So I literally come to this location 4-5 times a month if not more but it's usually doing their busier hours so I failed to notice a lot. But this past week I went in during their not so busy hours and it was such an eye opener to how much this location lacks customer service. Cashiers need to learn how to appropriately bag groceries so they are not tearing our reusable bags, not making it too heavy and not mixing food with cleaning supplies. Cashiers need to stop telling us not to put our groceries on the conveyor belt with the exception of large, heavy items that they can scan. When they tell us to do this, we're left on the side bagging our own groceries taking even more time than we should be. Requests to put certain groceries (cold items) together or in a particular way should not be meant with rudeness or offense. Even when telling a cashier there's something under the cart, they tend to forget. Yet we are the ones who have to get back in line - AGAIN - when our receipts are checked and they notice the item under the cart was missed by the cashier! When asking an associate if they are opening up another line, we should not be ignored. My issues at this location is ALWAYS with the ill-trained, rude and seemingly lazy CASHIERS! ROMAN is one of them! I used to go to self check-out until you changed it to 15 or less. I could check out a ton of groceries more efficiently and appropriately if your self check-out line wasn't limiting! Please consider this! 1 star was the least I could do, but if there were 0 stars I'd give it that just for the CASHIERS! The parking is terrible, the store seems to have just as many employees restocking all aisles at all times as there are shoppers, yet someone to help you is nearly impossible to track down. That being said, when I absolutely determine the cost of the items I will need outweighs the myriad of cons of visiting here, I make a trip. As a disabled senior citizen, I have relied on Walmart to deliver food to my apartment. Unfortunately, the frozen foods arrive soft and spoiled, refrigerated items are warm and mushy. It's happened in the last 3 deliveries because delivery people don't keep perishable foods refrigerated or frozen as they should be. It's been 100+ degrees where I live! Walmart's disregard for the health and safety of their customers is a very serious issue, putting us at risk of salmonella and trichinosis. Calling Customer Service is a nightmare for people with auditory issues, especially when my calls go overseas. Not only is the reception terrible, but the heavy accents, limited English skills, and lack of ADA (Americans with Disabilities) accommodations make every call excruciating and incredibly frustrating! If you can go to a different Walmart, then please do so! The customer service is awful on many occasions. When I wanted to return something, I tried to go to the customer service center. When I asked someone to help me, the worker got angry and kept repeating that the service center closed at 8:30pm. I did not need an attitude; it was just hard to understand him the first time. Purchased some stuff and went to self check out. The machine had an error message so I asked the lady that was working the self checkout to help me. Instead of communicating what the issue was, she goes through my bags unfolding stuff that I had neatly folded as if I stole something and then puts it back in the bags unfolded and then proceeded to fix the error on the machine. I didn't like how she assumed I would steal such cheap crap and didn't even communicate what the issue was. I wanted to put the stuff back so bad and just say forget it you're not taking my money, but everything I had was for my child who was excited about the stuff. I will never go to that dirty place again. Customer service is garbage! If I wanted to steal why would I bring the lady over to my machine? That is just dumb! Then as I left I get asked for my receipt after the man clearly saw me leave from self checkout. He had no idea what to even check for. He just wanted to ask for my receipt. A true audit or check would require you to count the items in my bags and match it up to my receipt. Clearly this store wants you to feel harassed. I have gone to this location 3 separate days to try and gain my fishing license. I was told by a worker in the auto department that only 1 person out of the whole Walmart has the capabilities to issue one. Gave me the hours and days this guy supposedly works and try my attempt the following week. I come back on a wed during the hours this guy is suppose to work only to find out he's on leave. From there I try to call this location back only to be placed on hold for over 20mins then to be hung up on. This location has the worse customer service. Let alone only having one worker to issue fishing/ hunting licenses is pretty bizarre, seeing how gaining on in person in Alexandria is slim location finding. We have been varying our grocery shopping locations since covid has affected being social and going out. The