This the worst Walgreens Pharmacy's ever. I've been there 5 times and they have NEVER had my medicine "called in" which is false. It's very upsetting for people who work and have to move multiple things around to get there. Also very upsetting when you are sick and desperately need medicine. I've watched multiple doctors send the information in front of my eyes after the first incident and even made them print me a SIGNED paper copy which they wouldn't accept. This review is for the pharmacy only. This is a busy location, so I rarely expect to be in and out. For the most part, it was fine because I managed my expectations. There have been minor inconveniences here and there that didn't really upset me. However, last night I was asked to take a seat and that my prescription would be ready in 5 minutes. About 45 minutes later, it still wasn't ready, and if I hadn't started to get impatient, who knows how much longer I would've been waiting. I told them that it totally would've been fine for them to take 45 minutes or longer HAD they said that. I could've left and come back. I made the decision to wait based on the inaccurate 5-minute wait time I was given. The pharm tech looked at me blankly, offering no explanation or apology. The pharmacy staff does not have good customer service skills. Additionally, they seem to be regularly stretched thin and stressed out. I'm going to go ahead and say it's poor management. I don't see things improving. Anyway, today I started transferring prescriptions to CVS. read more

Akash who runs the pharmacy was sexist against women and extremely combative in conversation. Unwilling and unhelpful when presented with an octogenarian's plight of not being able to fulfill her time-sensitive medication. He asked us a question and while we were attempting to answer, put me on hold and hung up the phone as we were answering questions about the efforts we made to call both the doctor and insurance companies. Knowing how time sensitive this medication is (her life depends on it) he told us we would have to wait 24 hours for him to make a phone call. He also accused us of lying about picking up a temporary prescription from another branch, and did not believe us when we explained we have reached out to both the doctor and the insurance companies. If you are looking for timely, kind assistance or any modicum of customer service, this is NOT the place to trust. His unruly, accusatory attitude is completely unacceptable. read more

Compared to a massive, super clean, new construction fully-stocked Walgreen's in the midwest suburbs, this can't compete. But they get the job done here, and your medicine and essentials are available when you most need them... which, in a big city, is about all you can hope for. read more

The pharmacy is the worst pharmacy I've ever dealt with my life. They are ridiculously understaffed. Never once has my medicine been ready on time. Every time I call in a refill order, I get the robocall saying my medicine is ready and when I get to the pharmacy the medicine is never ready like they said. One time my medicine was supposed to be ready at 3:30pm and it wasn't. I was told it would be a few minutes.... the pharmacy staff ignored me for 20 minutes, and when I asked for help again, it was still another 15 minutes until I got my medicine. I had even told them I had someone waiting for me in my car, to no avail. I left the store over 30 mins after my medicine was supposed to be ready. Next, their restocking system is a joke, because they barely do it. As I type, I'm sitting here with only 5 out of 30 pills because they only had five pills left to give me. Now I have to wait until they receive the rest, whenever that will be. I have been refilling that particular prescription for 6 months now. Why didn't anyone reorder the stock when they saw it was getting low? This is not the first time this happened. Finally, the pharmacy line.... It's a sick joke. There's never enough staff to handle the customer flow. If there's more than 3 people in line, prepare to spend at least 15-20 minutes standing and waiting. There's four million people in the city of Los Angeles. Businesses, especially billion-dollar corporations like Walgreens, need to assign staff accordingly in a city with such a high population. To conclude, pharmacies are local medical suppliers we place trust in to provide us with much-needed medications. This particular Walgreens has failed on all accounts, mostly due to understaffing. Understaffing has consequences, it makes both the customers and employees miserable. The only reason I have been going to this Walgreens is because they're the only pharmacy within 14 miles who carries all the meds I need. After I receive the rest of my pills, I'll be making that 14 mile drive. I have to. Walgreens pushed me to another pharmacy. Good bye and good riddance. read more

