If you're into chaos and disappointment, this is your pharmacy! I rarely write reviews, but this pharmacy deserves a warning to others. The service here is shockingly poor. Prescriptions are never ready on time, no matter how far in advance they're sent. Expect to wait--either in line or on hold--for an unreasonable amount of time just to be told they've "run out" of your medication or "didn't receive" the prescription, even when you have confirmation that it was sent. The staff is either overwhelmed or uninterested. Communication is vague at best, and downright dismissive at worst. On multiple visits, I've seen people leave frustrated after being told to come back hours later--only to repeat the same cycle. If you rely on timely, accurate prescriptions for your health, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere. This place is more of a liability than a convenience. Looking for a place where your prescription will magically vanish into thin air? Where waiting 45 minutes in line earns you nothing but attitude and an empty-handed walk of shame? Congratulations -- you've found it! Every visit here is like a fun little game: Will they have my meds? Will anyone acknowledge me? Will I leave angry? (Spoiler alert: yes to the last one.) The staff seems genuinely confused that people come here expecting service. Calling ahead? Don't bother -- you'll either be on hold until you question your will to live, or told the prescription was "just sent" even though it was sent yesterday. After the debacle at their competitor next door, yes, they are located right next to each other, I came in here. At least the first impression of this place wasn't bad. Unlike next door the parking lot wasn't a mess and it wasn't packed inside with a hoard of people at the pharmacy. I walk to the aisle that would have the cards for the items I needed and headed to the pharmacy counter. Unlike next door, there was no one standing here. Maybe that wasn't a good sign, that this pharmacy doesn't get used as much as the one next door. Or maybe it was a blessing since I just dealt with that mess. Anyways, I walk up to the counter, and am ignored for a good five minutes. I could see if there was a line, but I was literally the only person standing there. The pharmacy tech was busy wiping down under the counter. Completely saw me standing there, and proceeded to wipe down under the counter. When he did finish, he finally acknowledged me. I handed him the card and waited for him to grab the medication I needed. He looks at the card, without turning around, and tells me they don't have it. At that point, I would have gave up, but I was like, yeah, no, turn around. If you didn't want to help me, you could have walked away and let someone else handle me. But don't lie straight to my face when I can see the medication on the top shelf, behind you, facing me. When I told him that in fact they did have it, it was like he was wanting me to argue with him. Instead, I just pointed and said it's right there on the top shelf. Simple transaction it would have been, but you wanted to make it harder on the both of us. I'm not even sure what is going on at this point with these pharmacy chains. 3/14/2024 4:30 pm 3/9 I took a prescription for Allegra D 180 mg to my neighborhood Walgreens 600 WASHINGTON BLVD S, LAUREL, MD 20707 . I picked up the prescription, hoping I would get some very much needed sleep. I might have well not taken anything, because my condition kept getting worst. Once I really looked at the paper work for the pills that the pharmacy gave me, I realized I was given plain Allegra with no decongestant. 3/12 I called the Walgreen pharmacy to explain the problem. They had not given me the correct medication. They offered to correct the mistake. I went right away to get the corrected medication. Or so I thought. Yah! Maybe I can sleep tonight, I thought. Not so. This time they gave me Allegra D 60 mg. It did nothing for me. Unfortunately, I was so desperate I took 1 1/2 pills to get to sleep. I got sleep. 3/14 I went to appointment with ENT doctor. I told him what I had done. He explained that the pill is time released and that when I cut a pill in have, it is no longer a time release. I could have had complications. Once home from the doctor's office, I called Walgreen Pharmacy. The pharmacist said that the only thing he could do for me was let me buy another box of Allegra D 180 mg. I spent $60 for 2 boxes of Allegra 2 days before thinking that they finally got it right. My doctor had planned for me to be covered for the allergy season. I can't even use them. One box, of course was opened, the other not. This Walgreen Pharmacy has truly treated me with lack of concern. read more

