have not been on the car more than 24 hours as of writing this. Bummed they are closed on Sundays... we'll see how convenient this is to get it fixed or resolved Monday afternoon after work.? Update...I was at their front door 8 o'clock Monday morning basically saying WTF. At first they said I should call AAA , for them, possibly to remove the tire for me to bring it to them. but I voiced my displeasure with that option considering I feel they put me in this position. The gentleman seemed to see the light and had a coworker follow me to the house, which was no more than 2 miles from the shop. They took care of it, new valve stem and all within an hour. To this date and time, tire still holding air so all looks good. Thank you again American tire for Above & Beyond service.

Since I have been getting my tires at America's tires for a long time now. I have an account set up with this company. However, when I called Pittsburgh America's tires to get a second time alignment. The guy on the phone named Carlos. Was very little to none help for me. The value of his professionalism is degrading. I felt like I was being mocked over the phone. He totally took my words out of conduct and twisted them. I basically had told him that my Mechanic had told me that I needed an alignment on my vehicle. Carlos's mindset was thrown off. Totally went off topic about the situation. Talking about how they don't do mechanical work. That's not what I was asking. What I was asking Carlos is how much would it be for an alignment? Then he's the one that told me that he did the alignment on my vehicle the first time. Then why am I having to go the extra stretch in explaining myself? If Carlos has originally did my alignment the first time? Why didn't he get what I was telling him? More to the story really. Because the converse over the phone was absolutely ridiculous. I had told him that I have history in the computer system with America's tires. He can look up my information by the computer. So back in forth , such a waste of time. Just totally back-and-forth when it's really simplistic work. How much would it be to get an alignment? I would like to make an appointment? Finally, I was already frustrated at the quality of Carlos' Customer Service skills. At little to none. I finally had told him that I would like to speak with a supervisor. Carlos had me on hold for awhile. No one came to the phone. Then he got back on the phone to listen to see if I was still on the phone. Finally, I hung up ! And contacted a supervisor named Robert. Please train Carlos on how to deal with customers. Both complicated and uncomplicated.
