This staff is friendly - very busy around 2-4 on weekdays. The pharmacy is located in a shopping center so it is a bit hard to see the sign, the building is quite ugly, but inside the pharmacy, they do have a nice selection of over-the-counter meds, and a surprisingly large selection of lubricant. Parking lot is full of cars from other businesses so go early. read more

I went in for a flu and covid vaccines and they argued me out of both. They brought up guidelines counter to what I found on the website from Walgreens. I head read 14 days post-Covid and they told me two months wasn't enough. Upon entry he said "wow you waited until the last minute" for the flu vaccine which is supposed to be offered until April (his words)? I left and booked an appointment at Real Walgreens over on Palm Canyon. I wanted to support a local pharmacy closest to my house but I was really disappointed that by this anything-goes outpost I hope corporate Walgreens gets into shape. They wasted two vaccines by chasing me out. I don't know what's going on at this location but it's not based on science, or care. read more

Walgreens Community Pharmacy (WCP) was once the most helpful organization in the community and I reviewed it as such. In 2022, don't even waste your time here because it will cost you. The staff has changed and the only employees who stayed are not consumer-friendly. Frst, they were unable to get the medication and then they told me they could only provide half and couldn't tell me if or when they were able to complete the order. They wanted to charge me $19.95 for 1/2 of the Rx medication and the pharmacist said that it would cost me double the amount for the whole Rx. That's a $40.00 copay for a drug that is sold over-the-counter for $6.95 at CBS! I've been a customer at WCP for years and yet when I lost my medication, the veteran pharmacist there told me there was nothing they could do about it. There was a time when physicians respected WCP; today they ask me if I have a secondary pharmacy. Friends have told me that they pay more at WCP than any other pharmacy. What are they charging for. I was once proud to be a customer. Today, it is humiliating. In the ER last night a staff member told that there have been complaints about WCP. That was it! I have no choice but to move on. Now it's the drudgery of having to leave one pharmacy and go to another. And I do hope they see this because maybe they will change because you can have the most fabulous healthcare providers in the universe but it is meaningless when your pharmacist can't complete the quality-care cycle by providing you with the medications you need and lately WCP is way behind in performance. Shame on the executives at Walgreens for dropping the ball once again. Walgreens should either change or go out of business! read more

The best of the best! Moved here after having terrible,(SAYING OUT LOUD!) from CVS. After giving CVS a second chance, I was done... being ignored, talked down to by three unhappy employees, including the under paid, and over worked pharmacists-plus, the wait is like being on a Jerry Springer show. My husband and I were literally watching an out burst, and almost slapping blows from two adults. A woman started it. The reason I bring up CVS on Sunrise is because most of there Customers are going to Community Walgreens now. We talked to several folks that had similar experiences. There they often know your name when you walk in- employees always have a smile, with a sense of humor at times. NEVER ever do they make you feel like you are putting them out-- They want to help, and make your experience there a good one every time. A+++ on service and attitudes. Good job, guys. read more

I'm sad to write this review because we've only raved about this pharmacy and staff for the last two years and even though we moved to Palm Desert it was still worth going to them. But, today I was met with rude and indifferent service by not only the person that answered the phone, but by Kevin the manager. I had the nerve to ask if our prescription was ready and if not what time it would be. The answers were "it should be, we're really busy" and "probably". She had zero interest in helping customers in a friendly fashion and I seemed to be bugging her. We had our prescriptions transferred to the Palm Desert Walgreens. I switched over to this pharmacy within the last year, and generally, I've been pleased with everything. I'm giving a three-star review because the last couple of times I've been in the pharmacy, there were employees, including the head pharmacist, with facemasks either missing or around their necks. After a hospital, I think a pharmacy would be one of the places where facemasks would be worn 100 percent of the time. It's discomforting to think that prescriptions are being filled around people without facemasks. To my knowledge, facemasks are legally required everywhere in California now. Customers at this pharmacy are certainly required to wear them. read more