My favorite spot has been invaded by man child's. And YES it is plural! Entering upon the Walgreens on Wilshire & 20th to seek out my fall makeup lewk, nail polish and other beauty products with a friend in tow. We were greeted immediately which was appreciated. Further into shopping I opted to try on some tester lip liners/lipstick (a completely normal/expected thing to do & plus duh you'll lower your return rate) as well as I have been encouraged by the Walgreens beauty ambassador on multiple occasions in past. While I was applying the makeup I had this sudden urge to add concealer to my face but then I realized it wasn't my face that needed the concealing it was 'Juan' he popped up like a chucky doll and scared the skittles out of me! Juan proceeded to literally stand right behind me and continued to watch me in the reflection of the mirror (NOT OK) he asked if I was using testers & tester applicators as the the lipstick in my hand BOLDLY stated that it was a tester and told me to leave out all of the cosmetics because now he is going to have to clean them. And then he scooted closer and stared at me, looking around the mirror area and finally walked away. Juan's approach and demeanor was cheap, unprofessional and most importantly UNACCEPTABLE! And just in case you thought I was done I've one more true take to be told. As my friend and I were checking out the cashier named Robert took a big sigh and semi-loudly said "FINALLY you girls have everything you need! Because it took you a LONG time to figure it out." As a customer i didn't know that you stopwatches every single paying shopper that walks through the door of a 24 HR Store? Once again an unprofessional and unproductive comment. What was his point is beyond me. Nonetheless, I'm so surprised that this occurred because I have never (in the past) have had any bad experience but this one and hopefully only negative event took the case. I will be bringing this incident to attention and hope that no one else goes will ever receive this type of treatment. read more

This place is great - don't know why it has such negative reviews. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and while the parking situation can be frustrating, I've never had a problem parking in the parking lot, below the store. There's an escalator and an elevator. Store is clean, and the only line in which I've had to wait has been the pharmacy, and even then, I've seen a lot worse. Give these guys a try.. I'm only relating my experiences with the store, not the pharmacy. I returned 2 purchases with the appropriate receipt for $100; the inexperienced Cashier took 20 minutes to issue a return, and then it was for 30.99! When I pointed it out to her, another 30 minutes was wasted when I insisted several other managers audit her error. The Managers didn't know how to override the partial credit & told me that I would have to wait for the 30.99 to post on the credit card system, then return to be refunded the rest! That's a violation of state law, so I held onto the original purchase & stood my ground, until I received the balance in cash the next day ONLY because I called repeatedly. Don't trust them to solve a problem -- the eye-rolling and rudeness of the managers is astonishing. You allow someone to operate a cash register, making a $70 error and you make me fight for it for hours? Check your receipts, people -- nobody cares & will treat you with disdain. read more

Horrible pharmacist!! I will not be returning to this pharmacy after the women pharmacist that works on Thursdays treated me like crap for 3 weeks in a row! I recently had surgery and have been on pain medication because of it. She tried to act like she knew more than my doctor, and insisted that there is no way that I could be in pain anymore. I had to actually WALK to my doctor's office and explain to them what she was doing. He called her, and she requested my medical records. Even after that she was rude and told me that I didn't need them. The following week after my weekly checkup with my pain management doctor she AGAIN gave me a hard time! She said didn't you just get a prescription a week ago?? DUH I go in weekly and get a weekly amount at a time!! Save yourself the time and hassle and go somewhere else!! read more

It's hard for my money to keep still... anytime of the day, it just wants to keep moving and moving... And this particular Walgreens makes it easy for my mooooolah to get it's 'exercise', 24 hours a day! Pharmacy - 3 stars. They have a service so that my monthly prescriptions automatically get ordered and they conveniently call me to let me know they're ready. That's good! BUT when I finally get there to pick it up, the Pharmacists are so slow to move and very rude and irritable! Maybe they need to prescribe themselves some happy pills! : ) Film Development - 5 stars! I brought in some pics to be copied... instead Chris, the Film Specialist, told me that I could make these new fun pics into Holiday Cards - standby, they'll be on my profile soon... hilarious! We got there 30 minutes before that dept closed but he said not to worry and that he'd have the pics ready for us in less than 15-20 minutes! We were laughing so hard and had so many questions on how to work the photo machine / scanner... and he was really patient and explained everything as if we really weren't irritating the f*ck outta him. Thanks Chris! Just to think... I wasn't even gonna give out Christmas cards this year! : ) Products and store layout - 4 stars! Just because they're open 24 hours... does that really mean they can jack up the prices by a buck or two? I guess so... And they're usually fully stocked! 24 Hours - 5 stars! New sign on the door. Pharmacy isn't 24 hours anymore. They close at 9 on weekdays and 6 on weekends. Just another reason not to shop here. If the long waiting, bad parking, and messy store weren't reason enough. I assume this is one foot in the grave for them, they'll probably be closed soon. The pharmacy at this Walgreens is very busy. The line is massive, every time I come here (we're talking like 5 customers already lined up and maybe 1-2 sitting), and it moves very slowly. Generally, I come in just to pickup a prescription after receiving notification that it was ready for pickup - the act of which, by itself, takes 30 seconds. However, I often stand in line observing people filling new prescriptions, getting approved/rejected for receiving a flu shot, making insurance phone calls, etc.. finally, when I reach the counter, the actual pick up takes the expected 30 seconds. If only there were two cashiers always open, or a separate line for "pickups only", or a drive through, my entire experience could be as fast as it is at other locations. As it is, I'm on the hunt for less busy (or more efficiently organized) pharmacies. Any suggestions? :-) If you use this pharmacy, bring something to read in line, and do not come when you need to be somewhere else very soon. read more

