Walgreens has really changed over the years. In our area, Walgreens and CVS own the pharmacy market. We don't even have a local pharmacy near us, so if I need a prescription that can't wait for mail order, those are my two choices and Walgreens is closer to our house. Their pharmacy is understaffed and overworked. I feel badly for the people who work there. There is usually a line and people sometimes get rude with the pharmacist when it isn't really their fault. Corporate Walgreens should add more people. I will say the store is laid out well and is always neat and tidy. But, like the pharmacy, the other departments and checkout are understaffed leading to waits before you can leave. Personally, I like Walgreens for quick purchases. Unless I'm picking up a prescription, I find I go to other quick shops to get what I need and don't consider going to Walgreens. read more

My 94 yo mom received a prescription at the ER today (Sunday). I needed to find a 24 hour pharmacy to fill it. Her usual pharmacy was no longer open. I had to leave her in my car in order to bring the script in. When I got to the pharmacy tech I asked if he could have it delivered as my mom was in the car. He said give me a few minutes. He showed up in about 25 minutes with the prescription filled! He saved the day! Thank you! Great staff! read more

I would give it a a smidge over 4 stars. I definitely prefer Walgreens over CVS for scripts. For the regulars who know this location, have you noticed that the check out lines are getting longer and it's a little less organized than it used to be? I also miss the very friendly cashier that used to work there. But like I said, I still like that it is a 24 hour pick up for medications. They just need a few more employees. read more

Walgreens - 24 hour Walgreens with same day pickup for some photo services - Drugstores Near Me - Palatine, Illinois

My daughter's prescription for a liquid antibiotic was short 20%. We figured it out when the bottle ran out early despite us following the dosing instructions exactly. Multiple employees at this store including a pharmacist refused to believe me and insisted I was lying and that their machine and workers cannot make a mistake. This was not just one bad employee but a systemic problem across every pharmacy employee in the building. Infuriating that my daughter needs this medicine to cure an infection and their priority is their money and their internal metrics. HOW CAN YOU SELL SOMEONE ONLY 80% OF WHAT THEY PAID FOR AND REFUSE TO MAKE IT RIGHT??? AM I SUPPOSED TO BRING A 100ml MEASURING DEVICE TO CHECK BEFORE I LEAVE THE STORE???? Update: After calling them back to try to resolve the issue, they tested the dispensing machine and found it need a calibration adjustment. Pharmacy messed up refilling time sensitive prescription with no accountability or remorse

