If you're willing to dig through the racks you can find some great deals. I found an Adrianna Pappel dress for $30 and then a week later saw the same dress in Macys for over $400. The lines are long and it's often cluttered, but if you go during the week it's not too bad. read more

I popped in here to return some "Covid protocol no dressing rooms available" purchases. First off, this place is spotless, wow, and I was immediately greeted upon entering. I jumped in the super long line and prepared to hunker down lol. To my surprise & delight it moved super fast. The lady at the register was such a delight and so kind & helpful; she made my returns simple. Too bad they don't have names on the receipts because I did not pay attention to if she had a name tag on & don't want to physically describe anyone on here. 12/17/22 It's been a while since we have been here. One of the last times I was here is when I was pretty new to the area of Alexandria Virginia. This time around, I saw a lot of Christmas based themes around the the store. From Santa Claws to bare claws. From a Snoopy Christmas mug to candies galore. Yes, TJ Maxx has a lot of bundles of goodies. I don't remember what we came in here for, but I did enjoy seeing the different clothing style of women wearing tights and making the outfit look good...unless they were wearing Uggs or something like it. I digress. This store was organized in many section dispite how busy it was. In other section of the store... "chaos chaos everything's chaos." (Smile if you get the movie reference) Still, employees were doing what the could to restore the balance and organization of the store. As Berry sang in High Fidelity, "Glory be..." well Berry would have said more, but he was interrupted by Bob Gordon. I digress again. I almost bought the Snoopy Mug, but held off of doing this, because of all the kitchen mugs we already have. So I took a photo of the mug and this will have to do. I did not inspect the bathrooms of the store, but I did see a photo of the restroom from another time. I hope this has be cleaned up for the perfect ass now. This review is solely based on a customer service experience. We came in during the weekend for an exchange, and the service we received was impeccable. The cashier (I wish I could remember her name, she was lovely) and Mary were so helpful. My brother had purchased a pair of pants without noticing there was a rip in them, and they went above and beyond to make sure he left happy with his exchange. Thank you so much! read more

Normally my shopping experience in Kingstowne is nothing short of amazing. I did have an awesome cashier however as I was exiting I complimented a customer on her earrings. She pointed toward the jewelry counter so I beelined over to find them. I picked up at least 3 different pairs as I can never stick to what I came for in TJMaxx. No one is at the counter, a woman who is caucasian asks the salesperson if she can pay for her one piece of jewelry there. She was told "yes of course". I went to line up behind her to which I'm told "you have to go to the main cashier line". Mind you that line is nothing short of 20 people. I ask "why would I have to go there when I just heard you tell her she can pay here"? I then say, nevermind I no longer want these things read more

I have a TJ Maxx in my area, but, I was at the movies in this area and I thought I'd stop in to shop! I found a couple of shirts. I needed to use the restroom and I couldn't believe how trashed it was. I was there at 2 p.m. on a Tuesday afternoon. According to the employee I found by knocking on the break room door, they are only cleaned once a day, in the morning. I think that is unacceptable. The water was running when I walked in. I couldn't access the handicapped stall, it was locked from the inside, but empty. This employee was SO SWEET and nice and TJ Maxx should be very grateful that she works there. She took time out of her lunch to sweep the ladies room. Who does that?! Get your act together TJ Maxx. I walked out without my purchases as I was so disgusted by the restroom. read more

This TJ Maxx is located in the Kingstowne plaza and offers comparable clothing in terms of generic tops, bottoms, and dresses. They also have a small designer section, but make sure you check out their clearance sections, as even those designer labels are mixed within. I was lucky to find a Helmut Lang and a Missoni sweater for pennies, so that was fantastic! Specialty items are definitely scarce, though. Clothing are not too organized, and sizes are all over the place and interchangeable. The SAs here are also a little less friendly compared to the other TJ Maxx locations. +limited and disorganized selection +not-too-friendly staff read more

This retailer always has great items. However, they really need to get it together with online returns. They become a hassle due to the long delay. Also, why do the managers always look miserable? We visit Kingstowne and Hybla Valley locations the most and both are awful. They never smile or seem to want to assist their employees. I would be miserable if I worked for someone like that. read more

I have to say that this LOCATION has a terrible customer service. The employees who stand at the door are very picky on who to greet. I mean they have ONE job to just say " hello". Like today, the lady that was standing didn't even look or greet me too busy on her phone. But when another lady came right after me, she was all welcoming and chatty with her. Pretty average TJ Maxx ... The lines tend to get longer in the afternoon, but then again, the entire area gets really busy in the afternoons into the evening... The store is pretty organized in terms of products are where they are supposed to be and the staff is helpful. All in all, its a great store! Much better to shop here then in the near by Ross location. It always seems like pandemonium in there. Parking can be tough as well. read more

