I took the thirty minute drive to this LEWES location just to find out they decided to close early on a Saturday when they are supposedly opened 24 hours. Their pharmacy customer service skills are awful. Can't solve a simple issue as insurance billing. All you get are excuses and delays that they're working on it.Meanwhile you can't get a prescription filled. Their staff is poorly trained and overworked. I feel bad leaving a negative review because the pharmacists and their staff are so incredibly overwhelmed and there is little they can do to dig this pharmacy out of the big, negative hole it's in, even if they wanted to. Walgreens corp ought to be ashamed for allowing this to go on like this with such an overworked, small staff. This is a small town with an aging population who really rely on a dependable pharmacy and everyone here knows that this Walgreens is the worst in town. Transferring prescriptions with them is a nightmare so lots of people are stuck in this cycle of disappointment and mistakes here. With that said, the frustrations are earned. IF YOU NEED A PRESCRIPTION FILLED THE SAME DAY, CHOOSE A DIFFERENT PHARMACY ALTOGETHER! Do not put yourself at risk if it's a medication urgently needed, you will not get it the same day even if you are your own health advocate and push them to fill it on a timely schedule. For all the reasons mentioned in other reviews, this is not the pharmacy you can rely on for accuracy, speed, or overall patient concern. ADVICE: check your Rx before leaving for accuracy. They make a good deal of errors here and once you leave, your chance of rectifying their errors decreases significantly. read more

Every time I get a prescription filled here, it's a saga of arriving, the med not being ready after I wait in line for 30 minutes even though it was called in a week ago. Then I come back after 30 minutes, wait in line for 45 more minutes, and the meds still aren't all right. They are near-criminally understaffed and overwhelmed. My physical and mental health are suffering because they are a constant clusterf*ck. Never again. Switching to mail order. 15 minutes per car in the drive thru line; at least 25 people in line in the pharmacy. Get it together, Walgreens!! read more

Had to wait an extraordinarily long time for a vaccination for no apparent reason (I was the only one there and there were 6 pharmacy employees) other than they didn't have it together and were in no rush. read more

Time and time again this place messes up our families regular prescriptions! Had to go to the hospital for a bad sinus infection, my rx's were sent here at 10am. I get a message at 3pm that me meds are ready. I sit in the drive through for over 30 mins to be told that there was a "glitch in the system" and that my meds aren't even in the system anymore. That "they have never seen this happen!!" WHAT THE ACTUAL FUDGE?? Y'all do this all the time and I am so sick of you people. The attitudes of everyone working in the pharmacy sucks too. I just can't understand how you do this for a living if you continuously treat people like trash. We are most definitely switching pharmacies now. Then they say come back in 30 mins, I said I'll be sitting in the parking lot. I get a call 15 mins later saying she got the meds to go through, but they won't be ready for 20 more mins.. WHAT???? Walgreens pharmacy in Lewes, DE is atrocious. From 30-60 minutes wait times for prescriptions no matter what time of the day. 1/2 the line are elderly with no seating until the end and many fear losing their place in line. I have switched pharmacies, I hope others do too. read more

It used to be that the Walgreens in 5 Points was a flagship store. I moved all of my prescriptions over years ago. Now you have to wait days for routine fills ( plan ahead for any critical medications), and today a prescription for an acute illness was sent at 7 am and by 12:30 PM has not been touched. Wonder how long before I get sick enough to need the ER? I group my refills so that in can make one trip on the same day- the last round I had to return twice because they filled them but couldn't find where they put them. Makes me concerned they are so disorganized that they may be making dispensing errors. Perhaps the pharmacists may consider bringing nurses back into the store to give shots. Lots of retired nurses would be interested- and seriously, when they can knock one our every 5-7 minutes that you bill for, how badly would it impact the bottom line? read more

