Took a 2019 Rav 4 in for new calipers and brakes on the front. Found out after driving off they didn't put all the bolts in the driver side caliper, and it was falling off the rotor. The passenger side had no shims and makes noise. Contacted the store, they didn't want to fix it as it was too close to closing time, but purchased another caliper from Autozone, so I fix the car myself after paying $480. The general manager said they would refund my payment and that did not happen. I could have done this job myself the first time for under $200 in the daytime instead of having to break it down to avoid an accident. read more

This company tried to upsell me told me I needed over 5,000 dollars worth of work done as I'm being told I needed radiator, axels mind you the boots are not even leaking valve cover gasket they told me my alternator was wet a lot after I left I started looking myself and some thing wasn't right I went to get a second opinion the only issues I'm having is a radiator and control arm which they didn't even tell me about that. don't go here they lie must be behind on sales read more

Went here for an oil change on my 2010 Rav4. They broke the O ring in the filter and I lost all of the oil on the drive home. Only noticed when I flooded my parking spot with fresh oil. Had to get it towed to a Jiffy Lube to get a decent oil change. I understand why it was so cheap now. read more

It took three visits and about 7+ hours (I had to wait) to correct the new brakes they installed (front & rear) to have issues resolved. The boss said that "good help is hard to find". Not my problem! I've used the 120th & West Dodge (near Menards) shop for 7+ years and have never had an issue before now. I do not recommend Brakes Plus especially If you have to wait! read more

They didn't even look to see what the problem was on my vehicle, lied and said it was the tires. Got In my vehicle and the radio was on full blast. It's kinda hard to listen to what the problem is, if your taking it for a test drive. I wish I could give them a negative star. I've brought multiple vehicles here over the past several years for oil changes, brake jobs, suspension repairs. Managers I've encountered have always been very customer-oriented and trustworthy. I've been overall pleased with work performed here, and have benefited from some very nice discount offers for repeat customers. The only quibble I would have is with the quality of some shocks/struts I once got.. while they were lifetime warranty, that's just on the parts not the labor. So if the parts are of questionable quality you're still paying quite a bit for replacement. This is something I will be more questioning about if I ever need shocks/struts again. But again, overall, I've had good service and customer treatment here and recommend them. read more

This location is better customer service than the 168th location. They have said I have an appointment, but then when I called or showed up at that time, didn't have in their system. Worked me on cost of repairs, but got wrong parts & had to come back to install correct part. Also, one part failed after a few days. I had to pay for 1/2 cost of a diagnostic. read more

I've been here twice with two different cars, the first one had pretty bad brake issues and I had known about them for a while but neglected them. They fixed all the problems in a little less than day. On my most recent visit I wanted the brakes checked out on a newer used vehicle I had purchased and they informed me the brakes looked pretty new, but the lower ball joints and rear struts were shot, and even showed me what tests they used to determine what was bad. They've always seemed pretty straight forward and honest with me, so maybe others have just had bad luck. I haven't ever left here with a sour taste in my mouth, so I'll most likely keep coming back. read more

Car repairs and/or maintenance can be a frustrating and expensive process. All I can say is WOW! The entire staff treated better than family! From the moment I walked in the door till the time my repairs were done I received EXCEPTIONAL service. Josh, at the front desk, not only explained everything, he took the time to show me physically under my car what the issue was and why it was doing what it was doing. They were transparent in their pricing and took the time to make sure I had transportation to and from the shop while repairs were being done. Do not go to these guys. One of their guys pulled my car into their garage driving easy to fast out of their parking lot, bottomed the front of it out causing paint damage and they won't do anything about it "because it's a low car." Sorry, a Dodge Avenger isn't that low. read more

I had my brakes done at this Brakes Plus location a few months back....great experience. Recently, I started hearing the brakes squeak occasionally when stopping. I went back to Brakes Plus and they quickly got my car in and assessed and corrected the issue. They couldn't have been more nice or professional. Walked in and was *not* greeted by the non-gentleman who wandered in from the shop and asked me what I needed as if my showing up was an inconvenience to him. I informed him that I simply wanted an alignment check since I recently had 4 new tires put on my Discount Tire on 180th (which is great). He laughed and asked if I had an appointment. Nope, I didn't, because last time I went to another Brakes Plus I was in and out in about 30 minutes with no issues. Then he laughs and informs me that it would be 3 hours because they're all locked up on engine repairs among other things. Of course, I don't run an auto shop, but if I did I think I would expedite quick and easy alignment checks on the side of the major day-long repairs. I left and am taking my business elsewhere due to the long wait time partly, but mostly due to the poor customer service I experienced immediately upon my arrival. I wouldn't want that guy touching my car. On a side note, I find it strange that Discount Tire refers their customers to Brakes Plus for brakes and alignments considering how great the customer service and tire service are at Discount Tire as opposed to the lower quality folks that work for Brakes Plus. If I were Discount Tire, I would find another higher quality company to refer folks to. read more

