I'm not afraid of eating some crow when it becomes clear I was wrong. I just hope my stellar review & defense of the Lewes CVS Pharmacy team did not set too many folks on the wrong path TO this store. Folks, getting scrips filled here is or can easily make your life much harder than it already is. And if your health requires regular refills... God help you. Don't be a masochist. Please move your scrips. A little background: Suddenly there was a flag on my refills where there wasn't before, along with a whole new/foreign PRIMARY INSURANCE listed (??!!) & my actual and only insurer was dunked to secondary. 1. You can't call & talk to these folks when it works for you. Oh, "we're a digital store. We don't take calls. Only do call backs." Translated: when it's good for them. God forbid if you have to schedule your breaks or have coworkers you'd like to be considerate of. Message heard: they and their time are more important than the patients and their time, not to mention health. 2. When my insurance carrier called the store to clear up the issues, their calls also went to voicemail. 3. These weren't new scrips. They were processed correctly with no hitches numerous times. WTF?! Even when confronted with the obvious in their system and with my insurance company repeatedly confirming they have no flags on these refills, and see no reason for any issues, the now-infamously poor performing CVS Lewes Pharmacy staff looks at ME for the solution. 4. A call to the CVS corporate relations line yielded no chance at the Lewes store, but the very nice agent after working on this for an hour with me, and after multiple calls to the store about their responses that just aren't jiving, she at least reassured me that it was NOT ME. I just moved to the Area.. My dog got very sick, and an additional antibiotic was needed. My Vet called it in to CVS. The staff there was amazing!! Not only did they help me, the got me a coupon and even cut the pills for my little guy. The pharmacist went OUT OF HIS way to help me and I will ALWAYS appreciate that! Had a medication sent to the CVS at 3pm from my dermatologist. Said it was ready for pick up at 7 PM. Didn't go to pick it up until the next day approximately 9:15 AM. On my way to work, it was still was not ready and said it would take 15 minutes to fill. Really? Couldn't stick around because I needed to go to work. Don't understand how it takes 15 minutes to put a few pills in a bottle that should've been ready the night before. They need to get their sh$& together because I don't understand how do you tell somebody a medication is going to be ready the day before and it's still not the following morning. Complete inconvenience. I'm going to take my medication's over to Walgreens. read more

The pharmacy services here are inconsistent but today was unusually frustrating. They close the pharmacy from 1:30-2;00 pm for lunch. I arrived before 1:30( just about 1:26 ) and they were already shuttered in the drive thru. Since I am recovering from knee surgery and walking is tough I went to the front end and spoke with " Jenn". I asked her to check the rear because it seemed they closed the window before 1:30. I asked if since they closed early , would they be opening early as well. She said she couldn't speak w anyone in the back and I'd have to take it up with " corporate " . She was " just a cashier". I asked to speak w a manager. She said none were available. Then I returned to my car and waited- hoping that that perhaps our watches were not accurate. At 2:01 an employee opened the window and said, " I'll be with you in a minute". At 2:07 a pharmacy employee returned and got my prescription. I complained that they had closed earlier than posted. She told me half an hour is not very long for lunch. In short, I waited from 1:26-2:07 . All unnecessary. This is the worst CVS I have ever used. read more

My Dad(86), had a dental procedure, and got a antibiotic prescription. It was phoned in just after 9am. Two hours later, he mentions he gets a text from CVS when it's ready. I went anyway, and they had no record of it. Went back home and called his dentist. They would send in the prescription a second time. I go back, pharmacy is closed for lunch. Returned again. The nasty pharmacist (white coat, XXXL) said they just got it. I nicely asked if it could be moved up the line a bit, because they lost it. She was super rude about her being busy. She had the customer service skills of a bowling ball. I waited off to the side for 55 minutes. She knew I was waiting. Finally completed, my name was called. She told me I could go back on line. Consistently have horrible experiences at this location. I chalked it up to recovering from the pandemic at first, but I stop by here once every three months to pick up a prescription and have an issue every time. The team is severely understaffed. The phones ring for 40 minutes at a time (yes I've waited that long on hold). Tonight I went to pick up my prescription and the pharmacy was closed (it's 6:15pm and the hours on their own website state 8pm). CVS, this is not an issue with the location. This is a corporate and marketing issue. You cannot possibly expect the store to succeed by limiting them so severely. read more

Too bad that CVS now charges to deliver prescriptions in the mail. Since your store is a dumpster fire, I try to avoid it like COVID. I would think that mailing would keep your lines down so fewer angry people taking it out on your overworked and under paid employees. Recently had a serious problem with getting a renewal on muy prescription Talked to serveral of the employees to no avail, kept repeating to early for renewal even though the script had one more renewal. I was desperate since medicine was critical. Visited the store asked for thpharmacist. She spent over 30 minutes with me on her computer and finally resolved the issue as someone entered the wrong date on the computer. Pharmacist was very pleasant.knowleable and certainly determined. . My wife had shoulder surgery yesterday. After the surgery we stopped at CVS to pick up her meds. I was told they were not available until after 3PM, it was 12:05PM At 3 I called CVS it took me 25 minutes to reach a person who kept putting me on hold. So she waited 4 hours to get the much needed pain meds she desperately needed. This place is unacceptable The pharmacy staff is rude and uncaring. I understand they are swamped and overloaded but they don't make any effort to rush things along even when they see a huge shoulder sling in my passenger seat. I go there for nothing now read more

