Unbelievable how poor their computer system is and how little they communicate with each other. On top of that, some of the employees, not all, are extremely unprofessional. I called their computer system to refill my mom's blood pressure medicine, which had three refills on it. Their computer said it was already being processed and would be ready soon, and that we'd get a phone call when it was ready. No mention of when, but it rarely took longer than 24 hours, so I figured it would be that day or the next. No phone call came that day, so we politely waited until 10:30 the next morning. This time I made sure I talked to a human being. She said it was in the system to be ready over 24 later, actually 31.5 hours later, one more day after 6:30 pm. I told her this wouldn't work as my mother didn't have enough medicine to last that long. The person then said it would be ready, "In one hour (i.e. 11:30am.)" I waited more than an hour as things come up and went there at 5pm. At the drive through window I got the 6:30pm the next day thing again. I said that this was unacceptable and that I was already promised it would be ready today, by 5 and a half hours ago. So she said it would be ready in 15 minutes. I waited 16 minutes this time in the parking lot, and just to be sure, I called from my car before getting into the car line. I got some guy who told me, "No, it won't be ready until 6:30pm tomorrow." Seriously? I told him that that was unacceptable and that TWO people had already promised it would be filled today. In fact, I had been told that by someone at the window just 15 minutes ago. Did he then check to see if it was being worked on or who had said that? No, he just gave me a five minute tirade about how hard his job was and how understaffed they were. I worked as an RN for years and while we were frequently understaffed, I've *never* used that as an excuse and would never give a patient a life's lesson in my staffing woes. I insisted that it be filled today. So they he promised me by 8pm, hours later. I made a point of telling him that I had worked as an RN and *never* used that as an excuse, that I thought he was very unprofessional and that I'd call back at 7pm. Left the parking lot and started to drive home. Less than 3 minutes later my mother calls me, but I can't answer it because I'm driving. Got home and she told me that Walgreen's had called and it was ready. Seriously? If Mr. Full-of-himself had only listened to what the client was saying and then checked to see if the drug was being worked on instead of ready the computer screen, maybe I wouldn't have to go back and forth and call multiple times.
And in the past, far more than once, their computer would call me up, tell me a refill was ready, and then when I'd get there later that day or the next, there was no refill. Other times, I'd call them myself and refill it through their system, put in the time I wanted it, and computer said it would be done, then when I'd get there, usually a few hours after the time I wanted to give them some breathing room, no drug. A lot of back and forth. (It got so bad that I changed insurance so that I wouldn't have to deal with them anymore, but my mother still does.) This is the worst pharmacy I've ever dealt with.
