I recently changed to this pharmacy and when I called to get a refill on a prescription, the employee argued with me and said that I had not had any other prescriptions filled with them or transferred to them. He would not listen to what I had to say and was extremely disrespectful. He was absolutely rude. I went to my prescriptions and found one that had been transferred and filled. I am going to have to find a pharmacy which has respect for and listen to the patients like my private pharmacy that I had in Florida. Clearly the big chains don't care about the patients. read more

During my recent visit to CVS Pharmacy , I noticed a lack of a welcoming presence at the entrance, leaving customers without a greeting. Despite a reduced staff presence, those on duty were notably helpful, offering assistance when needed. The store's layout was well-organized, contributing to a seamless shopping experience. I appreciated the presence of good deals throughout the store, adding value to my purchases. However, a notable downside was observed on the right side of the entrance. Items were haphazardly placed, both in and out of a cart, with some products marked at a 50% discount. This aspect of the store appeared disorganized and created an unpleasant visual impression for customers entering. I was able to talk to the store manager, John, who was understanding and wonderful. Due to the corporate structure, I was advised what my next steps should be, and given the information I needed and work arounds for the mean time. Also used the Minute Clinic and the practitioner was wonderful. Apparently the only part of this CVS I have a problem with is the actual pharmacist. So, I'm keeping an open mind. read more

Everything I wanted was in stock and I found a bunch of clearance items for hair that I ended up buying. All was nicely organized, the location is clean & well stocked, plus the staff I encountered was very friendly. Nice young chap on the front register when I went last week! I called the store asking if they carried gait belts. The guy I spoke to wasn't sure so he went to check and told me they did. I ended the call before he could ask if I wanted him to hold it for me. I arrived to the store with within an hour of the phone call and went looking for the belt but couldn't find it so I found an employee, who turned out to be the one I had talked to. Without me asking him to do so, he took the initiative to pull the product from the shelf to hold it for me, not even knowing if I were going to show up or not. Very grateful! Thank you! read more

Since my last review in 2022, a new manager has taken over, who has worked very hard to successfully restore the outstanding customer service and friendly ambiance that I used to so appreciate. Additionally, the store is well maintained and inviting, with attractive displays of seasonal and new, interesting products. There are generally many items -- particularly vitamins and health related items-- being offered at tempting bargain prices. The manager and employees are warm, friendly, and extremely helpful if you need any kind of assistance. I am delighted to be able to give them my highest rating! read more

This CVS review is for the Minute Clinic. The place seems very new/updated. Their clinic looks clean, organized and very pleased to look at. The Pharmacy department also looked like they were up to speed with nice signs and flat screen TVS displaying info as well. I really enjoyed my visit here when I went. I had needed to take pop in quick to find a cure for what I thought was a common cold, but it turned out to be bronchitis, before I left for my honeymoon. Yes, so bad of me to wait for 2 days before leaving to Hawaii to check up on my sickness so of course, it was too short notice to see my general family doctor so CVS was perfect solution. Their Nurse Practitioner saw me and gave me prescriptions to fill which I did right there with the pharmacy. It was all a very convenient process. The nurse was very nice and gave me a follow up phone call the next day to make sure I was doing OK. The only thing I would say could use a little improvement is the waiting time to get in the clinic. I was only the 3rd person in line but it took about 50 minutes before i was seen. I guess with 15-20 minutes that the nurse spend with each patient, that's about right. I did personally got 15 minutes myself when I saw her. So again, it's a minor feedback but that's about the only thing I could "complain" about it. Other than that, the pharmacy drug fill took only about 10 minutes. The place looked immaculately clean and new so I had a very good impression upon coming here and would do it again if I need to though I hope I don't get sick again. P.S. Prices here overall seems a bit higher than Walgreens and other areas in terms of buying OTC drugs and just general items. But if it's convenient while you're there, well then what are you gonna do? read more

Do not go to this Minute Clinic.The Nurse Practitioner doesn't know what she's doing. I came in here recently because my gut told me I had a sinus infection. I get them annually and I know what they feel like. The NP misdiagnosed it as a common cold. After two long weeks of taking congestion meds and DayQuil/NyQuil, I went to go see an Allergy & Sinus specialist. Well guess freakin what? Turns out I do have a sinus infection. I got put on antibiotics that same day. The NP at this CVS not only set my health and livelihood back two weeks, but I was also unnecessarily taking cold meds as well. What a complete waste. Don't even bother. read more

Convenient and practical store. The parking lot is always chaotic, so just be careful when navigating that since the intersection it's on is very busy. The staff isn't terribly warm or welcoming, but the store is helpful to have when you need to pick something up from the drugstore. Be sure to sign up for CVS's rewards program since they are VERY generous in issuing coupons! I can't remember the last time I paid full-price for my purchase. read more

The Minute Clinic at this location is not very good. I felt that the nurse practitioner did not respect my wishes regarding my ailment. She treated my symptoms and not the source of my illness. Since it's a minute clinic I don't expect much, but for how much I had to pay I feel ripped off. I spent a ridiculous amount for medicine that didn't help at all. I went to a doctor and found that I was misdiagnosed by the nurse practitioner at CVS. I will never go to this Minute Clinic again. I think I'm just going to steer clear of CVS all together! read more

