Had to fill a prescription last night at around 1:00am and I remembered how amazing this Walgreens used to be so I dropped in. Handed over my 'script to the pharmacist who was a very nice and helpful woman. They needed to update my address since it had been so long since I was there last and attempted to add my insurance but the "system was down" or something and I was told to come back at 2:30am when it was re-booted. Ehh not great but okay. I come back later and run over a glass bottle which exploded like an IED and did literally send glass shards flying in all directions in their very front parking space in full view of the counter and door and now have glass embedded in my tire. The very front spot. Visible from the inside. Nobody thought to remove a bottle. Trash. From their own lot. Right outside their front door. Right next to a trashcan. Nobody? I go in already pissed and the pharmacist tells me they don't take my insurance but I could wait until morning to go to (insert list of places that does) or pay out of pocket. Why would you not check to see if Walgreens accepts my insurance when you were adding it in the first time and have saved me the added time in pain waiting for a 'script fill and saved me the money out of pocket being basically forced into a situation where I either have to cough it up (literally and figuratively last night) or continue suffering? Real nice woman but that one oversight not checking the insurance at the time I first handed it to her cost me more time in pain and over $100 more out of pocket. Asked the kid who was supposedly the manager why nobody thought to clear the glass bottles in the parking lot on my way out. He told me he dosen't think Walgreens owns the parking lot so it's not their problem. read more

Completely incompetent pharmacy. Said they had my daughter's prescription. My mom went to pick it up for her and they said they did not have it and sent her to another pharmacy who of course did not have it and sent her back. Again they told her they did not have it so she went home. When I called them to ask what had happened they informed me that they had it. At this point it was too late and I could not leave again for schedule reasons. My infant daughter is now going an extra day without her medicine thanks to this Walgreens. read more

My wife and I stopped at Walgreens to purchase a few items on our way home. This location is very busy which is a good thing, however their service is horrible. We asked the lady at the front if we could use the restroom and she rudely said that it was out of order. There is no sign on the door stating that it is out of order or anything to indicate that it is but she was quick to tell us that we were shit out of luck literally. There are a lot of carts with items on them in the middle of the aisles waiting to be stocked on the shelves. With unemployment growing one could logically think that it would be possible to find someone who would be able to stock these shelves. It would also be logical to think that with the amount of volume that the store does they could afford to have employees to stock the shelves and get a plumber to fix the "out of order" restroom. read more

