TERRIBLE venue management under the guise of a beautiful space…read more In short, three months after signing with The Barn at Holly Farm we were told management would rather start a year of self-initiated renovations than honor their contract with us. Their decision not only affected us, but at least nine other couples who had booked weddings there too. For my fiancé and me, this left us with less than 7 months before the wedding date to find a new venue and re-plan our entire event. It took over a month for us to find a new space that could accommodate our wedding size indoors. To receive a full refund, we were expected to sign a document that stated we wouldn't make any comments which "may, directly or indirectly, disparage" The Barn at Holly Farm (obviously we did not accept those terms). It then took over a month to receive the funds for The Barn's breach of contract. I hope no other couple has to experience The Barn at Holly Farm's mismanagement and the nightmare experience they caused at least 10 couples in 2021!

We worked with Karmel as well as a flower vendor (Dirty Girl) and photographers (GSquared) whom Karmel recommended. Part of the reason we were drawn to this venue is because of the good works that they do with equine therapy and rescued farm animals. Our experience with the Barn was fantastic. We really hit it off with Karmel and she made planning the wedding fun and low stress. The vendors she recommended also did a great job and at the end of the day, are just good people. I feel like they all connected with us on a personal level. One fun perk this venue offered is for a small fee someone from the Barn takes guests out to meet some of the animals (chickens, goats, llamas, etc.) during the social hour before the reception. This was a lovely and charming way to start the celebration. I think that what we paid was fair for the service we received. The only snafu at the very end was having to pack our own stuff even though we paid extra for the clean-up service, but it was mostly just our personal belongings and it wasn't a big deal. There's always a little wedding drama - in this case our own guests, and the way that Karmel and vendors went about handling it to reduce the stress on us was beautifully done. They were respectful and discreet and we were incredibly grateful for their support. The space itself on the day of the wedding was absolutely stunning and everything was set up exactly as we had planned. It was a truly magical day and I'm so glad we chose the Barn to get married. I'd do it all over again. :)

Other vendors were not allowed early access to the hall as agreed, which caused cascading delays across the entire program. Additionally, the hall was not fully cleaned--trash from the previous event was still present when we entered. The décor (done by French Creek Manor) was also not up to standard, and there were multiple issues throughout the event. When these concerns were raised, the owner refused to acknowledge that the problems were due to mismanagement. There was no accountability or effort to resolve the situation. I strongly recommend against hosting your event at this property.

Recently attended a baby shower event at the venue. They have beautiful indoor and outdoor space…read morefor occasions like baby shower, weddings, etc. Due to Seattle rains, we had the event indoor, where they provided decorations, catering and servers, dressing room in the basement for the hosts to get ready. It was super convenient for friends who already have a kid and dog and are expecting their second one. The arrangements were good, but I would say little expensive for my liking. The starters were good but the we found the main course to be decent. They have a center stage that they can decorate as per your liking, bring out a screen if you want to play something, and overall made sure guests enjoyed the event.

We were vendors at the Washington Midsummer Renaissance Faire and needed somewhere to stay for about five weeks. Grayson B&B was by far the most affordable option we found compared with other nearby accommodations, so we decided to give it a try--and I'm really glad we did. One of the best parts of our stay was getting to know Miriam, the owner, and her family. Miriam is genuinely kind, very accommodating, and a great listener. I really enjoyed our conversations and getting to know her over the five weeks we were there. As a newer business owner, I especially appreciated the wisdom and advice she shared with me. I learned a lot just from talking with her about life and business. She was also genuinely happy for us whenever we had a successful weekend at the faire, which made our stay feel much more personal. It was nice coming back and having someone who actually cared about how things were going for us. We also really enjoyed meeting all of the animals on the property. Miriam raises chickens and has ducks, rabbits, cats, and dogs as well. She invited my daughter to come meet the chickens and ducks, and we also got to pet the rabbits, which my daughter really enjoyed. It was such a fun and charming part of the stay and made the property feel even more special. It's definitely not the kind of experience you would get at a typical hotel. Another thing I absolutely loved was Miriam's organic garden. She generously told us that we were welcome to pick anything we wanted from the garden at any time during our stay. We ended up picking some sugar snap peas, and they were so delicious! That was such a thoughtful and unique perk and another example of how welcoming she was with her home and property. The property itself is really special. The house is huge and has so much character, and the grounds, garden, and animals make it a fun place to spend time. You can tell Miriam has put a tremendous amount of care into the property. Because I booked our stay somewhat last minute, there wasn't one room available for our entire five-week stay, so we did have to switch rooms once based on the availability she had. Miriam was extremely accommodating and worked with us to make it possible for us to stay there for the full period. The move was easy, and we were comfortable in both rooms. The beds were very comfortable, and someone came in to clean our room every Wednesday. Each guest room also gets designated shelf space in the refrigerator, which was especially helpful for such a long stay. Saturday brunch was another really nice part of the experience. Miriam is a great cook and was accommodating of our dietary needs. Having brunch included every Saturday was something we really appreciated and looked forward to. The main thing to keep in mind is that this is a shared-space B&B, so the bathroom and common areas are shared with other guests. If you're comfortable with a shared living environment, I think Grayson B&B offers incredible value, particularly for an extended stay. Overall, our five weeks at Grayson B&B were a genuinely fun and memorable experience. It became our home base while we worked the Renaissance Faire, but it ended up being much more than simply a place to sleep. Getting to know Miriam and her family, talking with her and learning from her, meeting all of the animals, petting the rabbits, picking fresh vegetables from the garden, enjoying her Saturday brunches, and spending time on such a unique property made the experience special. Miriam is a genuinely kind person who made us feel very welcome, and I'm really grateful that we decided to give Grayson B&B a chance.

