I came here with a fever from the Reston inova go urgent care ... it's been an hour since they called in my prescription, I waited in the pharmacy line 20 min with 5 people behind the counter only one on register to be told they don't have my prescription. They forced me to get paperwork from my car to prove it: I had to go to the back of the line and called the doctor to say they didn't have it and she then told me to wait and I'm like ok so you do have it? Horrible pharmacy, takes them 1.5h to fill perscription ear drops (not like they made them from scratch for crying out loud ), incompetent staff and a careless pharmacists who doesnt want to help untrained staff and teach them simple things like asking for person's insurance first and then how to add it into the system, instead tried to charge me full "uninsured" price first after i waited over 1h with sick child by my side and then couldn't add insurance for another 30 min due to typo smh. No competence nor compassion for anyone's situation. I hadn't been to this Walgreens in years. What prompted me to go there recently was due to the fact that our health plan didn't have the enhanced flu shot available and didn't even know when they would get it. So...I told my doctor that I was going to go to Walgreens. She was okay with that. Even though they take walk ins, we booked appointments. By doing so, we were able to print up the necessary forms and fill them out in advance. We also were sure to have our health plan info readily available. When our appointments were confirmed by email, we were told to get there 15 minutes early. The pharmacy clerk who helped us was friendly but he really didn't know what he was doing. He ended up getting someone else to enter our info. Good thing he did that as the second person saw that he spelled our last name incorrectly. While he was entering our info, someone showed up as a walk-in and was told that they would be taken shortly. I pointed out that we had made appointments. He just shrugged it off. The walk in got taken first. Seriously, Walgreens? Why bother to encourage people to make appointments when you don't take it it seriously? We also overheard someone comment that the last time they got a shot there, they had to wait 1 hour! Well...we were taken 1/2 hour later than appointment times. It, at that point, was quick in and out. Our insurance covered it all. I decided to give them 3 stars because after we got our shots, we did some shopping there. They have a larger selection of vitamins and minerals than CVS. Also, they had things like home DNA kits, even paternity tests as well as home A1C tests. What really impressed us is that they had a pulse ox test. When the virus started to spread, it was recommended that everybody get one to check their oxygen levels. Well, of course, there was a run on them at the time. Now, finally, we found one. We were impressed as to how well stocked they were compared to CVS. My husband found some eye drops that he likes and can't easily find elsewhere. So...very mixed feelings here. I would have rated them higher if they handled the whole flu shot business differently. Next year, we may end up going back there since our own health plan never seems to have the enhanced flu shots. read more

I have been coming to this Walgreens for the past 5 years and haven't had any major issues that are at the immediate fault of the store itself. I've been through the store, the pharmacy, and even got a covid booster vaccine from here. The customer service, wait times at the pharmacy, and cleanliness/organization of the store are all standard compared to other Walgreens stores I've been to. I've driven by this Walgreens countless times yet never had a reason to pop in until a friend gifted me with a poster print of a piece of art work he created and had it sent to be printed to this Walgreens. I ran in to the store and was immediately greeted by an associate who asked what brought me in and directed me to the photo counter for assistance. My order was ready and the transaction was seamless which was nice given that the store was pretty busy this morning. And to my surprise on my way out I saw that they had a freshly stocked section with over the counter at home COVID tests which are hard to come by so I grabbed what the allowed limit was and waited on line to pay. There were 2 cashiers and I was checked out in a matter of minutes. Truly the best unexpected Walgreens trip ever so I'll definitely be back! read more

This is about their pharmacy. I use them because of convenience but in the past several Covid tests, they didn't return the results in a timely manner or gave me unsatisfactory "not enough specimen" reason, which is frustrating. They should put the sign Incompetent so that no more people waste their time effort and energy. read more

I'm shocked by the 2 star rating. My rating is based primarily on the Pharmacy and what appears to be revolving door of Pharmacists. I have prescriptions that I get monthly as it can only be filled every 30 days. I've had this for several years and all prescriptions are submitted for 90 days by my doctor. Almost every month I have problems getting one or both filled, they get them mixed up and confused. The clerks who have been there get very short with yo. They say use the app, but when you rely on it, sometimes you do not hear anything, then you call and get processed. One example, today is the 3rd day when I check the app and it says your pharmacy is working on your prescription and that they have fallen behind. When I called yesterday the clerk was very short with me and said I will get a notification. They close in a couple of hours and I'm suppose to fly out tonight which I told them. This is a monthly prescription i get filled. There is know one to complain too. I'm looking to change but I fear I'll just run into the stuff somewhere else. I wish Walgreens management could examine because I appear to one of many who continue to experience many challenges with this location, primarily with the pharmacy. read more