I had the worst experience at the photo department today. I came in to collect an order that I placed online. The lady serving me was incredibly rude and basically refused to search for the order. I tried to give her the order number and she claimed that that wouldn't work, even though I had an email saying my order was ready for pickup. Eventually, after me standing there for 10 min and her ignoring me, she looked at the boxes by the cash register and found the box with my name on it. No apology. This is the store I choose to do business with due to the fact that they are open 24hours and also have a Pharmacy that's open 24hours with a drive-thru. That is what keep's me going back here, its no different from any other Walgreen's that I've been in but its down the hill from my house and convenient. Today for some reason the woman at the Pharmacy must have had a large crapper stuck up her a-hole cause she was acting like her shiznit didn't stink, well let me tell you it did and bad!!! Look at my review history if you want. A one star review is hard to get from me, you have to earn that sh*t. Walgreens, congratulations, you earned it! Get there in the afternoon to get a wedding card. Grabbed it in 30 seconds and pop into line, behind two people. These two people literally took more than 5 minutes to check out with minimal items. There was one older associate working the counter, and a younger associate watching him from behind, I don't know if he was training... I don't care to be honest. While I'm waiting in line ~5 ft. behind customers at the counter, ya know, to give some privacy because people sometimes buy embarrassing items at a pharmacy... another customer comes up and asks "Are you in line?" I Give him the standard "Yep" even though I'm thinking "Nah man, I love standing at Walgreens very close to the check-out counter." Then a second one does the same damn thing to that guy who just did it, and then me. Mind.Blown. Zombie Apocalypse. After waiting for 5 minutes behind these two people trying to check out, another associate comes up and says "the cosmetic check out area is open"... I'm thinking to myself, there's no way I just sat here watching the slowest transactions in history to just give up my spot in line and go to another counter. But I say "Thank you" in a normal tone because I don't suck as a human being and offered the option of switching lines to the people behind me...a mistake. They decide it's hopeless in this line and go. They made the right decision. They were out of there before me. The zombies win. I finally leave with the card after taking maybe 30 seconds at the counter. I'll cut the older associate some slack, one of the customers paid with a damn check. He was also very polite, though he did not simply say, "Sorry for the wait." Probably would have bought you star number two. Seriously though, figure out a solution to checking people out expediently before my face starts melting in frustration. Please Walgreens, do yourself a favor and stop accepting checks. My daughter is 5 months pregnant and has been a type 1 diabetic since she was 7 years old and her life and now the life of my unborn grandson depends on her insulin. We had requested a refill for her insulin and the pharmacist Zahra Karmshahi said that the cost of her insulin with insurance at a usual copay went from $30 and our copay was going to be $1,086.93 and then said she would sell her one vile of insulin for $289, but we explained to her over and over that the copay was $30. She refused to fill the insulin or give her name. She was rude and unprofessional and my daughter has been getting her insulin from Walgreens her whole life. We called Express Script who said they would help us refill the prescription, but went above and beyond and called the pharmacist Zahra and confirmed with her that our copay was only $30 and that my daughter was in desperate need of her insulin since she wouldn't have enough to make it through the night, because of the cost that she was quoting us of $1086.93. The representative was in shock that Zahra acknowledged the copay of $30, but said my daughter will have to wait and pick it up the next day, because she is too busy to fill it now, even though we had went early enough to get this prescription filled and the doctor also called to make sure that my daughter received her insulin for her and the baby. The representative worked with me to find another Walgreens that was open 24hours with this California shut down and the risks my daughter was facing, being out to this unknown virus. We were able to get the prescription filled at the Walgreens in El Cajon city, which is over an hour from my daughter who is housed on Camp Pendleton. So to not take any more risks for my daughter who now is nearly out of insulin, because the pharmacist refused to fill it at the Oceanside Walgreens on 3752 Mission Avenue I finally got her, her insulin at midnight as her blood sugars were already high. I will also report this to the Department of Consumer Affairs, Walgreens Corporation and on here. Thank you Walgreens in El Cajon for filling my daughters prescription for the right about and the copay knowing that my daughters life and unborn grandson life depends on it! read more

Especially just because it's on the website, has big 24 hr signs on every side of the building, and another little cation even directs you there at 9:00 at night. They are all in ca hoots. This is the worst Walgreens pharmacy I have ever been to!! They are rude ever time I go and so slow. The pharmacy employees have a huge attitude almost every time I go like they hate their job. I'm sitting in line in the drive thru right now and it's been over 20 min and not one car has moved. It's crazy. Last time I came they rang up my prescription wrong as a partial fill and when I came back to pick up the remainder I ended up paying more because of their mistake of how they ran it through my insurance when they assured me that wouldn't happen. The head pharmacist couldn't figure out how to fix it and I've done lots of partial fills for years and never had a problem. After 30 min of having them try and figure it out I just paid the 30 day fill price which my insurance charges more for and just left to get out of here. They are incompetent. The pharmacy staff is very rude. They had my prescription 3 weeks before it needed to be refilled. When refill time came they did not have stock. I had to wait an additional 2 weeks to get my prescription. I told them I was going to change pharmacies because they never have my prescription ready when I needed it. I guess there's a reason why this store got 2 stars and that's really hard to do unless everyone that's rating the store is giving them 1 or 2 stars. My experience with the Pharmacy has been horrible the last three or four times I've been there today in front of a crowd of people they tell me that my insurance dropped me. Long story short and after they ran it twice I finally get someone who knows what they are doing but still has the personality of a frog finally processes it but still tells me it's my fault for not giving them the right insurance card and that my insurance has a "pharmacy" card that I should have given them. Okay well I've been going here for 10 years with the same exact insurance and nothing has changed so the fact that they didn't have the information in their system is not my fault and I shouldn't have been blamed in front of other customers. Seriously if you don't want to be in customer service then go find a job where you don't have to interface with people. Such a disappointment. Walgreens is a joke. A bad joke. Their automated voice response system is awkward to use and dispenses inaccurate information. If a prescription is not picked up within their time frame, it is put back on the shelf. An example. A Predaxa prescription (a blood thinner whose absence can result in a stroke) was called in a month ago. Because I had received samples from my doctor, I didn't need it at that time. So it just disappears. A current prescription was called in today by an on-call physician. The automated system said it would be ready at 11:30am. A subsequent call a 2:00pm resulted its status as still being "in process". A discussion with a human in the pharmacy resulted in the info that the drug was not in stock. A call from this human to a nearby Walgreens found stock of the drug. I was originally told the prescription would be ready sometime today. I insisted on knowing a specific time. I was told 30 minutes. We shall see. I think I should call a human at that pharmacy before I head out to pick it up. If I can get thru the automated answering system. read more

