This place is still one of my favorite department stores of all time. Even though they have been closing stores left and right, I am thankful that there are still a few stores left in the DC area. Today was a semi-free day for me, and I wanted to get a polo shirt and a couple of pairs of jeans for the summer. They actually have a clearance seal for the jeans, but unfortunately not for the Polo shirts, as those are virtually never on sale. Finding someone to help me wasn't the easiest, but I was able to find the right size that I needed for the shirt anyway. The escalator to get down to the men's section was also out of service which made me look for an alternative to get to the lower level. This location has great sales discounts found on the top floor dedicated to lower priced merchandise, the Backstage department. They have new items frequently arriving like clothing, home products, shoes, off-season, and accessories. The luggage section has lower priced items, but the savings are not significant. What I do like about it is the organization of items. Most stores with discount departments/areas are typically messy, unorganized, or cleaned less frequently. read more

My first time at this Macy's was not ideal. The escalator to the third floor was out of order. The bathrooms on second floor were so so. Despite a crowded parking lot , not many people were shopping in Macy's. I only saw two sales people working and two shoppers browsing on the second floor. The place seem very clean and organized. The selection of clothing merchandise was well displayed yet most of it did not appeal to me. I did not check the prices & clothing merchandise up close so the value & quality of the merchandise can not be rated fairly for me. read more

Never buying again at this store, I bought a men's cologne as a gift, and when the recipient opened it, the bottle was empty. I went back to exchange it, and the person helping me was a man named Sammy or something like that, who said he was "calling a manager" for help. The "manager" never arrived, and they couldn't resolve my issue. My advice is to check things carefully so this doesn't happen to you. Might you I spend $144 dollars on this. read more

Did an on line order. Realized it was wrong color. Called the customer service and they would not change or cancel my order person said it was more than 30MIN. UNBELIEVABLE. It was about 40min. What a terrible policy won't order on line from Macys again! read more

This Macys is huge! Great staff with cologne and suits. Have been very impressed with the folks here. Yet Macys is in a interesting position. They've done well, but inflation creep is real. They have raised a lot of prices. One thing I've noticed, is after a period of inflation, is rarely so prices go back to their regular amount. My concern is it won't at department stores, and other forms of business. As for the employees well done. This has to be the Macys with the best cologne section, but suit sizes have been disappointing. Also the same goes for active wear. Am a tall guy, but plenty of others exist. I do like the Toys R Us return. Best guess is this is just the beginning of something great, as they only have a few items thus far. If in the area this department store is quite decent. read more

Not sure where to start. Nothing positive about this location. The store is filthy, no inventory and the employees don't want bothered. The dressing room floors are covered with garbage and clothes. Only one dressing room area open with 5+ people in line waiting to try on clothes. Asked if another could be open and the manager couldn't find the key and wasn't interested in helping waiting customers. read more

There was a lady with her arms crossed leaning against the counter I asked for help she was unhelpful and just pointed to where I had already been. Macy's customer service years ago would be amazing. Especially in the bra and underwear section. The ladies would whip out the tap measure, measure you show you bras, help you in the dressing room and get other sizes should you need them while helping you size for bras. Now nothing. No help, not even a glance and that's even IF you can find an employee in that department. So depressing. I left without anything new, no help and in my same old ill fitting bra. It's just sad. Maybe nordstroms will be more helpful to me. I was literally begging macys to take my money. I guess they don't work on commission anymore. read more

Horrible experience buying a couch from this store. The staff are dishonest and unknowledgeable. I was told that it would take 6-8 weeks to deliver our couch, after paying the deposit and waiting 4 weeks I called the store to get an update on the delivery date. I was then told that it will take 12-15 weeks and that it never takes only 6-8 so they were not sure why we were told that. At this point I was pretty upset because what I was originally told was not accurate and I would have never agreed to waiting 12-15 weeks. So I asked if they could just refund me the deposit and cancel the order. They then told me they cannot do that because it was a custom order and had to be made. Even though they lied about how long it was going to take. They then told me the delivery date would be Dec 5th or earlier. So I decided to just suck it up and wait it out. Now come Dec. 5th I called again to check up on the delivery. They are now telling me "well Dec 5 is just an approximant date and it will most likely be 3-5 more days" and then it will take another week after getting to the warehouse to be delivered to my house. Meanwhile I have had no couch in my house for 3 months! They refuse to rush the order or give me a refund and I am still without a couch. AVOID BUYING FURNITURE FROM THIS STORE AT ALL COST. AND AVOID USING AZIAB AS YOUR SALES PERSON. She has lied to us to from the beginning just to make the sale and has continued to make up dates and promises every time I call. Save yourself the headache and time. read more

