I was on my way to Jacksonville, FL when I decided to stop at a local gas station. The gas station…read morewas not in the best looking part of town. Streetlights were flashing; the station's sign was not even working. There were about 10 of homeless people just walking up and down the street that the gas station was on. I walked into the filthy, run down store, and asked where the bathrooms were. The store clerk appeared to be homeless himself. He needed a haircut and a shaven. The clerk was wearing a torn flannel shirt with ripped up blue jeans. I walked into the bathrooms and they were surprisingly clean! All the walls looked like they had just been painted, and the floors were spotless. I finally walked back into the store and was hit by how filthy the store was, and then I asked myself why were the bathrooms so clean? I just went on about my business and made a pass through the store looking around. I picked up a Mountain Dew and a bag of Lays potato chips. I made my way back to the counter and placed my drink and chips on the sticky counter and paid for my items including twenty-five dollars worth of gas. I walked out the doors and still was in amazement about why the bathrooms were so clean, but I still carried on and went and pumped my gas outside. While pumping my gas I just watched the massive amounts of homeless people walking up and down the streets and thought to myself how blessed I am. In a way, that changed my view on a lot of things in life. I have a lot of things that I take for granted and I should not. So I purchase another $11 car wash to get gas discount. Afore mentioned car wash is now a 30 day credit for another wash. Show up last day of credit and wash is broken. Asked for an extension on wash, manager says we need to go to another location that day. How unprofessional and inconvenient. Terrible customer skills and appreciation. Great way to lose local business and direct us across the street to Speedway.

The store is well organized and has a pleasant aesthetic. I was grateful to find good variety in terms of food options. I had a good experience with some red bell peppers and Fuji apples I got there that were delicious and nutritious. Their prepared food options were fantastic. It was nice knowing I could count on a Whole Foods for good food. This has been one of my favorite Whole Foods stores in the Chicagoland area/suburbs.

Christmas Eve was a disaster as they had changed everything in order to accommodate customers picking up Catering orders. I assume their kitchen was quite busy, so they had no prepared foods in the hot bar and no fresh pizza slices out. I was here for the one and only reason I ever come here - to get my Amazon return done. My husband dies enjoy grabbing a slice or two while I do my returns, and was unable to. This is a review about the service station in this gas station…read more This place is like a diamond in the rough! The guy who works there knows what he's doing and he doesn't make things complicated. Unlike other repair places that make you replace things that don't even need replacing, this guy only fixes what needs to be fixed. He doesn't oversell you or lie to you about problems and that to me is very important when looking for a mechanic. You can tell that this guy actually works for his money because he's a greasemonkey, unlike the "clean mechanics" at every other place I've been to. Also, this guy accepts you bringing in your own parts and he will install it for you. So those of you who get your own parts online or somewhere, this is the guy you want to come and see. Also, he has a 16.95 oil change service and a "cheaper than the competition" synthetic oil change service as well. Again, bring in your own oil and filter and he'll charge you only for the service. So I highly recommend everyone with car issues to come to this little gem. It may not look pretty and clean, but real mechanics are always dirty...in a good way ;D P.S: He's a busy guy, so there may be times when he is out. Just give them a call ahead of time if it's for repair-based work. Oil change is just drive in and done. They also have towing service.