This has to be one of the worst, most rude pharmacies I've ever been to. I was lied to by the actual pharmacist (a woman) about why my insurance rejected the prescription. She told me my doctor was not covered and literally threw my prescription back at me and walked away. Because the prescription is a schedule II drug, I cannot call around on my own to see which pharmacy has it. I was told hours earlier by the woman herself that I could have the pharmacist call around for me to see who carries it. When I asked her to do that, I was yelled at. So I called my insurance while at the pharmacy to see what was going on and they said that Walgreens hasn't been covered for a while due to then being unwilling to negotiate to insurance rates. She had told me my doctor was not covered in my plan, which is not only a bald faced lie, but wouldn't matter because pharmacy and doctor are separate. So they had me sit at wait from 9pm until 10pm, the time all other pharmacies in the area close, telling me they accepted my insurance when they did not, then refusing to help me later and insulting me so far as to lie, throw paper at me and yell at me. Finally, and uncharacteristically...I lost my cool and yelled back, got a manager than the witch changes her attitude. Lied to her manager about her responses to me and fakes nice and helpful calling already closed pharmacies or those without my prescription. So here I am I, I need to travel tomorrow yet I'm without a necessary medication to handle a severe illness. If this is how people in control of others health treat people...the world is going to hell rapidly. I will never enter this store again, not even for a pack of gum. Thankfully there are definitely much nicer pharmacist out there. I mean Oceanside is ghetto anyway still...hopefully gentrification will fix this mess over time. read more

The worst customer service I've ever encountered at a pharmacy. If you have to call, you're lucky if anyone answers the phone. After waiting for a long time and finally having it ring to the pharmacy, someone picks up but often doesn't say anything but puts you back on hold. Then you keep being put on hold until you get disconnected. If someone actually answers, you get attitude saying you should use the app. I told the rude, abrupt lady I have been using the app to check but it's been 6 days and I'm about to run out of my pills. The only thing she says is how busy they are with Covid vaccines. I finally got her to check and see what was going on and come to find out they had to order the meds but no one placed the order. This is the 3rd month in a row of dealing with this crap. The manager at this Walgreens needs to put people who need their medication first and make sure we're being taken care of. Also, please hire people who know what customer service means. A huge requirement is being able to multitask. Frankly, all the employees I have encountered there need to go stock shelves at Walmart instead. You have zero customer service skills. Slowest pharmacy ever... put my prescription in at 4:00, they said that it would be done at 5:30, waited around for a whole hour and a half. Went to pick up the order at 5:40, and they said that the order wouldn't be ready until 5:30 (keep in mind it's 10 minutes past 5:30), we told them that it's past 5:30 and then she said it would be ready in another 20 minutes... we waited and then they gave me only partial of my prescription so I have to go back in 3 days to receive the other part of my prescription. This is a very busy pharmacy that can have long waits just due to sheer volume. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. They amazingly remain courteous to the incredibly rude clientele that darken their doorsteps. This is a smaller than most Walgreens and seems to often be a bit disogranized and cluttered. However, its shining trait is it is 24 hours! Gotta love that. As a member of Walgreens points program it pays to review the circulars and purchase items promoted and/or on sale. Often the stock here is depleted on sale items which gets frustrating and the store organization is a little lacking. Be awake at the check out because many advertised and offered sales items do not ring up appropriately. Be extra vigilant about checking your items prices on the shelf against what is charged at check-out. There is a mistake EVERY SINGLE TIME I shop here - which is at least twice a week. read more
