I've been going to MyEyeDr. for years, mostly at their Dover locations, and have always had good experiences. Unfortunately, this Georgetown location was very different. I called ahead to ask about costs and was told there would be no charge. When I arrived, I was charged $49 total ($10 copay and $39 for imaging), which was not clearly communicated beforehand. When I mentioned this, staff repeatedly told me I could sign a waiver to decline the imaging, but the way it was communicated felt dismissive rather than helpful. I also asked for a glasses adjustment and did not receive one. Overall, the communication felt rushed and impersonal compared to other locations I've visited. I've had much better experiences with this company elsewhere, so this visit was disappointing. read more

I went in with my friend who was picking up his new glasses. He was handed a bag with his glasses and given absolutely no service. He has a lazy left eye and his left lens was not corrected at all. Also, I asked if my eyeglasses could be repaired; they needed a screw. Instead of just refusing, I was told the temple was broken. It was not. Serious Concerns Regarding Unethical and Inadequate Care at MyEyeDr. - Georgetown Location I am writing to bring serious attention to the deeply troubling and unacceptable service I have experienced over the course of more than a year at the MyEyeDr. location in Georgetown, specifically under the care of Dr. Lynch. Despite being a patient for well over a year, I was consistently prescribed the same contact lenses for both eyes, despite having a documented astigmatism--an issue that was repeatedly overlooked. The lenses provided were painful, blurry, and ineffective, which affected my vision and overall well-being. My condition was clearly not being addressed with the diligence and professionalism one would expect from an eye care provider. It wasn't until my *most recent appointment two months ago* that I finally received a prescription that accounted for my astigmatism--a basic detail that had been ignored during all previous visits. However, even at that appointment, I was initially seen by a woman who *flat-out denied* my astigmatism entirely. Even more confusingly, she insisted that the astigmatism was in my right eye, not my left--contradicting previous information. This left me frustrated and confused, prompting me to request Dr. Lynch personally. When Dr. Lynch entered the room, I candidly informed him that I am aware that my identity and inheritance has been stolen by my father had been misused as part of an ongoing RICO case. I shared that I suspected unethical interference in my healthcare treatment--including paid influence. It was only after openly disclosing my awareness of this situation that I was suddenly treated with the level of respect and attention any patient deserves. If this is what it takes to receive competent care, it raises serious questions about the ethics and integrity of this office. To make matters worse, as I was leaving, a staff member named Katie informed me I owed a co-pay--despite my insurance covering the visit in full. My contacts, which were finally prescribed correctly, have still not been sent to me. I have called *multiple times* today, only to be told that Katie is unavailable or "out to lunch." No one else seems capable or willing to provide an answer as simple as: *When will my contacts arrive?* My 3rd attempt to contact her today I spoke with a manager named Billy, who flatly refused to give me any information whatsoever, citing notes in my file related to my IDE being stolen. This is a disturbing breach of patient trust and an outright refusal to provide basic customer service. Denying access to my own treatment information because I was honest about legal matters they have chosen to support and be a part of. Any person supporting a father to unalive his own daughter for greed is a criminal. All of this affecting my care is unethical and discriminatory. I share my experience as both a warning and a call for accountability. They are currently under investigation for participating in this RICO Case. Whether MyEyeDr. in Georgetown is a family-owned operation or part of a larger network, no doctor or business should knowingly participate in or enable unethical, prejudiced treatment--especially toward a patient brave enough to speak out. *I strongly advise against trusting your eye care to this location.* The blatant disregard for proper diagnosis, the evasive and suspicious conduct of the staff, and the refusal to provide basic service or follow-up communication all speak volumes about the systemic issues within this office. If you value your health, privacy, and dignity, I urge you to seek care elsewhere. You do not want any part of this business. I brought a script to My Eye Doctor location in Georgetown, De for my three-year-old granddaughter, who just started wearing glasses. When I walked in I was greeted by the front desk and let the young lady know that I was looking for glasses for my granddaughter and that her insurance is Medicaid. She pointed me in the direction of the children's glasses and stated that her insurance would only allow for the yellow tagged items. I stated to her that was fine and that I would like to look at other frames that didn't have the yellow tag because I would just buy the frames. She then pointed in the direction of the young lady that was sitting at one of the tables that assist with fitting of glasses. I ask the young lady if they had any other options because my granddaughter is three and some of the glasses are rather big for her. She responds by saying well that is what we have we don't see kids her age so they are made for 8 year olds and up. I said ok and kept looking. While looking an hispanic lady came in inquiring about her glasses and if they were in. The employee who was sitting to the table ask the hispanic customer, "Did you even purchase the glasses, I thought you didn't purchase them", then she proceeding to look it up and the customer did indeed order them and the employee responded "Well they are not in and the estimated date is December 1st so someone will call you". The customer seemed very confused but left the office. The employee lacked professionalism and was very unethical. She even continued to talk about the customer once she left. I then went to the employee with the two pair of frames that I picked out for my granddaughter. My plan was to purchase one and have insurance pay for the other pair. I then asked, Do you think the Seaford location has more of a variety for her age? She stated no they have less then we do and just had a terrible attitude and did not know how to speak to customers. The Milford location was brought up and I said well I will go there. I did go to Milford and was met by a very helpful employee in that location, who actually brought out Miraflex toddler glasses and also showed me the other children's frames, even though they do not service children my granddaughters age they did have frames available and offered excellent customer service and professionalism. I will be following up at the Georgetown office with the manager because that type of behavior is unacceptable within an office that works with the public. read more

