After reading the reviews, all I can say is that some expectations of a walgreens are really off. My prescriptions have always been filled in a timely manner. I have only had pleasant experiences with the cashiers. Other store staff have always been helpful when I have shopped here. This isn't Nieman Marcus, so maybe adjust your expectations. read more

Several problems I encountered on 2/28/2023 at this Walgreens: 1. Only one drive up lane open. The outer one has been closed for several weeks! 2. When you get close to the window you're trapped in your car, because there's another car right behind you, a curb on the right, and a wall on the left, so can't open the door. 3. You remain trapped if the car at the window is just sitting at the window with nothing happening for a HALF an HOUR! 4. I was trying to pickup two medicines that the Surgeon who had performed a ballon sinuplasty earlier that day, had ordered. He told me to take it easy that day. I had to take my wife to the hospital that afternoon and since my nose was bleeding again, I told her to tell them we are in a hurry. When she got done, we headed straight to the pharmacy. 5. I decided to not go in the store, because I was dripping blood everywhere! 6. With no way out of the drive-through, I started laying on the horn and shouted out the window that I was bleeding! 7. I even considered ramming my truck into the blocking car. 8. I pictured the news story about a man bleeding to death in the only operating drive up lane at a Lake Zurich Walgreens, while trapped for over an hour, despite his screaming for help and honking his horn! 9. I guess that blowing the horn worked, because he finally pulled out. 10. When I got to the window, I yelled that I'm bleeding and to hurry up. It took less than a minute and I was on my way home. 11. I blame upper management for creating a dangerous situation. read more

I have been a customer of this Walgreens store for about 22 years, and about 15 years for their pharmacy. The staff is friendly and helpful. When I inquire about the locality of a product, they typically go out of their way to show me where it is, instead of simply telling me the aisle in which to look. That is really nice. The pharmacy is nearly always busy, and I am impressed how they can keep up with the near-constant flow of customers. I have always been treated well and have also seen other customers treated well, even under difficult circumstances. If I need an Rx filled quickly, I can usually have that done in 15 minutes! The only ding that I will give the store is because I witnessed a pharmacist talking down to one of the techs. It was done in front of customers, very rude, and very uncalled for. I felt so sorry for the tech that I spoke to the store manager about the incident. read more

Went here for the health clinic, but the doc steps out at around 1pm. They don't tell you that when you call the automated answering system. So I had to turn the car around, not impressed. The store itself also doesn't look clean. The pharmacy section looks messy and the sign in computer system was old. End of story, I looked up a CVS Minute Clinic within 5 miles instead which seems to be more cleaner and has a better system going on. read more

Nasty, rude and incompetent. This pharmacy is HORRENDOUS. You are on your own to clean up after their mistakes. They lose prescriptions, delete prescriptions, can't even properly read their own computers. If you have a problem with this, too bad: "Don't argue with us" they told me (after informing me that a tech screwed up and deleted my script that I've been waiting on for months, which staff had promised me a phone call when it arrived). I spoke to a manager about the mistakes and terrible service, who said I'd be better off going ANYWHERE ELSE because this pharmacy so poorly run. I felt bad for her. read more

I have to tell you, this pharmacy is just awful. They they never have an adequate supply, need you to call around to find them elsewhere and never offer any help. They just sent a Catholic nun away without her medicine because they're too busy to be bothered. What's the point in having a Netwerk of pharmacies if they can't work together to find them for us. Absurd lack of appreciation for the patient. The healthcare industry talks a lot about patient experience. Walgreens needs to do the same. I'd like to call this to the attention of the CEO of Walgreens. Why don't you check your mission and culture. Awful! read more

Clinic employees are inept. Same insurance same number for the last 3 years. Insurance company website shows the same account number as the card yet they can't get me in the system. I'm already in the system, been here before. Oh but we got a new system... Well maybe it's you system's problem? Called insurance, number on the card is valid. So they just want to charge me as a non-insurance patient and let me deal with getting it covered.. I'll go somewhere else. read more

At times I had to go in and ask pharmacist to actually look at their computer, alas, she discovers the good Dr did call it in. Today however, over the phone, she would not look it up. Hung up on me. Coming to this Walgreens has officially become an annual thing for me. Every year around the February 18th I find myself doing the haul to Island Lake, Illinois to attend the birthday party of my cousin's once 2, then 3, now 4 year-old daughter, who is, of course, a peach, and deserving of many gifts. So anyway, my cousin and I are less than two months apart in age, she being just a hair older. We grew up together, had the best sleepovers, jokes, drives for no reason, adventures and more. We're both pretty similar people, but also very, VERY different and I wouldn't say that our families ever compared the two of us, the I did constantly hear at my house that J had gotten all 'A's', and our Grandmother would always have to make some sort of comparison between which of us was skinnier, taller, had bigger boobs... you know, the usual weird grandma stuff, and on my cousin's wedding day, where I was a bridesmaid, my Dad (whose brother is my cousin's father) gave her a congratulatory hug, told her how beautiful she looked and said something along the lines of, 'If only I could have a daughter like that'... or something to that effect while I was sitting right next to her. It sounds crueler than it actually was as that's the just the dark humor my Dad has. My part of the 'G' family isn't known for having particularly warm or emotional hearts and our sense of humor is, well, not understood by many. So anyway... we're all grown up now. She won the title of tallest, thinnest, most beautiful, but I did end up taking the bigger boob title, and I'm okay with that. I'm not one for commitment having had a nearly decade-long relationship where even moving in together was a 'never going to happen' or 'maybe in the next decade' scenario, I'm not fan of children and never want my any of my own and marriage, well, yeahhhh, it's probably not for me either... plus, I'm broke. She, on the other hand, has been married for almost decade now, finishing up nursing school, owns a house and just gave birth to her second and third children (a set of twin boys) last April. Basically, she's got responsibility on lock and I have three cats and work "on the internet", as my grandmother calls it. What does all this have to do with one Walgreens in Lake Zurich? Well, for the past 3 years I've gone to this children's birthday party out in Island Lake and of course, I was running late every.single.time because I just can't manage to get my sh*t together and totally forgot either a card, any kind of gift wrap, or both and this en-route Walgreens has totally saved my ass so I don't look like the total failure grandchild in front of my Grandmother. the first year I needed a card, the second I needed a gift bag and tissue paper (of which the sell in a pre-made set for WAY easy gifting, and this year I made the mistake of buying a gift that came in absolutely enormous box that was pretty much too big for even a hefty bag to act as a present-disguiser, so I had to buy not only wrapping paper but also tape and scissors and attempt to wrap the car in the passenger seat as my children's party accomplice drove pedal-to-the-metal to the destination. In addition to saving my ass, their customer service is friendly, they make appropriately-length-ed eye-contact, the girl at the register was absolutely beautiful and they sell booze... which is much appreciated being the degenerate grandchild that I've turned out to be. read more

