My nephew is a park connoisseur and hates 99% of the toddler sections even though he is only 3. But Strangs kept him busy for a large chunk of time. The park is equipped with Adirondack chairs strategically placed in shady areas and misters for the warmer days. It has real bathrooms, and a fence as well. It's a great park for families with multiples of singles because the place is constantly packed. We enjoyed it a lot.

My husband and I brought our six-year-old granddaughter and two year-old grandson to play. I did not see a newer place set based on the address we went to. It was an older ship designed playset. A small playset and it was quite busy so it was crowded. The place that is for age 2 to 5. The nice thing about it is that it was completely shaded, so that was a positive. But the place that itself was older and dirty and needed to be cleaned or repainted. There was a walking park around the playset, but I never saw a newer playset like pictured in the main photo for the park. There is also a small softball field and some covered picnic tables.

Plus, the historic Waldo water tower is located on the northern edge. It is on the National Register of Historic Places, and is a well-known symbol for the neighborhood. We mainly utilize the playground. The kids love it! There are two primary structures, one being for small toddlers, and the other for bigger kids. I'm not thrilled with the fact that there is a large sand pit (man, kids love sand, but I do not unless it is on a beach.) Within the sand is a metal car that children can climb on. The baby swings are also there. There is a separate area for regular swings. In addition to the variety of equipment, there is seating available (bench, picnic table) and parking close by. There are also some trees that shade parts of the playground. On the weekends, especially in the nicer months, the picnic shelters are usually occupied. The playground also tends to get really crowded, and not as many parents are hanging out like on the weekdays. The majority of folks we have played with at the playground have been really mellow, open to talking/playing, and quite nice. This is not always the case at playgrounds, so it is a nice change of pace from snobbery. We've had a couple slightly negative experiences, but nothing that would keep us from going back.

They played in the large play area that has a toddler section all the way to older climbing playgrounds, including swings and a zip line. This is a very nice park with an excellent walking trail and photo opportunities with a big circular sunflower. There is another smaller parking area of the street where you can park and use exercise equipment that they have installed. They also have electric charging stations for electric vehicle vehicles in the parking section. There are bathrooms as well. There is a sign detailing the park and areas to go. I believe there is another place section near a coffee shop/hotel that is nearby. We could have driven to that area, but we remained in the area we were currently at. Most of this park is in sun except the exercise area. I believe that was in shade.

There's no dedicated parking lot, but plenty of street parking. They have swings (2 baby ones, 2 normal ones, and two round tire type swings). There is a glaring omission though -- a restroom of any kind. This means the average trip here is massively cut short by at least one person needing to head home to go. As my seven year old becomes more adventurous, it's fun to see her scurry around the nets, hanging upside down (even if she fell a few times), and bouncing all over the big slide with other kids. My youngest loves the Astroturf "slides" and there are also some other traditional slides. There are also attached ropes that are unique to this park so they can explore climbing in a fun way. One knock is there's a concrete slide that simply does fit in with the laws of physics. This thing goes straight down and lands onto another concrete slab. Against my best judgement, I did this with my youngest and let's just say my..backside.. is still feeling that one. But yeah, really wish there was a restroom, even a portable one, as it's a big drawback to the park to not have it. Kinda fun though, and I imagine it's ideal if you live within an easy walk of it. It took me a minute to find it as apple maps doesn't have the most accurate pin point for this spot, BUT once we found it we had a great time. The park itself is on the smaller side of things but with that it was less busy, and both of our four year olds had a blast exploring and sliding down the big slide. The main reason it gets 4/5 is that as others have noted there are no restrooms. I get that it's more of a neighborhood park, so perhaps this is by design, but it does limit our time here and we inevitably had to depart for a restroom. Will we be back? Perhaps if we are in the area, but only if we are on an empty bladder.
