    Exterior - about 14 rooms
    Luz V.

I stayed two nights here due to last minute work. The bldg is from the 60s but the rooms have been remodeled inside. There are about 14-15 rooms. My room was very clean and organized. The nights were quiet no rowdy people. Parking infront of rooms. The Korean pretty lady who runs the place is friendly and a hard worker. She keeps the place well maintained.

Here is a pretty awesome motel than I expected! There is a Clean bathroom and room. First of all, there is super quiet and fresh air. I recommend it here if you are looking for a motel in concrete, like the clean hotel. And I love the owners who operate and manage this motel. They are really kind and lovely. They check what I need frequently. So, the basic shampoos, conditioners, and body washers never run out while staying in that room. And this motel was remodeled and redecorated recently. That's why I recommend you guys use this motel. It was a special time while staying here. Thanks for their good service. Thanks, Kate and John! I'll stop by there if I plan another travel to that place again.

We stayed in the eagle room with its own bathroom and we probably could've done with the bathroom down the hall situation. Good fan to run at night. Overall satisfied. One thing to mention is that the walls are thin so you can hear loud talking or someone blowing their nose. But we live in an apartment so this didn't bother us! Cheers!

As a family of four, each room sleeps two people so we needed to spend $250 per night for two people in order to be here. This is not a $500+ per night place. Yet here we are. There is one bathroom shared between six rooms upstairs and no sign asking people to be polite and limit the time is in the bathroom. 9 o'clock at night someone's in the bathroom for 45 minutes and get ready for bed. That's a long time for everyone else to wait No one is here to check you in and I won't tell you where the keys are stored because I don't want the safety of the poor guests who stay here next. I hit my leg and toes on the foot of the bed three times and I had to move the chair and so I stopped hitting my foot. However it happened again. AC in the common room, but only fans in the bedroom room upstairs. The room is boiling hot. Update/ open windows to cook the room at night. There's no other way. Then spend all night being to hot/ to cold. Better than hot all night like kids who slept worse. We were room 15. The headboard less room of bruised toes and feet There is a secret 2nd unlabeled bathroom upstairs. Seriously how hard it is to put a sign up? There are so many signs about towels. I'm tempted to write it on the door but I don't have a pen.

It's almost a parody of itself. Paper-thin walls and ill-fitting doors brought the outdoors in, highway noise "and all." The mini-fridge was warm. There was no coffee, and the plastic disposable cups tasted like the bar soap they sat next to. The clock was off by many hours, if it worked at all. There was a certain random artistry to the generous white paint splotches on the wood-stained trim and doorknobs. The broad collection of artwork was absolutely resistible, especially the eagle prints in our room that were $100 each or $375 for the trio. Yep, $75 more for the set than to buy each print separately. When we asked to use a bottle opener, we were pointed to purchase an unbelievably tacky Indian beaded one for $15. We decided it was cheaper to head down the road and buy something that didn't require an opener. It was. Warm, relatively clean room on a cold day with a comfortable bed, a tv and a mish-mash of well beyond slightly used tasteless 60s furniture... worth $55+tax? Not sure. For being a good sport able to giggle (a lot) at this place, hubby said he owes me one. I plan to take him up on it!

Ahh, Whispering Firs. A tale of two sides, if there ever was one. My wife and I stayed here…read morerecently and had some very good experiences and thoughts...but also had some very negative things as well. We had originally booked two nights, but because of the negatives we ended up staying just the first night and checked-out early. Here's the tale of the tape: The Good: - Linda and Vic (the innkeepers) are very nice. Extremely friendly and easy to talk to, Linda made us feel at home straightaway and was great company and conversation during breakfast. - Speaking of, the food was really good. We had blueberry cream cheese pancakes, bacon, and scrambled eggs for breakfast. Along side juice, fruit, and coffee/tea. Linda was also very accommodating toward dietary concerns too. - The property and view is gorgeous! Located up on a mountain area, Whispering Firs overlooks the valley and you can even see the Sound and Whidbey Island. - The house itself is warm, comfortable, and inviting. There's a beautiful deck on the backside that it multi-tiered and has a walking path around little ponds. This would be great for entertaining and lounging. The Bad: - To get there, you have to drive up a half-mile gravel road that is full of potholes and bumps. It's narrow and not something that a regular car can navigate quickly. Wish we had a 4x4 vehicle. - The bed in our room (the North Suite) was way too high. It sounds weird to say that, but at roughly 3 feet high, it was a struggle for my 8 month pregnant wife to literally climb in and out of. - There were no curtains on the windows...just blinds that didn't block out all of the light and sight lines. So, there was a big lack of privacy seeing as the windows looked out onto the deck. - This room is located right next to the breakfast room, so it is extremely loud in the mornings. Breakfast is normally served at 8:30, but our morning had a group that wanted to eat at 7:00. That meant at 6:30 things got rolling on the other side of the wall and we heard it all. Neither Good nor Bad, Just Depends on You Point of View: - There is a large collection of stuffed animals (the taxidermy type) throughout the house and bedrooms. A hunter's paradise...so may not be up your alley. All in all, this could be a lovely place to stay; but it just didn't suite us and fit our needs. For someone else, it might be perfect. In this review, I'm simply wanting you to be better informed that I was. Hope it helps.

We enjoyed the proximity to the town and the amazing view of the water from the rooftop deck. The kids enjoyed the freedom to wander around town and look in the shops, and enjoyed the game store. We watched the parade that must have had everyone in town participating! We are not from a small town. This was fun for us. The king-sized bed was comfortable, and we had a room with a soaking tub and a giant shower. The pull-out couch was "ok" according to my son. One thing I will say that was missing was a common area indoors for people to meet up and socialize outside of the restaurant. We have traveled often with these families, and we like to find areas to play cards and spend time together. The food at the restaurant was good. We had a poor experience with one of the rooftop bartenders. He looked like he had been there a long time and really had no interest in answering questions or engaging with the town. His younger companion bartender was friendly and welcoming. Advice: In the evening, it cools down tremendously on the rooftop, so you will need blankets even though there are a couple of fireplaces for ambiance.

However, at that price I need to be blown away. The food was good when we went recently, but absolutely nothing gave me an "OMG" moment. Most disappointing, though, was the wine flight (additional $80). Wines were fine but not exceptional. One pour came with a healthy portion of sediment. I asked the sommelier if it was an unfiltered wine to which she answered yes. However, the scrutiny we gave this wine resulted in a different server bringing a new pour from a newly opened bottle. This had much better clarity and improved flavor. Thank you, but shame on the sommelier. Good enough experience at an exceptional price results in value too low for my dining dollar.
