I've been to this 7-11 several times and there is one particular employee (works at night) that is very ignorant, and borderline rude.
1: I went in to get a bag of ice, that was all. She was working the lottery machine for a customer in front of me AND trying to have a coversation about donuts and being messy with another employee who appeared to just be starting her shift. I was the only one in line as I sat there for 2 full minutes. By the time the other employee was set up, there were 6-7 others in line and she still wasn't done with the lottery guy.
2. I waited for her to help two girls in front of me buy a pack of cigarettes. The literally paid for them with ALL coins. OK, I realize that is not her fault. She was making small talk with them though, and taking her sweet time counting out the change. Even stopped to get a napkin for one girl to get her phone number or info. Then, after the sale was complete, the girls asked for to exchange MORE coin for bills, and she had to count out three more dollars worth.
3. I had two bottles of soda and a bag of ice. She seemed preoccupied, scanned my items, and then turned around and started stocking cigarretes. As she turned she mumbled "just swipe your card" or something to that affect. Didn't even bother to see if my card was approved NEVER turned back around while I was in the store, and there were others in line. Not to mention she NEVER even offered me a bag for my two bottles of soda, which would be fine if I didn't have the ice as well. Granted, I managed, but a bag would have made it easier.
It stinks because the store is so close to our new house, and it makes for an easy run to pick up something random or soda/ice. Every time I go in and see her I want to leave. I have already started to find reasons to go to Jewel instead, which is about another 1.5 miles away.
NOTE: The address of this 7-11 is actually 600 E. Route 22, Lake Zurich.
Not to disrespect any convenient store workers, but I understand that the expectations of who you deal behind the counter have to be lowered some. But this employee takes poor service to a new level. read more
