I used this pharmacy because it was convenient on my way to work. Never had any major issues until the past couple months.
A couple months ago I had a prescription change. I had just gotten a refill so I told them I was just dropping of the new prescription to put on file. A few weeks later I get a text that my prescription is ready. I went in to pick it up and as I'm walking out I had a nagging feeling that they may have messed up so I check the medication and it was the old prescription. I go back up to the pharmacy and explain that I was given the wrong prescription. Well, since I had left the counter they couldn't return it (that was my fault, I should have checked before I walked away.) Now, since they couldn't return it they would have to call my insurance company and get approval to refill another prescription. I completely understood that, but as I was stopping by on my way to catch a flight I told them I would just keep the prescription, but if they could put a stop on my old prescription or something so that it wouldn't keep filling it I would appreciate it. The clerk said she would take out the old prescription and leave the new one, but would put a hold on it so I would actually have to call or come in when I was ready to get the prescription filled. No problem.
Call to get my prescription filled. They have no record of my new prescription, only my old one. So apparently they removed my new one and kept my old one. Awesome. So I asked if they could contact my doctor to get the prescription issue taken care of. I was told I would have to call my doctor and have the new prescription sent to them, since they don't have the prescription. So, not only did Walgreens mess up twice, inconveniencing me, but now I'm being inconvenienced again by having to fix Walgreens screw up. I'm usually pretty understanding, having had positions where I had to deal with customers, but this was just incompetence and they should have at least offered to fix it with my doctor instead of inconveniencing me yet again. The doctor issued the prescription. I'm sure if Walgreens called my doctor and stated that they had screwed up and lost my prescription that the doctor would be more than willing to just send over another prescription, instead of making me call my doctor and explain the incompetence of Walgreens.
Rather than be inconvenienced by the pharmacy I would rather be just a little inconvenienced by going to a different Walgreens a half mile out of my way, which is what I will be doing. read more