store had signs for social distancing and supplied cleaning wipes for shopping carts. The register lines were long. I decided to use the self check out. I had issues scanning an item. I couldn't locate an employee and didn't want to wait any longer. Meh. This Walmart is "OK" at best and while I've never necessarily had substantial problems here, I also haven't had the best experiences like I have at other Walmarts in the area. Often times the shelves are empty and disorganized, making shopping a bit difficult. Typically if I'm shopping for house essentials I'm able to navigate those aisles better than the grocery section. There is usually a decent amount of staff there, so the lines aren't a problem. However I have never asked for help or assistance getting things, so I can't speak to whether they are helpful. I will say EVERYTIME I come in there is a long return line, so if you're planning to make a return bring your patience. Other than that this is an OK walmart to do some shopping, but certainly not the best or cleanest in the area. read more

For drive up pick up they won't pick up the phone so you can't get your order even after driving 45+ min to get there. I don't even know there to start they will give you ALL the wrong items for drive up pick up EVEN IF YOU SELECT NO substitutions on orders, they have no problem giving up open napkins and open used items for your order to, if its crushed and open YOU WILL GET IT on the drive up order pick up. When you try to call back to let them know they will no answer your call (clearly they have caller ID). The items are smaller and cheaper so they're basically committing fraud and stealing your money. I can't understand why corporate doesn't do an entire overhaul on this location. Mostly everything is fine but there is this one worker at the self checkout that is always looking at me and my sisters up and down when we buy stuff . She used to just stare at us but now she has escalated to trying to look through our bags when we are about to be done paying . Already starting the year off nasty at this location. I read reviews their customer service was bad and I experienced it first hand my first time in this location and I WONT BE BACK! We were by the electronics and a guy staff said the bathroom was nearby. I got to the back with my daughter who was about to pee on herself and the lady worker (long nails, seemed to be a teenager and her hair wrapped up in a beanie) she waved my daughter away from the bathroom with no explanation. That strike 1 don't treat children like that! So I noticed the cleaning bin and said ok we'll which one can we use...pointing to the women and male rooms and she replies well you could just use the bathrooms in the front. Strike 2 tone was demeaning and rude. I said I don't shop at this one didn't see them but oh ok thanks...and she continues to respond (like duh) yeah the ones at the entrance when you first come in. I said honey I t's too soon for the attitude in the new yr already. I said I don't shop here and your tone and attitude is unnecessary!! Learn how to talk to people or you'll get an irate customer who won't hold back on response either!! This location needs to train employees on customer resolution, a refresher course or something! It could've simply been you can use the bathroom available since she didn't have them both closed anyway as opposed to making my 9yr old run back to the front of the store! I would give this place zero stars if I could. I have lived in the area my entire life and avoid this place at all costs unless it's an emergency. First off, it's FILTHY. There are messes in every other aisle. I'm not sure if it's from customers or from employees simply not tidying up, but it's always a mess. The employees are rude and do not go out of their way to help customers. There is one particular employee, an older woman with dyed red hair, who is incredibly rude and barks orders at everyone in her vicinity . I really don't know what her job is because she literally stands in one spot and doesn't move. I can't imagine her being "security" because that would require her to move. I ordered and paid for 4 tires at Walmart on line and scheduled the install for 5 days later at their Kingstowne Auto Center. I arrived 45 minutes prior to the appt time to wait in line 50 minutes to be told to go to the service desk to ensure the tires were in stock? Really? Red Flag 1 After confirming the tires were in stock, it went relatively smoothly until time to pay. It took them 30 minutes to locate the receipt, but charged me $426.00 again for the tires. After 4, there is no management on site, so the transaction couldn't be voided! There were 8 of us just waiting to be checked out, but only a single station to do so with a transaction that needed to be voided. One service tech tried to void but his availability to do so had been terminated. One lady got a text her car was ready, but they couldn't find the car or her keys! Finally after nearly an hour a manager showed up, while