This is about a return on a purchase I just made not even 5 minutes before I returned it. Found some things on clearance but apparently one wasn't so I immediately returned it but was told it's Walgreens policy to ask for ID on anything with a receipt over $10. I ran in and just wanted to get home after work but nope had to run back to get my ID because my receipt and the fact I was just in there not 5 minutes prior. I don't return thing one and two it was a $16.99 item with a RECEIPT. The same person who was the cashier was asking for ID for an item I had a receipt that wasn't even 5 minutes old. Yes I'm mad bcz I barely shop at Walgreens and now I won't be anymore including my family prescriptions will be moved as well. I'm so disgusted right now by this. Haven't been here in a while . They had redone this location. It's really quite lovely they have an optical department , beautiful Makeup area that rivals department stores with out the prices, after all Revlon and L'Oréal are sought after in Europe . Dead pharmacy services and their stores aren't all that well maintained or cleaned either. Calling the pharmacy is a nightmare in and of it's self. Getting prescriptions "E-Prescribed" doesn't work anymore. I warn you now, do not let your provider "E-Prescribe" have them call it in or better yet give you a paper prescription like the old days. The vaccine services here are garbage at best. You come for a 10:30 AM appointment they have you sitting and waiting til 11:15 when you walk out yelling "screw this I'll go elsewhere" What's the point of an appointment? Especially when the vaccine dispensing "pharmacist" isn't wearing a mask. The waiting queue glass is broken, I asked them to get it fixed months ago and they still haven't fixed it. Their E-Prescribing system is broken just like this broke ass pharmacy. When you tell them it's their system they try to deflect blame to you or your doctors office. Yet they just "upgraded" two days ago and nothing has been good since then and since before then the store has been dirty and poorly maintained. Locals in Palatine might want to consider Staywell pharmacy, to hell with the big chains. Bring on the independent chemists like the yesteryears of Britain. Walgreens is a crap hole, especially when the staff won't wear a damned mask. Update: they said my prescription would be ready at 10:30AM today after I had my doctor call it in because their computers are broken. I live very close to this location and on the morning of 3/29, I went in to get some press-on nails because they have the brand I wear and I knew the had the design I wanted for easter. Well I walked in and the beauty lady welcomed me as she was checking out another customer, she asked if I needed and help and I said no and then I was looking at some nails up front and she's like "you know we have more down this aisle and a stand over there." I let her know that I knew because I literally know where everything is in this location because I live so close. I'm also socially awkward and really shy so when I am out shopping by myself I like to be left alone unless I need help. Well I found the press-on nails that I wanted because I had seen them there a few weeks ago and was hoping they'd still be there and they were. Anyways I'm walking down the skin care aisle and this is where I first noticed it, she's following me and watching me. Like I'd take two steps and she was right behind me watching me following me, then I went into the next aisle from the skincare which is the styling tools and she follows me there, she's at the end of the aisle watching me as I was looking at heatless curlers. At this point she's making me feel so uncomfortable that I couldn't take it anymore. I bolted to the registers with my purchase because I needed to get out of there, she just made me so uncomfortable and anxious. When I was waiting in line she was standing RIGHT THERE WATCHING ME, on the other side where like the chips and impulse stuff is she's standing there watching me..she sees me in line and says "I can take you at beauty" I tried as kindly as I could (because I was freaking out) "No thanks I'm good right here." She said if I was sure and believe me I was, and I let the kind lady know that she made me uncomfortable and that she'd let the manager know. My cashier did calm me down a bit as she was checking me out. Like I get customer service because I'm in retail myself but what she did was overboard and no one should feel uncomfortable while shopping. Like I don't know if she thought I was going to steal or something but I don't do that. I wish I had gotten her name, but she's an older lady with long blonde hair had a bright red lipstick on and when I went in at like 11am she was wearing all black. Good luck ordering prescriptions. Placed an order on Saturday morning...was given a Monday pick up. Whatttt !!!! This is a 24 hour location. Why does it take 2 days to fill a basic diabetic pen prescription?? Get a message on Monday (2 days now) saying order delayed out of stock (all to common at most Walgreen locations lately). Sent an email to corporate. I got a stock reply in return. It's now Tuesday 12:00 still no prescription. I check my app and ITS CANCELLED!!! Not by me !! I guess you complain, you get cancelled. No benefit to go here anymore, it's back to Express Scripts and the week lag time. At least I can get 90 days thru them and far less aggravation read more

so disappointed the way Walgreens photo works in this particular store. I went today to collect my photo prints, store associate asked is the photo taken in studio and do I have hold the rights to print the copy. I said yes I bought the copy rights. Then she asked me do you have proof for that? I said yes i have the email for that. Then she told me she need the release form in physically not sure which decade we are in. I tried to convince her but she is rude. I think she is kind of r*****. I took those photos in other store previously without any issue. This is my go to store when it comes to Walgreen's. As other reviewers have mentioned, it is a no frills Walgreens. It has not been updated like some of the other local stores. I like this Walgreens because it never seems as crowded and I can get my medications quickly. The employees here are also very friendly. This is regarding the Time Care Clinic: Beware!!!!!! Undisclosed Fees!! I would like to bring to your attention the highway robbery that is the Advocate /Walgreens take care clinic. People have been going to take care clinic for awhile but now since they were bought out by advocate.. They are charging a new client fee since the client was not in their system. They do not disclose this when you go in and are not told that insurance doesn't cover this. It is illegal to not disclose this type of information and then expect someone to pay $180 as a supposed new client even though a closet had been going to the take care clinic in the past. read more

