Coincidentally, had some good discussions about grocery stores with various friends on FB messenger this afternoon & next in alphabet series representing 2024 is W is for Weis Markets. For W, this is my 2nd Yelp review in this current alphabet series. See my 3-star Wegmans Columbia review I wrote recently. 2024 was year I went to Weis most frequently, but I've still occasionally go here maybe twice in 2026 so far. In 2024 Weis was my most frequent grocery store, but I was less likely to come here over time as I had some issues with this location. All Saints Road location is pretty similar on severity of my issues with them, but I'm far more likely to go to US 1 location as generally more convenient. Since living in Russett in western Anne Arundel County, in 2021-2023 I was going to my local Shoppers most often as well as Aldi. I never particularly liked Shoppers but it was convenience of proximity. By 2025 I realized Wal-Mart near me was pretty good in some aspects for groceries even though they've annoyed me at times too, but they are still superior to Shoppers. From July 2023 to July 2024, I had free Wendy's for a year for going to a grand remodel opening of a location in Columbia, & my closest Wendy's is across street on Gorman from Weis. So, I'd get lunch at Wendy's then do grocery shopping at Weis more often starting in late 2023. My Weis business further increased after New Year 2024 when Anne Arundel Co government banned plastic bags all together, which I thought was ridiculous, so for a long time I boycotted going to grocery stores in AA (as well as PG Co) & would drive across county line to Howard Co & did almost all my grocery business with them. Howard charges 5 cents for plastic bag, & I still bring my reusable bags as I don't want to pay a nickel for a plastic bag. I just didn't like AA County banned them all together. I made an exception for my local Maryland City Aldi as no bags was their private company's policy, but it wasn't county government forcing customers & businesses to change their ways. By 2025, I eased up on my AA County grocery boycott as my opinion of Weis cooled off, it was a lot further to next closest store in Howard & more convenient to give Wal-Mart a try less than a mile from my home & Weis is about 3.5 miles each way. Shopping experience fairly easy, not too stressful. Produce variety was pretty good, & it was generally fresh but not perfect either. A good variety of meats. My biggest complaint was seafood at Weis. It was pretty lacking in terms of variety. In 2024 I had a big complaint with their pricing of salmon. So I don't recall exact pricing of salmon per pound, but let's say it was $10.99/lb. They'd have huge 1.5-2 pounds. I'd just want like 3/4 of lb, which would be about $8.75 total, but they wouldn't have anything close to this size. So, they would have these precut salmon, which were 2 5 oz cuts or 10 oz total. It was a bit short of 12 oz, but I might've accepted for convenience. However, price was a flat $10. I said price is $10.99/lb, & this is $16/lb (which is absolutely ridiculous more than most expensive Whole Foods, which I believe was a ripoff $14.99/lb there). Rude woman working for seafood said prices were set the way they were. I had her cut about 3/4 lbs or so & weigh. We did that dance on a few occasions. She'd complain about doing her job saying it was tough to get measurement right. A couple of times there was no one even around to help me. I think I just conceded I wasn't going to get any seafood, & I'd just get beef/other meats, but I really shouldn't have to do concede on what I'm eating. One time I asked to speak with manager about this. He was relatively nice & empathetic, & seafood area got a little better. I didn't think salmon was always fresh, kind of slimy. I have better luck at my local Aldi or Wal-Mart for quality of salmon. One time I was trying to take something back for a refund in May 2025. I often look at food expiration before I buy. I had bought turkey bacon from Weis maybe a few days earlier, & I was pissed as I realized expiration date was day BEFORE I bought. I bought on Sunday, May 4, 2025, & it expired May 3. This was obviously unacceptable. So, finally on Thursday, May 15 I got around to taking about this expired turkey bacon with my receipt. Manager let me exchange w/ other turkey bacon. I acknowledged I normally check expirations but happened to have not check, but was annoyed Weis had expired food there in 1st place. I requested for inconvenience of me driving 3.5 miles, 10 minutes each way to give like gift card for their fault of expired food. He said they stopped giving gift cards for things. So once again annoyed. Few times I went it was just self checkout, no checkout people, which I don't like. They said last hour or 2, but I don't like all self checkout. 3/18 Update: Salmon actually 10 oz $12, not $10. $10.99/lb is normal price. See pics. read more

Produce is terrible. Anything that I have gotten there from strawberries, blueberries and lettuce barely made it to the next day. Very disappointing wasted a lot of money. They do have the most excellent pumpkin pie from the bakery and that is all I will be buying there. read more