I was annoyed by the fact that I only wanted to get my rear brake pads replaced, since I had a coupon for the $99 special, and they tried to sell me on several other repairs. There's always going to be something that can be improved, and I don't like having to get into a negotiation just to receive a simple service. read more

Not happy with service. Called and scheduled an appointment to change out brake fluid. The appointment was for 2:00 on a Saturday. Husband took off work to take in the vehicle. As of 3:30 my car was still not serviced. They told him they'll take it off the lift and we can bring it again another time. Nope, I will never take my vehicle there again. read more

Extremely disappointed with my experience. Took my Jeep in a week before Christmas to get my oil changed and get an answer about my check engine light coming on before I traveled home for the holidays. Was told I needed a new spark plug and that driving home across Iowa wouldn't be a problem and my dad should be able to fix it when I arrived home. The next week everything started falling apart; heat and radio stopped working, it wasn't starting, I started getting concerning warnings on the little computer screen, and then the day I was suppose to travel home it overheated. I completely changed my holiday plans and took it back to Brakes Plus. They then told me that I burnt up my motor and it needed to be rebuilt with no explanation why or how this was missed not even a week before. About a $2,600-$3,800 fix. Matthew did offer me a loaner vehicle to take home but not after telling me that it wasn't a nice favor to "go home and see my daddy" but only if I were to do business with him. After 10 days of having my vehicle and promising he could get the price down to $2,200 I went to pick up my Jeep. Actual price ended up being $2,350. They claimed they drove it around to ensure EVERYTHING was working well and that is was in great shape. But when I got in, it still said "needs service" and my window wouldn't stay up (not a problem I was having before). They reset the computer and got my window up. Not even three hours after picking up my car it is sitting in my gym's parking lot because IT WILL NOT START. read more

I spent a 1000.00 dollars thinking I would have a functional car. Well not true. The mechanic here does not know how to replace tie rods. My power steering rack was damaged. Power steering fluid everywhere. Thank god I had a lifetime warranty on the power steering rack I had replaced a few years ago. But I did spend 300 for labor on a part they obviously destroyed. If this business gives you a quote I suggest you double to cover the items you'll need to replace at a different shop. read more

RUDE and INVOICED FOR WORK COMPLETED THAT WAS NOT COMPLETED. * August 2013 took my vehicle in because of a noise it was making that made me uncomfortable. * Paid $390.00 for an axle. * The noise was not fixed, so I returned 3 weeks later. I drove around with an employee to ensure they understood what I was talking about. * After further inspection, Scott said that it was the rack and pinion and to fix this would be an additional 300.00 for labor. o I had this fixed at the Oak view store a year earlier and returned because I thought they were trustworthy. Now I wonder what I really paid more than $1000.00 a year ago. * Scott the "Service Manager" sternly scolded me when I said I felt that they replaced something that was not needed and the original issue was not repaired. * After an uncomfortable discussion with Rob, the store manager, it was agreed that they would repair my warrantied part and not DOUBLE charge me for the labor (since I had spent 400.00 for something that was not needed and did not fix my concern.) * Rob called and said your part is in, bring it in Friday and we will take care of it. o My faith and trust that I previously had for Rob and his crew was being restored * 6 hours after I dropped off my car, Scott calls and says it wasn't the rack and pinion and they did not receive the correct part (rack and pinion) but they have done something else that should have fixed the issue. * My invoice indicated that the warrantied part was replaced and the work completed. * My assumption is that they received the correct part (my warrantied part) and have probably made some money for a part that I will end up paying for a third time since I am now afraid to return for fear of sabotage to my vehicle. read more

I was referred to Brakes Plus by Discount Tire. They had accidentally broken a wheel hub bolt off of my vehicle, and gave me a voucher to get it fixed at no charge there. I picked the Oak View location randomly. While there, I asked them to inspect my brakes, as I knew the pads had 70-80k mikes on them, and was expecting to replace all of them. Suprisingly, they said that the front brake pads still had about 60% of life remaining,however the rear set needed replacement. Nice display of integrity, I thought. While inspecting the rest of my vehicle, they found a wheel hub assembly well worn, and in danger of coming off, and tie rod section right behind it that needed to be replaced. The shop manager, Matthew and the mechanic, Bob took me out in the shop and showed me exactly what the problem was.. A reasonable repair for a 2005 Tahoe with 199,000 miles. The finishing touch was an alignment, and Matthew went through the bill and applied several discounts to add to an already satisfying experience. I was on my way in about 3 hrs. The integrity and superior customer service I received here was a lot more than I expected. I would recommend them to anyone! They have a very wide range of services;not your typical brake shop. They went beyond my expectations, and I came back a month later to get as much done to my truck as possible before winter. I was willing to buy a new battery, but they tested mine, and said it was just fine.Radiator flush & fill? Nope, they said it was just fine too, but found that the serpintine belt was about to snap, so that got replaced. Nice. I'll be back in Omaha in another month, and will no doubt stop in, at least for a tire rotation. read more
