On my recent visit with a brand-new Cadillac, they drained the oil and then told me I needed to replace the oil drain plug for $15. This struck me as odd, since I've owned 15 new cars and never once been told that before. I questioned the manager, but she insisted it was necessary or at least highly recommended for safe operation. Later, two Cadillac mechanics confirmed that my plug was in perfect condition and only ever needs replacement if damaged. The part itself costs around $1.25, so being pressured into a $15 charge felt dishonest. When I called back, the manager acknowledged my loyalty but said the general manager refused to issue a refund. To me, this looks like a predatory upsell and not genuine customer service. After years of trust, I can no longer recommend this shop.

The light never went away and I later found out I actually had a nail in my tire the whole time. Pretty frustrating considering I specifically came in because I was worried about driving far safely.