Please do not go to this place! It is nothing like advertised. The hosts were the rudest I've ever…read moreencountered, and the sheets were absolutely filthy. We were so uncomfortable that we decided not to stay, even though it meant driving 2 hours back home, returning the next day for an event, and driving another 2 hours again. We arrived 30 minutes before check-in because it was our first time in town, and we wanted to ensure everything went smoothly. As soon as I walked in, I honestly thought I was at the wrong place. The owner greeted me with a curt "Can I help you?"--as if she wasn't expecting us. I had to ask if I was in the right place, and she just shrugged. She immediately complained that we were early, asking, "Who are you?" and "Have you paid for the pet fee?"--all in a passive-aggressive tone. She told my husband to park "over there, by the pool," but her directions were so unclear that after asking three times, he parked where he thought she meant--only for her to snap that it was her husband's spot. When we saw our room, we were shocked to learn we had to share a bathroom with another guest--something not mentioned in the listing. Our only private area was a tiny bedroom. On top of that, we were hit with endless rules: We could only let our dog outside when her dogs weren't there, using a confusing "light signal" system. Shoes had to be removed at all times. Our dog's food and water had to stay outside. We had to be mindful of her 2-year-old child. The woman we were sharing the bathroom with was apparently afraid of dogs--why stay in a so-called "pet-friendly" place then? To make matters worse, the property is right next to a busy road with no sidewalk--unsafe and stressful for walking a dog. Finally, the bed was disgusting: the sheets were covered in pet hair, and we even found an ear pain medicine packet under the covers--proof they hadn't been washed. That was the last straw. We packed up and left. When I told the owner we weren't staying, she coldly replied, "OK, cool!" When I mentioned the dirty sheets, she just repeated that it was "weird" because they pay someone to clean, without apologizing or offering to change them. I also told her she should disclose the shared bathroom, and she dismissed me with, "That's a B&B thing"--which is false. After reading reviews, I noticed she often claims not to "recognize" guests who leave bad reviews but has no trouble remembering all the 5-star reviewers. Honestly, I don't know how this place gets any good ratings. Believe me--do NOT stay here.

My now husband and I could not say no to a venue that was 1) beautiful 2) great price 3) had a closet full of decor we could use and 4) responsive owners that answered any questions that came their way. The decor planning was relatively easy since we used pieces from the closet for our entrance and reception tables. Most folks said I didn't look stressed throughout the process, and I believe most of that stemmed from Gray Bridge making it incredibly simple for us to use their items. We just had to take care of personal pieces, such as the entrance sign or guestbook. The only downside to this place is the drive, which is roughly an hour away from Seattle (or 1.5X during traffic time). We overcame that by starting our ceremony earlier than usual (330PM) so we could have our guests enjoy the venue for roughly 7.5-8 hours. Another perk to this venue is they allow any vendors onsite. We weren't stuck with having to buy X cases of wines at wineries or sticking with food caterers that were not on par to the quality we were looking for. Overall, I highly recommend you checking out this place and booking ASAP since their dates fill up well a year in advance.