This is one of the larger Walgreens in the general area. Most of the time the stores meet, but occasionally I have been in here when the store is a mess. Very well stocked with lots of items and a large selection to choose from. The cashiers come and go. This walgreens has a lot of touristy stuff like t-shirts & Sun visors that have Santa Monica written on them so that you can take them home as a memento or look cool all your neighbors in Minnesota. read more

filling a prescription was told half hour wait. after an hour waiting, checked and discovered my medication had been ready for 40 minutes. I was signed up for text message alerts, that didn't work. they agreed I should have been paged, did not know why I was not paged, did not know why I did not receive a text message alert. I was also sitting in view of the pharmacy staff so they had the opportunity to notice and check to see if anything was wrong. one star review is for 40 minutes of wasted time in addition to the 20 minute prescription refill time (which was reasonable) read more

So I just had the weirdest experience at this Walgreens. Checkout guy was super rude to me when I said I didn't want a rewards card. Then he just remained silent and stacked my stuff next to the register. I paid. He stared at me. I waited for him to bag it. He stared at me. Then he finally said "we don't have any bags." I said "none?" And he just stared at me. I said "you have no solutions, I'm just supposed to grab all this and carry it down to my car?" He just stared at me. Still no response. I awkwardly grabbed it all in my arms and said "this is a very odd customer service experience." He just stared at me. So I carried about 12 items, including 2 boxes of tampons and 2 boxes of panty liners, dropping stuff the whole way to my car down below in a parking garage. Creepy and annoying. I was in LA for 5 days and I came in here pretty much everyday. They sell everything! I came here for batteries, eyeliner, sunglasses (BOGO for $10!), crazy glue, maps, juice and snacks. I found the staff indifferent but with no attitude. It's a great one stop shop for basic needs. read more

Review for the Pharmacy* I usually go get my prescriptions at Rite-Aid, but for to make a tiny long story short, I had to resort to Walgreens. It was my first time and everything went smoothly! I had put in my order on Sunday afternoon, came back Monday afternoon to pick them up and they were ready within minutes. They went over the meds for me, and thanks to Covered CA insurance, I saved about $100 on my prescriptions! I don't know if Walgreens text you when your prescriptions are ready (like Rite-Aid) does, but I may be inclined to switch over my pharmacy now to have this good service :) - and there's easy parking. If you can't find a spot right outside, there is an entrance in the alleyway that leads to parking structure, fulllll of spots. read more

I've never been a fan of the Walgreen's layout. But, today I needed to get a few things and they were right there. I found my stuff, but it is an odd store. Know before you go.... It doesn't appear they have much if any parking BUT they do. It is just underground. Pull in and follow the signs. You can take the stairs, elevator or escalator up to the store. I found what I was looking for and got in and out pretty fast. There was a long line and one check stand open, but then they opened 2 more. read more

I have had nothing but problems trying to get shingles shots there. My doctor sent in a prescription 3 years ago for the old shingles shot. They couldn't find the prescription and I had to come back (once or twice). The last time I came back then, they informed me that I didn't need the prescription anyway. I believe they take a lunch break on the weekends and I had to wait a half hour for that also. So lately I wanted to get the new series of shingles shots. So I called yesterday to see if they had them in stock, because they didn't several weeks ago. They said they did have it and I said, "I'll see you later today". When I got there later they asked me, "did we call you?" I said why and she informed me that there is a lengthy waiting list and they have to call me before I can come in. I told her it would have been nice to be told that from the person on the phone, so I didn't have to make a special trip for nothing again. read more