I like the selection of items at this location however the employees are not great. Very pushy about opening up a credit card when i politely declined twice. Also in my recent trip while i was at checkout a manager was arguing with an employee right in front of me where he told her "i was speaking thank you..." to which the argument got a little heated and uncomfortable for me to say the least. keep your employee/ manager arguments away from customers it's very rude. read more

It breaks my heart to write this review because I truly love Tj Maxx. However, moving to this neighborhood recently and making multiple trips I had to say this location is absolute trash. The customer service, even down to the managers are rude and inconsistent. It takes a lot to make independent shopping miserable and the 5 mins you spend checking out at the register will do exactly that. read more

Im a lover of TJmaxx and this location is one of my favorite. I drive from Arlington just to visit this location. I can always find something worth adding to my closet whenever I visit. I love this TJ Maxx! I can always find some great brands here. I am docking one star because I honestly think the selection is not as good as it used to be. *But* this location is clean, always pretty well-stocked, and that makes me happy! Brands I have seen pretty consistently: Hudson jeans, Joes jeans, Lucky Brand, Michael Kors, Calvin Klein, and more. The clearance section is not super great here and I always love perusing the sale but I almost don't ever bother here. Shoe selection is pretty great, it is more on the expensive side but the brands and quality make up for it. This location is in the Kingstowne Shopping Center, which is great because there is a theatre there, plenty of food choices, and lots of parking. Overall I enjoy coming here occasionally to kill some time (it doesn't hurt that World Market is right next to it too!). read more

This location is really disorganized and the associates are really rude . I just left after standing like 20 minutes, line there was very LONG .I was going to purchase a two lady's purses Amount of $380(was going to spend like $380 for two purses ). Was 6-7 cashiers just walking around , 2 of them was taking , 1 lady was collecting the hangers , from all this 6 people the only one was helping the young girl and the 12-15 customers waiting for help ... Bad , bad , bad service - the manager lady from Eastern European I guess she is the manager (very unprofessional)... Very slow service ! read more

From the several TJ Maxx's in the area this one has been my favorite so far to venture to for trendy clothing items. There contemporary brand section always has really good pieces for of course great prices. Customer service is decent I personally have never had a problem. The store is clean and organized. The shoe section is more miss than hit for me. I find better shoes for my taste at other locations. read more

When I stopped into this TJ Maxx, I had a fancy-pants wedding to attend in 2 days. I had an old dress that was okay enough to wear, but I wanted to get something different - something more current and nice. I was pleasantly surprised by this TJ Maxx - they not only had a pretty nice selection, but some great brands in the mix too. I found a dress that I loved, and found some other pieces that would be great for work too. I'll be stopping by more often! read more

Although when I have wandered in there recently I have wondered what crack there smoking to try to sell "brand name irregular" handbags at Macy's prices. It gets the job done. I come here mainly for its location. I can grab a snack at Panera, finish my shopping list across the street at Walmart or have dinner at Bonefish. I mainly love the location, it's a nice excuse to be in Kingstowne. It's not the best T.J. Maxx for the Maxxonista Fashionista, but it serves its purpose. It could use a face lift, but I still love to shop there whenever I'm back to my old stomping ground. read more

I think this is a pretty standard tjmaxx. The employees are nice and they sell everything I would expect to see at any given tjmaxx. My only complaint is that it isn't nearly as tidy as some that I've been to. That definitely doesn't keep me from shopping there though it's close to my house and ive found lots of gifts for people, honestly this is the perfect store to shop at with a low budget. read more

I have to say I am a TJMaxx junkie. Whenever I need a new item of clothing, I go to TJMaxx first. I don't always find something there clothes wise, but I have many items from there. Sometimes TJMaxx can be overwhelming. If you want to browse the whole female section, it's like, "do I really need to look through all of this?" It can be annoying thinking that that one gem item could be hidden somewhere in there and you might miss it. That's why it helps to have an organized store. The clothing section, for the most part, isn't too bad. I also think they do a good job of keep the side racks only stocked with the outfits that should be there. The main reason I'm giving them a 4 at this location is the staff. They're friendly and seem like they want you to be there. I hate it when you're at a clothes store and a staff member is putting away clothes, almost pushing you out of the way to put something back. That hasn't happened here and the staff like to chat to you when you check out like they're excited about what you found. Good job guys! read more