Sadly this location has become a bit of a dump. This is both with how well (or more accurately not) the store is stocked, but also how messy and disorganized it is. This is especially the case with Macys Backstage Pass, which is to be expected, but also the store overall. Further, the escalators are currently working but for THE longest time didn't work at all and one had to use the elevators to get to any of the two of the three upper levels. Some employees are nice, others can be rude. I tried to complain to a manager about how the posted hours were wrong as I got there when the store was closing and got such an inappropriate attitude. Whomever is managing this store needs to be trained or fired. I felt like I was in Marshalls. Nothing is on the right rack and there is crap everywhere mismatched from one rack to the next. The shoe department is deplorable. Felt like JC Penny's quality style shoes for old ladies. If all of their stores are ran like this, it's no wonder the stores are closing. They have a nice furniture section on the 3rd floor. I like the mattress section. It is homey and restful. It is also large and doesn't feel claustrophobic. Abdul was helpful and not pushy. Nuances that customers would miss such as "On this side the bed is firm, and on the other side it is plush" were explained. There is a ton of variety in mattresses at different price points unlike "Mattress Firm" which quote on the higher side of the market. One buys mattresses infrequently. That said this is a good place with great customer service. read more

This Macy's is located on the other side of the Springfield mall. Offering a variety in women's/men's/juniors/kids clothing wear, bed & bath products, shoes, handbags, beauty products, and accessories, I recommend in parking in the North area if there are any spots. You walk through the youth wear and through the accessories/make-up, and getting up to the women's department on the second floor is quick and easy. While the selection and the sizes are a little scarce compared to the old Landmark location, I can still depend on Macy's to have a last-minute, simple cocktail dress for work or social events. Just note that some items can be on wrong hanger sizes, and some of the clothing can be disorganized, but overall, with some patience, you'll be sure to find something that you're pleased with. The dressing rooms seemed to have gone under some renovations, with tiles and the walls not complete with some dust to spare; patrons are not so good, however, in bringing out any tried-on clothes. Checking-out is a breeze, as there are many cashier kiosks around. Two years later and still no air flow, in fact I actually think it is worse. Better yet, I listened to the woman at the counter tell another customer they were working on it. That is either a flat out lie or the Macy's team cares so little that two years later it is still a work in process. I went to this location because I had a plan that began with the Macy's visit and then proceeded to a couple other locations in the area. My plan was derailed when, after trying on a couple of bras, I felt hot and wet. The air flow gets worse and worse the further into the store you venture but even more horrible is the air flow and quality in the dressing rooms. In the end I found a couple in my size, used the discount offer, and get the hell out of there. I never did make it to my other destinations because all I wanted to do was get home and shower. I work at Wolf Trap during the summer months, I know what being hot is like, this was worse because it was dead and stagnant air. It was literally like being in a sauna. I felt so gross after all I could do was head home and take a shower. The staff was nice and the check out went well. Truly I feel bad for the woman who work there and have these conditions. Given the condition of the dressing room I can only imagine what the stock and staff areas are like. They might want to look into seeking hazard pay. Two years and the air glow has only gotten worse. My takeaway is that Macy's does not care about this location. That said, I cannot foresee myself ever using this location again. read more

Today I was at Macys buying gifts for this Christmas and Tsehai Medlin and Hanaa treated me very well. they were very attentive, cordial and felt bad for not being able to give me a discount. I spent almost 400 dollars on perfume and I asked for a discount and unfortunately they didn't give me any discount. The truth is that I would not buy again because they do not give discounts to customers, although the attention of these two women was excellent and it is for them that I gave 3 stars. I hope the managers or owners of this place reflect and give discounts so as not to lose customers, as in this case they lost me and everyone I know. I will tell everybody that they do not give discounts on perfumes in this store. read more

