    got my flu shot
    Susan H.

I hadn't been to this Walgreens in years. What prompted me to go there recently was due to the fact that our health plan didn't have the enhanced flu shot available and didn't even know when they would get it. So...I told my doctor that I was going to go to Walgreens. She was okay with that. Even though they take walk ins, we booked appointments. By doing so, we were able to print up the necessary forms and fill them out in advance. We also were sure to have our health plan info readily available. When our appointments were confirmed by email, we were told to get there 15 minutes early. The pharmacy clerk who helped us was friendly but he really didn't know what he was doing. He ended up getting someone else to enter our info. Good thing he did that as the second person saw that he spelled our last name incorrectly. While he was entering our info, someone showed up as a walk-in and was told that they would be taken shortly. I pointed out that we had made appointments. He just shrugged it off. The walk in got taken first. Seriously, Walgreens? Why bother to encourage people to make appointments when you don't take it it seriously? We also overheard someone comment that the last time they got a shot there, they had to wait 1 hour! Well...we were taken 1/2 hour later than appointment times. It, at that point, was quick in and out. Our insurance covered it all. I decided to give them 3 stars because after we got our shots, we did some shopping there. They have a larger selection of vitamins and minerals than CVS. Also, they had things like home DNA kits, even paternity tests as well as home A1C tests. What really impressed us is that they had a pulse ox test. When the virus started to spread, it was recommended that everybody get one to check their oxygen levels. Well, of course, there was a run on them at the time. Now, finally, we found one. We were impressed as to how well stocked they were compared to CVS. My husband found some eye drops that he likes and can't easily find elsewhere. So...very mixed feelings here. I would have rated them higher if they handled the whole flu shot business differently. Next year, we may end up going back there since our own health plan never seems to have the enhanced flu shots.

Over the Counter OTC at Home COVID tests were in stock

I've driven by this Walgreens countless times yet never had a reason to pop in until a friend gifted me with a poster print of a piece of art work he created and had it sent to be printed to this Walgreens. I ran in to the store and was immediately greeted by an associate who asked what brought me in and directed me to the photo counter for assistance. My order was ready and the transaction was seamless which was nice given that the store was pretty busy this morning. And to my surprise on my way out I saw that they had a freshly stocked section with over the counter at home COVID tests which are hard to come by so I grabbed what the allowed limit was and waited on line to pay. There were 2 cashiers and I was checked out in a matter of minutes. Truly the best unexpected Walgreens trip ever so I'll definitely be back!

On our way back from Herndon, stopped by a Walgreens and decided to shop there rather than driving to our Ashburn location. First Tuesday of the month so AARP 20% off non-sale items. We found what we were looking to buy and quick exit out of the store. To get back on the main road you do have to drive a bit around since no u turns are allowed.

I told the greeter I was there for pickup and was directed to stand in a line of about 10 people. That alone defeats the entire purpose of ordering online. After I pushed back, she called for help. Another associate came over...only to tell me the exact same thing, to get in line. At that point, I said cancel the order and started to leave. As I'm walking out, she says "you can cancel the order" in a dismissive tone. So I walked back in and asked for the manager. Of course, the person giving the attitude was the manager, Blanca. Instead of resolving anything, she tells me she's busy helping another customer and can't grab my order. Then follows me to the door continuing to explain how busy the store is and that they've had "issues." None of that is the customer's problem. What's wild is that the store was full of associates, yet no one could take 30 seconds to retrieve a prepaid order. No ownership. No urgency. No accountability. I canceled my order with customer service immediately after and will not be returning to this location. If you actually want a seamless experience, go to Tysons Corner, One Loudoun, or Mosaic instead.

