BUT this Yelp gps took us to what I thought was another park... and I was so confused. We parked and walked down the long, curvy sidewalk, and saw many kids playing. The playground looked different. More generic but still nice. And a cool cliff w big rocks that kids could play on-- a staircase running through. But I was still confused where the playground went that I saw in the pics... AND THEN... I asked a local there and they told me it's still the same park but a separate, cooler playground, about a 15 second drive/ 8-10 min walk down the brick road, on the other side of the park. Awesome!!! It's a big place! So we went back to the car, drove around the corner like he taught us (down the road from the community center and turn right, then you'll see it). Also the community center was open (winter kids camp was going), and let us all use the bathroom. Yay! We pulled up and saw the great looking climbing structure, big wide metal slides, zip line sitting rope, other slides. And many people out. We enjoyed sitting on the benches in the beautiful 60* sun, as my son had a blast and made quick friends! We stayed an hour, chatted w locals, appreciated the beautiful rock Cliff structures all around and beautiful old houses. We loved this park!! A gem in a city!!

It also has a small section by the walking loop with 4 or 5 exercise machines to use. The playground is more suited for kids 3 and up. One of the slides that is twisty ended up hurting the 6 year old's hip sliding down it because the way it is made. There are on site restrooms but the city workers were De-winterizing them at the time.

We stopped at a group of people watching a beaver resting on the spillway. A couple of nice picnic pavilions and (remarkably) clean restrooms have shaded playgrounds for kids. The real treat is a professional-grade Disc Golf course. For the less adventurous or for practice is a second, small course. All in all, a gem of a Lenexa park!

I appreciate it that the play areas we went to had partial shade from the alcove of trees. There was a variety of play sets spread out with natural features of tree stumps and such for the kids to climb on. They had a lot of nice walking plaques to explain the walking trail. The golfing disc course was nice because a lot ofit was shaded. We will definitely go back to check out more of it when it is less hot.

Located at 155th and Chestnut in Bonner Springs, it features: walking trails, Picnic tables, two clean bathrooms, a large playground with a fun scavenger hunt activity, and drinking fountains. There is also convenient parking with easy access. The park is clean, well-maintained, and perfect for families, walkers, or anyone looking to enjoy the outdoors. I believe there was also sporting fields that I wasn't paying that close of attention to it since my primary reason for going was the playground. The playground had toddler all the way to older kids play equipment. It was all newer and well-maintained and soft under footing material. The two-year-old grandchild enjoyed it and my six-year-old grandchild also enjoyed it. There was a sitting area that had a cover over it for shade. Most of the play area is in the sun, but the day that we went it was often on cloudy and windy so it was tolerable. It was not busy for a summer day. But around 4 PM two summer camps showed up so everyone left because that would've been a lot of kids on the playground.

A little PSA: the walking trail goes right by a small fishing pond and we just paid $1,200 to pull a fishing hook out of our dog's intenstines. Be super careful with your animals near there. Below you'll see photos of the pond. Notice that the nearest trash can is actually in a picnic shelter up the hill. There really should be a place to dispose of fishing line near the sign postings so that this has a lower chance of dropping on the trail and letting animals eat it.

This is a great neighborhood park. You could stop there but I'll add that especially if you have kids between the ages of 1-7 it'll be a hit. For my 15 month old this was a great park. The little houses to explore and toddler friendly climbing area was amazing. My almost 6 year old was getting close to being too big for the bigger park equipment but still had a blast with her friend. To top it all off they have a parking lot and a clean restroom. I'm sure we will be back!

It's a pretty nondescript park along the Indian Creek Trail, but it has some really great things going for it, including a solid playground, tons of shade (which is great during this weird hot October we've been having), and room for kids to run around. The other nice thing about it is that it's sort of basic and underrated, giving it a neighborhood park feel. Because of that it was pretty empty when we stopped by giving our kids plenty of space to run and explore. 4/5 stars because there are no public restrooms here so your play time might be limited.