To start with, the venue is absolutely gorgeous (our wedding was in June). We wanted a beautiful PNW backdrop to show our out of state guests and that is definitely what we got - everyone complimented us on it later! Gray Bridge is set up in a thoughtful layout that makes wedding days flow smoothly while also providing smaller, intimate moments for photos, games, mingling, etc. Additionally, Stacy and Matt go above and beyond to make sure everything is on track and the venue is set up to each couple's specific wedding day vision. It took so much of the uncertainty out of wedding planning to know that we were in such good hands and that Stacy and Matt had great relationships with our vendors, which really goes a long way. Finally, all the decor available to borrow definitely kept costs (and stress) down! We definitely hope to be back here as guests someday :)

They searched and searched for a place that matched their vibe and their pocketbook. And even though Sadie Lake was almost two hours from their home, it proved to be the perfect choice (well, except for the local dinosaur infestation). From Day 1, they' were in love with DeeDee. She offered lots of items for free that couples usually have to pay to rent or buy. Everything was all listed on her website so even those of us in other states could peruse. The location is so beautiful and the premises really felt quaint and homey, not formal and stuffy like some venues. And then there were things that no other venue offered, like the boat on the lake for some fantastic photos! I think the bonus was that it was probably the least expensive place they looked at. Deedee's not in it to make bank; she does it because she has a beautiful place that she wants others to enjoy on their special day. As the mother-of-the-bride, I'm not surprised that I thought it was the second best wedding I've been to (don't I have to pick my own as #1), but soooo many guests told me they felt the same way. I can't imagine a reason why you wouldn't pick this location!!

There is a pedestrian bridge if you are in really good shape to walk to downtown but it would be about a mile and a half. A local told me no homeless are allowed at the waterfront so that's cool. There is also a municipal golf course a couple miles away.

It truly felt like they were guiding us through the planning, not just hosting the event. The venue itself is stunning. If you've browsed their website, you already know how beautiful it is--but seeing it in person is something else. One of our aunts came over to our sweetheart table during dinner just to rave about the meal--the London Broil was perfectly tender, and the salmon was flavorful (and most importantly, not dry). They even made sure our vegetarian guests were well taken care of, which we deeply appreciated. The grass is beautifully green and the outdoor ceremony location has a beautiful spot over look g the lake on property and an arbor you just need to decorate. The building has a very well maintained and sexy masculine grooms room. With a. At broom on that side to keep him away from the bride. The brides room is bright and elegant with gigantic mirrors & great lighting for the ladies to get their hair and make up done. The reception are has several cozy "loungey" areas for you to sit and chat. One has a fireplace too. The bar is ample and nice but also not in your face so it doesn't take away from the venue or decor. They have chandeliers and twinkle lights already available and beautiful white drapery that makes this venue both magical and elegant at the same time. The indoor ceremony location is very nice. One of the benefits of this being ur is it can accommodate a large even. We expected 300. So when you enter the space you have beautiful pillars available to you, gold chevalier chairs lining the ceremony hall and a beautiful walk way to the stage. We rented and added the white drapes for the big reveal of the bride entering and it just made the space dreamy. The windows allow for a nice view of the outdoor grounds. The one caveat: make note of the sunset time and where the sun will be at the time of your ceremony. It was back lit so very difficult to see the bride, groom, wedding party and their faces as they were silhouetted. That was one big negative. We didn't know so we're t able to rent lighting or prep our photographer to prepare. Still waiting on pics, so hopeful that she was still able to shoot well given the challenging lighting situation. We did chose to have an indoor wedding ceremony because may is generally cold and wet. Who knew we had the most beautiful weather. The other nice thing is the venue does have audio equipment for both ceremony and reception hall. Food: with a large wedding event we went with their pasta bar. This is not basic. The chef honestly prepares a very flavorful well presented pasta bar. I am a total foodie and was expecting basic at the food tasting but it was far from that. In fact the food rating made us feel so special. The team at LHF do not leave any details out so you feel like you're popping in on someone's event. Everything from appetizers to dessert and wine. One miss is we had many gluten free guests and the team forgot to put a sign out for GF guests to request their plate so there was some confusion for many of those guests. So that was a call out I made note for the venue. It would have minimized confusion and hurt feelings. The reception hall: round and rectangular tables are available. They'll help work a nice floor plan for you. There is plenty of great lighting. A nice set up for dessert, coffee and tea, bar, DJ and areas for Photo Booth etc. we used round tables. Which also have the hood chavalier seats. When we arrived for set up, all our tables were ready for us to set up. They had white linens and silverware in pace. We opted to bring our own napkins, runners and did our own decor and it was beautiful! One note: they've change policies on lot candle/tapers, even if they are dripless. Unfortunately, we didn't find out until the day of. Which means I now have several hundred new and very expensive dripless candles I can't send back. So get yourself battery operated or candles that are IN. Container that covers the tip of the candle. I understand why, and tracy was kind enough to explain what had happened a couple weeks earlier. Unfortunately it's one bad experience that messes it up for the others. So keep that in mind if you want actual kit candles hey a full container for each one so you can have the candle lit vibe. Staff. In General the staff was very attentive, helpful and friendly. We had a couple little hiccups w a couple of their younger staff. But hole it up to youth and new work experience. Tracy and team were very receptive to the feedback. Pricing. Very reasonable for a full service. A venue that runs you 6k is not apples to apples. Be careful as you compare what you get.
