They have been closed for almost a year. The store is actually still vacant and there has been nothing at all as far as construction or another company moving there. It was a very ineffective pharmacy and the CVS around the corner is so much better than that Walgreens. read more

Well, how could it get possibly worse?? My regular Walgreens on Boston St closed. Which unfortunately means I now have to go to the one on New Derby St. The rudest Pharmacy Techs ever, and there is always a mile long. The store itself I have no issue with, actually like the store. It's the pharmacy. Rec'd a text message that my prescription was ready to pick up. I have a friend drive me down through Halloween traffic etc. The Pharmacy tech tells me quite rudely "there is nothing here for you". I said well, I have a text message stating otherwise. After some going back and forth, she walks off and out of the Pharmacy area, leaving me hanging. Guess she didn't feel like dealing with it. Another tech came over who was a bit nicer tried to explain why I would be informed the prescription was ready when indeed it was not. I really need to look into CVS. Customer Service is very lacking in the Pharmacy. Which is unlike the Cashiers up front who are very pleasant. Not good experiences here. I wish they had kept the Boston St location open, and closed the New Derby St one. read more

Great sales there on home items.I haven't visited that location in a few years. A very nice fellow a few years ago generously bought me a bottle of water. Very nice of him. Occasionally I'd see him at the market on Highland avenue . The prices on the sale item are always competitive with the high volume market . I won't forget that nice fellow however. This pharmacy has the most amazing staff around! If all pharmacies had staff like this, it would be a completely different world.

I really really hate writing one star reviews but this is critically important to anyone else that needs Covid testing for travel. They *will not* get the job done in time for you causing massive headaches and 1,000's of dollars in change flight fees. Go to the CVS next door instead, they are MUCH MUCH better and do a wonderful job. THIS IS THE WORST STORE EVER. Don't ever shop here at Walgreens on Boston street in Salem. They treat the customers like gum on the sidewalk, they step all over you. And then kick you as hard as you can. Now I know why this store is always empty when we drive by. What a waste of life. The pharmacists that work here like a dead end train wreck of a job. It's soul sucking. I have no doubt though that karma will be coming for them after how terribly they treated me with this whole experience. And they will all remember the terrible Way they treated a customer, but it will come back around to them. How can you even call yourselves pharmacist's and you can't even carry out *precise* instructions by getting your scientific lab samples out? HA HA. That's a joke. There is no science behind what you do. And I love when you all try and act sooooo important. Give me a break. My issue and the reason for our review: Walgreens WAITED 2 WHOLES days to send my Covid samples out to the lab. The whole point is that the samples go out the same day as testing, no matter what. They knew it was needed for an overseas work trip. That's just evil to not care about your customers. The testing lab said they received the samples 2 DAYS after collection. Unacceptable. Also - when I took the Covid test the female pharmacist at Walgreens guaranteed that I would be ok with a day to spare, just to be safe. She said the samples leave for the lab on the same day as testing. Everyone else in my travel group tested a 1/2 day after me and got their results 24 hours later. So another example of incompetence on the Walgreens in Salem. I will boycott Walgreens for life because of this experience. Shame on all of you. The whole point of life is to LIVE not exist. You all are a bunch of zombies. I actually hope that this review inspires all of you employees to quit and get a real life. What is the point in this life when you make critically terrible decisions like this. Shame on you. Please do the right thing in the future, otherwise what is the point in living. The world needs more wonderful people, aiming to do the right thing, and the world does not need more people that add to the mess. I hope this serves a a big lesson for all of you and you do the right thing going forward. Walgreens employees - I am hoping you can change your life by reading this. read more

I'm very impressed with the employees at this location. I've been coming here for quite a few years now and have noticed the incredible improvement all around. Everyone is very friendly, helpful and professional. You really don't see this type of professionalism anywhere anymore and it's unfortunate. Keep doing what your doing! read more

This pharmacy Is very unprofessional an unpleasant to their customers. The only reason I'm giving them one star is because there's no option to give them no stars. We have tried to talk to them and work with them and are doctors on different prescriptions and they prefer to do it their way and not listen to the doctors instructions. We are definitely changing pharmacies right after Christmas but if anybody was thinking of joining this pharmacy for their pharmacy needs, I suggest you go elsewhere. They will give you a very unpleasant experience. read more

I have been in here a handful of times and have never found anything remotely appealing about it. The store is always a mess, the people are rude, both customers and the staff, and nothing is ever even worth the little bit of money you spend on it. The one redeeming quality is that they have a RedBox OUTSIDE. And the redeeming factor is that you don't actually have to go in the building to use it. I love RedBox! but not so much this Walgreens. read more

I will stop using Walgreens in Salem on Boston st. Salem, MA. if they don't start taking covid seriously! Every single time I go into that store there is a stand when you walk in that is suppose to hold disinfecting wipes for customers and hand disinfectants. EVERY time I go there its empty and never filled with wipes or any kind of hand disinfectant! Pharmacies and stores need to help stop the spread of covid not create it! Stop the spread! it takes only a minute to fill your wipe stand and put out hand sanitizer! read more

Drive thru pharmacy, cleaner store, nice people, easier parking. This is the better of the two Walgreens in Salem. The one on Derby is a joke; it takes an hour to pay for one thing, scary people hang around the doors and it seems that every other day the police are there. read more

This location is much better than the Derby street location and a better parking lot. Mike was hilarious and full of energy! I wish I was half as excited as he was about his job going into work everyday. Store was clean and organized and I was able to find what I needed without issue. read more

The best thing i did was to switch away from Walgreens Salem MA. I had gone to the Boston St. location for decades but after being treated like crap for over two years while turning the other cheek, I finally realized there's a deep bias by Truong and Phoebe the manager. It may be political -hard to believe the only two who last over there are so bored with their job they need to mes with the customers. Though i saw different, pt-time or short-term, technicians who were very nice they never stayed. Wonder why.. I feel sorry for any other customers having same problem over there it's best to not blame yourself just switch away from Walgreens bc bad management trickles all the way down. read more

I went there the other day to return a shaving machine that i had original purchase from Walgreen in beverly , it was 100$ machine that my husband tried and he did not think its worth the 100$ so we decided to return it when i walked in of course i had to wait in line for a long time and finally when my turn came the manager (Cathrin) looked at the receipt and immediately said no thats from beverly im nit returning!! So i said how come? She said its a 100$ return and you got it from beverly so you need to return it there! So i said i understand you dont want to take a loss today but its one system and i have always returned or exchanged stuff from other Walgreens as well! So she says my computer wont do it sorry and turned her back! I was fuming honestly, you dont treat customers like that! Thats why i decided to give this review. read more

i am writing this review because i checked in here. the people are dopes outside at the redbox. people don't pull into the parking spots directly across from the redbox but instead park AT the redbox, almost always in godzilla-sized SUVs, because they are lazy. i went in to this walgreens once after having my wisdom teeth extracted and i'm pretty sure they were looking at me like i was a shifty second-class citizen. i prefer this walgreens to the one downtown, though. the downtown one is bodega-y and i'm a lover of suburban, large and in charge drugstores. read more