I only purchase juice and flowers. The meats are often gray, the produce is rotten. Even the bakery stuff is stale or soon to expire. I see why this place is never busy they need to do better read more

Not the first time I come to this Weis and find beef, pork or chicken that's green or grey because it's gone bad. What the heck is the butcher doing that he doesn't check his meat? Disgusting. If I'm doing a Yelp post it's because it's happening too often. And I've literally stopped in multiple times during the week to see the same meat untouched or moved by the butcher. The only good thing about this grocery store is the pharmacy! I give the pharmacy staff 10 stars. read more

Not my favorite supermarket but definitely good place for a quick shopping. Really big store with aisles full and stacked, their employees were really nice and you literally can find most things.. Parking is extremely huge and easy access for handicap individuals. I just wish if they had more selection veggies and fresh greens but that doesn't mean they dont have a decent selection.. read more

Straight forward grocery store, good selection of items and easy to navigate aisles. The store is well-lit and well-maintained. Upon walking in this MDW, the entry is filled with seasonal themed items. Items such as yard signs, flowers, desserts, and savory items. Definitely helpful for this busy weekend, so I definitely appreciate that. Specifically for this trip I was in the area and just needed some vanilla ice cream. I was in quite a hurry and the store was very accommodating. I was able to easily navigate and find my way through the store to find the item that I needed. The aisles were clearly marked and easy to see. To check out thankfully it wasn't too busy, even though I elected to go through self checkout. There were multiple open kiosks, which like similar check outs were easy to use and there was someone on hand to help if necessary. Not a full 5 stars as I was only in there momentarily and did not fully navigate through the entire store or come across any associates. read more

UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT- STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU DONT GO HERE ANYMORE I've been going to this location for 7 years. Been buying my lunch here and then groceries after getting off work. So I go to the counter to pay for my salad and I'm told that they don't check out here anymore. That I have to go to self checkout. I asked the lady since when? She said oh we are under new management. So I told here make sure you tell you boss that I won't be back and the 75 employees that work for me will not be back either. Worst customer service ever. The only reason I go this store is because its very close to where I live. The store is somewhat clean and organized. They have reasonable selection of snacks items, organic and local produce and household items. The prices are definitely higher in comparison to Food Lion / Walmart for the same brand item. I would definitely check for expiry date because I had come across expired cake on several occasions. I loved their seasonal Irish bread but when I went to get more it took them 30 mins to let me know that they were out of stock. Their salad bar and ready to eat organic soups are reasonably good if you are in hurry. I wouldn't recommend their sushi because it is definitely not fresh. They advertise gas points accumulation from the shopping but so far I have got none. There is line for cashiers during rush hour but they also have 4 self checkout kiosk. All in all, I would reccomend this for quick and needy runs but definately not my go-to store read more

There's no bleach, toilet paper, Lysol or hand sanitizer - BUT; there's loads of meat (chicken, turkey, ham, pork), eggs (limit one per person), milks, fresh veggies & fruits, bread, frozen foods, cake mixes, paper products - limits on paper towels/water/butter; there's yogurts, low on toothpaste, ample nearly everything else and there's always folks stocking, whistling as the stock. Of all the grocery stores near me, I'm ever so grateful that this Weis is doing their best to keep Laurel and it's surrounding residents, well taken care of. read more

This is specifically about the Weis gas station. It's always clean and very well kept up. I'd like to comment however that I really appreciate any gas station that has FREE air for my tires. I will always buy gas from places that have free air!! And it's a really nice machine too. Very accurate. The other week I went and it was broken. I was afraid it was actually not being fixed. The staff in the booth was so sorry it was broken and said the part to repair it was on order. I had an emergency need for air yesterday and didn't hesitate to drive out of my way and past a few other gas stations to go to Weis. Thanks!! read more

This review is specifically for this location and for the 'Order Online, Pick Up' service. It took about three hours to put together my shopping list as it was the first time using this service online and there was a learning curve. The website wouldn't recognize my frequent shopper number --can't place your order without it. Turns out that they misspelled my name when I originally signed up. Fixed that issue and went to pick up my groceries at the scheduled time (they give you a 30 minute window). You have to go inside and stand in line at customer service (15 minutes) and then, they didn't have my order ready so had to wait an additional 25 minutes for them to finish putting it together. Additionally, they didn't have about 10 items on my order so I will have to go back later. All in all, it was a very frustrating experience and it's doubtful I would ever use this service again. UPDATE: When I got home, there were several items that weren't what I ordered. For example, I ordered a four-pack of toilet paper and received a single roll. It was ridiculous and am lowering my two stars to one. read more