I like this location because it has easy access from both north and southbound Route 1 and is close to home abd almost always has the items I want in stock. There's a good amount of parking, and it's almost never busy inside, which makes shopping a breeze. The prices are reasonable but do differ from the online prices for pickup. Gosh, the way an employee treats you goes such a long way! I went yesterday and the cashier was super unprofessional and unhappy having to run the register solo and do the photo area and handle curbside orders, stressful indeed. It just put me in a bad mood. Today I picked up a different order and a different employee, Carmalita, was super upbeat, outgoing, friendly, and helpful. Wish all employees could be like this. Brightened my mood. Nice newly designed store that's clean, organized, and conveniently located close to the downtown area of Laurel. Been here several times for regular shopping and prescriptions. I gave 3 stars cause there service is quite slow especially in the pharmacy. Twice I went during the quiet time of the day to pick up a prescription my doctor called in. I still had to wait 45 minutes. It seems they need more help than having two pharmacist and a pharmacist technician there who was waiting on drive thru and inside. I've also seen people having to wait a long time just to ask the pharmacist a question. Service there is ridiculous. The pharmacist technician is very polite and apologized several times for the long wait. However, it is very frustrating every time I've gone. I highly recommend plan ahead and be prepared to wait. Same slow experience at the front check out registers and in photo department. Again plan accordingly if you need to shop there. Some of the items they have on sale is usually out of stock even when it's only been a couple days since the sale started. Also, frustrating. read more

Started shopping here since they opened in 2013, held off the Rx until I got a feel for the timing. Well thank goodness I did because judging from the experiences of friends, Yelpers and my time near the pharmacy waiting part--this place is dead. You hardly ever see cars in the drive through nor people waiting so that is an indication to me that people are staying away. They never have what is advertised, always out of the good stuff whether nasal spray, candy, nail polish or deodorant. Many basics are grossly overpriced. Better prices at the supermarket. The building is clean and neat. Parking is excellent and is easy to enter and exit. However the employees are in outer space. Either they do not know how to help you when there is a problem NOT YOURS or they clearly are not trained sufficiently in order to make transactions smooth and not give customers the good old WT or WalgreenTrauma. So sad that what could be a great shopping experience near my home is left barren due to zero customer service and no inventory. Sigh... There may be better Walgreen's near Laurel, but this is not a good one!! read more

What a disaster. I've been with this pharmacy since I moved to the area in 2017 and shame on me for not switching sooner. Their negligence is literally going to hurt someone someday. If you need your prescription correct or in a timely manner then go elsewhere! EVERY time I pick up my RX there's an issue......My prescription is out of stock. My prescription is running late. They only filled one month instead of 3 months. They can't locate me in the system. Waiting on hold to be hung-up on multiple times. Being told (incorrectly) that my insurance doesn't cover the prescription. Generally speaking, I don't believe in writing online reviews without informing management first and giving the store an opportunity to improve. My most recent visit provided me the opportunity to deal with their pharmacy manager, Sean. Let me start by saying that my insurance, doctor and the prescription itself haven't changed in 5+ years. AND it's a basic pack, they don't even have to count pills! On this visit, (Wednesday 1/13)the pharmacy prescribed a generic brand without informing me. I got home, opened the bag and immediately called the pharmacy when I wasn't familiar with the packaging. The pharmacist who answered, "Greg," informed me that he was just temporarily helping the location but would leave a note for the pharmacy manager who wasn't currently available. I asked him if I could simply come back and exchange for my normal medication but he said that wasn't possible because they were out of stock and often find it difficult to locate my particular brand. Great. He told me to come back on Tuesday 1/19 and they could do the exchange. VERY LONG story made short, the prescription wasn't ready on Tuesday. I was then required to make multiple phone calls back and forth to the pharmacy, my doctors office and my insurance company. My insurance company literally laughed and said "Not a problem. The manager "Sean" attempted to blame the mishap on the language on the prescription. Again, this prescription hasn't changed in years and your tech already informed me that the issue was because it's challenging to get the item in stock. Why couldn't your pharmacy manager, "Sean" just be honest? OR better yet, inform me that the RX is a pain in the neck and they'll do better next time? OR inform me that it's simply not possible in the future so that I can seek out a new pharmacy? After clearing all the red tape and getting approval from every "agency," I was told the prescription would be ready after 4pm. Imagine my surprise when I showed up at the pharmacy and the prescription was STILL wrong and wasn't corrected until after 5pm. Then, instead of filling the RX, your manager took the time to rudely "educate" me on prescriptions in an attempt to chastise. This was particularly offensive given that the mistake was on the pharmacy's part. It took every fiber of my being not to lose it on this woman during her lecture. Sean's ignorant attitude sealed the deal. An apology for the weeklong delay would have sufficed and I'm appalled that this is Walgreens idea of customer service. Sean's rudimentary customer service skills and obvious lack of regard led me to ask her, "How long have you been the manager here?" Sean informed me that she has been the pharmacy manager at this location since 2017 and all of the past issues are starting to make a lot more sense.... read more

