I've been to this park once before in the past, but I forgot to review it. I brought two of my grandchildren back today. I parked in the main parking area. They played in the large play area that has a toddler section all the way to older climbing playgrounds, including swings and a zip line. This is a very nice park with an excellent walking trail and photo opportunities with a big circular sunflower. There is another smaller parking area of the street where you can park and use exercise equipment that they have installed. They also have electric charging stations for electric vehicle vehicles in the parking section. There are bathrooms as well. There is a sign detailing the park and areas to go. I believe there is another place section near a coffee shop/hotel that is nearby. We could have driven to that area, but we remained in the area we were currently at. Most of this park is in sun except the exercise area. I believe that was in shade. read more

This park is amazing! There are several different playgrounds around the park- the toddler one on the east side is fenced in which is so nice for littles! There are also pickleball courts! You can grab some food/ drinks at the Market for a little picnic! 10/10 would recommend checking out this park! read more

Great neighborhood park for families. There are a couple of kids play area with great outdoor equipment. Plenty of green area to run around. A shelter to gather with friends and families. Great artwork that is lite up at night. Walking trails around the perimeter of the park. Pickleball courts on one end of the park that is always full and occupied till dark. Man-made pond in near walking trail with great view of luxury homes. Restaurants, hotel and luxury apartments near by. This is my ideal place to go for walks. read more

Beautiful park that is so well maintained. It is very busy from sun up to sun down. We love to walk the 2 mile loop.

An amazing park for toddler age children. 2 misters , rockers and completly fensed in. The only thing missing are some swings. But the love it. Did I mention they have shaded benches and tables. read more

Meadowbrook Park is a great example of what urban planning done right looks like. Aside from truly an incredible playground built for both toddlers and older children, this park boasts several clean and spacious shelters for private events, a massive walking path, beautiful landscaping, and adjacent restaurants that aren't just hot dog stands, but rather full scale places to have a real meal at. One of the most unique features of this park, in my opinion, is the addition of this massive hill. Now, you might not think much of this but it's not only impressive to just look at but it's so fun for kids. You can climb up it and the kids can roll down, stand in awe at how high up they climbed, or have races to the top and bottom. It might seem silly, but what a fun thing to add that I really haven't seen anywhere else. Last time I was here I also noticed what looked like another new playground that may have been added on the opposite end of the park. We made a mental note to walk that way next time and check it out. Overall 10/10 would recommend. This park is incredible. read more

Sweet new park and green space that the area and neighborhood really needed. As I write this, it's still putting off those new construction vibes, and isn't fully finished, but it's certainly getting there. What I love about it is that they could've plopped in strip malls or continued with exclusive country club vibes, but instead they turned the land back into a recreational space for everyone. It's all very man-made, and not like being in the woods like the nature trails of Swope Park or Shawnee Mission Park. You've got paved path trails winding around the perimeter, a man-made sledding hill, bridges, a few different playground areas, living spaces, and restaurants (The Market, Verbena). We've been staying near it this week and took our kiddo to the big playground which is closest to the 91st & Nall side. Bring the Tylenol for this one, folks. It's crazy busy, kids flying around, screaming, highs and lows.. It's an event. I'd go earlier to have easier access there. There's another playground area up by the restaurants, and it's fun and more calm. There's sandboxes, chimes, and things to climb on. Overall, it's a neat idea and one that I'm so happy to see Johnson County pull off. My wife said it's a bit like a JoCo version of Loose Park, and I think that's pretty spot on. Get outside and enjoy it! read more

Meadowbrook Park - Expansive park - Parks Near Me - Overland Park, Kansas

A great place to walk, with multiple paved trails, my favorite being the one-mile loop around all 3 segments of the large pond. There are also bikes to use with the Drop app. Perhaps best of all, there's a nice public restroom facility near the trails. If you're hungry after walking, try the Verbena Restaurant or The Market, a café and gift shop inside the attached Meadowbrook Inn. The café menu offers delicious daily soups, a variety of sandwiches and other items, lots of sweet treats, and wine! Eat inside or on their patio, same as at the more upscale/pricey Verbena Restaurant with bar. The Market gift shop has unique cookbooks and other items that would make any foodie happy, and more NOT run-of-the-mill gifts, including luxury personal care items. I could easily shop here for almost anyone on my list, and you don't have to be eating there or staying at the Inn. The park has other walking trails, play areas for children (and/or young-at-heart adults) that Include an outdoor drum and xylophone! There are also lighted picnic shelters. read more

It might seem silly to write a 5-star review on a park but this quickly became one of my favorite parks not just in KC but that I've ever been to. The trail all over is perfect for walking or running when it's nice out. There are several places for children to play as well as awesome areas to have picnics or enjoy time with your family. Ever since this park opened, I come here regularly when the weather allows. I am so jealous of the people that live within walking distance. This place is great! read more

This is our new favorite park for outdoor adventures now that it's warm! With a wide variety of play structures, Meadowbrook Park has playground toys for toddlers thru teenagers. The playground tends to get very, very busy around 10 AM, but if you arrive earlier than that, you can enjoy some time before the masses of older kids show up. There a huge areas to have a picnic and plenty of pavilions for gathering. There are even multiple, clean bathrooms. We love how spread out this park is and enjoy going early in the morning. read more

Just the love the whole vibe of this place. Gorgeous walking trails, plenty of open space, several lakes, an expansive kid's playground area, lots of benches dotted around, dozens of sheltered picnic tables. Plus there's a hotel connected to a cool market and restaurant, and it also boasts apartments, townhomes, & single family homes- which are still in the process of being built. Meadowbrook is like a little town within a town. It reminds me a lot of the newer parts of Vail/Lionshead, Colorado. Alas no mountains, though. read more

Y'all, we don't have parks like this in AZ. WOW, this was seriously one of the coolest community parks that we've ever been to! They had crazy climbing contraptions, a zipline, various types of swings, slides of all sizes, and literally activities for all ages. There were middle school kiddos having a blast here! I was also impressed with the bathroom facilities, grills/tables, etc. It is absolutely gorgeous and we'll definitely be returning here with our kiddos on our next visit to Kansas City! This place always looks awesome, but everytime I drive by it I feel like I need to have gone to a better school just to park in the parking lot. Honestly, I feel like unless you have a law degree, please move along. It's definitely approachable, and certainly all inclusionary, so don't let my tomfoolery disuade you from kicking some rocks around the upper class kids and their fancy treehouse. You're an American too, damn it. You deserve it. I watched it being built for months and months, and when it appeared one day, I was floored. It's only a few years old, and surrounded by pretty serious looking buildings. It almost seems like it's a daycare center for Apple headquarters, but I assure you, it's not. The one bad thing I can say is, it's ALWAYS packed. Kids on kids on kids. But maybe that's a good thing? I don't know. Nice design though. read more

Meadowbrook is my new favorite park. Miles long trail, giant playground, dog-friendly, lake views, beautiful homes, pickle ball courts - need I say more? My husband and I load up our baby in the stroller and walk here on the weekends and always have a great time. The park itself is beautiful and I am so glad that we now have this sprawling green space so close to our home. The walking trail goes all the way down to 95th street and around back to Somerset and Nall. To walk the whole way around takes a good 30 minutes. There are jungle gyms located around the trail as well as the huge playground by the entrance. This is a great place to bring the kiddos and there is plenty of room to run around. I can't wait to see the finished product when the homes are finished and the Inn is complete. read more

Playground is now open and it's amazing!! Busy, but so much fun. Lots of stuff for kids of all ages. Come early in the morning to avoid the blazing summer sun. Not much shade around big playground. Smaller playground on other side of the park has more shade. read more