After going to the Rite-Aid on Savannah Road and the Acme on Coastal Highway.....kudos to Walgreens at Five Points (this location is my primary prescription pharmacy). Neither the Acme or Rite-Aid were busy, but at both of the places the staff was rude. Yes, the waits are long at Walgreens, but I have never had anyone be rude, nor have I ever been rude to these hardworking people. The only reason for the four stars is because they could improved the system for finding the filled prescriptions. The staff has been nice everytime I've been in there. More than once the pharmacist on duty made it a point to call out to me to see if I needed assistance - and I wasn't there for scrips. Among the worst prescription services, time after time. Typical wait standing in line to pick up a "ready" prescription is 30-45 minutes. Drive through usually closed but wait times are still the same even if it's open. Recently stood in line for 30+ minutes only to be told even those who were already in line had to come back after the scheduled 30 min lunch break. GEEZ, take your lunch break but honor those already standing in line. They don't answer the phone most of the time and even the automated systems don't work as they should. We'll be switching our prescription plan in Jan. to anything but a Walgreens plan. read more

If you have a choice to use another pharmacy I highly suggest you choose that pharmacy. This is no way to run a business. I have used this pharmacy since back in the day when it was "Happy Harry's". I have always had good service and experience here up until the last 6 months. The situation at the pharmacy is unacceptable. Having one register open, 12+ customers on line in addition to drive thru. I called ahead to renew scripts, received notification they were ready for pick up - drove there only to be told by a staff member in the parking lot that due to a staffing shortage, there was no counter service, only drive-thru - and that had 10 cars -- RIDICULOUS! I understand our little beach town is growing faster than retailers & medical can keep up - maybe they need another Walgreens. Sadly, I will be looking elsewhere to have my scripts filled. read more

10/14/2018 Went to Walgreens to get a prescription today and the service was terrible. The wait time was atleast 30 minutes for someone to help me. There were atleast 6 people behind the counter who could have come forward to ask if I needed help. When I finally was waited on the pharmacist said it would be atleast 20 minutes to be filled and I said fine but I told the pharmacist that I would be back in 30 minutes. When I returned one of the pharmacists said oh yes we are filling that now. I expected the prescription to be ready when I returned. Another 30 minutes went by and prescription was ready. This prescription was not for me but for my husband who had a procedure at Bebe Hospital. Very disappointed. read more

Worst pharmacy on the East Coast. Rude staff. They hold your prescription hostage and no matter when they promise to get it filled by - you get there and wait an hour plus in line only to be told that they haven't even started and to come back after they close for lunch! Last week my med was supposed to be done by Thursday at 10. I came at 115 on Friday and was told they had not started and were about to close for lunch. And then the pharmacist took 10 min to change a printer ink cartridge. Today I come back to get my med and only the drive thru was open. 15 cars in line. The tech helped one car from out of state for 15 min and when we got to the front -closed for lunch. We are stuck here 30 minutes. Once I get my med I will never come here again or shop here. If I were CEO I would be embarrassed that this pharmacy had my brand name on it. In fact my next post will be an email and letter to the district manager and the CEO. I would give this store zero stars if possible. I was on hold for 27 minutes! And the last time I was in, four of us sick people waited in line while the two cashiers took their sweet time - one paging through the weekly flyer with a customer! There were four other people in the back. I know they all have assigned roles since I was a pharmacy tech for CVS, but they should be providing backup at the registers. Someone had responded to this critique by saying that I was misinformed that Walgreens does accept Tricare and I can once again say unequivocally they do not accept Tricare for their prescriptions but do offer a military Vet discount on other purchases aside from prescription medicines. i don't get prescriptions at walgreens but, there's certain things i like to buy there. however, lately i've been pestered about submitting my email address to join a new system they're starting in january. i refuse to give my email and, they keep bugging me. today i was buying something and, was pestered again by a woman cashier who had another employee who also badgered me in front of other customers. i was not rude. i called a complaint in to the manager. in my eyes walgreens sucks. read more

This is the most complete pharmacy in the area. I have found other pharmacies, even Walgreens, that do not keep my medicines in stock, but this one does seem to have everything. As with all pharmacies, they are understaffed, This is compounded by the seasonal peaks of this resort town. Overall, they are better trained, better stocked and with longer hours than any other pharmacy in Sussex county. read more

Very poor service from the pharmacy. First woman wouldn't fill my prescription due to pure laziness. Once I got inside, another woman did take care of it and was very apologetic; however, I was charged much more because they were "out" of the generic. The generic is a very standard, so that's unbelievable. I won't be back, especially with Rite Aid nearby. read more
