the inside of a grocery store

Went in for toothbrushes and found what we needed on the second floor. As we were checking out, a security officer was searching a shopper's bag as suspected for shoplifting. It was very uncomfortable, as the shopper was claiming she was being racially profiled. The security officer stayed professional, calmly explaining what he witnessed and what likely was recorded by the store surveillance.

Unjust Treatment at Walgreens Store #6194 - Seattle, WA On January 2, 2025, Walgreens charged me $120.41 (Transaction ID: #4194518502) on my UHC OTC card, refused to refund the transaction, and forced an additional charge of $63.43 (Transaction ID: #4194583689). I received no products from the initial charge and was left without essential healthcare items. Walgreens has locked my account, making it impossible to access receipts or history. This systemic issue at Store #6194 mirrors complaints from other customers on Google Reviews, revealing a troubling pattern of mismanagement and consumer fraud. I called Walgreens customer support on Friday, January 10, 2025, spoke with Shamekia, and was given Reference #24170902, with a promise someone would call me within 2 business days. It's now been 7 days, and I've received no follow-up. @Walgreens Case #24170902 remains unresolved. Your failure to address this issue is unacceptable. Refund my money and hold Store #6194 accountable! #ConsumerRights #FraudAlert #HoldWalgreensAccountable #Seattle

This Walgreens was out of stock on EVERYTHING. All I wanted was wanted. A basic bottle of water. Other than a good location, this place is a 1 star Walgreens. Everything was out of stock. Snacks, beverages, even napkins.

Walgreens bans testing of people on foot at the walk-up window. This discrimination against low-income, disabled, essential workers, and the many others who use public transportation or go on foot (the responsible way to get a COVID test) is unacceptable. Also, their so-called corporate headquarters phone number, (847) 914-2500, blocks phone calls from cell phones. Outrageous.

The neighborhood has a lot of people that live in it that are using the drugs, not necessarily all homeless. I find it's a great place to go if you want to help somebody. There's usually at least one person outside who will genuinely ask you for food. Not money they want a piece of chicken. As for the store, it's absolutely outstanding. Not only do they have everything down to like garlic herb, even jalapeños, along with every other staple you can imagine. They really have went out of their way to stock as a mini market not as a place to shop daily but as a place come and get whatever you may have forgotten. Or if you need a night's meal. They actually sell some chicken and steaks one and two at a time in case you want to cook dinner for yourself. I've never seen that before. Class move. They make a great Cobb salad and with their ranch. They have a bunch of breakfast stuff along with chicken fried fresh all day. They make the best sandwiches at the most reasonable price. They even do half's. They've got a big old parking lot so pop on in. The staff is friendly and welcoming.

But after I managed (and it wasn't easy) to enter the store, what I saw was a war zone. My first instinct was to leave as soon as possible. Aside from a smiling cashier who was somehow relaxed, there wasn't a single person who remotely had my (or any) level of consciousness and sobriety. I was alone, surrounded by a large crowd of questionable individuals, all moving chaotically and without a goal, yelling at each other and themselves, some of them shoeless, some topless. Need I mention the odor. Leaving the place wasn't easy either, as I had to ask multiple blacked out people to move, and give me some space, which made them angry, as if there was another choice. The absence of security and the police was shocking. 7-11 needs to act asap, and make this location safe. I'm pretty sure this is employee abuse too.

This area of First Hill is somewhat of a "food desert". There are a handful of these convenience stores, and this one happens to not only be the closest to where my friend lives should we need snacks, drinks or ice it's there. A few times we've been caught without some of those above-mentioned items and with the recent closure of Whole Foods walking to a grocery store for goods has been even more of a chore. Here comes Plaza Select. It's got pretty much everything you'd expect and want but marked up by a few dollars or so. Primarily my friend and I come here for Ice. $3.xx here as opposed to $2-2.50 elsewhere. Not a huge markup which is fine but on one of my visits I went to debit the purchase, and it was an additional $1 or 2 because anything under $5 carries a fee. I wish the owner who is mostly nice warned me or put up a sign. I could've basically got 2 bags of ice for 1 elsewhere at this point. If you're coming here to spend less than $5, be warned.

In addition to food/beverages and cards, you can pick up magazines and newspapers and some random "gifts" like stuffed animals, mugs and picture frames. And in the event that we should ever be trapped in our building, there are basic first aid and toiletry items available as well. Now, we are not talking about a whole lot of money, but it is still greedy and underhanded nevertheless. The kid there has charged me a dollar more for large chocolate bars. I found that out when the owner, Alex, charged me a dollar less and then I looked at the sticker on the display box and realized that two or three times I had paid a dollar more.