I am thoroughly disappointed to learn when I went to exchange a Last Act item of clothing I purchased on 10 May 2022, the 30 day return policy changed. I didn't try the clothing on in the store because I figured I could exchange it if need be Good customer service would have been for the cashier to state that at the time of sale. I typically don't look at my receipt due to knowing the amount I paid is correct. I figure I'll save a lot more money at this point since I typically don't purchase clothing if I don't at least have the option to return. read more

This evening I went to make a fragrance return to the Macy's store located inside Springfield Mall in Springfield VA. Upon arrival I noticed that there were two ladies in different sections in the second floor as customer service representatives. One was having an issue with a customer so I decided to go to the second one. The second lady was polite and told me to go to the actual customer service desk for a fragrance return. Once I got to the desk the lady behind the counter asked "how can I help you?" As I was placing the item on the counter, I could see in her eyes she wasn't too happy and sharply told me "go downstairs for that" I said well I was told to come here, could you help me?. She advised she was going to talk to her manager and left me waiting for about 10 minutes. She came back and with an attitude she said "last time I do this for you. You can't return anymore fragrances here ok?". I was upset and embarrassed when she made that remark as if I've come and return items before! This was my first time EVER returning an item to a Macy's store and this was the way I was treated?! She's supposed to be a customer service professional as she's representing the store and this was very unprofessional. As I customer I can't see myself coming back to this location to be treated that way. Macy's return policy states " Any new or gently used Cosmetic or Fragrance product purchased at Macy's that does not meet your needs will be accepted for return." It never says you're only allowed to return a fragrance once and you're prohibited to make any future returns. Terrible service. read more

To be honest, the men's section has always made me feel like I was entering a cave. I can't believe they have not updated (or cleaned it would seem) this area since I worked here over ten years ago! I figured since the mall is now closed Macy's would probably be getting a face lift to keep customer's coming in, but I guess that was not the case. The poor sales people looked completely overwhelmed by the tornado that swept through their department, the register had so much back items on it there was little room to ring up the couple of shirts we purchased. MACYS FURNITURE: This review is ONLY and SPECIFICALLY for Mr Obaid. Amazing customer service, honest, thorough, clear, with a positive attitude... which is why you will see a line for him. Thank you for that experience - and I will update once my furniture finally arrives (2 mo wait)... At one point he even assisted one customer, who was visibly irrate with the Macys' customer service hotline and he was super patient and got a rep on the phone and fixed her issue and she just lit up. THIS IS NO ORDINARY REVIEW for Macy's since their stores are pretty much all the same, today I put their return policy to the test. In the past you could return clothing items at any time as a former employee I knew this...so long story short I returned two pair of jeans that I had not worn in months (ok years) with no receipt and no tags, but in pristine condition. All of this was for a cologne(Lacoste) which I will get to later. The gentleman who handled my return was an older tall fellow Paul (looks like Peter from Atlanta Housewives) in men's shoes, his service was top-notch no hassle, no questions and did a comparison for the jeans I wanted to return and gave me a fair sale price of $21 each for the Rocawear and SeanJohn jeans (now you know why I returned them) in the form of a gift card which is all I wanted. All of this was for the cologne Lacoste Essential that they have in fragrances, it smells great and the sweet lady Setsuko handled my purchase and gave me a FREE Lacoste duffel bag that came in TODAY. The bag I think is easily worth $40 but who the hell knows. I was in it for that smell good. I've had that Armani and Kenneth Cole Black but this is a shirt grabber like those Axe commercials, check for yourself cuz on Lacoste website they are mailing free samples, so hook your loved ones up. Sorry for the J. Peterman style review but I was excited. Oh and I'm not dirty the jeans didn't fit don't judge me. And I washed them before returning them, so there. Brand new on the inside. It has recently undergone a lot of renovation to get match the inside of the mall. Sparkling new floors and fresh paint everywhere. The women's shoe and cosmetics departments are gorgeous. They don't have as much stock as Pentagon or Tysons, but it's not a regional center so I don't expect them to. They have all the brands I need, LEVI's, Rachel Roy, Calvin Klein, and INC which is a Macys owned brand has a ton of fashion now. The bathrooms have just been renovated read more