It's important to have lunch Yet again CVS has mastered consistency only rivaled by the Motor Vehicle Administration. Today the pharmacy clerk closed the metal shade so the staff could go to lunch (while people were waiting). So while not the most customer friendly approach, people must eat. Fast forward precisely 30 minutes later and an especially rare experience took place which I promptly video taped as I was certain not a sole will believe me. The clerk proceeded to smugly address customers in a tone more suitable for the dearly departed. Directing instructions "you have to this and that" interrupted only by her frequent bites of some baked pastry or pizza and several minutes of rigorous chewing. Cheerio for her attention to moms advice "always chew your food and mouth closed(than the heavens). So CVS 10 points for; insuring your employees have a meal and for a training program that produces such consistency in rude, indifference I'd bet MVA poaches your talent on a regular basis. I learned a valuable lesson. Be very careful what you ask for, you just may get it. I asked that the "red" headed associate at Lewes five points be replaced. Who knew!!!!!!!! the employees here must really hate their job, because every one had a glum, annoyed look on their face! I went yesterday, 30 May, to pick up an ointment prescription from my doctor. they told me it was in progress and to wait. I waited 10 minutes. they checked again and said it still was not ready. after10 more minutes, thirty all together, they told me it would be 15-20 more. they were busy, so I understood and said I would come back the next day. when I did, they claimed not to have my prescription at all! I won't go into all the back and forth, but a rude woman piped up and said my insurance had declined it because it was an OTC med! I asked why she or anyone else had not told me that the day before. If I could give no stars I would. Now I have worked with the public all my life. 32 years in the restaurant industry alone. Now, at first when they would get my prescriptions in the am and they still wouldn't be ready until the next day, I said I get it no people to work. The second time I come in realizing I now have diabetes along with several other things. Scared and unnerved. I go there to retrieve my meds, for them to say your insurance won't cover anything. Your insulin will be 597.00 for one needle. That's not even everything that's just the insulin. Not understanding I called insurance got no where. Transferred my meds to Walmart because it was a tad cheaper. Come to find out my insurance did pay for my meds the pharmacist didn't want to tKe the time to call them. So now, today I go in to pick Up a medication that Walmart was out of. Called in the am. Went in the afternoon and she says we don't have that. I looked at her and said "did you ever think to call me" and she shook her shoulders and said no. Seriously! I've given so many chances even had the tech tell a customer that he passed his nursing test and if everyone was going to give him an attitude he would just leave and no one would get there medication! The Asst Manager Darian? was extremely rude and combative after I asked why it took four days to fill my prescription for a much needed antibiotic!! After 55 years of being a loyal CVS customer in New York my loyalty has come to a crashing halt. I have been patient understanding that all pharmacies are short staffed. Be warned... The automated system is not reliable!! It indicated that my script was being processed and would be available today. It's been 2 days after all, one would think that sufficient time to locate a very common drug ... I was not confident and reluctantly called to confirm. After a half hour I finally spoke with a human who told me my meds were on back order and unavailable for foreseeable future. Who was going to call me? How was this information going to be relayed to me? And ... to top things off ... I'm learning this at the end of the day on a Friday before a snowstorm. I'm done! I have to give one star, but am not happy to do so. I have been dealing with this PILL MILL for a couple years and have never had good service. It takes forever to get a prescription filled. Today was the last time I go to this horrible non customer friendly shop. I stopped by to pick up my scripts I dropped off 24 hours earlier and they were not ready. I was asked if I could wait 15 or 20 minutes. No! Why? In the past and today, the employees could care less and many times very rude. I never got upset at them until today. I had taken my business to the Weis pharmacy a couple months ago and they were great. But they closed and sent their records to CVS. I strongly suggest to stay away from this PILL MILL. I am sure they could care less if you did. read more

Too bad there isn't a negative number. Does anyone in charge even care about the issues the Lewes, DE pharmacy has? They have too many customers. Staff is rude at times. You often can't talk to a human. I've had to call or go in more than one time to get something corrected that was time sensitive. And the cost of drugs, with or without insurance or using GoodRx, is the most expensive in the area. I took my prescriptions elsewhere. read more

When your Dr sends a a script don't expect to get it for at least 2 days. When you refill one on the phone and it says your script will be ready st 1:00 pm that day they really mean 1:00 pm the next day! This is the only CVS I have used in my lifetime that takes this long to fill a script! Next time I will try the one in Rehoboth to see how they do. read more

Service is absolutely awful, my daughter had an issue with her eye that was extremely painful, we had taken her to Urgent care in another town and were on our way back to Lowe's, I called CVS and told them we were on our way pick up a prescription and would be there about 9:30 PM, we got there at 9:30 only to be told that the pharmacy closed at 8PM. So my daughter had to deal with the pain all night. Next morning I went to pick it up for hey pulled up all the info and then told me I need to come back in half an hour. I gave them 45 minutes, came back then was told they didn't do anything because they didn't have my insurance on file, so then I went back around for another half hour waiting. I pulled back up to the drive through window, the cashier just held up her finger, walked away and answered the phone, then went to the inside counter and started helping someone that had walked.