A few days ago, I was running errands at several stores in the Burke, Springfield and Kingstowne area. When I was about to pay for an item at the Kingstowne TJ Maxx, I realized that my credit cards and driver's license were missing from my purse. My cash and other items were still there. I went back to the fitting room and didn't find anything. I asked one of the cashiers but nothing had been found. After that, I went to the police station to make a statement and then returned home to contact the credit card companies. As you can imagine, I was very upset. The next day, I got a call from somebody at TJ Maxx who told me that he had found my credit cards and driver's license in the store. I drove to the store to pick up my cards and talked to the manager who explained that an employee had found my cards while sweeping the floor of the store. I was so impressed by the honesty of the staff. Bravo! read more

Horrible management. I came to purchase clothes and jewelry, for the third time this week. When I arrived at checkout, my card wasn't enough to cover the payment, so I was going to pay the rest in cash. Even so, I didn't have enough cash to cover the rest. So I wanted to take away a few unimportant items from the purchase. Which is a normal thing that any shopping center can do, such as Ross, Walmart, and Giant. The cashier told me that instead of taking off just a couple items, she'd have to take everything off and redo the whole purchase. My card had already been charged from the first time, and then she asked me to pay again. So then of course my card didn't go through because of the first try, and they had charged it already so there was no money left on the card for a second try. So that means I literally cannot buy anything. I cannot use the 100$ from before because TJ Maxx is taking my money and isn't returning it for 3 days. Then they told me to blame my bank! I didn't even buy anything and yet they have my 100$ and is making me wait 3 days to use my money. Some other cashier included herself, when not needed, and told me that it's normal for a return process to take 3 days. I wasn't there to return anything, I came there to purchase things. I asked to speak to the manager who argued with me for 15 minuets about how there is nothing they can do. Of course they can do something, they just didn't want to. I spent lots of time there and wanted to buy clothes, but they're still taking my money when I could use it for other stores. The manager, Joseph, told me the store opens at 8:00 so I can come back and pay for the clothes with a check, and that he's be there at 9:00 I then checked on the online website and it said 9:30. I come home totally shocked and disappointed. I lost money, didn't get what I came for, and felt humiliated in the store. Joseph made it seem like my fault because I didn't know the total of the purchase because it doesn't show on the screen. He told me I should have added it all together myself, as if I knew they wouldn't tell me the price at the counter. Does that sound like good customer service? Feeling as if someone stole my money. It doesn't seem as important to them as it does to me. They treated it like it wasn't a big issue. I need to used stuff that I planned to buy. The manager lied about the hours that they open 8 am. next days so I can come to get the stuff that I pick in the morning, which the schedule open at 9:30. I'm not stupid to go at 8 am. and waiting 1.5 hours for them to open so they can playing games with me. I just can't believe how they doing business like this. Then I realize, why I have to come back and spend 200$ next day or more in the future, to supporting service that they can do ugly service to me. No way, I'm not coming back. And feel regret that I just bring my friends to shopping there 2 days earlier. read more

We purchased a kid's Canada Goose winter jacket in December in preparation for our ski trip tomorrow. My son hardly used it at all during the past two months since he preferred using his old one and it hasn't really been cold. Three days ago, we noticed that the zipper came completely off and two of the buttons were also missing. We contacted Canada Goose directly thinking that it might be a manufacturing defect. It turned out that this jacket is a counterfeit. No wonder it was so cheap! I knew it was too good to be true. Tj Maxx sells counterfeit products. It's been two months so naturally, we threw away our receipt (although a lot of the other stores have been able to track past purchases without the receipt simply by asking for our credit card that was used for the transaction); nevertheless, we brought it back to Tj Maxx and asked either for a replacement, store credit or cash back - whichever was more applicable. First off, the guy at the register was not only clueless, but also not very helpful at all. Second, he completely denied that they sell counterfeit items in spite of having proof from the brand itself that it is indeed counterfeit. And third, I can't stress it enough how much service at this store is so bad. I've always been met by rude employees. I just wish Tj Maxx would simply admit that they sell counterfeit - I mean, obviously, they do with how cheap the prices are - but admitting to it would mean that I would expect a product to be of lesser quality and fall apart sooner than the original. read more

What a joke this manager is. I have spent untold thousands of dollars in this store and went today for my THIRD trip this weekend. At the end of my $400 pile I had a Ralph Lauren fleece throw that was missing the price. I told them the price that had been on it. After waiting 45 minutes, they couldn't find another and told me they were going to charge me twice what I told them and twice any other similar throw in the store cost. I told them that was overpriced and inaccurate. They continued to argue with me and got snippy. I bought the throw because I really thought my son would like it, but I expressed my dismay that I had waited that long and felt ripped off. More snappiness back. In getting my bags from my cart, I found the original tag from the throw -- exactly what I told them the price was and HALF of what they charged me. Manager said too bad, they had done their best. Not good enough for me. I'll take my business elsewhere that values its customers. read more