I had a terrible experience from an online order at Weis. I called the store manager of the store on route one in laurel this morning and told him That more than half my order wasn't delivered and that I had Covid and by the time my order was delivered last night it was too late to make other arrangements. My order was charged to me around 2:00 yesterday but didn't get delivered until almost 8:00. I couldn't look on a receipt because it wasn't available online. It said I would have to wait till I got the order to look at my paper receipt. I have never ordered before and thought maybe everything was on sale. When the order showed up I had left a $20 tip in an envelope under my mat cause I didn't have any change and I figured Christmas. My order was supposed to be $100 before any fees. I was charged $45 and that was with a $10 service fee. I didn't receive my medicine, orange juice, food among other items and if I had been able to see that I would have ordered from somewhere else. The store manager told me they don't call customers when they are out of items. I understand that but when they are out of most of the order they should have contacted me. I asked the store manager should I just come there and shop myself? I said you don't have a mask mandate and even though I do have Covid I don't need to wear one right? His answer. "Our mask mandate doesn't go back into effect until Wednesday ". Omg. Did he not hear me. It seems like they could care less. I did more than 33 years at Giant and if my customers were unhappy at all I did anything and everything to make them happy without excuses. My daughter did an online order last night to Giant that should be here this afternoon. Hopefully Giant will do much better I am trying to post this everywhere read more

I go to this store 3 times a week It,s .8 of a mile away from my house ,we are one of your reward program and our number is 410-529-1011, under Carol Amer my wife. I never had any problem with any one until today. The cashier Ryan was very rude to me and the customer after me . I had to tell him that your customer service skills need to be improved to keep your customers happy ad come back again . No please or thank you to any one . very poor and rude cashier . I visited a Weis market yesterday and felt like I needed to get paid after I left. I stopped shopping at WalMart due to the inconvenience and disregard the corporation has for their customer's time. WalMart, on average, never has enough cashier manned lines open for the amount of customers waiting to check out. I am not an individual who prefers to check myself out. I prefer the face-to-face interaction with an employed human being vs. a machine. I initially began shopping at Weis due to the connivence of not having to wait to be checked out because there was always enough manned cashier lanes. Fast forward to yesterday, there was not one manned cashier lane available. I was "forced" to use the self-check out machines. There were plenty of Weis employees available to assist with self-check out, but none appropriated to serve as actual cashiers. It took me so long to self-check out due to the machine constantly slowing things down. I was so frustrated when I left, I will NOT be shopping at this location or any other location that does not have actual cashiers. read more

Good: -Open 24 hours -self check out Bad: -Stale food: I've come to this location and others several time and have taken home stale or molded product. Why are they selling stale or expired food on a regular basis? I would triple check your produce and your snacks asile purchases to insure quality and freshness. Skip the organic selection all together i've had to return too many vegetable item's that they sell pre-wrapped for having mold. -Customer service desk- There is no one ever at the desk for customer service! read more

This store is ok. It is a bit expensive and doesnt have a large variety of brands. I am somewhat jaded now because I have seen the promised land, Wegmans, and yeah but not to detract from this store, it is ok. It is clean and somewhat big. It is easy to get in and out, never really too busy. The prices are a bit high for my tastes, but they do have a club card or whatever, that is free, and many items are on sale if you ahve this card. So yeah I only come here if I happen to need something quick and I am in the area. Other than that, I try to stay away. read more

I will not be going back to this store. I attempted to purchase sandwich meat from the deli today. The man who was waiting on me seemed nice, but very slow. I ordered a half pound of one type, and then ordered another half pound of another. He said he was going to give me a different brand because it was the one on sale, and also happened to be out of the cooler. Anyway, as he weighed it there was a pile of my meat hanging off the paper, touching the nasty, dirty scale. I asked him to please remove the contaminated meat. Then i said nevermind and explained to the 3 attendees at the deli that their scale was filthy. They just looked at me...that is how people get sick! Yuck. read more