This Walgreens is especially kind to the large population of local LGBT+ patients they service. They seem like a close-knit family, and are always willing to help out and answer questions. Here you get the personal touch, where they take time to remember your name and be friendly with everyone. I'm really grateful to use Community Pharmacy over any others in the area. When I came to PS this week, I discovered that I'd forgotten my medication. I went to this Walgreens to try to get a refill. Another person was being helped when I got there. I saw the main pharmacist in back, who was busy working on another order. But when he saw me waiting, he came up front right away. When Blue Shield then refused to refill my prescription because they'd already filled it, he offered to call them and try to get a rep on the phone so he could explain my problem. He spent a lot of time on the phone, and finally found it impossible to get a rep. He was very apologetic. The pharmacist didn't have to do all of this for me, and my order wasn't a big profit-maker for his store. I really appreciated the excellent service. Cute little store! read more

I scheduled an appointment to get my COVID booster shot. Arrived ahead of my appointment by 15 minutes and was told that they didn't have the medication in stock and that they had called me to let me know. I never received a call from them. Once I got home, I called them and advised that I hadn't received a call from them. They claimed that they had my phone number wrong (I have to enter my phone number every time I have picked up prescriptions and I get text messages from them, so it didn't make sense to me at all) I assured they had the correct number and was told they would call me when the medication arrived. I week later, still not call, so I called and asked to speak to the manager, who told me they had never been out of the medication and that if I wanted the shot I had to fill out the paperwork again, I told him that he was mistaken and then he turned very rude and hung up on me. NEVER rely on Walgreens Community Pharmacy. read more

Community RX used to be the go to place for great service if you needed medication management for a chronic illness. This was before Walgreen's bought the place and swallowed up another local pharmacy. The place sucks now. The staff is full of drama, they don't seem to be able to make the auto-refill system work and they just don't care. It's really tiring to go into a business where the staff is at each others throat all the time. A great alternative is Cienega Pharmacy in Los Angeles. They ship all over Southern California with next day delivery. They specialize in medication management for chronic illnesses. I live in Palm Springs but another friend here in the desert recommended Cienega...and with one phone call, everything was set up. They even covered my co-pays and I had next day delivery to my door. read more

The place is understaffed, it's a 50/50 chance they have the medication you require and there is nothing personal between you and the chemist. Part of a national chain but you'd never know it. The Pharmacists and the Techs at this location take the time to get you to know you personally. They go the extra mile and treat you with compassion. This review is long overdue. I have been a customer for the past 10 years and have watched as renovations and becoming a Walgreens store have evolved. The staff is amazing!! I feel like Norm walking into Cheers, where everyone knows my name!My prescriptions are always on time and the staff have gone above and beyond to find the best price for my prescriptions. I moved to Palm Springs about 15 years ago. I had been using Community Pharmacy in San Diego before the move. Community Pharmacy opened a store in Palm Springs and Dave, the pharmist asked me to come back to Community Pharmacy because they needed the business and I was a "cash cow" because I filled many perscriptions each month. I started using the pharmacy again. Everything was great until Wallgreens bought Community Pharmacy. They hired new people, most of them were competent and nice until they hired a clerk who was inappropriate and did not do her job. The new pharmisist "K" was just as nasty. I called corporate and reported them.( Both still work there.) The abuse I took for several years was my fault for not leaving sooner. I give 2 thumbs down to community pharmacy. I am glad to say they lost thousands in insurance money evey month because I wont be buying anthything at that pharmacy again...It is sad when employees of a pharmacy treat customers with disrespect when they are physically ill. YUCK what an awful experience. After several months of finding dud after dud in the pharmacy department, I found White Cross Pharmacy located on Sun Rise next to the DAP. They are great and well informed about insurances. They even use a real person to deliver to my home. WAY better than Community Pharmacy in every way... read more

For people living in the area, Community Pharmacy is a lot like the drugstores of our childhood - since the staff knows each patron and are willing to do anything to be of help getting your prescriptions filled. Their Achilles heel is the automated Walgreen's computer system that 3/5 times doesn't remind them to fill regular prescriptions or sends you text messages that prescriptions are (or aren't) ready for pickup, and then the OPPOSITE is true when you walk in the door). The two regular pharmacists are 5/5 guys in all aspects, it's just a shame that they're now working "supported" by a semi-functional data system. Before they were bought out a few years ago, this place was without a doubt the best pharmacy that I've ever dealt with. Now it's the same great in store service working with what feels like an old MS-DOS operating system behind them. Unfortunately the screwed up refill system has gotten me so frustrated that I finally decided to take some of my prescriptions online with one of the faceless (and careless) corporate mega-pharmacies that functions like clockwork, so long as YOU fit THEIR system and have no special needs. read more