Now not the least of is how much time I have lost out of my life waiting in lines here. There is constantly a line for both the checkout and prescription area. Let's say you take a look at the drive through and see no one is there.....WRONG as soon as you pull up they will scream you are third in line and then slam the phone down! They need to have adequate staff to separate both pickup/drop off areas. The pickup express machines are broke half the time l. The Monitor that shows whether your prescription is ready or not is always broken or just never updated. I don't even know where to begin with this Walgreens. If you are looking for an item that is advertised as being on sale in the weekly ad, I can guarantee it will not be in stock. They should call this Walgreens and express store since there stock is always slim and they don't care half of the items you would find at any other Walgreens. On top of the lack of products, the employees are unprofessional. As a disclaimer, in the many visits I have made there are about two cashiers that have been extremely kind and welcoming. It is almost a shocker to interact with an employee that is willing to help you. Every time I have had an issue it was always with a manager, especially when it comes to using coupons. The managers and employees are not consistent and I have often experienced them making up their own policy when taking coupons. This Walgreens needs to have an employee powwow and read the policy together while singing "Kumbayah". Cheers to another round of training!!!! read more

The store is beautiful, clean, organized and probably due only to the fact that the staff exudes such horrible energy that I don't think anyone wants to shop there. She exudes the same energy as the receptionist (Roz) in Monsters Inc. Not only was she bothered to ring me out but did not speak one word. Not an ounce of self respect in that hag let alone customer service. I think it's important to show up and out for yourself and if you can't even do the bare minimum of what your job requieres, then maybe you should consider unemployment. With that attitude it's only fitting you stay behind closed doors, away from everyone else so that people don't have to have a smack down with the mucinex monster at the register to buy some overpriced cold medicine. It's a big, beautiful, new store with friendly pharmacists. But I am very disappointed. On January 6, 2013, I brought my wife in for a flu shot, a covered benefit under our insurance policy. For a reason unknown, the claims system returned a message stating that a paper claim was required. This seemed odd for a participating pharmacy. I filed the claim on paper. The explanation of benefits from the pharmacy benefit manager falsely stated that I had failed to present my insurance card to the participating pharmacy. The insurer paid the claim based on the contracted price of $14.58. Walgreens charged me $31.99, $17.41 more than the contracted price. I faxed in to the pharmacy a letter, along with the explanation of benefits and the paper claim, in which I requested a refund of the $17.41 overcharge. I heard nothing back so I showed up at the store a few days later. The very nice pharmacist on duty showed me the remarks written by a Walgreens employee and attached to my faxed letter stating that I was due the refund I requested. But she didn't know how to process the transaction on the cash register so she asked me to phone them the next day. Another pharmacist took my call and said she'd be communicating with a senior manager and then would get back to me. Today I was told that the $17.41 was an administrative charge that would not be refunded. I reminded the pharmacist that I saw with my own eyes the handwritten note on my faxed letter stating that I was due the refund. When a pharmacy signs a contract with a pharmacy benefit manager, it does not get to choose which drugs will be sold to covered consumers at the contract prices and which will be sold at higher prices. Further, the dispensing pharmacist, who processed the transaction herself through the claims processing system and the cash register, did not tell me that the price would be higher than the contract price--only that I would have to file a paper claim. We therefore had no opportunity to consider bringing our business to a pharmacy that would honor the pricing terms of its contract with the pharmacy benefit manager. I will not give up on this until Walgreens honors the terms of our contract. I must emphasise that all of the pharmacists and other store staff members have been very kind through this period. ****UPDATE OF FEBRUARY 7, 2013: Walgreens and I are resolving this dispute through Walgreens' provision to me of a gift card with $17.41 in credit to use at their stores. read more