This is my neighborhood Walgreens. I only recently started coming here, but I like that it's 24 hours and that it's right next to Rite Aid in case I want to hit both in one trip. It's a very compact store with a weird underground parking lot (the lot seems downright creepy at night time), but I really like the staff. I've been here at least a handful of timse with a different cashier each time, and they've been pretty good. Even late at night, like around midnight, the employees are still working hard and not making faces at you for making them do actual work on the night shift. I've had some complex transactions with coupons and most of the times they've been very on point and patient with me using coupons. It makes me feel pretty good to not be given the stink eye for using coupons! The one thing that seems lacking is that they don't seem to know the deals happening at their store... it's a little tricky to use coupons at Walgreens because you can only use as many coupons as you have items, so if you have any Walgreens register reward coupons, it takes some finagling to be able to use it. You have to find some cheap item to buy so you can still get all the discounts you want. Anyways, the first few times I tried, I didn't quite understand the filler concept, and at the register I didn't get much help at figuring out what super cheap items to get. Later when I got home, I realize when looking through the circular that there were at least 10 super cheap filler deals I could have used that they didn't suggest. Anyways, maybe I'm just asking a bit much and should have looked myself. Now that I have the hang of it it's been a lot easier. Anyways, overall the staff are good which is what will bring me back to this store. read more

A new Walgreens in the area. And it's on the corner of the 2 busiest streets in Santa Monica. Really good selection of different stuff. It's good for a small to medium sized shopping experience. The pharmacy staff and the whole store staff is nice. Really clean and organized. And it's pretty big too. Parking is ok. Defiantly will be back. They have lots of makeup items (possibly great for women). Drinks (I.E. sodas, morning drinks, alcohol, water, and energy drinks) selection is good. Except sometimes the chocolate milk is out of stock. They also have 12-packs of sodas. All other items are ok to good. read more

Typical walgreens, has the essentials you need if youre in a rush. Everything is well organized so faorly easy to find whatever it is youre looking for. This particular store is open 24 hours 7 days a week so just show up at any time. They always have great specials, just make sure youre carrying your rewards card or the price is sometimes DOuBLE! I just had a great experience with the Walgreens pharmacy staff. Even though they are swamped with administering COVID-19 vaccines, the staff members I interacted with were incredibly kind and patient with me. Nick, the pharmacy tech (I think), helped me and answered my questions with professionalism and patience (even though there were plenty of other customers in line behind me). Mary J., the pharmacist, was also very kind and helpful. The facility itself could use a bit of cleaning, but otherwise I had a very positive experience here today, mostly thanks to the staff. read more

This Walgreens is literal trash. I've had nothing but bad experiences here. I called in a prescription, got the confirmation call that my order was ready for pick up, and get there only to be told they didn't have half of my order. In addition to that, they said I did not qualify to get more of a certain SSRI (that is dangerous to just stop taking) because it hadn't been a month since I got it last. I know this is COMPLETELY false because I DID NOT even get my prescription from them the previous month. a week later I called in to let them know I needed my other medicine, they told me they'd call the insurance company and get it sent out. I never heard back. I'm going in tomorrow to complain and get my prescription for free since they keep fucking up. read more

The staff is too slow and unhelpful, when had I asked for some items, they answered that didn't have at the store. After several Min I found what I asked for. Deeply ineffective pharmacy. All my life I have never experienced the entire pharmacy staff to take a lunch break all at the same time! Therefore the pharmacy is closed from 1230-2 pm. This is deeply frustrating. Most service establishments take breaks separately - so the entire pharmacy isn't shut down for an hour and half. Anyways I'm really unhappy. Walgreens should really look into hiring a pharmacy manager who can give breaks for efficiently. read more

My boyfriend walked several miles in the cold and rain to pick up the photos he had developed in the photo center at this location. They only printed 7 out of 27 photos on one camera, and 19 on the other! And the receipt called for all 27! They did not return the film either, so there is no way to get all those pictures back. Very disappointed in this location and I will never come to this location again. Very heated and sad about losing pictures :-( booooooo Update: he called them and once he explained his problem they hung up on him. Horrible customer service too!!!!!! read more

Love me some Walgreen's. I am from Chicago and was quite glad to see them arrive in town. Maybe it was nostalgia, or maybe just common sense, but my allegiance to Walgreens was rewarded with consistently GREAT service, prices and a well-stocked store.