Great office! They sent us reminders and got us in last minute for our annual exam before the end of the year. Office is very organized and never a wait time and is in a convenient location. Most of all, we love Dr. Brandner the most! She is always so sweet and easy to talk to and goes out of her way to explain all of our options and what her recommendations are. Dr. Brandner also remembers year to year details about our family. My children loved the hot chocolate that the front desk staff made for them. Great experience, will always come here. read more

My usual Dr was not available which because I have minor vision issues seemed like it should be okay to see an alternate professional. Mistake, mistake, mistake. Upon entering the store it was cold both in temp and personality. The reception folks had a difficult time understanding that I no longer have vision insurance and was planning to pay for the services by myself! I cannot be the first or the last but the woman spent 10-15 minutes looking this up. Nice ladies but...... I was then told to wait in the waiting area which was vacant. The assistant said come this way and took me to the glaucoma area and basically pointed at things without any explaining what, why, when. Interestingly neither the assistant nor the Dr. ever used my name during my visit and the exam proceeded in about that same vein. Never did get the Dr's actual name but he was well past his sell by date. Impersonal and impatient throughout the exam, I almost felt guilty taking up his time. After the short exam they pushed me on to the sales woman who was wrapped up in her winter coat and only interested in the sell. I too got cold and impatient, and left. read more

The optometrist that I delt with was very pleasant; however, I don't think my eye prescription is exactly what it should be. She also noticed that my saline implant had come out of my left eye and was going to get insurance approval for a new one since I have severe dry eyes. It has been over nine months and I still don't have my saline implant. I can no longer see out of my glasses, and there is no way that my eyes have drastically worsened in such a short period of time. I do not see myself going back for my next appointment, I do not trust my eye care to them. read more

Great place to go for eye exams whether you wear glasses or contacts. Employees are courteous and efficient. The doctors are very caring.

I have some complicated vision issues and routinely see an ophthalmologist rather than an optometrist. However I cam back from a trip with a vision issue that cold have been serious and time sensitive. My eye doctor's office said that my Doctor was on vacation and the office was closed till Monday, however they reached out to the Dr, who said I needed to be seen as quickly as possible as the issue might be minor or extremely serious. The staff said recommended I see the optometrist in the same building they have their office. This was a My Eye Dr. location unfortunately they were books solid but they took the time to call other locations and were able to get me in. That was great but better yet was the quality of care I received. The exam was through the explanation complete and they are going to communicate the results to my regular Doctor.