I work at this location and yes I am using a different name. The manager, Angel is one of the most disorganized, selfish people I have worked with. She lets employees who were exposed to or have the coronavirus come into work without confirming if they tested negative or positive. This place does not follow the CDC guidelines. I went into the store to use their photo machine and print pictures from my external hard drive and copy 2 photo strips. They have 3-4 stations; none of them recognized my hard dive on the computer. I asked an employee for help and she responded that "There probably broken and we can't do anything about it" Another customer, not employee, suggested I use the app to print my pictures and sold me on the idea. So I went home and downloaded all the pictures to my phone to upload to the app. The app is quick and easy and deserves 5 stars. My pictures were ready in two hours. Awesome! I asked my boyfriend to pick them up on the way home. I get Home and I'm excited about my pictures. I get them and there are orange and green streaks through the bottom of almost every picture. I politely go today to see if I can get them reprinted. I stand in a long line with one cashier. She calls for help and 5 minutes they come to help with the line. One of the cashiers was down the makeup just scanning stuff, not doing anything while she looks at the long line. I found out later that the people with gray vest are the managers. One manager comes and and tells the other to get behind the counter. She's says nooo and starts dragging her feet but goes along. So now two managers behind the counter allow the line to move faster. I get up to the counter and explain my situation. The cashier says oh, one machine is broken and it prints like that. I'm thinking to myself if you all know that then why are you still handing out photos from that machine? Does that even make sense? She asks if I want to return them, I say yes but I don't have the receipt. There's a paper with a barcode on the photo box and I ask if she can look it up from there. She says no, that just tells you what you paid. Correct me if I'm wrong, isn't that a receipt? It also has what I ordered on it. So she says I can't return them. She tells me to go speaks to the managers with the gray vests. Lucky me, I get the one that was dragging her feet. She is way too non Chaka this to be a manager in customer service. I explain my situation again and she says oh they are Supposed to tell you to look at them before you take them away. I asked my boyfriend if they asked him and he said no. She says well They should have asked. And I ask her if an employee knew that the pictures Was messed up why would they sell a defective product? The person who printed them and/or put them in the box had to see The image was distorted! That makes no sense. I will never go to this place again. The customer service is horrible. There's always a line. The employees are so non chalant! Is this what the Walgreens customer service is about? I think not! They need an overhaul at this Location. I am so frustrated with this Walgreens location regarding their pharmacy. The store is clean, well lit and stocked but the pharmacy service has had issues these past 12 months. Bad customer service and mistaken RX and mistaken notice of RX being filled repeatedly! I have been a Walgreens customer for over 20 years first in Washington State then about five years ago when they opened this Laurel location. The first few years were great here and then something changed in management and personnel turnover. I noticed all new people almost every 90-120days and these new folks don't seem to understand the computer system or customer service. Have had several bad experiences with either wrong RX received, them telling me RX ready when it's not ready, not knowing how to contact my Johns Hopkins doctors or contacting the wrong ones then the one that sent in the RX, not ringing purchase correctly, not applying my insurance and RX manufacturing discount cards to the purchase, not applying my phone number to the purchase in order to accumulate Walgreens points so I can get more of a discount, Drive thru staff telling me one thing vs inside store counter staff telling me another, drive thru staff telling me Walgreens didn't call me with RX ready for pick up but when I show her the phone and she plays the VM she says oh well staff made a mistake (ummm I made a special trip over here to pick up RX - I didn't come over to socialize; BTW this has happened 3 times now), to not fulfilling correct as written RX (synthyroid only no generic yet every 90 days I have to have the same convo with them and every time they tell me they will mark it in the computer yet rarely is it right when I go to pick up!) - I'm just done with this location. I have called, I have emailed, I have complained in person to pharmacy manager and store manager (yes they have two different ones) to no avail nothing seems to be changing for the better. Also photo dept is hit or miss depending on who is working some front counter staff are incredibly rude and don't know a thing about photo while others are really nice and knowledgeable and if they don't know the answer they either figure it out or go to someone to find out the answer. But those crappy ones really ruin the experience. Also just so you know to be forewarned as it were the CVS that is basically a block away is just as bad if not worse - I have plenty of experience there as I caretake for my parents and their RX are filled there. Do not order Christmas or holiday cards from Walgreens. When you place an order on-line, they will show you how your card will look when it is printed out. But when I went to pick up my order, the text at the bottom was cut in half, horizontally. They then pulled it up on their screen and it showed exactly what I saw when I placed my order. But their printer creates something else. They are fast but their quality is poor. Don't waste your time. read more

I was going to write a review about the Laurel Walgreens being the worst pharmacy in Laurel but that line is almost as long as the line at the pharmacy counter. My only suggestion is to use the drive-thru. You will still wait 20 to 30 minutes but at least you are sitting and can listen to the radio. read more
