I understand why this location has a 2.3 rating. One star is too generous. The pharmacy service is unacceptable. The staff acts like they're doing you a favor IF they do their job. They don't hesitate to place you on a perpetual hold, and neglect to follow up after asking for your contact number. I called the previous night, and spoke to Sally, to avoid a delay since it was an out of town script. We arrived, for pickup, before lunchtime; they started lowering the shutters around 10-15 minutes before lunchtime - while people were still in line; worse, there was no acknowledgment...RUDE! I was finally told their system wasn't working and Sally committed to check with tech support after lunch, and to call me when the order was ready...5 hours ago! Pharmacist Wooin Chung was very nice & helpful to work with. I broke my knee while visiting my mother in the desert and needed to get my prescription filled. It was quite an ordeal, trying to get it moved to this Rite Aid instead of my usual Rite Aid in San Diego where I live. So my mother had to go pick up my prescription for me as I can't walk... At first there was confusion and a problem with my medication being in stock. And this pharmacist was incredibly busy and a little stressed out, but still took the time to be very helpful and get my prescription filled and work with my mother so that she was not wasting her time going all the way there to get this for me. It's so nice when pharmacists are helpful and kind and not intimidating and rushed. He was incredibly nice and explained everything to her. We are very thankful. read more

The pharmacist working the evening of Sunday, Sept 1st needs to learn manners and what customer service means. We got back into town from vacation and arrived at RiteAid a couple of minutes before 6:00. The pharmacy had started to close. The woman working the register wanted to get my prescription but the pharmacist told her told tell me to come back Monday at 9:00. We've gotten a couple of phone calls per day to pick up this prescription and to be insulted by the pharmacist was uncalled for. BYW, they open at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, Labor Day. read more

Definitely can say this is probably the nicest location we've been to in all of Southern California. Store is clean and in nice area. We stopped for one last Thrifty ice cream pit stop before heading back to Arizona. Service was ok, but only one employee running the ice cream plus the cashiering for the entire store. If one more employee was working the counter it could be a five star experience for sure. read more

ALWAYS answering the phone. Most the other stores don't. I've been going to Rite Aid for decades. The Palm Desert at Cook and Country Club is the best. The staff have to deal with a lot of entitled bs from customers. This part of town especially. I've watched it for years. I'm sad they are closing on 6/30. I hope the workers find other jobs. I recently moved to the area from Texas and had called this past Saturday to have a prescription transferred from Walgreens and gave my info over the phone and was told I would be contacted when it was ready. Tuesday comes by and saw it still showed as ready on the Walgreens app. I decided to call a local independent pharmacy to have them get it from Walgreens only for them to be told that it was sent to Rite Aid, so the called this store who had no record of anything. No prescription and no profile for me after I had given my info to a pharmacy staff member over the phone 4 days before. I personally went there and there was no record even though I have record on my phone of a 10 minute phone call with someone in this store. read more

3 1/2 stars. I was craving Ice cream after dinner. I don't think about this Rite Aid location but happen to be driving by and stopped in. I went for the two scoops of ice cream in a cup which is reasonable compared to competition ice cream shop north of here. The selection was decent and they open until 900 pm which was handy. I have been going to Savon at Albertsons I called to have an important prescription refilled a week before expiration and was told it was delayed and when it would be in. A few days later, delayed again. A day later, manufacturer out of it. Scary, so I called Rite Aid, they had it and the very nice woman pharmacist had the prescription transferred and I will get my pills tomorrow. whew. read more

