Just had to highlight the exceptional customer service and forethought that Julie has at this location. The last time I was in, I needed to pick up some bags of bleach because they were out of stock online and there was a sale going on. Not only did she pull the last remaining inventory she had, but she did this within the last 15 minutes of the day and had it ready and waiting for me. She made it seem so easy and effortless as she listed off the other savings and coupons I could use on the purchase. THE ULTIMATE WORST LOCATION!!! Warning, if you get the lady named Shamar expect to get the WORST AND I MEAN WORST customer service experience ever. She's is BEYOND rude, eye rolled at me numerous times and talks with a condescending tone of voice that is so inappropriate for an employee at a well known business. I'm only giving 2 stars because the staff is great .... BUT the computer system SUCKS!!! When it's ACTUALLY working it's so so slow... and most of the time it's down which means the poor employees have to hand write down all of our products. Constantly making me run late for my clients. Today i came in with 50 minutes before my client was arriving which should be sufficient enough time given my shops only 10 minutes away but NOPE! been standing in line over 20 minutes now... salon centric you are a HUGE company and should have this lingering problem solved by now! read more

Just an FYI: You must have an industry license to shop here. They sell brands that armstrong-McCall doesn't and vice-versa so they are not competing companies. The store is well stocked, large, has goos lighting and is always clean. I was excited to find that they are retailers of Pureology which I was on the hunt for since I no longer go to my Eufora salon. Also, I was happy to see Essie polish at SC since I mainly have OPI and Gelish purchased from AM. However, I've found that the basics like foil, gloves, bowls, etc are a bit pricer than Armstrong's. Despite the price point difference the biggest turn off for me is that whenever I ask questions about a product I'm interested in but not familiar the staff has not been able to give an answer and once or twice received an attitude. I've also been shopping and overheard employees talking badly about others who weren't working which always feels unprofessional to me when you have customers. Overall it's a great supply store if your in need of the products they carry and I don't have enough experience with them to give a full negative opinion I find that I still favor Armstrong's for my needs. read more

The girl freaked out saying I needed to leave the store bc I was not a professional. I expressed that I understood but should wouldn't even be able to price or even co firm they have somethin in stock? She then asked my stylists name... Are you joking? How in the world would that be applicable let alone why would she ask this??? It was humorous since she almost had a brain vein pop over a simple question. Extremely rude. I just moved to California and this was my first time at Salon Centric. I use to frequent Armstrong back home and Salon Centric seems to be very similar. They had everything I was looking for and of course, at lower prices than Sallys. Perks of being a licensed professional! But my main review goes to the cashier who was super friendly. She helped me decide which wax kit to get and even told me her personal experiences so her recommendation really helped. Definitely will be coming back for my other beauty needs. read more

OKAY so this is an establishment that caters to LICENSED PROFESSIONALS. If you don't have a license you have no business looking at the inventory or the prices. As far as the staff having knowledge of the products, as a professional it's your job to know how to formulate color, and try products to give your clients advice. I have been able to ask about what they carry and get pointed in the direction of some new products to try however at the end of the day it's my job to use them correctly. Rating a store that I get a discount at is kind of hard.. Don't get me wrong, I love shopping at a discounted price.. But I find that the prices at Armstrong Maccall are much cheaper and they always have way better promotions then Salon Centric. Besides that, every time I have gone in here the staff is never knowledgable about their product. My FAVORITE line of shampoo and container, I can't buy!!? This is the worst professional store I have EVER shopped at. They never have seasonal promotions, they constantly change their hours and days of operations, and their selection is "poor" to put it nicely. They dont even sell common nail buffers! This place was better when it was Maly's and doesn't even compare to Cosmoprof. Pathetic to say the least. read more