Macy's usually has exactly what you need, but not this one. The customer service is terrible, slow, and unhelpful. I'm not sure if it's the holiday help, or a consistent issue here. Signs for sales were posted before the items actually went on sale, and I was refused the sale price. I don't think they have a free people section, which is a bummer. They get two stars, because one it is convenient, and two, Macy's backstage is affordable and usually has some good deals. If you have the option, go somewhere else. read more

BUYER BEWARE! If I could leave zero stars, I would. I placed an online order to be picked up at this store, but did not get there within the seven days allowed. I wrongly assumed that my purchase would be returned to the shelves and my card refunded, as I never picked up the merchandise. However, I was still charged and am now in a long, drawn out process with Macys to prove I wasn't the one who picked up the items. Not only was the 1-800 number unhelpful, but it was nearly impossible to get anyone from the store on the phone, and when I did, the manager at the store was rude. What happened to customer service? Came to Macy's Springfield to buy furniture . Unfortunately, Abdoul, the sales guy that was assisting me was more interested in assisting other customers than work on my custom order . He suggested I go walk around the store while he works on my order saying he need to work on a desktop and needs to concentrate . The moment I walked away he went on to assist another customer . I had to look for another sales agent in order to help me with my order , and it did not take more than 10minutes to get my order in . Such a disappointing experience . I've always had a hard time with Macy's but after today, I think I found the employees I want to constantly come to for shopping! My mom and I came in today looking for Christmas gifts and we ended up at the Estée Lauder counter and were greeted by Nina and Kay and we felt SO welcomed and literally at home! We bought 6 gifts and they helped us with wrapping paper and ribbon for each one of them. In addition to all of this, they also talked to us as if we've known them for our entire lives. The service desk is horribly operated. At 10:45 am on a weekday, there were 12 people in line with returns. I needed to pick up an online order. It looked like there should be 2 lines but no one was enforcing it. If you want to pick up an order, you wait behind dozens of returns that take forever. Thankfully, I saw a staff member named Ibrahim, and reached out about the obvious chaos. He was extremely kind, located my order in the back, and brought it to me. If it wasn't for bumping into him, I would have waited at least an hour to pick up. Someone needs to take control of this process. read more

This store is a shit hole! There are never any associates around - it's a massive pigstye! Clothes piled everywhere. The store is kinda dirty, fitting rooms unmanned and nothing is new or nicely taken care of at this location. And don't even get me started on those bathrooms located all the way up on the 3rd floor. OK-the mall is revamped and looks pretty good for Springfield. Why is the Macy's so bad? 1. No remodel despite new surroundings. 2. Inside looks circa 1998 at best. 3. Dirty carpets 4. Appears that assortment is limited to "one" of everything. I like Macy's overall and it surprises me that this location is so janky when you can drive to Landmark Mall and find a really lovely location despite the terrible Landmark mall..........This question begs to be answered. read more

I hadn't been to this Macy's in years...maybe decades? I always had envisioned a sad, dark store with not much of a selection. I decided to stop in recently, since I just relocated to NOVA and I found out that they have a maternity section, which not all Macy's have. Now that I'm starting to get uncomfortable in my regular clothes, I decided I needed to suck it up and see what's available for us preggo ladies. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in...it looked like any other Macy's in the area. It was brightly lit and looked organized, which was a welcoming sight. I made my way over to the maternity section, and was happy to see different jean styles and work pants. I'm a short girl, and thank goodness they had petite sizes available. They even had a little belly pad that I could put under my clothes to see what I would look like with a belly. The maternity section doesn't allow the use of Macy's coupons so know this ahead of time, but they had a nice sale going on, so I didn't mind. The staff lady was super helpful too, and offered to call me when they have a particular size and color dress pant in stock. Yes, the parking lot is crappy, and yes, the whole mall is under renovation so it's a sad sight on the outside, but that's not going to prevent me from stopping by this Macy's again.