This has to be the worst market in Howard county. The fruit is ALWAYS bruised or rotten. Not enough cashiers. The Western Union is ALWAYS down whenever I'm attempting to pay a bill. There are never enough people working in the deli section of the store, almost everyday the salad bar is a mess or empty, the HOT bar is a joke, how can it be empty at noon each day? Wouldn't be a bad grocery store if they could control the pan handlers that are always out in the parking lot. Today someone was actually in the store begging for money. This had been my primary day to day store for at least 5 years but I have to stop shopping here. No I don't usually purchase meat or fish because their quality is lacking but it used to be great for bread, milk, pasta and fresh vegetable purchases but now the place is simply dirty and I can't deal with that. The huge parking lot is always filthy withold gum, stains cigarettes and trash strewn. Once inside, if you pay attention, isn't much better. The baskets are disgusting, the palates where the meat, or milk or anything refrigerated are kept are filthy. Dry blood, dirt, milk, everywhere. The store has dirty floors, overstocked greens that often fall on those dirty floor , there are bugs in the donut case...i could go on but simply put it has become low class. I can't read more

We have never had issues with any products we purchased here. The are always stocked and you get great deals. The let you double coupon and give great coupons per purchase. The downside is the staff, they are not friendly and we have encountered some extremely rude unprofessional workers here. There were times that I was totally offended by some of the employees and I use my hard earned money here just like anyone else. One cashier was really pleasant to the lady in front of me, however when I walked up she frowned and didn't speak. read more

Clean store, great selection, quality generic brands. All in all a very good grocery store. Their prices are very competitive.

As a general-purpose grocery store, the company has a competitive operation. Several specialty departments, a large selection of general food items, and a pharmacy on-site. Using a Weis customer card and avoiding busy times like Sunday evening, selection and service are certainly adequate. Two comments: first, the pharmacy has a good selection but is very crowded and items can be hard to find. Second, the gas bar (Weis Gas n' Go) is severely over-priced; the pump prices rival the full-price Exxon down at the corner. It's a much better option to go to High's on Highway 175 in Jessup, where pump prices for regular are 20 cents less and for premium 60 cents less and where Weis customer points are redeemable just the same. read more

We spend $10,000 a year on groceries at this store and another $2,000 on gas and prescriptions. But not anymore. The store is limiting live checkout, causing long lines at both live and self checkout lanes. As the self-checkout lanes choked on large orders (that they are not designed to accomodate) the employee who arrived, informed me that the limited live checkout was deliberate--a "management decision" to cut hours. I asked her to convey my complaint to the manager. She informed me that it wouldn't do any good and that I must "go online" or speak to the manager myself. Just so you know, Weis.com does not provide a way to enter an online complaint. We'll just choose another brand. read more

I like this particular Weis better than any of the others in the area. It is a whole lot nicer, larger selection of things, and cleaner. I stop off here on my way home from work a lot. Not a fancy store, but serves the purpose. If I am looking for gourmet items, I'll go elsewhere. I like their flower selection also!! read more

This Weis on Washington Blvd, oh my goodness. I purchased two steaks, got them home, opened the package and the smell almost knocked me over. I heard from an ex-worker that they repackage meat and slap a new date on the front, but I just blew it off. Well, they were right. The meat smelled so rotten, and the fact that they did not debate with me over the refund just shows me that this is something they do. I sent Corporate an email asking if they would please speak with the staff in the meat department about selling outdated meat. Also there is a worker in the deli department that is so slow, it is unreal. If he is not talking to himself, he is eating over the deli meat or cheese that he is slicing for you which I feel is unsanitary. I don't like anyone talking or eating while standing slicing my food. I can't tell you how many times I have taken what this particular person packaged for me and set it to the side. read more

I regularly shop at this weis, but never have I encountered what occurred today. We were waiting to checkout for about 5 minutes with a toddler in tow. They closed our lane we had been waiting in and would serve no one else, and closed all remaining lanes. They then began turning off the lights and closing the store. Several other customers were also thrown off as there was NO ANNOUNCEMENT, no sign, no explanation of any sort of it closing even though this is a 24 hour weis...., and even the employees were visibly shocked that the lights were being turned off. I just wanted to buy my groceries after waiting in line, and being cut off and told no one would let me check out my items that I had gone through the store to gather while entertaining a toddler to avoid tantrums has made me very upset because eventually I will have to do it over again. As a weis gold member I don't know if I will be willing to return to this store after what happened today. read more

I would like for everyone to know what a great experience I've just had. As everyone knows we are supposed to get hit with a huge snow storm. Grocery stores are always out of control when this happens and as I expected it was. The manager on duty handled all of the chaos as if it were any other day, it was Ovious she knew what she was doing. She was not just standing around handing out orders. She was directing the entire FOH while running her own register. Just wanted her to know how much easier she made everyone's visit tonight. read more