LACKS COMPLIANCE (HIPAA) & RUDE PEOPLE Let's talk about compliance. One of the main female employees working in the pharmacy, regularly rings up customers, had a complaint filed against her. We are pretty sure nothing ever changed with her. The store manager appeared clueless when he was presented with the problem, (he was probably hired when they couldn't find anyone else). When you hand someone your driver's license and the pharmacy counter, there is no need to repeat the name loudly that you see, or any other information on the ID. This simply means the customer wanted the store clerk to be complaint while following HIPAA laws. We are sure she does it purposely when she was asked 3 times before, while visiting the store (same person) not to do that. THERE IS NO PRIVACY. If you work in healthcare, you know how strict compliance laws are. Perhaps a secret shopper can follow up with this location to report back to corporate the violations they have there. There are a few people employed who simply shouldn't work with the public. Unfortunately, we will never do business with that location there. That pharmacy clerk shouldn't be there. This is the worst Rite Aid!! The pharmacy in particular. Your prescription is NEVER ready. I've been having my scrips filled here for a year now and it has never been ready when THEY say. I'll call to refill. It will say "ready by 11:00". I show up at 11:15 - they say "it's not ready it will be about 15-20 min. Ok fine. Another example. They say "ready by 11:00 for pickup" on the refill (telephone) line. I show up at 11:30 - they say "it was ready at 11:00. You'll have to wait". WHAT?! It's always an excuse. They're rude, the gals behind the glass are gossiping in front of customers. So tacky. Lastly - the bathroom. You enter and it's like you're being transported to an Indio Blvd. gas station bathroom. It's surprising because it's in Palm Desert. Who is running things here?! read more

I picked up a Medication with a price of over $200.00. I asked if they could do better using my GoodRX or any coupons. No they said. I go home and Google Rite Aid prices for my medication and the price shown is $88 for same number of tablets. I go back to the store and they will not help me. They do not care about the customer but about their profit margins. Will try to never set foot in a RiteAid again. read more

After almost 9 months of Covid-19, we have learned that wearing a mask while in public is the best way to protect yourself and others from contacting this awful virus. With that said. I went in to this Rite Aid to pick up my prescriptions. As I walked into the store, I noticed a young girl that didn't have a mask on. I mentioned this to the cashier. She did nothing. I mentioned this to the pharmacist, she told me that Rite Aid employees can't approach a customer and require them to wear a mask. WHAT? The manager of the store said the same thing. Over 200,000 American citizens have died from is virus. Where's Rite Aid's responsibility to protect us while shopping in their store? Time to find another RX. Please wear your mask. I wanted to write a nice review for this Rite-Aid because it was close to a job-site I was working at which made it the perfect place for me to pick up some water and snacks... I had to leave a review because they had organic snacks at this location. YES! I didn't have to settle for a sleeve of sunflower seeds they actually had individual sized organic snacks like Amy's, Annie's, and Late July. The store was also well organized and the bathrooms were very clean. The staff was friendly enough, and this location has a good selection of different items you would expect to find at Rite-Aid. read more

This Rite Aid has the worst pharmacy response. I have made numerous calls and they never answer their phone at all. I am guessing this store has low ratings for a good reason. I certainly would not recommend seniors or for that matter anyone to use this particular Rite Aid pharmacy at all. I have been attempting to get the Updated Covid 19 booster and the Rite Aid pharmacy near me on 111 Hwy doesn't have the Moderna Updated Booster (which is strange since I got all my previous Coviid 19 Moderna vaccinations there) and was told me that I should call the Rite Aid pharmacy on Country Club and Cook as they thought they might have it there. Obviously that doesn't work nor trying to making an appointment online with them there either as it doesn't say which Covid 19 vaccine they have available. I find it very frustrating since I have been a loyal customer of Rite Aid for many, many years now. I realize it is now time to switch to a better run drug store chain. read more

I miss getting my prescriptions here! Recently, I ran out of a medication. It'd been two weeks of the runaround between my insurance and the doctor's office. I left the store last night without my medication, irritated, due to problems with my insurance provider and doctor. The pharmacist could have left it there, which is what I expected since it wasn't there fault. However, the next morning I get a call to pick up my medications. She continued working the problem even after I left and fixed what others couldn't for weeks. AWESOME service! read more

