I'd give this location a "0" if it was possible. With the exception of the very sweet young woman with blue hair, this Walgreens pharmacy is the most poorly run and has the rudest, most undertrained/poorly trained staff of any Walgreens I have been to in the past 20 years. The story below is just what happened today.
It was the last straw after a full year at this location. I am completely dissatisfied. I will transfer my prescriptions to the Rite Aid or Target nearby. None have a drive thru, but they're all faster and nicer, so worth the loss.
This store's pharmacy is a study in horrible customer service. Surely poor management. This high volume location appears to be under-staffed (or it's just so inefficient)!! I don't know if the understaffing is a local or corporate problem.
At this location:
--Go through the Drive Thru midday and wait on line 30+minutes.
--Go through the Drive Thru at 8PM, ditto.
--Go through the Drive Thru at 8:30AM Saturday morning, same thing!
This Sat. AM at 8:30AM, here's what happened:
--I was the only car there.
--Someone said twice, "I'll be with you in a minute" (yeah...that didn't happen). Worse, she wasn't at the window, so it just sounded like a recording.
--No greeting. They do tend to treat customers like an annoyance at this location (except the really sweet young woman with the blue hair--she's one of the best pharmacy assistants anywhere).
--The woman who helped me was stressed and behaved like it: No greeting. No humanity. No interaction. (Staff at this location mostly seem stressed out and completely on their own to know how to interact with customers.)
--Then, she said my credit card was expired. I use Express Pay there and did so just a few days before.
--So, she shouted out the last 4 digits of my credit card number (there are a lot of elderly people in this town, so maybe--since she never looked at me anyway--she thought I was one and was hard of hearing...or she's just plain rude) so loudly that anyone on line, outside or inside, could hear. It was my husband's credit card! Somehow, it had been entered into my Express Pay. I didn't feel comfortable giving my credit card to this woman, as she behaved like a pushy phone scammer.
--She asked, "do you want to talk with a manager?" I said "yes," even though I felt bad about the four cars now behind me. Had I been her, or trained her, I'd have suggested (to me) to come inside the store, given how long the outside line had gotten.
--The manager was no better. No apology. No effort to figure out why the wrong credit card number was on my account.
--I told him I was not happy with this experience.
--He said, "Have a nice day." That's all he said.
--I parked and looked up how to transfer prescriptions to a different pharmacy, as that was my last trip to Walgreens for as long as I'm living in this town. Too bad.
THIS WAS NOT THE FIRST TIME I HAD THESE KINDS OF PROBLEMS AT THIS WALGREENS. It WAS my LAST TIME. And, unfortunately, because of it I will lose the convenience of Walgreens's drive through and national database. Oh well... read more