After having six children, I had significant abdominal muscle separation (diastasis recti) that left me feeling defeated even after working out consistently at the gym. Dr. Kochuba repaired it beautifully, along with addressing the capsular contracture in one of my breasts. The results are truly amazing. I look like a new person. My abdomen is flat and strong again, something I thought I'd never have again! I feel confident in ways I haven't in years. From the very first consultation to the most recent post op appointment, Dr. Kochuba provided expert care. He took the time to listen to all my concerns, answered questions, and made me feel at ease. His attention to detail and surgical skill are outstanding. Recovery was great compared to most experiences I read about and I credit this to Dr. Kochuba's excellent surgical skill. He truly cares about delivering the best possible outcome, both visually and physically, and it shows in the results. The entire team at Austen-Weston was fantastic as well. Simone was wonderful (and patient, as I had many questions!) during my consultation, Katrina made sure I was comfortable and prepared the morning of surgery, and Anastasia provided caring support during my overnight stay, which I highly recommend adding on if you can. Even the Anesthesiologist did a perfect job and I wasn't even nauseas when waking up after surgery, which has happened every other time I've been put under. Every single staff member was professional, kind, and attentive. If you are considering restorative surgery, especially anything involving the abdomen or breast revision, Dr. Kochuba is the surgeon you want. He exceeded all my expectations and I am forever grateful for the transformation he gave me. Highly, highly recommend!

Recently, I went back for a second procedure, but this time after donating a kidney. The pre-op was a mess, including: - The practice contacting my transplant surgeon for clearance, even after I asked them not to. (At this point, she has no obligation to me except for routine monitoring. Plus, I haven't seen her as a patient since I donated four months ago.) - My "patient advisor" telling me, inaccurately, that they are concerned about my "liver" function. I pointed out that my liver function is just fine. - My "patient advisor" telling me that my (bad) kidney numbers "keep going up, up, up." That's simply not accurate. - The "patient advisor" telling me that they would give me Celebrex post-op. My response: "Um, no. As I told you earlier, as a kidney donor, I cannot take NSAIDs." - My "patient advisor" falsely telling me, apropos a possible discount, "As I told you earlier...." Again, that simply didn't happen. - The practice ignoring my PCP's clearance for the procedure and, instead, saying they would delay for two months. - The practice ignoring my nephrologist's verbal clearance for the procedure and, instead, saying they would delay for two months due to a minor blip in my kidney numbers. To be clear, they should have asked my nephrologist about a pre-op evaluation, not my surgeon. I'm pretty disappointed, as this was going to be my present to myself after kidney donation. To be clear: I appreciate their being careful. But when we are talking about my health, accuracy is key. And I am just not seeing it. Plus, while these inaccuracies may not be a big deal when individually considered, taken as a whole, they are deeply concerning. And I don't know how a patient can give informed consent when they are getting bad information about being given NSAIDs, etc. In fact, I don't know why you would give an NSAID to a patient post-surgery, but perhaps I'm missing something. I should also state, in fairness, that my patient advisor is very new, so that may be part of the issue. She also is not an RN, which is okay, but then she should have a high level of basic medical knowledge-like knowing that you cannot give kidney donors NSAIDs. I've asked for my deposit to be refunded and plan to go elsewhere. I'd love to recommend this practice, but I can't.

While the school presents itself as a premier training institution, the reality was quite different. Many of the instructors displayed an unprofessional and, at times, rude attitude toward students. Questions were often met with impatience, and constructive feedback was inconsistent. Instead of feeling supported and encouraged to grow, I frequently felt dismissed and undervalued. One of the most troubling aspects of my experience was the apparent favoritism shown toward certain groups of students. Opportunities, attention, and support often seemed unevenly distributed, leaving some students feeling overlooked. A professional educational institution should provide equal respect, encouragement, and opportunities to every student regardless of their background. Unfortunately, that was not the environment I experienced. What was even more disappointing was the lack of support after graduation. Once the program was over and tuition had been paid, communication seemed to end. There was little interest in maintaining relationships with former students or helping them succeed in their careers. In fact, if you happen to run into some of the instructors outside of school, don't be surprised if they avoid eye contact, turn around, or act as though they don't know you. It leaves the impression that students are valued only while they are paying customers. I would also encourage prospective students to look beyond the five-star reviews featured on the school's website. During graduation, students are encouraged to submit reviews, but the review process does not necessarily capture the full student experience. The focus is often on whether the class was worth the money rather than on the quality of instruction, professionalism of the staff, fairness, student support, or the overall learning environment. The techniques taught can be learned elsewhere, often from instructors who genuinely care about their students and their success. A great school is not defined only by the skills it teaches but also by the professionalism, integrity, and respect it shows to its students. Unfortunately, this program fell short in those areas. Before investing your time and money, I strongly recommend speaking with former students independently and doing thorough research. Don't let the glowing reviews alone make your decision. My experience was that once the tuition was collected, students became little more than a source of revenue rather than valued members of a professional community.