Awful! I'm done..... Every time, without fail, these pharmacists find some type of issue to bust my chops on. They really are the worst. It would be one thing if it was an isolated incident but every time they find something to argue about. For instance, I brought in a prescription a day early b/c I was going on vacation. My doctor didn't have a problem, my insurance didn't have a problem but the pharmacist there did. She's ridiculous and I'm done. I posted this same type of feedback a couple of years ago and yelp removed it saying that it was being taken down b/c they weren't sure the feedback was genuine. I assure you it was... The pharmacy is the best! Head Pharmacist Ilona Warcholek, R.Ph. is wonderful. She works incredibly hard to keep the pharmacy well-staffed with other excellent pharmacists and top-rate pharmacy techs. She is unfailingly friendly and helpful. Once I saw a movie in South Barrington with a friend. As we exited, he began to have an asthma attack, which he had not had for over a year. We called the Barrington CVS pharmacy and Ilona answered. Upon explaining the situation, she accessed my friend's prescription from another pharmacy chain, determined that he had a refill left, and promised to have it ready. We zipped over as quickly as we could and my friend took a dose right in the pharmacy with immediate good results. When we were leaving I happened to notice that it was a half hour past the pharmacy's closing time. Knowing we were coming, Ilona had stayed open just for this prescription. Without her kindness and professionalism, I would have had to take my friend to the Emergency Room. This is an incredibly busy pharmacy but the team is professional and friendly and they take the time that is needed to be helpful and answer any questions. Yes, that means that depending on how busy they are there may be a wait, but that is true of any pharmacy and this team goes above and beyond to make sure you have the information you need. read more

My review is for the pharmacy. Great staff and always friendly, but one employee in particular, Jennifer, stands out. I'm a regular there, and she is one of those people that goes over and above. I've had issues with prior authorizations, insurance companies misspelling names on our cards....she made the necessary phone calls to get correct information to make sure that our scripts got filled. She completely took the pressure off of me doing the leg work, which is always so helpful! She's great! read more

The hours listed are not the hours OPEN at the minute clinic!: There is a caveat. The caveat is, if you arrive, 30 minutes before closing and the nurse practitioner already has 2 patients, the computer refuses to accept your sign in. Very impersonal. No arguing with a computer and a closed door. But, I am a real person who busted tail to get to the clinic 30 minutes before closing, having called to make SURE I would arrive before closing. Medicine is a service industry, a caring industry. This was not caring. This was industrial and impersonal and FYI, I am even sicker this morning than I was last night. And yes, I know I could have driven even farther out of my way to take my chances at an "immediate" care center. read more

I think the other reviews are outdated. In general the pharmacy staff at this pharmacy is excellent. Ilona the head pharmacist will go out of her way for anyone. She also puts in additional administrative hours when needed. One time she kept the pharmacy open an extra 20 minutes because she knew a friend and I were on the way to get a rescue inhaler that had been called in because his asthma symptoms were acting up. We had just seen a movie and weren't even aware of the time or the pharmacy's hours. We just raced in. Only afterward did we realize the extra kindness and compassion Ilona had shown us. Like a lot of pharmacies there has been turnover among the junior staff - primarily new young techs. read more

This is by far the absolute worst place by far to get prescriptions filled. The pharmacists are rude and unaccomodating. Its as though they feel they are above you and if they want to jerk you around they will. If you don't believe me then check it out. You'll see after a few months.... " sorry, you're a day early...." Service has improved tremendously since they hired new physician. I'm treated with care and respect and diagnosed accurately ad is my family. For minor illnesses with no appointment needed, it's great to go here instead of waiting days at my regular doctor. However for more complicated issues I still go to my regular doctor. read more

Called pharmacy, and the pharmacist immediately put me on hold for 9 minutes, without even finding out first if I had a question she could answer quickly. When she finally got back on the line, I asked her my 5 second question--"do you have any flu vaccinations left?", and she said "no". I remarked that she had made me wait on the phone for 9 minutes when it would have only taken her a few seconds to answer my question, and asked why? She was very rude, "I had customers here". When I said that the phone callers are also customers, her reply was "I was busy, what do you expect me to do!" in a very angry, rude tone! Unacceptable customer service! I have had nothing but positive experiences with this pharmacy. The prescriptions are always filled promptly and efficiently. Any questions I have are answered professionally and correctly. Sometimes people have trouble because of the insurance restrictions which is not the fault of the pharmacist. I'm a very satisfied customer. read more

I really don't understand why anyone would give this pharmacy a bad rating. We've been going to this CVS since this location has opened. These pharmacists work very hard and are very professional. They take time to say hello and address us with a "Hello Mr or Mrs (last name)". I never wanted any pharmacist to know me by my name because I was brought up that having to be on meds was a bad thing. But after a bunch of sports-related injuries in the family (ACL surgery in the house!) and sick dogs, I'm comfortable with knowing my pharmacist and them knowing me. Llona, Vipani and the team do a great job of making it a comfortable place to get meds (and needles for my diabetic dog!). My family have utilized the Minute Clinic a few times and it's been professional and effective each time. The cashiers up front are very friendly too. We go to this store about twice a week. The "bucks" on the receipts are a family favorite! read more
