Today I drove down to Antioch for the first time. I've known about this store for several years but…read morethought it was closer to Chicagoland versus just across the WI/IL border. I can only speak for the whiskey. The selection is huge with plenty of barrel picks from which to choose. I found the prices to be very fair, and there's no "secondary market" pricing that has been cropping up in retail locations in the last few years. Today there was a spirits event at their bar in the middle of the store. About a dozen vendors were pouring various spirits, mostly whiskey, and it was very professional with knowledgeable brand representatives/ambassadors. Also, if you're a whiskey geek like me, there's a sealed cabinet with all sorts of full old and pre-Prohibition bottles of whiskey to admire. If you're in the Antioch area, you'll definitely want to stop here and take a peek. Cheers!

There's a whole lot to choose from whether you're puffing or sipping. Better prices than most places around here. It's advertised as being close to the lake, which it is. There's a small parking lot here, kind of annoying to get in and out. Anyway, the actual prices and selection make this worth looking into. There's bottles of liquors about $11 or so. Ok prices to be honest. There's also pretty cheap prices on tobacco and smoking kinds of things. Has useful items for pretty cheap. It's one of the few good liquor stores around here. They have stuff for you to drink, smoke, and whatever.

I got texts reading "Hi Michelle (my friend), Andrew is approaching, please have your ID ready. " She's in her 60's but had to run upstairs to get her ID. I've order a ton of things online and have never run into this. I understand why you wouldn't want to deliver alcohol to teens but this was a little different. We are the same age and I'm never carded in CA. As I said I paid for the purchase online so I don't think she should have had to prove her identity and/or age. The only reason I gave Garfield's four instead of 5 stars was this little imposition.

I'm not sure how Binny's manages to have such cheap prices but have the best staff you can get in a liquor store. Staff are very nice and conversational, if you come across someone stocking the shelf and just want to get some advice on beverages they are happy to give recommendations. It's quite nice to go here when they are giving out free samples, it's a fun hour spent drinking a variety of new things and it's free. I've gone on sample day and walked out without buying anything and nobody gave me any dirty looks or anything. I like how they are happy to serve you some free drink and don't pressure you to buy, sometimes I want to be able to sleep on a decision to buy a whole bottle of something that I might seldom use in my average drinking. The store is very clean and stocked to the gills with every beverage you can imagine. Binny's truly lives up to its slogan. "If you can't find it at Binny's it's probably not worth drinking!"

So I'm in NYC looking for cheap beer. I go to Yelp and put in Dive Bars. Bingo! So in that spirit I…read morewould recommend Club 18. It has cheap tap beer, no frills, tons of locals, loud music (sometimes Spanish, sometimes Blues, rock, etc) and raucous Bears and Cub/Sox sport watching. Pool seems very popular but I'm not a fan. No food to get in the way of the drinking here. Although on Bears game days, some of the best food I've ever eaten is available for free with beverage purchase. Scary does describe some people, I'll admit, but it's funny how cheap beer has a bonding effect even of the most intimidating people. I've met several that ordinarily wouldn't give me the time of day. It's all good.

We were searching for a spot that had a 'Touch Tunes" jukebox so we could continue our party outside, which they had. Drinks were flowing, shots were fun, someone offered a game of pool to which they paid and who doesn't like a free game?! We made a couple friends and ended up invited people to our table. Club 18 is a hole in the wall / dive bar. Bring an optimistic attitude, don't expect too much and be prepared to supply your own fun. We're looking forward to going back with a small group of friends again very soon!