I recently moved and don't have transportation, so I decided I should try making the Herndon Walgreens my preferred pharmacy for my prescriptions. I stopped in on a Wednesday evening to transfer my prescriptions and update my insurance. I had to stand in line for about 15 min. Two windows and the drive through were very busy. Once I got to the window, everything went smoothly and quickly. I hadn't intended to get my prescriptions then, since they were so busy. I was surprised when told they could be ready if I waited another 15 min. I agreed. 10 min later my scripts were ready and I left, a VERY HAPPY customer!! Worst Walgreens pharmacy ever!!! 1. They gave me the wrong medication and when I told them, they said they can switch to Generic and it's was similar to my prescription so it was fine. However my prescription stated "dispense as written" so switching to generic drug wasn't a option. I called and confirmed with my doctor if prescription had been switched or she is forgot to check mark the box "dispense as written" but no. I went back to the Pharmacy and the Pharmacist back tracked about switching generic and tried to give me "Walgreens rewards points" to compensate for giving me wrong medicine. Yep! 2. A few weeks I dropped off prescription over weekend and I told the prescription wouldn't be ready until the next day. I said it was fine and I got busy with work so I didn't go back until next Sunday, 7 days later. After waiting in line for 35 min. I was told prescription wasn't ready. When I asked why, I was told the Pharmacist couldn't read the doctors handwriting so they would have to call to confirm the prescription details. However, i was picking up on a Sunday so meant doctor office was closed. When I asked why haven't they called since they had the prescription for a week, no one could answer the question. 3. The worst drive-thru in the world is here! Today, I made couple rounds before I got into pharmacy line with 5 cars ahead of me at 12:02pm. It's been 47 minutes and only 3 cars ahead of me have managed to leave and 2 more are waiting ahead of me and today is a Wednesday. It's 12:49pm right now. This is not the only time I have waited over 45 min for pickup medication. If you want to waste your time, then come here. My family has been coming to this pharmacy since it opened. I have lots of stories to tell but I choose the most recent ones. ---I left the Walgreens drive-thru at 1:27pm. 1 hour and 25 minutes later. read more

This Walgreens used to be amazing, but it has drastically gone down hill the past few years. Today was the straw that broke the camel's back. A prescription was called in for me on Tuesday. I planned to pick it up Thursday evening, but when I asked the pharmacist if it would be easier to pick it up on Friday, she requested a Friday pickup. I just went in (today is Sunday), and it was not ready. When I explained to the lady behind the counter that I was told it would be ready two days ago, she stated that I did not speak to her and did not believe that the conversation happened. Horrible horrible horrible customer experience at this Walgreens by cashier Pat. I literally go to this Walgreens everyday and this is the second time she gets into my face. I had 4 cold 16oz drinks in hand. I walked to the cashier and there were 2 customers in line ahead of me. I placed the 4 drinks on the corner end of the cashier furthest away from the cash register since they were cold. Immediately Pat yelled that lady is in front of you! Woah!!! What kind of gangsta-type customers is Pat accustomed to? To accused her customers of cutting inline is horrid! I told her the drinks were cold and she replied please do not crowd, -- obvious reference to the social distance that's been going on these past 2 years. Folks I kid you not, Pat's MO is very clear. She's one of those types of people who have to be in folks' face, just for no reason. Since she was wrong about me cutting in line, she had to find another "reason" to be in my face. Assist manager was present and I started to tell him about Pat, and then she interjected All I asked him was to make space. What about initially when you were accusing your customer of cutting in line? She has not courage to even admit to what she did, shows she knows she wasn't right in this situation. The first time that I got horrible customer service from Pat, I was holding 3 12-pack Cokes and she told me I couldn't place them on the cashier table when there are others in line. Waited more than an hour to get vaccinated, there were 2-6 people were working in and out, but only one of them was working for both prescription and vaccine appointment registration during 90% of total time we spent there. The person who gives a shot wasn't even caring/not knowing?! about people are actually waiting to get a shot since forever, and was doing something on the computer. Every time I go to this Walgreens I go because it's conveniently close by, however every time I've been here the customer service is horrible. if I could give it -100 I would. This time Vanessa the cashier at the front was very rude, unprofessional, unfriendly and when I spoke to her trying to be nice so she'd smile, she completely ignored me while staring right at me looking pissed off . Nobody greeted me when I came in and nobody greeted me or thanked me when I left. The prices always ring up for more than the price tags and then they act pissed off that they have to check it for you and they don't even apologize after they check that it rang up the wrong price. If you like to deal with friendly professional people who care about your business and want you back, DONT come here. We went to pick up prescriptions today and waited in line for 20 minutes. My wife was only acknowledged after she opened the car door to knock on the glass of the drive thru window. We have been loyal customers since the store opened, but will be switching to another drugstore immediately. When I called the store to complain, the manager was not on duty. In fact, the acting manager admitted that the store is intentionally understaffed by the District Manager, Jerry Couch. She stated that they have asked for more staff during busy times, but are routinely directed to understaff the store. Having received less than pleasant service from the pharmacy over the past few years, combined with today's experience and revelation about understaffing, we will be moving elsewhere. Managing a business in this manner (Walmart style) will eventually put this location out of business. read more

Pretty convenient location in relation to my office in Reston. If I need something while at work I don't have far to go - and if I need to pick up something to pack in my suitcase on the way to Dulles International Airport - also convenient! My last flight out of Dulles - I wanted something to help with my congested head so during landing my head and ears did not feel like they were going to blow off. I called my Doctor to see what he recommended. I then checked with their Pharmacist to get the pros and cons of each of the three OTC drugs. Ended up with Zyrtec which seemed to work well. Quite literally the most incompetent pharmacy I've ever interacted with in my whole life. I needed my medications transferred to this pharmacy... I received a call at 4:56 PM that I had no more refills, even though my doctor confirmed with me that I had two more. When I called the pharmacy back at 5:02, they denied calling me 6 minutes before and said that they had no record of even calling to get my prescription transferred. I drove to the location, and had to wait more than half an hour in line, despite the fact that 3-4 people were working. Get organized, do your job correctly, and don't tell me your staff didn't call me when they did. If I could give zero stars I would -- thank you for nothing, Walgreens pharmacy. read more

The last couple of times we went there for our flu/COVID/etc. vaccines, we waited in line a very long time because they had one person working the window and everyone picking up prescriptions had insurance coverage issues. You would think they'd call someone to cover the other window to check people in. Nope. You'll wait. And wait. And wait. And wait. Be prepared to wait up to an hour in line even if you registered in advance on-line. We don't have hours to waste waiting in line, so we won't be going back to Walgreens. read more