There is no other place that I hold such disdain for but this pharmacy has found that special place in my heart. My wife had two prescriptions filled at this location. She was terribly sick and had never taken these two medications before. She was on doctor's orders about the dosage allowances and mixing other medications. The two bottles did not clearly specify the dosage of each capsule. One of the bottles simply said the name of the medication followed by "--25-250." The label did not have "mg" followed by the numbers. I called the pharmacy to verify and was initially told "the dose is on the bottle." When I said that I was unclear about it she sighed and said, "It's the number after the name." I responded with, "Ok, can you tell me the dosage on the other medication." Her response was filled with unbelievable attitude, "I told you that it's on the label." I respond with, "You are the pharmacist and I'm asking you to help me." She tells me the dosage on the second medication and then hangs up before I could say anything further. It was quite unbelievable. I really, truly have never said that someone has lost me as a customer forever, but Rite Aid has become the first. It was an incredibly stressful moment when I needed help and I was treated horribly. A few weeks after this experience, someone got me some cooling pads from Rite Aid. When I found out they were from Rite Aid, I returned them. I don't believe Rite Aid deserves my business. read more

He has outstanding customer service skills and frankly the nicest employee of ANY Ride Aide I've ever been in....I truly believe in this day and age a lot has been LOST when it comes to CUSTOMER SERVICE. One reason YELP has become such an important tool for us as CUSTOMERS....as I come across employees like Hector it's a Pleasant surprise to say the least. He goes about his job in such a positive manner, and it's not just me, I've stood in line at Ride Aide and watched him treat each & every customer the same. They really need to improve the staff in the pharmacy. I'm in healthcare so I know how easy it is to look up a patients benefits. The clerk took 30 minutes to find me in their system, I have Aetna insurance, it's a major insurance. The pharmacy tech was very rude. I needed a vacation pack for some medication I forgot (non-scheduled) while visiting from Washington State. My rx was declined by my insurance stating it was requested too soon. I was told the pharmacy would call my insurance but it could be a couple of hours as they were busy. Trying to be helpful, I called my insurance company for the approval. When I received the ok, I told the pharmacy tech and she rudely yelled "did I tell you to call" and stormed off. I did reported it to the pharmacy manager but was told "well we are busy" excusing the tech's rude behavior. I am sure the Rite Aid corporate office would appalled at the lack of customer service. I will be sure to let my patients know this is the type of interaction they can expect from Rite Aid and recommend other more customer friendly pharmacies read more

I went in to the Rite Aid on Cook and Country Club the other day to pick up a prescription that was called in by my Dr. An African American lady with over size glasses and chewing gum with a name I can't pronounce but starts with an "N" was working the counter and ask for my date of birth and came back and said "i have nothing for you". I told her the prescription was called in about 40 minutes ago. She kept looking then checked her voice mail and said no I have nothing. Another person working there said to check the fax and guess what? It was there. To me it would seem that common sense would be to check all methods of receiving prescriptions before tell the customer no. I had to wait awhile for my medication all the while watching her chew and pop her gum in front of customers. Rite Aid must have a policy on gum chewing. Or maybe not. The store its self is great and the prices are reasonable. The pharmacy needs better staffing. read more

I just finished my shopping experience at Rite Aid #05682 in Palm Desert. This is the THIRD time I have entered this store to be welcomed by TWO trash cans over-flowing and trash blowing all over the place at the sliding entry door. Disgusted, I grabbed a cart and found two employees chatting in the aisle. I told them both about the over-flowing cans and that someone should empty them. They both walked away. I continued gathering the items that I went in for and turned the corner and the guy I told previously about the trash was now stocking liquor. Making my way to check out - I asked to speak to a Manager - I was told it was Vince and they would get him. It was the very same guy that I told when I went in. Obviously he couldn't give two craps about the trash over-flowing at the front...a great first impression. Until things are cleaned up I will shop at Walgreens or Target for the things that I need. I expect more from RiteAid - this WAS a nice store. Now just a garbage pile...what a shame. read more