I'm in my 50s. I went to this Walgreens with my wife to purchase NyQuill. The cashier asked me for a photo ID. No one asked me for a photo ID when I purchased one before. Anyway, I showed her my ID. Then she asked my wife for a photo ID. I told her she didn't bring one and I didn't understand why the cashier also had to see my wife's ID. I was just buying NyQuill. She didn't have to see my wife's ID and waste out time. I'm not sure if it's Walgreens policy checking both IDs for NyQuill or this cashier needs better training. read more

I love coming to this Walgreens.. Upon arrival you are always greeted by their awesome staff, thruout the store is always clean and well organized. This is a 24/7 Walgreens which has a drive in, photo service, western union, passport photos I mean all is right here. The minus 1 star is for the pharmacy which needs more help this pharmacy is always back ed up due to lack of help. I love that this Walgreens is my community pharmacy. The employees here are super nice especially the young man with long threads. He's always so cheerful and smiles at every customer that walks in. Just like if he knew everyone. I always feel like if I've been coming here for years. To see that man smile and greet me is always very good to see. There's some Walgreens locations that hardly even greet you as you enter. Thank you so much for always providing top notch customer service to everyone that comes in. If you are looking for a place to fill prescriptions, be prepared to wait! It does help to go early (6-7 am), but all other times of the day, there will be a wait. The pharmacists are typically friendly, but not always. Other than that, the staff inside are very friendly and welcoming. read more

Worst Walgreens on the planet!!!!!! Stood in line inside for more than 40 minutes. Watch a employee at the register work with some who had to call home and have someone drop off payment. Their pharmacy told me my prescription would be ready in 25 minutes for over 2 hours. Eventually all the employees left for the night and nobody helped me. Multiple people kept insisting someone else was going to get it. The Advocate clinic here has misdiagnosed basic illnesses twice and his refused to examine me because they're afraid to admit their own wrongdoing. The nurses here are actively eating McDonalds hamburgers and drinking Dunkin Donuts sugary coffee drinks while they are seeing patients. It's unprofessional and unhygienic; disgusting. read more

The staff here-especially at the pharmacy are so incredibly nice...and patient! I stood in line next to an irrationally upset customer today who sat there screaming at one of their pharmacy techs, Krissy, about something completely out of her control. It was a computer system error that she and no one else could physically fix- but would be resolved in 24 hours. A very simple minor inconvenience; but this ignorant customer was livid and treating her horribly as a result. It caused a massive line that eventually led to a few customers standing up for Krissy and telling this man to leave her alone. This entire interaction lasted at least fifteen minutes and the entire time, Krissy was unbelievably kind and professional, apologizing profusely (even though it WASNT her fault!) while this man harassed her. The man left and she handled my transaction next. She ended up going above and beyond to help me with an insurance problem for my dogs seizure medication. She had just been emotionally beat up by this man and turned around and treated me with such kindness. She gave me her personal name and said if I ever had any issues with filling my dogs meds, I can ask to talk to her personally. THATS a dedication for your job. Thank you Krissy !! read more

