Hubby had some troubles getting the battery swapped. I'm not very savvy about cars, so I can't tell you exactly what the trouble was. Something about the battery having been drained and the electrical system not allowing us to do ...whatever was needed. So Hubby went back into the store to see if the clerk had any ideas. Not content to simply stand behind the counter and offer suggestions, the clerk came out to our car and spent several minutes trying different things with Hubby. Ultimately, the solution involved some sort of safety switch hidden someplace no sane person would normally think of looking. While the clerk located and pushed the safety thingie, Hubby was able to get the car started. It seemed easy, but only if you know about the super-secret button. The clerk was very kind, very generous with his time, and very patient. Automotive stores all seem to be pretty much the same, really. But employees who care and are knowledgeable and patient are what makes this one stand out.

I asked why they would do that and he very unapologetically said that is what U-haul told me to do when we had a problem with the other guys reservation. I realize that Napa and U-haul have a partnership on this and that the main issue probably lays with U-haul, but the Napa employee was a total jerk about it and never once apologized. In this particular case, u-haul is making Napa look bad because of their logistical issues, and Napa is making U-haul look bad because of their terrible customer service. I guess these two companies were made for each other.

On it was a maintenance agreement they had slipped in at the end when we were unaware. Their only response was "isn't that your signature on the paperwork?" even though my husband and I vehemently told them that we had declined it not once but twice. I would not recommend VPT as a car dealership. They are dishonest and will try to bait and switch decisions you make - just to put more money in their pocket. I would give 0 stars if I could.

They called me and said it was going to be 1400$. I thought that was a bit high, but oh well. They then said they were going to save me almost 1000$ and it wasn't the fuel pump. It was a drive belt.I was elated to save $$$$. Go get the car and it originally won't start. What!??! We got it going and it lasted a week, then same old story as before. I called them and they said that they didn't fix the problem but the drive belt that they fixed was a maintenance issue! They would be happy to tow in my car and fix the fuel pump but they has the 1400$ estimate and they were sticking to that price! Crooks! I will never be back!