I gave up using the pharmacy after I learned that Walgreens charges more for prescription. Go to Costco they're usual cheaper than Osco. I used the app to buy some products for curbside pickup and an order that should have generated Walgreens cash didn't. I wasted 30 minutes trying to explain what happened but because they couldn't see the flyer with the promotion I was out of luck. They acted like I was trying to rip them off for $4. If you have to go to a Walgreens try the one on Northwest Hwy in Barrington. read more

Pharmacy here is terrible. Nobody knows what's going on. Third month in a row they've been out of the medication for my daughter. They don't call they don't send an email or text letting you know. They tell me it's on backorder but the Walmart down the street filled it in 20 mins I have moved all my prescription there. read more

On the days when I can't scrounge up a breakfast or really need an afternoon pick-me-up I like stopping here. Mostly because it is the closest store to my office and it is a reliable source of caffeine and candy. It's also right on the way to our other building and sometimes that drive just deserves a reward like a Snicker's bar. Am I right? Don't question me. This store opens at 7 am and since I'm hardly ever at work before then it always open when I need it. Walgreens doesn't have the largest selection but I can always count on them to have Arizona iced tea in the large cans. And usually they are on sale. The food selection isn't always great and the prices are a little inflated but I usually can find something on sale. The cashiers are always friendly and I've never had to wait. And I would highly recommend signing up for their rewards card. I've already gotten enough points to get $5 off and I don't shop there that often. read more

This pharmacy drive through is a continual disappointment. At least 4 times in the past year, when I go to pick up my prescription I am told to come back in 30-60 minutes, despite having already allowed over an hour for staff to fill the Rx. Each time it's a different excuse. I wish this pharmacy was not so convenient, as will need to travel further for another. The store itself is great. read more

I have to admit, I love Walgreens! If I could do all of my shopping here, I totally would! This particular Walgreens has friendly, helpful employees. I moved my prescriptions to Target because they are cheaper, the pharmacist still answers questions. The only thing that would make this store better would be to be open 24 hours and to have the grocery store in it like some of the Walgreens in the area have. read more

The pharmacy workers are extremely unhelpful. I have rarely gone there and not had a problem with my prescription. They often call and say an order is ready when it is not and they have never apologized for making mistakes and wasting my time. read more

They need more people in the pharmacy. I repeatedly have to wait 20 minutes plus at the drive-thru because they have only one person working the register. I believe this is dangerous because they are putting a lot of stress on the person working and mistakes can be made. read more

I visited the store this afternoon. It was an unecessarily painful experience. I was simply in to pick up a prescription. I got in line and waited about 7 minutes with one woman in front of me and a older gentlemen at the counter arguing with a employee about his insurance. Behind the pharmacy counter were 4-5 other employees who I am certain were trained to NOT make eye contact with customers. Literally would not even acknowledge us in line and were within 10 feet. By the time I was helped, there were five more people in line. When I walked to the front of the store, there were five more people in the front of the store in one check out line. Two manager looking women were chatting in one of the aisles with another employee wandering around the photo counter. At least 10 employees in this store during this time avoiding contact and making customers wait in line. Just pathetic. I will be moving my business. read more

Pharmacy employees look stressed out. Pharmacy took 40 min for an inhaler?! I finally asked for the status and they said it was ready. They never called my name. I also had passport pictures taken that came out blurry. Recommend going elsewhere for a more positive experience. read more

I have yet to have a good experience at the pharmacy here and I've been more than 5 times. They're slow, they never have anything ready no matter if I call or try and do it online, and they have told me (through text) a prescription is ready when it actually was not. Go somewhere else unless you like sitting around waiting. I keep wondering if it's a ploy to get me to shop around and buy something I don't need. The one nice thing is how nice the staff is. They're very friendly, helpful and knowledgable. read more

Went to the clinic originally for a sinus infection, the lovely NP (young) spent a long time with me and sent me home with an antibiotic. When the antibiotic finished, I got sick again 3 days later. I immediately went back to the clinic thinking the first antibiotic just didn't kick the original sinus infection to the curb. I saw the other NP (older) who told me that I had allergies. I argued with her that I had never had allergies a day in my life, and that it was unlikely since I was sick immediately after the antibiotics stopped. She sent me home with a nasal spray and allergy pills. 2 weeks later I went to a REAL doctor and was diagnosed with pneumonia. I've never had a healthcare experience this poor in my life. I will NOT go back to this clinic and I encourage everyone else to steer clear too. read more