They actually receive 0 stars. In the past year, I have never once spent less than 15 minutes in the pharmacy line. One day, I waited 30 minutes. Ridiculous. My most recent experience was the last straw. Walgreen's has lost me as a customer. My Dr. called in a Rx at 12:00pm. I never received confirmation that it was ready, so at 3 I called to check on it. I was told my Dr. didn't call it in. I know for a fact he did but called him again to check. He ensured me he did and mentioned how much he and his colleagues hate Walgreens. I call Walgreens again. This time I am told the Rx is there BUT it has no refills so they cannot give it to me. This was a NEW prescription so no refills made no sense to me. I wanted the initial Rx that my Dr. called in; a NEW prescription. I then was transferred to the pharmacist who said, "It has been filled and is waiting for pick-up." So, three different answers to the same question. I get to the pharmacy and go in since I didn't want to wait in the drive thru for 30 minutes. Ha! Had about a 10 minute wait inside as well. I was told my insurance info was not on file. Funny how I have gotten meds there numerous times and the insurance has always been on file. Finally I am told that insurance is on file but the Rx was called to a different pharmacy. I explained that was impossible since the on-call Dr. had me send him the phone number so he could click on it and call it in. They insisted it was somewhere else. I asked where, planning to get it wherever it supposedly was. They couldn't tell me where it was. Then, I'm told it actually was there but they couldn't run insurance because someone already had. Again, impossible. Of course they offered that I could pay out of pocket for it. My elderly mother needed the medication desperately so I had no other choice but to pay for it. After spending almost $100 and all the frustration, I didn't receive a thank you, or an apology. read more

My job requires me to travel out of country several times a month. Because of this I try to call the pharmacy before hand to confirm when I can pick up my prescriptions. 3 days prior I call the pharmacy and speak to a pharmacist because my doctor increased my medication dosage. The pharmacist said she had to call me back to confirm with my insurance that they will cover it. Several minutes later the pharmacist calls me back saying my insurance confirmed my medication and provided the day I can pick it up. 3 days later on the day the pharmacist provided I request a refill for my medication through the Walgreens app. That app initially said in progress then hours later it said delayed. I called the pharmacy and spoke to a pharmacist to confirm what's going on and she said I can't pick it up for 3 more days. Now for work I'm going to be out of the country for 8 days and I won't have my medication for most of the time. Not sure what's happening here but looking at other reviews this has happened to many other people before. No communication with misinformation. read more

I hate coming here to fill a prescription. It could be 2:00am and there's ALWAYS A LINE!!! Either in the store or in the drive thru. They do not staff enough people in the pharmacy. I do believe that the pharmacy people are doing their best, and because of the nature of their job, I certainly do not want anyone rushing to finish. But something has got to give. They may fill your refills promptly, but the line to get the medicine is a minimum 20 minute wait. read more

I always find what I need here as far as drug stores go. Prescriptions are always ready on time. Sometimes I have a little trouble finding what I need but as soon as I ask for help from one of the staff members, I find what I'm looking for. But Will who works as a cashier there is by far one of the most respectful, courteous and friendly employees there. Always greeting customers walking in the door, assisting when you can't find something and ALWAYS has a positive attitude. He really does set the bar when it comes to customer service. The pharmacy here is pretty quick and the staff is really nice. I love the fact that they are 24 Hours. I go here all the time to pick up my prescriptions. My daughter had thrown up here twice (sorry!) and the staff was more than generous to clean up. The store is always clean and the staff is always friendly. I used to really like the convenience of Walgreen's. However, over the past few months a number of products that I usually purchase or no longer in stock or they have dropped them completed. Two examples are any Tylenol product and Flent ear plugs. I travel a lot and Tylenol Cold and Flent ear plugs are a necessity if you get a cold or a noisy hotel neighbor. My last visit to this specific Walgreen's resulted in not finding what I wanted (again) and when I asked if the display may have been empty but there may be more in stock I never got a response. In fact I waited about 3 minutes and no one ever helped - even after the cashier paged for customer assistance. I have found that CVS stocks Tylenol so I'm going to start buying more from then. However, the Flent earplugs may become an online item only. But I'm still looking - not going to give up on the old brick and mortar stores just yet! read more

Went to the clinic at 6:25. Online it states they close at 7:00.after waiting for 10 minutes I finally saw 2employees in a room who I thought were socializing and asked if I could get a TB test. They told me they were closed and I would have to come back. Really, a TB test takes less then 1minute and neither of them were doing anything. If they close at 6:30they should but a rope up in front of the clinic so people know it's closed. They should also change their signs to reflect that even though they advertise they are open until 7 they don't take new people after 6.what a sham and total waste of my time. read more