the lady with the missing car was on hold for over an hour for a manager who never picked up. The shining pin hole of light was Emmanuel. The guy stuck with all of this mess. One guy, huge line of upset customers. He remained calm,cool and collected as they say. He truly did his absolute best to solve the issue. He was apologetic and kind throughout even though all 8 of us were surely murdering him with our eyes. I got out easy compared to others. Lesson: everything has a price and it's not always $$$. We all went to Walmart Auto in Kingstowne to save some green, but we all paid what we saved, and then some in time and aggravation. This place is a dump. Not that I expect a lot from Walmart to begin with but geez.....on a good note, I had to quickly replace my helmet- bicycle and they had descent collection. Better than Target actually. The store is just icky. They did have a McDonalds inside which at the time seemed like a great idea but my kid found some red thread in her bagel bacon egg and cheese sandwich. ‍note to self don't eat at Walmart eateries! But the one thing I completely don't understand is how they don't want to honor price matching their online prices directly from Walmart.com. I tried getting something price match on the self checkout. The employee was a lady with limited English middle age. She told me Walmart no longer price matches.....including online prices. So I walked to one of the cashier registers with an actual employee ringing items. I talked the gentleman Mohammed. He price math the item right away no questions asked. Showed him the item directly from the Walmart app. I tried avoiding this particular Walmart from the Kingstown location, but is the closest to my house. 11/17/20: Don't go to this one with your fam. It's def the worst one in NoVa I've ever been to. We went grocery shopping at a euro market and my hub needed more stuff. That's how we ended up here. It was hub, me and my kids. People are baseline rude and it was crazy busy for a Tuesday night. This guy was talking on his cell phone cussing aloud. I stopped what I was doing to turn and mama bear glare at him. Who cusses in public around fams on a boring Tuesday... shopping for holiday cookies???! Second and third order will be canceled as soon as I am released from quarntien. What a pathet store policy!! This location is the closest to my place but it's still a 20+min drive so I don't go here very often. It's a large supercenter so it has most of what you expect at a typical Walmart. Minus a produce department, food court, or a car repair shop. The parking lot is always packed and the store is always busy. So keep that in mind if you're trying to make a quick trip for a couple of things. The customer service area is kind of a nightmare though because it's a small area at the entrance, there's always a long line, plus the bathroom is in the same area which means there's A LOT going on here. This is the worst Wal Mart I've ever been to. Oh my lord is it bad. The moment I entered I knew it would be bad news. The aisles where they stock food are super cramped. You can barely get 2 carts side by side in the aisle. Their food selection is terrible anyway, it's just frozen food, unhealthy snacks and sugar water. No point in even shopping there for groceries. But my real complaint is about the people they're employing at this location. Many of them seem to speak very little English or none at all. That kind of creates problems when a customer has a question, doesn't it? I went to the sporting goods section in search of ammunition for a 12 gauge shotgun. I went to the counter where they keep everything gun related, but there was no one there to attend to me. I waited patiently for 10 minutes. Still no one. Unfortunately, the ammunition is stored in a glass case that is located BEHIND a glass counter, meaning it's very difficult to make out what types of products they have in stock. I'm fine with them locking this stuff up, but what's the point of having it in a glass case if the customers have to stand 10 feet away behind an additional counter? Idiotic set up. So I left and went to the pharmacy to pick up a few things. When I was done I decided to swing back and see if anyone was servicing the counter. Nope! Not a soul. So I waited some more, again. Finally, a man speaking broken English which was very difficult to understand arrived to inform me that Wal Mart would no longer be stocking shotgun shells. Is this guy serious? I couldn't tell if he actually knew what he was talking about or if Wal Mart had just adopted the dumbest possible policy. I wasn't going to waste more time trying to get more information, especially not out of this guy. Abysmal. I have used the pharmacy here for insulin fills for my diabetic cat for YEARS. Honestly, I wouldn't step foot in this location for any other reason. Today, I've decided to take my business elsewhere as the pharmacy and their technicians don't follow any sort of protocols and have no consistency in when they enforce "rules."
