Who told them to take it off ( they don't even knock ). I informed them to only fill on my request as I was using just for a dryer and because the appliances Center was doing all checks they removed the regulator again before anything was even delivered. They charge you for 100 lbs of gas on a tank not empty that marked 80. they are bullies and con artist. They will not come remove their tank as they would like to keep billing 5 dollars. DO not use this company. nothing but hell from them and the receptionist/ phone lady must be owner nasty as she can be and oh so self righteous. She has the right to tell a homeowner what they should can not do in their home

Wife and I moved into a new home requiring propane for the range, dryer, and fireplace. We're also…read morenew to the area. I called AC Howell on the recommendation of my brother-in-law who has used them for years. AC Howell informed me of the process and the $50 drop off/set up charge upfront. What a previous poster didn't realize is the charge covers the initial setup labor and line pressure test (as an engineer, I can tell you this is absolutely an essential safety check and liability reducing step considering this is a high-pressure system handling a highly combustible gas). AC Howell brought out two technicians, pressure tested the line and found a leak on the old, underground black iron pipe. Not surprising as the iron has been underground for 20 years (black iron tends to rust in damp environments). They then engineered a solution creating a new (safe) hookup. There was an additional $50 charge (explained to me upfront before doing additional work) for this because of the additional time required for the new set up and moving the tank twice. It took them 1/2 a day at a labor rate of $100 total for two people (8 total man-hours) This was very reasonable considering the time required. They got it done! The system works like a champ, is set up looking professional, and they even tested all gas burning equipment in the house. I'm very satisfied with AC Howell and do not understand the critical reviews above as my experience was very different. Yes there was an additional charge. AC Howell explained both charges up front and the reason for the charge. I doubt they went through all the trouble of moving the tank twice (returning to their office a second time for the lift truck) to swindle me out of a measly $50. That's a lot of work/time to take me for (barely) a tank of diesel fuel . Finding a leak in black iron that has been underground for 20+ years is more probable. I recommend AC Howell because of their communication and thoroughness (e.g. safety check) and will continue to utilize their services.

On December 25, 2028, I arrived home to find that the boiler was off, resulting in no heat or hot water. I attempted to ignite the boiler twice, but the indicator light was blinking. After measuring the oil level with a dipstick, I realized there was no oil available to ignite the boiler. I called Wallace Energy around 8:18 PM to request an oil delivery. However, the female representative I spoke with insisted that a technician needed to be sent out to diagnose the issue first. I explained that I had already identified the problem, but she maintained that a technician's diagnosis was necessary before any oil could be delivered. I found her response to be inconsiderate and lacking compassion for my situation. She accused me of breaching the contract if I attempted to add my oil. Given how cold it has been over the past few weeks, it seems that Wallace Energy failed to consider the impact of the weather on their delivery obligations. Instead of addressing the pressing issue of my lack of heat, the representative was more concerned about my pets than the well-being of my family in our freezing home. read more

My lake cabin has an old propane forced heat system in which the furnace had stopped working. Malzahn Gas, my local subsidiary of the Wallace Energy parent co, had sent Julian, a field tech, to assess the situation. Julian was very knowledgeable, informative, reassuring, and professional. Turns out it's not the furnace that needs replacing, but a thermostat ! What a relief! Julian inspected the system, figured out a way to bring it up to date and up to current code, scheduled the work for the first available date and explained everything in detail. Had our oil burner and boiler serviced by Wallace Energy and while I have had my issue with the company based on fuel oil pricing and delivery of quantities that were a gallon or two below the level required for a price break and the outrageous cost they typically charge for fuel oil compared to other providers, I have to say the Technician that did our service, Tony (Tech #:691), was very professional, thorough, left the furnace room cleaner than when he got here. He did an excellent job. I give Tony 5 stars but Wallace Energy wouldn't get higher than a 2 if I was reviewing their pricing and and customer service. read more

I had a really great experience today with Travis (ID 688) today. He was courteous, took time to understand and assess the problem - and took his time to make certain the problem with my heating system (a zone not providing heat) was fully and properly resolved- and that my wife and I were satisfied - and fully understood the costs and the specific work done. I have had less than good experiences with other hearing service companies - whose service contracts are more costly and less comprehensive - and technicians that were inept and upselling. Is not like most Co. today, that you call and got to go through 5 options, scratching your head trying to figure out which option to hit, so you can speak to a human. Ask for Tony 691 as your service technician. Our boiler was making a loud noise, like a cannon at ignition. Tony was here for 2 hours till he found the problem. FYI, When getting your service tune-up make sure that the tech takes off the side panel to vacuum the soot. The techs try to vacuum through the flue. When he opened the side panel, the boiler was caked with soot. Again, ask for Tony 691 only!!!!!! read more

I woke up and had no heat.I called wallace oil and a few hours later techncian Tony 691enter. Right away he knew my furnace motor was bad. He had one in the truck and an hour i had heat. He makes out the invoice and with a smikle e shows me 0 balance. since 1987 its always been Wallace oil. This furnance is still ticking maybe due to Wallace maintenance. The home charger is honestly for the look and convenience. You can easily hook on yourself as long as you have the correct socket. Texting isn't a great thing to work with John. Just get on the phone and tell him what you need. He will be get it done ASAP. I finalize what I need in the morning and got what I need before noon. Looking forward in working with him on my other projects. Beside ev charger, he does all kind of electric work including know my current house. He repaired our cottage electric from a tree falling and everything is label nicely. His truck is pack with all kind of tool and fully stacked. Great neighborhood electrician to be on my contact list.
